THEE Freshest Seafood in Utah. Flavors for the seafood boils are actually flavorful. Not just bland butter. Love how they put a good amount of seasoning mixed into the butter. My only downside to the flavor is too much butter. When wanting to have balanced diet. Seasoning is great. Other than that. I have no complaints. All of their food is perfect. This restaurant has a charming atmosphere, and the food is great. I love that they offer fry sauce. And the menu is robust--there are plenty of inexpensive options for non-fish eaters. With the Saints game on the monitor, I sat at the bar and ordered our food to go. The service was attentive and timely, our food was tasty, and we appreciate that the sauces were packed separately so that the bread and fries didn't get soggy. Thank you also for the individually wrapped hand wipes :) We started with the crab meat fries. FIRE! They are generous with the crab meat and we wished we had a jar of that fry sauce. Tangy with a lil' kick, this tasted great and the fries were cooked perfectly. Next we had the fried flounder sliders. The buns were fresh, the flounder portions were huge, and again, the sauce paired well with the fresh veggies in our sliders. The cajun fries were perfect, but the crab meat fries were really really good :) Last, we had the fried Oyster po boy. So good! Generous portions of perfectly fried oysters that were crunchy on the outside and succulent on the inside. Fresh and tasty, the bun was soft and the sauce completed every delicious bite. This review was hard but I think 3 stars is fair. Mind you we didn't get the boil, which is what they're known for. As far as food, it was perfectly fine. Nothing amazing, nothing bad. Waitress was a little less than friendly, but to be fair to her it looked like she was the only one working so she was pretty busy. Prices were a little high for what we got I think. Now the pros? Well there's an outdoor play place for your energetic toddler to run around at (like we had), the decor is very sea-oriented which kept her happy and busy. My family of six decided to treat ourselves to dinner on Labor Day. We selected O' Crab Cajun Seafood, and we are very glad we did. All of the seafood and sides we ordered were outstanding, very likely the best seafood we've enjoyed in Utah. Additionally, seafood in the meals were prepared to order (corn and potatoes are typically partially cooked) as were the hot fresh beignets we enjoyed for dessert. The pasta and coleslaw were also nicely prepared. The ambience was wonderful, and reminded us of the wonderful meals we formerly enjoyed on Long Island, New York. There is even an excellent playground outside for the children, complete with a recognizable pirate look-alike. Service was adequate if a bit spotty, with longer than expected waits between check-in's for drinks and other small requests. While the check was moderately expensive, we all agreed we had received outstanding meals and we also took home considerable leftovers (as the portions were quite large). We are definitely planning to return to O' Crab for the outstanding food that we believe to be a very great value! read more

When we first got here she had an attitude asked for a Coke Zero and was rudely told they only have Diet Pepsi. Then try to see their menu for my sons drink and she said with an attitude again "well what do you normally order when you go out" We had a large group so we were kinda trying to figure out where to sit and were yelled at for changing seats (they were trying to take our orders before we were even sat) After we were finished eating our food my son was being a normal toddler and being a little noisy and she told my son to be quiet and that there was people eating. Not my favorite seafood boil in SLC. I came here with a group of friends so we shared some apps and ordered our own boil. The crab fries were just ok. There's a lot of sauce that drowned out the crab for me and I could've sworn I ate some imitation crab meat too. Like the imitation crab sticks. Our server said it's really popular here and I'm not sure why. I created my own boil which includes Dungeness crab 1 corn and 3 baby potatoes for $30. I had it dressed in Cajun seasoning with mild spice. Our sever said the fire was really salty, so I wanted to avoid adding any more sodium. The half shelled oysters were disgusting. These are way bigger than expected and I should've asked before ordering. They didn't even pull the "meat" from the shell. read more

I've been sitting on this review for a couple weeks after my visit-I'm just not sure what to say. It's a strange place that I had a hard time connecting with-but I don't know if that's the fault of the restaurant or just a discrepancy between my preferences and what it provides. It's a seafood place that doesn't take itself too seriously. There are brightly colored, larger-than-life fish hanging from the ceiling and cutesy décor all about. We were seated in a booth that shared a common divider with another booth-which had an energetic toddler poking through to say hello. The service was fantastic. Our server was attentive and friendly and made sure to keep our drinks topped off and offered suggestions on the menu. The menu itself was probably where I got hung up the most. I read through it several times and struggled to find anything that really spoke out to me. I eventually landed on a salad with shredded crab meat on top-and it was really good. They also have a full bar menu, which is will appeal to the adults in the crowd. I like that I can order a meal with the kiddos and also enjoy an alcoholic beverage, if I choose. That may not seem like a noteworthy comment, but if you're from Utah you'll understand what I mean. Most kid-friendly places are not simultaneously adult beverage friendly. Well, our friends chose this restaurant... looked interesting! We got there and and we seated immediately waiter seemed to be a nice guy. Ordered ice tea and hush puppies fried pickles for appetizer appetizers were good and that's pretty much where it ended... Service for getting the food was slow, asked for sweetener for the iced tea that came 15 minutes later. There were no napkins asked for it took 20 minutes to get. Asked for some forks for the crab fries never got those.... Well everything tasted old and the service was so bad. The waiter had to apologize... I ordered delivery with GrubHub tonight. Got the lobster bisque soup which has a good portion of lobster pieces and I also got the deep fried lobster and Cajun fries. Very tasty, all of it!! I have to give this location 5 stars. We went yesterday evening to celebrate my nephew's football season win and he loved it! He had the make your own combo with crab legs, potatoes and corn with the butter garlic and mild flavoring. The wife had lobster tail, scallops with potatoes and corn. I had the cajun chicken Alfredo and had plenty for leftovers. The chicken was so tasty and flavorful. Our waitress was so attentive and nice! It wasn't too busy being a Monday but two other families were talking to us and enjoying their food telling us what they got and how it tasted. It was definitely a good choice to take our nephew. He said it was his best day ever. We loved the decor and they even have a play area outside for kids which most places don't nowadays. Definitely recommend! The seafood was delicious. The service was atrocious. Bailey, our waitress was lazy and not kind. I inquired about what the kids pasta was because my child doesn't eat anything but pasta and red sauce. I was told it was just marinara and pasta, perfect. When it came out there was about a pound of Parmesan cheese on it. We also had a baby in our party and Bailey placed the hot seafood boils right in front of the baby instead of walking the 5 extra feet to place the food on the other end of the table. She also tossed one in front of me quite rudely. A little manners go a long way. We needed refills, the waitress was nowhere to be found. Finally after 20 minutes, we asked for water refills but clearly, that was a hassle. A lot of staff was sitting around, didn't appear to be doing much, which is why I found it shocking it was so hard to pay attention to your only table.
