We found Bouzy while walking around looking for a brunch spot on a rare trip to Hyde Park and came away very pleased with the experience overall, though there were a few minor hiccups with our visit. I'll start with the good stuff. The space inside Bouzy's front dining area and bar is gorgeous. It's not large, but it has very high ceilings, which add to the sense of space, and the modern decor, especially the bubble-inspired lighting, all add up to a bright and vibrant atmosphere. I can easily imagine it looks even more polished and stylish at night. Also, our food was excellent. We got the Florentine Benedict and the Shrimp & Grits -- both were beautifully plated and delicious. Also, if you're feeling snacky before brunch, try the Marinated Olives. It's easily a snack for two -- we even ended up taking some home! I did mention a few minor hiccups at the start. The bottle of Cava Reserva we ordered was not kept chilled, so we had to wait a little for it to come out and we did worry for a moment that we wouldn't get it before our entrees arrived. Also, our server, while very friendly and sweet, was a little uneven in terms of how often she came over to check on us. At the start, she seemed a little scattered, but later on she found her groove and came over to us more often to see what we needed. As I said, minor hiccups, and certainly nothing that would discourage us from another visit the next time we cross the bay and visit Hyde Park. What an absolute disappointment. First off, nothing to do with service. All the ladies we met were phenomenal. Let's start with.. we made reservations way in advance for brunch for 6 people. We asked to sit in the lounge for the dj. We were told no, too many people in our party. We asked again day before... told no We get there, today... we asked again and are told oh sure you can sit back there. Barely anyone back there. Wtf?! We sit, we order lots of drinks. Then we order appetizers: chips and caviar dip, charcuterie stand & bacon. Bacon and charcuterie were lovely. The chips were cheap lays potato chips broken from the bag. Have some hand cut chips to go with caviar... Then for brunch we had quiche, carpaccio, 2 surf and turf Benedict's, steak sandwich, lobster roll, and some mushroom toast. My quiche was sour. I don't know how else to describe it. Spinach and feta which I love normally but every bite was OFF. Table tried it, they all agreed. Lobster... in the sandwich and Benedict's were so fishy and so overcooked they were like rubber bands. Sad. The food wasn't eaten sadly. I heard the steak sandwich was decent from my friend but the rest was so subpar. We drank more and got the heck out. Doubt we will return. The steak sandwich was alright but half of the sandwich had no meat at all. Veggiees and spread only . And can't forget that all their main plates comes with a. Side of lays chips from Walmart. Very small tables, we had a party of 7 and they put very tiny tables together. They can't accommodate big parties. They also need better ventilation system because they have a open concept kitchen and the whole time we were there the restaurant was so smoky my eyes we're burning and the smell making me nausea's. At least kept the bottomless mimosas coming and our server was very nice. Also on their website they said they had a Dj on sunday Brunches and he was nowhere to be found. Music sucked. read more

First time dining at Bouzy and my girlfriend and I decided to try their brunch. The vibe is nice. The oysters were great but this doesn't require any cooking techniques. I did do the unlimited bottomless mimosas and I definitely had a headache later so that's my indication that the champagne used was "not ideal". The restaurant changed their menu literally the night before so what I initially prepared to try was off the menu when I arrived the next day. I was disappointed in my entree. It was so beautifully presented (surf and turf), a great portion size as well. But why did I need salt?! I have never had to season any entree at any of my past restaurant dining experiences and I eat everywhere. Food was good across the board...everything tasted really good. The shrimp and grits portion was way bigger than expected. Flavor was solid, but the grits were a little runny for my taste. The brown sugar waffles were my favorite dish. We also got in just in time for some holiday drinks, and those were a fun touch...very festive and cute presentation. It was my daughter's birthday, so the waiter brought out a dessert with a candle, which was really nice. Later we realized we were actually charged for it, which was a little surprising but still a good experience with great outdoor seating, good food. Boozy is a cool little spot in Hyde Park, right across the street from Forbici. It's really small and quaint on the inside, which gives it a cozy, intimate feel. The kitchen is right behind the bar, so if you're sitting there you can actually watch them cooking, which is a nice touch. It's a great place for drinks. I've eaten here once and I think I got the grilled cheese. It was a while ago, but from what I remember it was pretty good. That said, I personally prefer Boozy as more of a drinks spot than a food destination. They also have a back room that I haven't actually sat in yet, but I've peeked my head in and it's gorgeous and looks super fun. I believe they do a mimosa special on the weekends, and sometimes have live music or a DJ back there, which is really cool. Love the drinks here, hate the ambiance. The music is always so loud in here, you have to scream to talk to the person you came with. They want to be a nice restaurant, but the ambiance the DJ turns it more into a club with loud rap music. I hope they change this. However, I have been to their back room, and that is really nice. Went to Bouzy recently for a drink, and I just gotta say that it's SO good. I got the browned butter old fashioned, which is one of the best old fashioneds that I have ever had in my whole life. The service was fantastic - despite them being slammed, they got us in so quickly and were on top of making sure that everything was great. You can switch back and forth between mimosas and bloody Mary's. For the mimosas, you can mix in your own OJ and mango juice. If you're looking for a party brunch, this is your spot. They had a DJ in the cellar and the music was super loud & fun. For food we ordered the citrus beet salad (added fish), the avocado toast with egg (added one more egg and a side of potatoes), and bacon, egg, cheese croissant (added a side of potatoes). It wasn't bad, but it could've used a bit more seasoning to really stand out. Buyer beware: I usually order champagne with St. Germain, and in my past experiences, restaurants have charged it as a standard glass of champagne--never more than $20. However, here they used their most expensive champagne option, and the drink came out to $36.50. That's why I'm giving it three stars, we were seated this last time at the bar but it took forever for someone to acknowledge our existence and get our drink order. The menu offers a lot of difference choices, from Bao buns to burgers and salads and much more. I ordered the mushroom baos and loved them. I think this is a great place to have in Hyde Park. I finally was able to cross it off my Tampa list recently. I got the Popstar and Cuban bao buns. The buns were very small, but I assume most of the food is finger food. We came in at 9 PM, and we were still able to get 2 drinks and food before they closed. So, the service was very fast! Last Sunday, my friends and I went to Bouzy for Brunch. We selected the DJ Cellar option, which is a 3 course Prix fixe menu for $35, drinks not included. The ambiance was really pleasant. I selected the mini cheese and charcuterie, bacon eggs, and potatoes, and the liege waffles as 3rd course. I wasn't impressed at all by my charcuterie, I am a cheese lover, so my expectations are high. Our server, Brandall, was great and very professional. He came out to explain what the dishes were and how he makes them, it was a really special experience with amazing service.
