Came for happy hour and had an amazing time! Happy hour is at the bar only but they had a great selection of crispy rice, rolls, and veggies. We also got the milk bread which was not on the happy hour menu but it was delicious, fluffy, and sweet. Drinks were amazing for a great price too!

Took the opportunity to try out the lunch here since my friends have been recommending it. This was my second time here and I really do enjoy it. The service is amazing (Thomas was our server this time), and the ambiance is great. We sat outside and it was a great time. We started with drinks of course and I ended up getting the Lychee Lover Martini. My friends got the Bird of Paradise and the Tropic Thunder and honestly all of them were delicious. Different flavor profiles so it depends on what mood you're in. For food, I chose to do the Prix Fixe menu for $29 and went with the House Salad + Salmon Crispy Rice + Poke Bowl. The salad was phenomenal and the salmon crispy rice was perfectly cooked. Unfortunately the poke bowl wasn't that great. I ended up not finishing it. I tried my friend's dishes as well and her Pork Belly Cubano was good, but her Chili Lime Chicken was not -- the flavors were conflicting and didn't mesh well. We also ordered off the regular menu and really enjoyed the Fried Green Tomatoes and Tuna Crispy Rice. Overall, lunch wasn't bad. Definitely a great deal. I think when I come back again, I may stick to the regular menu or I may have to choose the Pork Belly Cuban.

We visited the restaurant on a Saturday morning for brunch. We were seated immediately with no wait. The decor is amazing and the restaurant and bathroom were clean to the Tee. Staff were professional. I usually order the soft bread and sushi as an appetizer, which is great. Today I had the cheeseburger and my wife ordered the steak and eggs. But tasted great, however the food was slightly cold. Which is disappointing based on the price of the meal. Other than that, the service was great. Javier Lopez was very patient and professional. I definitely would recommend this restaurant and plan to return in the near future.

The ambiance and atmosphere are a vibe! The music is dance worthy once you've had a few drinks. Every dish that came out of the kitchen was masterfully designed and executed with precision. The balance of flavors and the quality of the ingredients were staggering. The brussel sprouts, milk bread, crispy rice, and steak were phenomenal. The drinks are made with precision and they have a unique taste. I loved the lychee martini, and cucumber gimlet! If you are looking for a place where the staff cares as much about your experience as they do about the food on the plate, look no further than Union. We can't wait to come back.

We finally made it back to Union after not visiting since they first opened three years ago! Upon our arrival we were shocked on how busy it was for a Saturday night. We were seated downstairs near the DJ booth which was a nice touch but a little bit too loud to truly have good conversation. For our drinks we tried the Lychee Martini and Old Fashioned. Both drinks were 10/10. Next we ordered several small plates to share. Between the Tuna Crispy Rice, Union Roll, Cesar Salad and Milk Bread, the Crispy Rice and Union Roll were exceptional. The Milk Bread was also a stand out. The Cesar salad, Brussels and fish dish fell flat in comparison to the small plates. Next time we visit Union we will likely stick to ordering only small plates!

Made reservations 30 minutes prior to arrival. Once seated, the server/bartender showed up and gathered our order quickly. Ordered the following: 2 Lychee lover, a Crispy zucchini app, Gulf snapper entree, & cookies for dessert. Omg they all were so fresh and so flavorful! My husband already said he wants to return.

Union New American was the perfect Sunday brunch spot. We started with the Crispy Zucchini for the table, and it was outstanding - perfectly crispy and paired beautifully with the dill labneh and preserved lemon. The cocktails were both delicious and beautifully presented. I ordered the Wagyu Steak + Eggs, and everything was cooked perfectly. The steak was tender and flavorful, the house potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the French omelet was absolutely delicious. The service was exceptional, with an attentive and friendly waiter who made the experience even better. The live music from the electric violinist added a great atmosphere. Looking forward to coming back and trying the dinner menu!

Union New American has become our go to spot for happy hour. My boyfriend and I come at least once a month and it never disappoints. The food is consistently great, the drinks are just as solid, and the bartenders are all fantastic, friendly, attentive, and clearly know what they're doing. It's the kind of place that feels elevated without being over the top, whether you're popping in for a quick drink or staying for a full evening. Always a staple in our rotation.

Fries were meh and also lukewarm.

Tried this out on a business trip with a coworker. Definitely better for a date night with a SO instead. Had a nice vibe and loud music. We ordered a representative sample of food starting with the wagyu tartare sushi and a tuna roll. Entrees included a prime rib sandwich for my friend and the wagyu skirt steak for me. We also ordered asparagus and more seasoned fries - I think rosemary - for the table. (We didn't realize his sandwich came with fries). A note about my steak. I wish restaurants would have a broader variety of weights on their cuts. Here there was an 8 oz wagyu skirt and a filet then it jumped up to a 16 oz ribeye. I prefer ribeye but I actually can't enjoy that much meat anymore. Something in between would be much appreciated. Another note. I was shocked to find the truffle butter was $12, when I assumed it was just an option offered by the server. Another alternative was chimmichurri. $3, 5, 7 maybe. But $12 for a small pat? C'mon. What was worse was the steak wasn't hot enough to melt that butter. And I had to ask for salt for the steak and the fries. Which they oddly offer with a grinder brought to the table by the server. The fries were kind of lifeless and not warm enough too. Look the sushi rolls were interesting and quite good. (But $24-36 for those was also pretty steep). The entrees less so. A 3.6 rounds to an over generous 4. Service was fine but a bit intermittent on a busy, but not overly busy night.

A shot of espresso and their version of a mojito. Both awesome options for brunch.

We had planned to go to First Watch based off of Yelp reviews but when we drove up, the wait was out the door. Union is located right next door so we decided to give them a shot. We were NOT disappointed. We assumed they were not busy because they did not offer breakfast (we wanted Sunday morning brunch). We were wrong. Not only did they have a nice brunch menu, there was no wait, we were able to sit on the patio, and they had live music. 10 out of 10 recommend the potatoes and the sausage. Timing of our service was perfect and the portion size was just the right amount. We did not leave feeling miserably overfull which is also a huge plus.

Super trendy and lots of hype given their location in the area. Valet is only $6.00 (I opt for valet for convenience). Wine bottles are worth the buy since wine by the glass is only 5 ounces. Ordered Apps: Chili lime chicken = a bit dry Wood fired shrimp = yum Brussels sprouts = not good but replaced by delicious salted asparagus (cooked to order, thanks to our amazing server, Diana, and kitchen staff). Burger and frites = awesome (especially the frites). I'd return if I make it back down to the South Tampa area anytime soon.

We had our friends baby shower here up on the terrace - beautiful space, the flower ceiling is stunning. The food was really good, the chicken, waffles, avocado toast - this was my first time trying the "brunch" items and everything was so good. Service was great, the team was very accommodating. Everyone had a great time and it was a great space for hosting an event like this!

I stumbled into this spot for lunch by total accident and it ended up being my favorite place in all of Tampa. I even went to multiple Michelin spots here and Union New American still beat them! This is a true hidden gem. The charcuterie board was the best I've had so far. The wagyu crispy rice and Union roll were both so good and packed with flavor. One of the best cocktails I've ever had too. The basque cheesecake was insane! They torched the side like crème brûlée. Easily top five desserts I've had, and the guava sorbet was incredibly refreshing. The vibes were great, the interior was beautiful, and even the bathroom felt fancy. Service was fine. Only weird thing was they brought everything out at once, but honestly the food was so good I didn't mind too much. Recs: Lychee Lover, Union Board, Basque Cheesecake, Union Roll, Wagyu Crispy Rice

At first it wasn't noticeable because there were only about 2 tables when we arrived but as the night progressed and the bar got busier, we had to wait for extended amounts of time for her to return to our table. We shared the truffle tots as an appetizer and they were delicious and perfect fried. I got the chicken Cesar wrap for my meal. Overall it was good, nothing special and honestly it was pretty bizarre to have croutons in a wrap. The fries were good but nothing beat those tots. We had a credit from The hotel to dine and our waitress once she learned this got immediately defensive and basically told us in many ways that we were lying and couldn't use the credit. After much back & forth with her she finally got in touch with management and changed her tune when she returned to our table to tell us she was mistaken and it was taken care of. Definitely not appropriate customer service at all on her part. We paid the reminder of our checks, tipped on the total minus our credit and couldn't get out of there fast enough.

It's got that all-around fun, energetic atmosphere that makes it a solid choice for drinks. Not sure how it is during the week, but it would make for a fun date night spot to grab some cocktails. That said, I had a real hang-up the last time I went with my girlfriend around Christmas. They tried to hit us with a $10 cover just to get in, on top of $15-20 cocktails. I don't mind paying for a nice spot, but the cover felt absurd, especially since it wasn't even busy. The bouncer said we could make a reservation to avoid it, so I did...and then he made us stand outside forever before letting us in. At that point, we should've just left, but since my friend had never been, we stuck it out to try the themed Christmas cocktails. Once inside, there was a two-drink minimum per person, which is kind of crazy. It feels like they jip you either way...cover or no cover, minimum spend or not. While waiting outside (for no real reason, since it was empty), we chatted with a party of six who came straight from Ash (the sister restaurant upstairs). They'd just spent over $1,000 on their meal and were still getting charged a cover to enter Alter Ego. That's poor business, don't force extra fees to guarantee money when good music, drinks, and vibes should bring people in naturally and make them want to spend. There's plenty of places on Water Street with great (and I'd say better) cocktails where you're not forced into minimums or covers. The Christmas cocktail menu was disappointing too, poor selections and way too sugary. Love the potential here, but the strict policies really turned me off and made me want to go elsewhere next time.

Due to the error of their end we asked for him to streamline our names on the waitlist and he became combative and told us that he was not comfortable serving us and asked us to leave. We spoke to the manager and they reiterated that they believe we had cancelled our reservation despite having proof that the hostess was the issue. Eventually after speaking to the general manager on duty he was able to magically find multiple open spots for us at the bar and was completely comfortable with serving us despite the allegations made by the hostess. And then after all that waiting, the bartenders were rude, asked us if we were the people causing all those problems at the front, and drinks were awful. Definitely not worth your time.
