Almost every time we come to Tampa, we make a trip to the Pearl. So many good gluten-free options from appetizers, meals, and even dessert. The fish and chips are huge but my husband shared with me. They even split the plate. The service is always good. The craft cocktails are well made. I am sure next time we visit we will be back.
Did not disappoint! A great addition to Water Street, less fancy than Bulon across the street. Great variety of fusion American. We had hangar steak with kimchi fried rice, Scallops and Beets salad. They were all great but the kimchi fried rice and Beets salads were exceptional Also recommend the smoked salmon as starters - it's a whole piece of smoked salmon and very very well done.
Came here with friends on Sunday for brunch. There was a wait but we were seated on a timely manner. Our server was awesome and attentive. Taking points off for the food: I ordered Shakshuka. Sad to say both of the eggs were overcooked and the tomatoes in the dish were too sour. I couldn't finish it. Overall, I expected better food.
I dined at The Pearl for the first time last night after looking forward to it for quite a while. My first impression was that the restaurant is beautiful, the decor, lighting, and large windows made it feel bright, open, and welcoming. The hostess was polite, though she seemed a bit stressed and not especially warm. One small downside was the seating. There were open booths by the window that I had hoped for, especially since I was dining with an out-of-town friend, but we were seated in a much darker area toward the back. Not a huge issue, just not the atmosphere I was hoping for. That said, the service was prompt, and the food and drinks were outstanding. Everything we ordered; drinks, appetizers, entrees and dessert was excellent, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu. A couple minor negatives: the bathrooms could have been cleaner and had an odor, and my first drink had a small bug in it and needed to be remade. It may be worth having the bar area checked for gnats. Overall though, it was still a great experience and definitely worth visiting.
My group and I visited Tampa for the BTS concert (of course) and were searching for a brunch place that served oysters. We went on a Saturday, which was bustling with people (always a good sign), so I recommend making a reservation beforehand. The food overall was as good as breakfast foods can get. It was good, but nothing out of the ordinary or anything so unique that made me want to come here again for brunch. The same sentiment goes for the oysters that we had. This restaurant does not do MP and has a fixed price of $13 for 3 oysters. The sizing of the oysters was on the small side, so it was a bit pricey, but our waitress offered to let us organize them by the regions in which they came from, so that was a nice touch. They were extremely fresh and very delicious. Now, we ordered the Thai Curry Mussels as an appetizer, but it stole the show. Easily the best dish in our spread. The curry sauce was seasoned perfectly, with a hint of sweetness from the bell peppers and saltiness from the mussels. It was the perfect combination of flavors. It is paired with a soft, buttery garlic bread that soaks up the curry quite well. The sauce was so delicious that we asked our waitress for some more bread to finish the sauce off! I would solely come back to this restaurant for this appetizer alone. Overall, the ambiance of the area was very nicely decorated, and the restaurant had soft lighting with large windows to let the sun come through. Our waitress, Cassidy, did a wonderful job. She was very attentive and definitely elevated our experience. + GET THE THAI CURRY MUSSELS, Y'ALL!!!
Had an amazing experience at The Pearl in Tampa yesterday. From the atmosphere to the food, everything truly felt Michelin-star worthy. Hector was a great server and was very knowledgeable of the menu! I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was phenomenal perfectly seasoned, flavorful, and cooked just right. I also tried pieces of the fish and chips, and the fish was incredibly delicate with a light, crispy crunch on the batter that made every bite stand out. Overall, the quality, presentation, and taste of everything we had were outstanding. Definitely a restaurant I'd return to I didn't get to try the oysters this was a quick trip but highly recommend if you're in Tampa looking for an elevated dining experience.
Stopped out here for a quick lunch on water street as it's been in my cross hairs for some time now, so glad I did! Tried a few quick bites a first for the oysters as well as the fried pickles, hands down the oysters were the best part, only complaint is there was only 3! Since I wasn't super hungry after that I just got the Cuban sandwich which, I have no complaints about. Bread was tasty and the flavor overall hit the spot! They had manhattans on the menu so I gave that a go, it wasn't exactly what I would expect for a manhattan as it was too sweet, but that's okay still good enough to drink! They do have large ice for my old fashioned friends if interested for an upcharge. One thing I didn't expect of this restaurant was how huge it really is, multiple dining rooms as well as outdoor seating. You shouldn't have any issue getting a table but can always reserve to be sure! Overall happy with the experience and would certainly go again
I at here twice while attending a conference - two different vendor group's. Food was good . I was not blown away by the food at either setting. One very large in a private room with a prix fix menu, one a group of four in the main dining area. Both times the service was great and drinks were good. But my steak the first night was over fine and the braised short rib the second night was good but not great. I did like the desserts and the large tater tot appetizer. Great ambiance.
Had a great time here once we actually made it to the restaurant. Our limo had some mechanical issues, so we called to let the hostess know and see if we can still come in late. She was so unhelpful and un sympathetic. Ended up just making a new reservation on open table...which means she could have just rescheduled us but choose not to help. Once we sat down however, our server Nick was phenomenal. He was funny, helpful and knowledgeable on the menu. I had the harbor salad which was perfect..fresh seafood and a tangy citrus dressing. Pairs well with the spoon cornbread appetizer. My friend had the mussels and said they were the best she ever had. All six of us loved our meals. Margarita was great. Espresso martini was a little too bitter but Nick fixed it with an extra shot of Baileys. Save room for the peanut butter dessert. Fun modern atmosphere. Will be back.
We had Desiree as our server and she was absolutely phenomenal and beyond kind. We also had I'm assuming the kitchen manager (whose name I did not catch, apologies) come to us and ask us how everything was. It was clean and such a beautiful spot. Beyond the already amazing oysters, clam chowder and Cuban sandwich we had, they were definitely GREAT people delivering genuine hospitality. Definitely coming back to bring my mom here (side note: I could bathe in that oyster butter)

Another fabulous brunch at The Pearl! Ever since my cousin was a chef here, I've come often because the food , service and ambiance are absolutely outstanding and I love the how beautiful the venue is. Great for brunch , lunch and dinner for any occasion , I highly recommend making reservations if coming in the weekend. Looking forward to my meet up here with my love , friends or colleagues this summer. read more
I was looking forward to this place! I've been here before and it was such a phenomenal experience. Today was different. The ambiance is still a vibe -- casual elegance with friendly staff. I was seated within 10 minutes. And the waits began. Between ordering, receiving my food, and being checked on, I felt forgotten multiple times -- went to the bar myself to get extra napkins. The food --though the flavors were there -- was not worth the $90 I spent. I got the deviled eggs (they are solid, but overpriced), cornbread -- why so $$?, shrimp and grits, and a slice of pie. The shrimp and grits are the real reason for the low rating of this post. The roux was grease/oil. I had to use a napkin to drain it. No one should consume that amount of grease/oil. Ever. The flavors were very good once I drained the oil. When I spend close to $100 on a meal, I either want exceptional food (not just good) or exceptional service. I got neither. read more

The Pearl is conveniently located near the Tampa Convention Center and is an ideal spot for an off-site business lunch. There is both inside and outside seating, as well as bar seating. We elected for bar seating and was greeted by the bartender. The space inside is cozy and there is sufficient room between tables to have conversation. I ordered the Chicken Salad for lunch. The chicken was well seasoned and cooked and the greens were crisp. The dressing used was also a great pairing with the chicken. On another note, I was impressed with the hygiene amenities in the bathrooms... mouthwash and tampons, all great touches! read more

Stopped in for brunch and had the blue berry pancakes which were delicious. The service was excellent. The ambiance was great, we had the entire place to ourselves due to arriving closer to opening time. The Pearl has a lot to offer! read more
Parking here is a challenge. We parked at Publix. Waited a few minutes with reso. Foood was tasty and hot. Not many options for non seafood people but wings were tasty. Dessert was super good. Trendy spot to be seen read more

Great location and guaranteed celebrity spotting. Good food and strong drinks. Serves are attentive even though it was very busy the Friday night we were there. I loved the feel of this place as it incorporates the bustling outdoors from most seats inside. read more

Back again. Still yummy. Deviled eggs were not as good as when the first opened. Just ok. GF fried fish was good. A little salty and a bit greasy tho. The GF buckeye was as to-die-for as always and I couldn't have been happier. Our waitress was awesome, friendly and fun. This restaurant is still cute and fun and smells amazing. The Pearl has one of my go-to salads, the Harbor Salad, loaded with fresh seafood that's super bright, clean, and flavorful without feeling heavy. Service is always friendly and quick, which I love, and the whole place feels a little more low key than other Water Street spots but still elevated enough to feel like a treat. I remember hearing that old line -- "location, location, location" -- and it popped into my head the moment we pulled up. Because at The Pearl, you're not just paying for a meal; you're paying for the whole Channelside experience. High‑end spot, high‑end area, and yes... you're paying for parking too. But once you're inside, you understand why. We went for Sunday brunch, and the service matched the setting -- polished, attentive, and exactly what you expect from a place that knows its worth. The food was delicious across the board, but my chicken and waffles were on another level. The chicken was seasoned perfectly, the waffle tasted like it was made from real ingredients -- not that "add water and hope for the best" mix. You could tell someone in that kitchen actually cares about what they're sending out. It wasn't a cheap meal, but it felt like money spent on quality time with family and friends, not just a bill you regret later. Good food, good service, good atmosphere -- and in a spot like Channelside, that combination is exactly what you're paying for. read more

Nice spot for a lunch if you are in the area, but not a spot I would choose for the restaurant itself, mostly because of the challenging parking situation. Fried pickles were good. Not something, I usually order these days but my friend had never had a fried pickle. I love tater tots and this was a unique take on them. My Harbor Salad was good, but they initially forgot the seafood so they compensated by giving me a little extra. The best is that we were catching up and never felt rushed even though we were there for a while. The place was comfortable and perfect for enjoying the company of a friend I had not seen in a long time. read more
Ordered an after brunch drink at the bar & it was so delish & refreshing. Hard to snag seats here as it's always full to the max at all times, however, was finally able to get seats out of the million times I've walked by to try to see if I could get a spot at the bar. The bar service was spectacular. Very attentive & offer great suggestions on drinks. Really exceptional service compared to anywhere else downtown especially close by. Love the vibe and the way this restaurant is decorated. Second time at this restaurant and we are always treated kindly by the hostess and server. Ordered the fish and chips. Fish was lightly breaded, flaky and not greasy. The fries were perfection. May I say that the unsweetened, fresh brewed ice tea is perfect. Highly recommend The Pearl for a date night, girls dinner or a stop before the hockey game. read more
Great experience! We came to the pearl for a group dinner before a wedding party. We ordered different drinks which were brought out promptly, and when we were close to finished they always made sure we had another if we chose. The food was delicious we got the scallops, chicken, harbor salad, and Cuban and everything tasted great. Great spot if you want lighter or heavier options, seafood and a different vibe! read more
Let me start with this: when you walk into a Michelin-star restaurant and the 16-time heavyweight champion Ric Flair is casually posted up at the bar, you know you're in for a night. I half expected him to chop the bartender and yell "WOOOO!" every time someone ordered a cocktail. Honestly, it was the peak of the evening before we even sat down. The Pearl leans hard into its oyster-bar identity--beautiful décor, great lighting, ambience that whispers "classy seafood" rather than "old bay and chaos." Right away, the service was excellent, attentive without hovering, and friendly without slipping into "I'm auditioning for Bravo" energy. Now, the food. Very good... but Michelin? Let's just say I've felt more Michelin after a well-executed airport meal. I started with the beet salad, and let me tell you: they were not stingy with the beets. If you've ever wondered what it's like to be personally attacked by root vegetables, this is your moment. My colleague had the burger, declared it delicious, and gave it that satisfied nod people do when the price doesn't haunt them. Another colleague got the seafood salad, which she rated a confident "good," the same tone you use when someone shows you pictures of their kids that look like other kids. And then there was the colleague who ordered the sea bass over gnocchi special. The portion size? Let's just say I've seen larger appetizers, airline snacks, and possibly communion wafers. I had the redfish, which was seasoned perfectly--chefs kiss. The vegetables beneath it? Cooked until they surrendered. Full soggy diplomacy. Drinks were tasty but priced as if Ric Flair himself squeezed the limes with his championship belt on. Dessert was an emotional roller coaster. * Chocolate cream pie: tasted like something you'd slide into your cart at Publix while telling yourself you'll only eat half. * Cobbler in a jar: One of the best things I've ever tasted. I would happily fight Ric Flair for the last one, and I'm pretty sure he'd win. All in all? Four stars. A very good meal, tons of fun, a random celebrity sighting, and moments of brilliance--just not quite the transcendent Michelin experience the hype promises. But still... WOOOO. read more

This is my go to for a good caesar ! I love anchovies and not a lot of places have caesar salad with actual anchovies! So it's always a delight to go here! They have happy hour from 2-5 M-F. It consist of 3 off starters and appetizers and 2 oysters. The oysters I had were from MA and were a good balance of brine and sweet. The jalapeño spoon bread is also a must try! For a double date, this was a great spot. We were seated in the side room, which had a romantic vibe and was perfect for the mood, although not the best if you're looking to take pictures. The cornbread appetizer was exceptional, and the butter was OMG good. The deviled eggs were a miss for me--I wouldn't order them again, although the presentation was really cool. The redfish was absolute perfection and is something I would definitely get again. I also ordered the Right on Thyme mocktail that was surprisingly good and honestly could have passed for a cocktail. My husband ordered the salmon, but it isn't pictured because he ate it so fast. We visited during an event, so I highly recommend taking an Uber or checking the event schedule before you go because parking was extremely hard and expensive. We also took the brown sugar pie to-go and wouldn't order it again. Service was okay. Hostess made no eye contact when speaking to her and server wasn't bad, but not particularly memorable either. read more

Great meal. Took my group of 6 coworkers here with a last minute reservation before we walked over. They sat us right away at a round table so conversation was easy, even with the big group and a few introverts. New Orleans style chargrilled oysters, deviled eggs, Caesar salad, beet salad, fish and chips.... Then I convinced my coworkers to get one of every pie and do the take-a-bite-and-pass thing. Genius. We couldn't agree on a favorite because they were all so good, but since I love fruit I fought for the last few bites of peaches + cream and apple. My coworkers like the brown sugar most, but also the Mississippi mud for the chocolate lovers. Can't really go wrong. I only ended up with a picture of one oyster because we were so hungry and scarfed everything else too fast. Really excellent meal. Great to impress someone. Great experience. Service could have been a tad faster but it's because we came during a rush and it still wasn't long enough of a wait to bother us. read more
First time patron, and I loved the atmosphere. This might be the first place in over 2 years that we could actually find a seat at the bar and enjoy a drink before our dinner reservation. I ordered a lemon drop martini, which looked great, but wasn't my favorite. I didn't like the shape of the glass as it was harder to drink from than a regular martini glass. The menu has a nice variety of entrees. The 4 of us decided to share the cornbread appetizer. It was good cornbread, but had no kick to it as described. I chose the braised short ribs for my entree as I can never resist when I see it on a menu. I was happy they let us enjoy the cornbread before they brought our entree. Food arrived nice and hot and mined looked great. The short ribs were so tender and the vegetables were very tasty. The horseradish mashed potatoes were the disappointment. Just a creamy blob with little taste, certainly not horseradish. We shared a cherry pie for dessert which was decent. Service was very good throughout our dinner. Would definitely return. read more

Fancy little spot downtown. Liked the ambiance a lot. I got a bloody mary. It was made to mychoice of spice level and served with a miller high life. Very quite tasty and came with bacon! We shared some apps. The deviled eggs had a wild presentation. Corn bread was to die for with the butter and honey. Went with fish and chips as my main but still got to sneak a bite of my friends chicken and waffles. The fish was nicely fried. Decent portion. I also thouht the chicken and waffles were good too. My friend thought the waffle was too soft though. It lacked those crisp edges but it didn't bother me. Service was very good. Prices are on the high end but nice place to treat yourself. They do have an oyster happy hour that I would love to do one day. To me, the biggest flaw of this place is the location. Trying to find parking when the streets are partially blocked during an event, due to the port, etc. It's a nightmare for me. Prepare yourself for that and then you will have a good meal! read more
I was so excited to visit...so before the game tonight we decided to have a quick bite. Maybe the issue was ...we didn't order seafood?. We got seated right away, outside..we loved it. The ambiance is so cute, our waitress really nice and also fast. We ordered the burger and grilled cheese and also the pumpkin pie (really good). The burger, I ordered medium rare and it was done. No big deal, but the flavor overall was the cambozola cheese, the meat had none. Fries were good. The grilled cheese..we weren't expecting the regular GC and we love brie and jam but the combination with the pesto, it was too much, the bread had too much butter so the flavor was butter, pesto and a sweet aftertaste. The salad that came with it, too bitter. The food i cant say it was bad or not edible..it was just below average. Too much fat and no flavor I would probably come back and have some seafood, the service and overall is absolutely really nice read more

This is a must-try restaurant on Water Street! We parked in a nearby parking garage since street parking is limited, which worked out perfectly. We had reservations and were seated right away. The interior was spotless and had a great ambiance. Our server, Nick, was fantastic. He recommended the garlic shrimp appetizer, and it was some of the best I've ever had. For my entrée, I ordered the grouper special, and it was absolutely incredible. I really hope they make it a permanent menu item because I would come back just for that dish alone. My boyfriend had the steak and loved his meal as well. Nick consistently checked on us throughout the evening and made sure we never had to wait long for anything. The service, food, and atmosphere all came together for an amazing experience. I can't wait to come back and try more from their menu! read more

Not trying to be a Karen- just providing some feedback! Ambiance- pretty loud. Way too many tables slammed into a very small space- decor is fine. Very loud old school pop playing- think Brittney spears, the pussy cat dolls? Made the place feel cheap. by the way- I'm 29- I fee this is necessary context Music can really elevate a joint and it just made it feel too casual for 50$ entrees. Bathrooms were dirty- trash needed to be taken out. As a former host in fine dining- this is unacceptable Service was okay. Server did their job, nothing more lol. As a former server- I don't blame them Food: we got the jalapeño corn bread app. Detected no spice, butter on the side was not seasoned so it was just bland. The cornbread was incredibly dry- flavorless. We were starving so we ate it- not expecting a refund or anything but the server asked how it was and we politely let her know it was very dry. To which she replied "oh, okay!" And walked away haha. Wild. Wild times. I love Tampa!!!!!!! Anyway- entrees were pretty decent! My roasted chicken had clearly hung out under a heat lamp for too long, ruining the execution of the dish. Chicken was dry and the jus at the base congealed from sitting too long. My side salad / roasted potatoes was under whelming- cook on the veg was nice- I got exactly 3 halved baby potatoes. :) my husbands steak was well seasoned and cooked. Portions were solid. Left full. We didn't grab drinks or dessert. Maybe this would've changed our experience! Most important part of this review: valet is advertised on the site. There is no valet. We had to park in a garage and walk in the rain. Again- 100$ for 2 entrees and one app is crazy work for and overall mediocre experience and no valet. Wont be back! As a local- Tampa is so overrated. Enjoyed the scallop and red fish dishes, but the scallop meal was a bit light. The chocolate mudd pie and the key lime pie were okay, not extraordinary, but a nice change for restaurant dessert offerings. Service was a bit slow for a Sunday, but the waiter was nice. read more
2 years later. Stopped in again last week twice while visiting Tampa. I ordered the burger (loved it) & hubby ordered the Cuban (it was ok). The second time I sat at the bar and ordered a chicken sandwich (it has a slight kick to it!). Service was fine both times; not overly friendly but not awful. Food was served hot. Cute place (has indoor & outdoor seating) but gets VERY busy on the weekends so grab a reservation. read more
A stylish and warm restaurant space that serves delicious cocktails and seafood with many gluten-free options, the Pearl is a blissful find in downtown Tampa that will allow you to live your best culinary life and then some. In town for my wife's birthday celebrations, I picked the Pearl because it offered a multitude of gluten-free options for food items my wife normally can't enjoy such as fried oysters and fish and chips. Moreover, we savored other normal mainstays we have had elsewhere that were very tasty such as the Old Fashioned Deviled Eggs, peel and eat Gulf Shrimp, a nd sea scallops. All of which were very delightful and brought us to a place of culinary greatness. The Chicken Wing Confit was also a high standout, tossed with Gochujang Buffalo Sauce and served with Blue Cheese Dip. The Fried Oysters made gluten free were exquisite and delectable as well as the gluten free Great Lakes Fish N Chips, which was quite filling. The Sea Scallops were also a highlight, served with Corn Purée, Roasted Tomato, and Charred Green Beans. For cocktails, I enjoyed my standard extra dirty gin martini (with Hendricks) in addition to house-created standouts like the Duke of Pearl (Old Forester, Dry Vermouth, Lemon, Earl Grey, Black Pepper) and the Bourbon, Bacon, Boozy (Fat-Washed Maker's Mark, Brown Sugar, Peychaud's Bitters, Candied Bacon). The latter especially was absolutely magical. An absolute visit on Water Street in downtown Tampa, The Pearl is a repeat visit spot that will allow you to enjoy yourself every time. read more

Wowzers!!!! The food was top notch. We had the Bloody Marys, deviled eggs, chicken and waffles along with the seafood towers all I can say is this place will be on my list next time in Tampa. Thank you to Jeff and Alex for taking phenomenal care of us. We noticed how well they each worked together and paid attention to everyone's needs at all times. Very professional. read more
