We came in tonight for the advance screening of a new Apple TV+ series The Mosquito Coast…read more Unexpectedly, we liked the film and definitely worth following the next coming episodes. I signed up right away to the drive-in site for future events notification. We are familiar in the area so getting to the drive-in is not a hassle at all. There are friendly staff members who guided the movie goers for effective parking and pleasurable viewing. The movie theater location is in the New York Hall of Science parking lot and the screen is fronting a good view of Terrace on the Park. The adaptable comfort zone is clean, convenient and follows Covid protocol. Luckily, we received a complimentary snack box courtesy of Apple TV+. The film is a free event too. Let's support the cause of this drive -in theater. It gives pleasure two ways.

I can't believe we get to do this for free. To have one right in our borough, in our very crowded city, is such a treat. And it was all free. The second time we went we even got free treats left on our windshield. The staff was amazing. They led us through the maze of metal barricades and cones to the viewing area, made sure we were parked appropriately on the lawn, good enough to view the screen perfectly straight on, and helped us to turn all of our lights off. When we weren't able to tune them all off while still listening to the movie audio on our radio, they came around and lent us a portable radio. That way we could turn the car completely off and listen to the movie audio from their borrowed radio. There was also a food stand, but we had dinner beforehand and brought our own snacks, so we didn't order from them. All in all, a pretty awesome experience for the whole family. Thanks to all the staff and organizations that made it possible!

Great little independent theater in a cute little town!…read more I saw "Anora" here yesterday (highly recommended BTW) in the smaller theater, which has ~12 seats and all of the chairs are huge, super comfy private theater-style seats. They show smaller, Indie films in this room usually. About as close to a private screening as you can get. There's also a much bigger, more conventional theater which shows blockbuster movies that most go to see. Pretty great spot and they have steep discounts (50% Off) on Mondays & Tuesdays which is a plus!

While my go-tos in Westchester are Alamo Drafthouse and Jacob Burns Film Center, the Pelham Picture House is a place that is deep in the archives of my mind, having been there a few times when I was younger. I was off the other day and figured I would catch a movie, and since they were playing one I was meaning to see, I made my way over. Pelham Picture House is located in the main commercial hub of the town, among a number of other businesses. I remember coming here a couple of times when I was younger - I believe I saw Casper here during its initial theatrical run. I really love the exterior - it has a retro feel and the neon signage was the cherry on top. The box office is located right before you enter and they have a concession stand immediately to your left after you entering. There are technically two screens in this theater, though I feel they may have added the second one later on. The main theater is large, almost auditorium like with many seats. The second theater is off to the side - it kind of looks like a room that was used for something else at first - the screen is one of those roll-down projector types, and the seats look like ones you wound find in a home theater. I was in the latter theater (called the Screening Room) - it was comfortable but not what I was expecting. The theater as a whole provided a comfortable experience, but it can definitely use some love - a lot of the fixtures and aesthetics are old and worn. I could see where some renovations were done but a lot of it can use some sprucing up. Hopefully as time goes on we will see more improvements to the space, I feel it's really important to have local theaters that show independent and art house films. Customers service was great, and overall I had a good experience rediscovering Pelham Picture House. I would have no qualms returning, and would in fact seek it out if they're showing a film I want to see. It's really great to see theaters like this still standing in Westchester.

Patrons are respectful of others here. The QR-menu ordering system was problematic, awkward, and time consuming. I imagine if you're an Alamo Drafthouse regular who is locked-in on what to order and memorized the process already, nbd. But it was a hassle for me. Plus, I used to enjoy the brief but pleasant interactions with the staff during the ordering process. Also, at this particular location the bathrooms could be a bit cleaner.

I've wanted to go to Alamo ever since they came to NY with their first Williamsburg location…read more Didn't even realize there was one in Westchester, however saw the signage 1 day when driving around Yonkers. Finally got an excuse with the Super Mario brothers movie to come by. 'Cool' is the word when it comes for what they're going for with Alamo. It's located in the back of a shopping center with ample parking, however the decor is very nice inside. They had a headless horseman figure, a well designed lobby, clean bathrooms, and a few games for the kids. Also had a Super Mario poster kids could take pics in front of. Bar looked great too. They like their retro vibes, and the old school Mario cartoons/shows before the movie was a nice touch; saw some Godzilla stuff I might come back for too. Food was easy to order from your seat. Why only 3 stars? Service was very uneven. My food and my son's food came out immediately, however my wife's food (and a side of sauce for me) took 20min. I flagged this multiple times in the app without acknowledgement, so eventually grabbed someone only to get a boilerplate answer of 'we're working on everyone's food'. Luckily her food came independently right after, but she was starving so not a great experience. My food was cold when it came, however the boneless chicken wings were very good. Still sucked for her. My beer was also flat when it arrived, however I do t expect the world there when it comes to a theater (although if they poured it with more head it might've been fine). Lastly, my chair's back didn't recline much, which prevented me from the nap I planned to take during this movie. Could've been worse, however also could've been better. I am open to going Alamo 1 more shot, however might be just for me and friends versus a family. They really need to work on the operational back end here, as the place is cool as hell and I'd love to be a regular if they had things together.
