Alamo Drafthouse Yonkers is hands down one of the best movie experiences around. It's a dine-in theater with a super comfortable vibe--and the new recliners take it to the next level. I love that you can just hit a button whenever you're ready to order, and a server comes right to you. It makes everything smooth and hassle-free, which really adds to the overall experience. The throwback movies are a huge bonus--there's nothing like catching a classic on the big screen. The food is solid too--you can't go wrong with the pizza or burgers. I usually come early just to grab a beer before the movie. They have an awesome tap selection, but my go-to is the Now Youse Can't Leave a great local brew. All in all, a top-tier movie night spot with great food, drinks, and atmosphere. read more

I've wanted to go to Alamo ever since they came to NY with their first Williamsburg location. Didn't even realize there was one in Westchester, however saw the signage 1 day when driving around Yonkers. Finally got an excuse with the Super Mario brothers movie to come by. 'Cool' is the word when it comes for what they're going for with Alamo. It's located in the back of a shopping center with ample parking, however the decor is very nice inside. They had a headless horseman figure, a well designed lobby, clean bathrooms, and a few games for the kids. Also had a Super Mario poster kids could take pics in front of. Bar looked great too. They like their retro vibes, and the old school Mario cartoons/shows before the movie was a nice touch; saw some Godzilla stuff I might come back for too. Food was easy to order from your seat. Why only 3 stars? Service was very uneven. My food and my son's food came out immediately, however my wife's food (and a side of sauce for me) took 20min. I flagged this multiple times in the app without acknowledgement, so eventually grabbed someone only to get a boilerplate answer of 'we're working on everyone's food'. Luckily her food came independently right after, but she was starving so not a great experience. My food was cold when it came, however the boneless chicken wings were very good. Still sucked for her. My beer was also flat when it arrived, however I do t expect the world there when it comes to a theater (although if they poured it with more head it might've been fine). Lastly, my chair's back didn't recline much, which prevented me from the nap I planned to take during this movie. Could've been worse, however also could've been better. I am open to going Alamo 1 more shot, however might be just for me and friends versus a family. They really need to work on the operational back end here, as the place is cool as hell and I'd love to be a regular if they had things together. read more

My family and I have loved Alamo Drafthouse for years because it's one of the few theaters where you can truly disconnect and enjoy a movie without phones and distractions. Unfortunately, our visit tonight was a mess due to the new QR-code ordering system. Instead of the usual paper menus and order cards, the theater was filled with guests trying to scan codes and use their phones, lighting up screens all over the room--the exact thing Alamo has always tried to prevent. To make matters worse, the system wasn't working for many people. My family couldn't place an order at all, and I had to leave the theater and go to the front desk to order while multiple guests shared a single physical menu. I ended up missing the first 20 minutes of the movie. The only bright spot was the staff. Justin and Nick handled an impossible situation with impressive professionalism while trying to help a room full of confused guests. We love Alamo and hope they reconsider this system--it really undermines the phone-free movie experience that makes this theater special. read more

My friend and I have been here many times since they opened over the years. We got there 15 minutes early and ordered through the phone. My friend ordered 2 waters and a soda for each of us as well as truffle parm popcorn for me and fried pickles and she tried the honey thyme wings. We received one water and asked for another which we didn't receive until 10 minutes before the movie ended. The sodas were fine and the food came out fine. I asked for a refill of my popcorn which I had to keep pushing the button since it was taking awhile. I was brought plain which I barely ate and after the movie approached the wait staff who fixed it and added seasoning and packed it up in a box for me. It was quiet as usual despite it being a kids movie but there were kids running down the aisle of the theater but that was the inly disruption. I love that the Alamo has strict rules. read more

(The emptiness still scares me a little about where theaters are going!) I was impressed by the size of the menu and the cleanliness of the theater. The system for ordering food is pretty straightforward. My cocktails weren't too strong. Next time, I'd probably get a beer. My chicken sandwich was good, but the Caesar wrap was a bit too unwieldy to eat. Skip the fried cauliflower; it was too saucy and soggy. Comfy seats, of course. Since Friday was half Day for the kids , best time to attend the movie was the earliest (2:30) of course must try the special menu dedicated to Wicked. Great menu /food/ service. I am a member and been coming for the last two years. Your food use to be the best but in the last year you've took multiple favorites off the menu Philly cheese and Fish and chips. How do you take the best items off the menu. Yet this menu really lacks consistency. Examples I love your churro popcorn but depending who is making the batch your popcorn will always come out different. Today I received Cold popcorn no seasoning hard ass Churros pieces compared to hot well seasoned buttered popcorn with crunchy warm churros my last visit. My first time having the Chicken Sandwich it was hot and well seasoned very juicy. Came today and chicken patty was so big and it was very hard to bite into them chewy (not Cooked through) and no flavor missing my pickle as stated on the menu. Food came out within 5 mins fries where hot sandwich was cold only a lil squirt of ketchup in the plastic container. Asked for ketchup it came out 20 minutes later. Just ate my fries. I was genuinely excited to visit Alamo Drafthouse in Yonkers for the first time and finally see Wicked: For Good after waiting so long. The food was great, my drink was perfect, and my initial server --a young woman with natural hair--was incredibly kind. I was actually really impressed... until everything took a turn. In the middle of the movie, I quietly checked my phone with the brightness all the way down and no sound, tucked under the table. When I ordered my second drink, the server who came by (I believe his name was Josh, a heavier-set man with a beard and hat on and maybe glasses) decided to scold me (a grown woman with two children) and told me I "needed to get off my phone." Then he added that if I needed to check on my kids, I should step outside of the theater. The back-and-forth he initiated was far more disruptive than anything I was doing. I wasn't texting with the screen lit up, I wasn't being loud, I wasn't bothering anyone--my phone was under the table on the dimmest setting possible. The way he handled it was unnecessary, condescending, and completely ruined my experience. I walked in excited and impressed, and left annoyed, embarrassed, and honestly furious. Came here for the first time on a Monday night with hubby and kids. Food was good, but the service was on point! Naia ( not sure how to spell her name) was very kind and attentive. I own a restaurant and if I wasn't so far from Yonkers I would offer her a job :) She came over to us to take our order before movie started and checked back few times during the movie. Only negative: I ordered banana pie and received key lime instead. I found out later they were out. Dear Corporate Team, I don't even know where to begin. I am writing as a long-time, loyal customer who brings my family regularly and has always loved the experience. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was by far the worst experience I have ever had, and it has left me extremely disappointed. I typically spend $200-$300 each visit without hesitation because the atmosphere and service have always been worth it. The nostalgic feel is something special that keeps us coming back. However, this visit was completely different--and not in a good way. We arrived on time (about 4 minutes before the movie started) and were seated in rows 4 and 5. Right away, things felt off. When I tried to place a drink order with the waiter, I was told to scan a QR code and order everything myself. This was frustrating, especially since there are signs about not using phones during the movie. As the movie began, I was stuck navigating the app, trying to input orders for my entire family. The process was time-consuming and confusing. Items we normally order--like chips and queso and wings--were no longer available, and there was no clear way to ask for help since I couldn't find a call button. I had to awkwardly get the waiter's attention. It took about 15 minutes just to place the order due to entering full card details and managing multiple requests. During this time, I completely missed the beginning of the movie. When drinks finally arrived, they were all brought to me instead of being distributed properly based on seating. I had to get up and pass everything around, which disrupted not only my experience but likely others as well. The food service only got worse from there: * The chips and "beer queso" arrived cold. * The replacement came without the proper toppings, and I was told the kitchen was already closed. * Food orders were again all delivered to me instead of to the correct seats. * My daughter never received her cookies, yet I was still charged for them. * My husband and I never received our pizza at all. We had to step outside during the movie to speak with a manager (who was kind and tried to help), only to be told the kitchen had already closed. No one informed us of this earlier. By the time replacement food (buffalo tenders and fries) arrived, the movie had already ended and the lights were on. To make matters worse, my receipt shows $137, but I was actually charged $182.09. This is unacceptable and needs to be corrected immediately. I understand businesses evolve and staffing can be challenging, but this new system is not working. It takes away from the entire experience that made us loyal customers in the first place. If necessary, I would rather pay higher prices than deal with this level of inconvenience and poor service. At this point, I am seriously reconsidering returning, which is disappointing given how much we used to enjoy coming here. Please review this situation, address the service issues, and correct my billing discrepancy. I have a copy of my receipt and can provide my bank statement if needed. This used to be such a cool place but it's gone so far downhill. The food used to be genuinely good and they always had creative specials - they do the specials less now and the food quality is absolute garbage to the point you'd rather just not eat. These theaters are great if you want a dining and movie experience. We came here to watch a movie with our child and several of his friends. They each got to order what they wanted, and the adults were able to order beverages. The staff bring the drinks and food to you while you are watching. It can get pricey, but it is a pleasant experience. A few of their theaters have only 20 seats, these are not the huge theaters that other places offer. The seats are comfortable and the food is not bad for a theater. Great drink selection for those that want to have a drink and enjoy a movie. read more

I recently visited the Alamo Drafthouse in Yonkers and had a positve experience! The manager was very helpful with a gift card that wasn't working correctly and made sure my family received a promo item for the film we were attending since he didn't think they would still be in stock by showtimes for us. The theater's strict no-talking/no device policy during screenings was a nice change of pace, and it felt like the staff would do a fine job enforcing it. The food menu has a good selection of options to enjoy during the movie, but it can get a little pricey. It's not a fine dining experience, but was tasty enough. One of my companions likened it to a "Step up from a quick bite at Applebees or Houlihan's" which seemed accurate. I got a kick out of the pre-show which played retro trailers that were programmed specifically for the film we were seeing, which added a nice touch to the overall experience. A perfect example that merely slapping a logo on a building, does not an Alamo Drafthouse make. We arrived early to grab drinks at the bar, because ya know, it's also a drafthouse? Well they were incapable of serving us because there wasn't a bartender? Felt like a waste having gotten there early for drinks and we were unable to do so. We sit down, and I immediately notice there are no lights to view the menus, under the tables which I've always seen in Alamos, and helps a lot and prevents patrons from annoying others by use of phones. I start writing our order on the paper, and before I could finish, a waiter approaches. It was then that I realized that the whole paper/order norm has gone out the window. Typically, waiters only approach you when there is a paper sticking up with your order on it. Because this step was disregarded, I knew then that they probably weren't going to be making their way back to us once the movie started. I wanted to be wrong! But I was right. I had ordered a bottomless popcorn and really wanted a refill, and more than halfway through the flick, I had to get up and track down anyone who could help. So annoying. The biggest thing though that I found shocking was the lack of curated pre-movie, thematic shorts that are so fun, so iconic, and so unique to the Alamo experience. How could that detail have been missed?!? If you know, you know. It's such a blast to be waiting for your movie and get to watch curated previews and movies clips that get you in the mood! So sad. I'd probably go back but greatly minimize my expectations. read more

This place has always towed the line for me, but I loved having a zero tolerance location to watch movies. Unfortunately that seems to be more of a gimmick these days. I used to come here all the time before the renovation, and while it was never perfect, it was a far better experience than what I've had post renovation. People were talking left and right, there was a weird flashing above the screen that drove everyone in our party crazy. It was insanely distracting. The wait for the food was astonishing. My husband and I ordered a lemonade and a popcorn about 5 min before your movie started to hold us over for our planned dinner afterwards. I kid you not they dropped down our drink 45 min into the movie, and the popcorn nearly an hour in. As much as I hate having to stream everything, it just isn't worth the aggravation of going to the theater anymore. read more

First time visiting they have a bar!!! Had me at bar . I came to see Dr strange and we started off with drinks I got an old fashioned very refreshing. I also got to try some of their tap beers . For food we got mozzarella sticks and the pizza called ANGRY PEPPERONI It was very delicious pickled jalapeños, roasted garlic, red chili flakes, and fresh basil. Oh, and pepperoni. Let me start by saying that I love Alamo Drafthouse and it is my favorite theater chain. Their no phone/ talking policy makes it the best moviegoing experience. Their food is delicious and their theaters are clean. We love attending their specialty screenings like the Cornetto Trilogy, or Night of the Living Dead on Halloween. They only lose a star because the last few times we've visited they've forgot items that we've ordered and/or never came back to take another order card / refills before the check arrives. My love for this place is why it got 3 stars. I hope I'm just writing about a really bad day and not the current state of a once great movie theatre. I'm a cinefile, when this place opened I ran. It was my favorite place in westchester for years, which is why I had the movie pass, commandant level, and other perks. That said, I went to see Nosferatu on 12/27 and I could barely focus on the film. I was writing this review in my head the entire time and I've waited a few weeks before posting. I arrived to the theater and luckily there was plenty of parking. The lobby was not busy, but there was no staff manning the floor. The cell service has always been a problem so I had my app and ticket ready. My husband and I found our theatre and our seats. It was 3:45 showtime, in the third row of an almost sold out film. Christmas week is notoriously busy for films. That said, the floor was sticky, there were no pens or cards within 3 seats of us. We got up and grabbed from another table and hit our buttons (which spoiler: were not answered once). I had our order card ready 15 minutes before showtime, at which point the theatre was about 50% full. In the 15 minutes leading to the movie, one waiter went to the first row. The trailers started, lights went down, and as the quiet, gothic horror started-- the wait staff arrived! With lights and loud voices, walking and couching up and down in front of everyone during the first few minutes. Oh and taking credit cards! In the old days, waiters typically came by to check tickets (ours were never checked) and take your first order-- a basic check in. The prices have risen but the treatment of customers has declined. It was then that the staff realized that many people didn't have pens and paper so they spent more of the quiet film dealing with that. We ordered two cups of water, and two cauliflower plates. This took over 45 minutes including the water while I watched popcorn and booze be passed to others. The fries were cold and the cauliflower bites were ok. I used to run here for the food. Back in the days of tofu on salads and the OG (and better) queso. The staff was friendly, it seemed to be poor theatre management overall. Not sure if it was just a terrible day...but it's not what I used to come here for frequently. I loved the film, but then the final straw-- the bathroom. Absolutely DISGUSTING. Pee on the floors, first two stalls were clogged, and no toilet paper in the other stalls. Lines were built while the women were trying to pass what little was found under stalls. The soap dispensers were mostly empty, water all over the counter and floor and the paper towel dispenser also empty. Staff left a roll sitting on the edge of the wet sink. I'm sad even writing this. I love this place so much and hope it one day returns to its former glory for the movie lovers. read more

I had a miserable experience at Alamo Drafthouse Yonkers tonight. The couple next to me talked loudly the whole show and cursed any anybody who tried to shush them. Alamo has a "one warning, then you're kicked out" policy, so I signaled for the staff. The server said they'd kick us both out if we called him again, so the couple knew they were safe, and kept talking for the rest of the movie. Miserable experience. I visited Alamo (Yonkers) today, 2/15, to watch Paddington with my daughter; the 2:45 movie. After visiting this theater for over a decade, this is the first time I've ever had a horrible experience. I arrived 15 minutes prior to the movie commencing and patiently waited to order my food. The service passed by us and told us he'd be right back to take our order. Some time passes and the movie begins. I press the button located on our table because it seems that no one returned to take our order. He finally arrives about 15-20 minutes into the movie and takes our order which consisted of the harissa chicken sandwich, a plain fried chicken sandwich, popcorn, a Diet Coke, a Coke, and mozzarella sticks. The popcorn arrive first, sodas second. My harissa chicken sandwich arrives third then followed the mozzarella sticks. My daughter's meal no where to be found. I share my fries with her as she waits. I reach for my sandwich and it is cold. We still wait for her meal. It is now 4:22pm and still no chicken sandwich meal. I press the button and get greeted with a nasty "you want something?" I say yes my daughters meal never came. This other server responds -and again with a nasty tone- "and that was?" I tell her and I also asked if my sandwich could be reheated. She looks at me as if I have two heads and reiterates my question "REHEATED?! Yeah, we don't do that" and she takes my plate. Now a few moment before the check comes and film almost ends is when we receive our food. I look at the check and I am being charged for 4 meals (double of both). The movie ends and I go up to the cashier and ask if someone can modify my receipt, to remove the additional meals that were not ordered. The server then asks the I'm assuming manager, what I was complaining about. The manager states that I was charged twice. The server proceeds to state it was because I "complained" that my sandwich was cold. Oh yeah? Is this how we treat local customers? I'd understand being vindictive over me returning my untouched harissa but why charge twice for a meal you forgot about? I'm so disappointed with the customer service today and hope that those two servers can receive training on proper etiquette. The movie theatre aspect is great! Super comfy recliner leather seats, great sound, quality image. The staff here were wonderful. Our waitress was Brianna, and she was very kind and attentive. For food we ordered the chicken sandwich and the pickle spears. The pickle spears were very crispy, flavorful, and the sauce was a perfect pair. However the crispy chicken sandwich was lacking in many areas. I thought the sandwich was quite dry and it tasted somewhat stale. I would definately come back, but I would probably stick to order appetizers here. Overall great movie theatre experience, but it's okay to skip the food! read more

I came here to see a movie during the weekend. The theatre itself is nice, spacious, and clean, but the point is supposed to be that it is also a dinner theatre. Before the film began, I ordered a pizza from their long list of pizzas. The waitress came by ten minutes later to say they had no pizzas. I ordered an appetizer instead. Of course, the appetizer never came. Even at one point, I stopped the waitress after she served the person next to me, and she said my appetizer was coming. The appetizer, of course, never came, but she gave me a check for it. I then had to wait for her to come back and flag her down again and say I wasn't paying for food I didn't receive. All of this while trying to watch a movie! If you can't serve food accurately during a movie, just don't do it. read more

I don't go to Alamo Drafthouse expecting fine dining or to be waited on hand and foot. I also don't expect to have their server standing in front of me in the middle of the movie lecturing me about all the reasons I'm "rude" for wanting to know why the cheeseburger I ordered at the same time as my 3 friends, all of whom got their food about 60 minutes ago, was not yet there. Here are things this server can try in the future: acknowledge that something may have gone wrong. Apologize. Don't stand in the middle of a theater of people trying to watch a movie and lecture someone with a plainly valid concern. Don't call a hangry person whose food is extremely delayed "rude" when they ask where their food is. If you just told them 5 minutes ago you were working on it, maybe. If you told them you were working on it almost an hour ago, not so much, that person deserves an update if they ask, not a lecture on their rudeness. And I mean "lecture": this happened over two incredibly lengthy interactions, with her standing in front of a crowd of people trying to watch a movie. It was bizarre. All I needed to hear was some acknowledgement that there was maybe a problem (there very clearly was). Anyway I eventually got my food and didn't have the displeasure of another mid-movie public lecture. I can't even imagine how irritating that must have been for everyone else trying to watch the movie. I feel bad for my part in it. The hanger was getting the best of me and I didn't know how to respond to the server's weirdly defensive approach to the situation. It's a lovely theatre, the food was good, the movie was great, and clearly something went wrong with my order, and only mine, -- my companions were served very promptly, zero complaints -- so I have nothing but positive things to say about the place, but I don't think I'll be going back for awhile lest I run into this delightful server again. read more

This company really stinks. I had purchased tickets for a 11/21 2pm showing of Wicked as a surprise. My partner could not make it and I entered the nightmare of trying to get a refund or credit. Web site says easy refunds but they are lying. I purchased the tickets on line but not through the app, so I am unable to get refunded that way. No one answers the phone when you call. Site also says go to the theatre (which opens at 11am on the website) for refund. So I drive to the theatre and it's not open! I wait and knock for 10 minutes (in the rain but that is not their fault) Finally the general MGR comes to the door saying he can't help me and they are not open and that I have to call the theatre for refund after 1pm. It certainly seems like they go out of their way to make a refund. It's crazy that the web site offers no direct way to ask for refund, credit. Then list that they are open at 11am but really not open till 1pm!? What a runaround. So I'm out $30 because I'm tired of chasing this apathetic company. read more

This seems like a great concept. Watch a movie in a theatre, while being served food and drinks. Unfortunately, Alamo Drafthouse is unable to pull it off. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. We gave them a second chance, and a third chance. We experienced the same ineptitude and incompetence each time we visited. Food orders were lost. Drink orders were lost. The wrong drinks were brought to us. Food was delayed over an hour. Rather than calling out to your server, you are supposed to write your order on slip of paper, and put it on your table. The servers are unable to see the slips of paper in the dark theatre. Waiters and waitresses are wandering around in the dark theatre trying to find people. It's a mess. Find a nice restaurant to visit before or after the movie. read more

Alamo is known for showing both main stream films and older/ more esoteric ones. This location is no exception and it's a big reason I love the Alamo brand. (Also, who doesn't love to have a mini pig out session in the dark surrounded by strangers in masks?) That said, this location was, frankly, a little gross. The bathrooms in particular : We're taking feces on the outside of a toilet bowl, dark stalls with blinking fluorescent lights and, maybe worst of all, it wasn't fully stocked. Staff was friendly but pretty slow, very disorganized and towards the end, we felt like they were rushing us out. Like you got the impression that if everyone in our theater said we didn't want to finish the movie they'd all be allowed to go home early, lie in bed and pet their, admittedly adorable, cats. Yesterday I had one of the worst experiences in this cinema, an employee named NICK, too rude and the customer service too nasty, trying to put his hands on me denying me and several other customers entry to the room including children, why did we arrive? late, it is understandable that there are rules but not for this employee to try to touch me, push me and stand at the door of the cinema, treating me and other employees badly, I asked for help from the manager and with all the employees who spoke they all said "I am the one." manager" in the end I talked to 4 managers and none of them gave a solution. read more

Awesome location of a great chain of movie/dinner houses across the US. Glad to see they are still holding on, both this specific location, which I've been going to since the mid-1980s when it was a United Artist Movieland multiplex, and the franchise as a whole. read more

Used to work for this location but it's still one of my favorite places to watch movies. It's dinner/drinks and a movie. They do so many cool movies during the weeks like 80s films or marathons. They also have new out movies. They just created a membership where you can pay to see unlimited movies for the month along with other perks. They have a variety of food such as pizza, salads, burgers, and fries. They even have vegan friendly options like buffalo cauliflower. They serve milkshakes and desserts and have beer on Tap or bottled. They even can make some cocktails and spiked milkshakes. read more
