We had a great experience at this theater. The movie was at 3.45 which was considered matinee and was only 5$ a person. The movie theater was clean and a lot of seats were available. We did have specific seats booked but sat where we wanted due to availability. Staff at the check out and concession was great and accommodating. We got popcorn and soda and although it was on the expensive side, the overall experience was positive. He parking lot is also very conveniently located. I would come back to this theater!

Admit-tingly I haven't been to this theater in probably a year. Not sure why, just happened that way. Nonetheless, this cinema is cool and I've never really had a problem. Wakanda Forever! During the bday month-a-thon, it would've been sac-religious to have not made Black Panther a priority. So like many others I saw it a couple of times and yes it was crowed and worth it. Wakanda Forever!! A few things to note... This location is starting to show its wear n tear a little bit, not bad just not shiny anymore. There are no reclining assigned seats that many of us have become accustomed to at other cinemas. They still have bargain Tuesdays that have increased slightly ($8 to $8.50) as well as they still offer a discount on parking which has decreased slightly ($1 to $0.50). Depending on the day and time it's worth parking at other garage locations to avoid crowding. Wakanda Forever!!! Overall a decent theater, easy to get to with ample parking and shops in Ridgehill. For me the experience of a theater is sometimes predicated by the time of day you go. Usually off peak is always better because you avoid any crowds and you enjoy every aspect of your moving going experience. WAKANDA FOREVER!!!!

Dirty and terrible process for concessions. It survives just because the options around it stink too.

Years later, this is still not good…read more Tried this again twice after a very long time of not coming here - yep, still not too good. In comparison to other movie theaters, this one pales greatly. While they updated the theaters with modern seating(w/ tables), it's not as comfortable and clean as competitors. In all fairness, I've only been to the standard theaters, so perhaps the larger theaters are better - but it should be equal across the board. I get why they did it this way, but they probably should've just rebuilt the theater from scratch. Cross County as a whole has undergone the effort trying to look better than it once did (whether better or not is up to individual interpretation) and here we have this dated movie theater with so many better and modern theaters at other malls. Each time I came here, at least one of the beverage machines was out of order while the other one remained a mess, with sticky floors as an added bonus. I get that the general public can be inconsiderate slobs, but this is why these things should be maintained by employees. Getting a drink shouldn't be a hassle nor should there be an impromptu sticky 'minefield' to have to maneuver through while getting the drink. The theater seats weren't as comfortable as they looked like they would be and didn't feel entirely clean. While the small table was a decent innovation, it would've probably been better had all of them been adjusted, tightened, and oiled. One improvement - the employees were a little friendlier than I remember them to be. Most of them anyway. A suggestion to the theater itself is to choose when and where tickets are checked. If I check in at the front with my phone, it should be good enough - not a second time with my hands full before going into the theater. If you're concerned about those not paying, then have a better system in the front of the place. It only happened once out of the two times I was there, but it was annoying to have to get my phone back out while my hands were completely full and the employee wasn't exactly friendly about the inconvenience either. The parking lot is sizable and you should easily be able to find a spot as long as its not during the holidays. I wanted to give this place a second chance from long ago and hoped things had changed - but they haven't. It's better elsewhere. I have no intentions of giving this place a third chance unless they completely tear it down (like they should've) and start over. There's better movie theaters out there.

Before, the waitstaff used to make every effort to stay invisible when coming in and out of the theater. Now, they just don't care how many times they cross your path when you are trying to watch a movie. So I took off a star. Finally got an excuse with the Super Mario brothers movie to come by. 'Cool' is the word when it comes for what they're going for with Alamo. It's located in the back of a shopping center with ample parking, however the decor is very nice inside. They had a headless horseman figure, a well designed lobby, clean bathrooms, and a few games for the kids. Also had a Super Mario poster kids could take pics in front of. Bar looked great too. They like their retro vibes, and the old school Mario cartoons/shows before the movie was a nice touch; saw some Godzilla stuff I might come back for too. Food was easy to order from your seat. Why only 3 stars? Service was very uneven. My food and my son's food came out immediately, however my wife's food (and a side of sauce for me) took 20min. I flagged this multiple times in the app without acknowledgement, so eventually grabbed someone only to get a boilerplate answer of 'we're working on everyone's food'. Luckily her food came independently right after, but she was starving so not a great experience. My food was cold when it came, however the boneless chicken wings were very good. Still sucked for her. My beer was also flat when it arrived, however I do t expect the world there when it comes to a theater (although if they poured it with more head it might've been fine). Lastly, my chair's back didn't recline much, which prevented me from the nap I planned to take during this movie. Could've been worse, however also could've been better. I am open to going Alamo 1 more shot, however might be just for me and friends versus a family. They really need to work on the operational back end here, as the place is cool as hell and I'd love to be a regular if they had things together.

Since I've been in all the theaters let me break it down. IMAX - as a kid, I saw the dark Knight movie with my dad here and I thought it was amazing. Then I saw Demon Slayer recently and realized this theater...kinda sucks. It needs to be updated seats wise. The screen in this theater is the largest though, and you actually have to climb stairs to get on the platform to watch the movie. 4DX - I was disappointed by my Demon Slayer IMAX adventure so I ended up seeing the dubbed version (to change things up) in 4DX. I had a freaking BLAST because this movie had a lot of elements and they are fighting and falling, you go on quite the journey in that chair. I was worried that if I had popcorn, it would fly everywhere but that didn't really happen much in this movie. However, when I saw chainsaw man in the same theater, even though it started off, kind of slow the explosions in that movie made me feel like I was slipping out of my seat if I wasn't holding the cupholders. I can see why some people may not like this, especially if you're prone to motion sickness. RPX - honestly, it's the best of both worlds. The seats are comfortable, the screen is large, and it's an enjoyable experience. Overall, I love this movie theater, and I always will. I hope the screen explanations help!

While my go-tos in Westchester are Alamo Drafthouse and Jacob Burns Film Center, the Pelham Picture House is a place that is deep in the archives of my mind, having been there a few times when I was younger. I was off the other day and figured I would catch a movie, and since they were playing one I was meaning to see, I made my way over. Pelham Picture House is located in the main commercial hub of the town, among a number of other businesses. I remember coming here a couple of times when I was younger - I believe I saw Casper here during its initial theatrical run. I really love the exterior - it has a retro feel and the neon signage was the cherry on top. The box office is located right before you enter and they have a concession stand immediately to your left after you entering. There are technically two screens in this theater, though I feel they may have added the second one later on. The main theater is large, almost auditorium like with many seats. The second theater is off to the side - it kind of looks like a room that was used for something else at first - the screen is one of those roll-down projector types, and the seats look like ones you wound find in a home theater. I was in the latter theater (called the Screening Room) - it was comfortable but not what I was expecting. The theater as a whole provided a comfortable experience, but it can definitely use some love - a lot of the fixtures and aesthetics are old and worn. I could see where some renovations were done but a lot of it can use some sprucing up. Hopefully as time goes on we will see more improvements to the space, I feel it's really important to have local theaters that show independent and art house films. Customers service was great, and overall I had a good experience rediscovering Pelham Picture House. I would have no qualms returning, and would in fact seek it out if they're showing a film I want to see. It's really great to see theaters like this still standing in Westchester.
