This was my first time visiting this theater, and I was really looking forward to the experience based on how it was described. The website highlighted a full restaurant and bar, along with the ability to enjoy food and drinks inside the theater, which set a certain expectation for the evening. While the movie itself was enjoyable, the overall experience did not quite match what was advertised. When I arrived around 9:30 PM, both the restaurant and bar were closed. The only option for food and drinks was the concession stand, which offered a very limited menu. The drinks, in particular, were not freshly made but instead prepared using pre-packaged pods in a machine, which felt underwhelming given the "premier" branding. Additionally, the theater itself could benefit from some updates. Many of the amenities felt dated and didn't reflect what I would expect from a premium movie experience. We had a great experience at this theater. The movie was at 3.45 which was considered matinee and was only 5$ a person. The movie theater was clean and a lot of seats were available. We did have specific seats booked but sat where we wanted due to availability. Staff at the check out and concession was great and accommodating. We got popcorn and soda and although it was on the expensive side, the overall experience was positive. He parking lot is also very conveniently located. I would come back to this theater! read more

Went on a Tuesday evening so it was pretty slow. No lines. Some employees were more interested in conversation with coworkers than helping customers. Seats are nice but appears that only some are plushier and have a slight recline to them. My biggest issues was that the tray between seats wasn't cleaned and was very sticky. It was like this on both sides so not sure when it had been last cleaned and made it hard to put your hand and arm in certain spots. read more

This is a horrible theater. The screen had marks on it where you know its damaged. It did a de service to the movie AvATAR. We were also only able to watch the movie not even half way because of the MULTIPLE fire alarms. I was told by other movie goers that this was not the first time this has happened in this location. Also when the first fire alarm went off- we were confused and just trying to see where we can exit. Staff, including managers esp an Asian Lady named Sue, were extremely rude!!!! Its not our fault this happened, please kindly speak to PAYING customers who are missing the movie and now out in the cold. Don't be barking orders as IF we had any fault in your fire alarms going off. We waited for 10 minutes Fire fighters came and cleared. They had us come back in and did not even wait for us to get back and the movie was already playing! A second Fire Alarm goes off and at this point everyone is frustrated and in disbelief. It took 5 min for us to be like okay lets get up and get out again. Staff were so rude and said with attitude hello! Get out of the theater? Like who are you talking to? A heard of cattle? Im sorry but this is the worst, if you dont like your job or people.'Please find another one. While online for a refund because its already 9:30pm we have to go home now instead of watching the movie. Manager Sue was giving us attitude about getting our refund. I had to ask her several times to calm down and watch your tone. A simple please and thank you would suffice if you needed my confirmation email. Do not Bark orders at paying customers, you are paid to make sure we are treated well. The other manager was giving refunds pleasantly and also giving free tickets for a future visit. I asked Sue how come i am not getting the free tickets as well? Sue answered with you only asked for the refund. With attitude!! Im sorry, but you do not own this company, you do not get to make decisions of who gets what and where. If everyone gets those free tickets, as a compensation for our troubles, we deserve them as well. Its not coming out of your pocket. The escalator never seems to work. The sink in the bathroom didn't work. The soap dispenser was broken. During the movie, a fire alarm goes off telling customers to exit. No one bothered to enter the theater to explain or apologize. My husband went to ask what was going on, during which an employee claims they were doing a "test". I did not pay $50 to have the movie interrupted by a fire alarm! I used to love going to this theater, but it is horrible now. read more

The theater is located in a mall with a Target & supermarket to name a few places. The theater is spacious & relatively clean. My only complaint is, they need to do better with the bathroom. Before my movie started I went to the bathroom & there was no paper towel & the dispenser was open, so I thought someone must be in there working. When my movie ended, it was the same sight to be seen. No paper towels & the dispenser still open, almost two hours later. That was a bit disappointing. I do appreciate the courtesy from the staff at the concession stand & the food they have is fine, which they have a Nathans, ice cream option & pizza, so its more than just popcorn & nachos. read more

The experience this afternoon was absolutely uncomfortable. My son and I went to the restaurant for a sit down dinner about a hour or so before the movie. The menu itself had a completely different name than the actual restaurant....Studio 3 was labeled Chatter. I ordered the mozzarella triangles, Tito's mule and a crispy chicken wrap. The bartender returned to the table twice to inform me that there wasn't any more lettuce for the wrap and no ginger beer for the drink. So, she wanted to know if I was okay with the sandwich without lettuce. I actually agreed to still have it. Because I was starving. The food was tasteless but warm! :-/ The seating in the theater was so uncomfortable that our backs are sore. They were literally red cloth, rocking chairs that were positioned so close to the floor. Admit-tingly I haven't been to this theater in probably a year. Not sure why, just happened that way. Nonetheless, this cinema is cool and I've never really had a problem. Wakanda Forever! During the bday month-a-thon, it would've been sac-religious to have not made Black Panther a priority. So like many others I saw it a couple of times and yes it was crowed and worth it. Wakanda Forever!! A few things to note... This location is starting to show its wear n tear a little bit, not bad just not shiny anymore. There are no reclining assigned seats that many of us have become accustomed to at other cinemas. They still have bargain Tuesdays that have increased slightly ($8 to $8.50) as well as they still offer a discount on parking which has decreased slightly ($1 to $0.50). Depending on the day and time it's worth parking at other garage locations to avoid crowding. Wakanda Forever!!! Overall a decent theater, easy to get to with ample parking and shops in Ridgehill. For me the experience of a theater is sometimes predicated by the time of day you go. Usually off peak is always better because you avoid any crowds and you enjoy every aspect of your moving going experience. WAKANDA FOREVER!!!! read more

My review is for the management. I have always gotten my dinner from the restaurant. The food is great and I really enjoy having a good meal while I watch a movie... So I asked why is the restaurant always empty??? And I only heard that the multimillion dollar company that owns it (Viacom/CBS) is not so focus in promoting the restaurant... The food is very good.. The prices are great!! Suggestions for management: 1) PROMOTED THE RESTAURANT 2) CREATE A HAPPY HOUR. 3) how about hosting football Sunday on one the cinemas??? There are so many ways to take advantage of this place and provide the consumer a better experience!! Btw: Eddy at the restaurant was absolutely AMAZING!!! Super attentive and very personable. I'm not one to ever leave a bad review but I went to the bar to get a drink paid for 2 of them and as I'm about to walk out with them the bartender mike tells me with an attitude drinks aren't allowed in theaters I said oh I didn't know and that the guest right before me took his to go he sits and lies to me and says he finished his drink when I saw with my 2 eyes that he walked out with them rules are rules and I understand but the way he spoke to me as if I'm supposed to know this was my first time. read more

I'll admit that I'm spoiled by Alamo Drafthouse; while some people don't like the moviegoing experience it offers, I find it unique and fun. That aside, Cinema de Lux is probably my favorite "traditional" multiplex to go to. Located way at the tippy top of Ridge Hill on the 5th floor, this theater fits pretty well with the whole theme of Ridge Hill. I like that there's garage parking on the same level as the theater, and that there's easy access to the lower levels where other businesses are. The theater is pretty well maintained on the inside; the decor in the main lobby is mostly neutral beiges - so unlike other theaters I've been to but I like it. The theater seats are pretty comfy, and they have a nice variety of concessions (though I've never bought from them - too expensive for junk food). Depending on when you go, it can get really crowded - I usually like to get there at least 30 mins before the show starts so I can get a decent seat and settle in. They offer the option to buy tickets online, and they also have electronic ticket kiosks upon entry so you really *can* avoid all human contact if you really want to ;-) Overall, there really isn't much that stands out about this theater which is why I'm giving it a 3, but if I can't make it to Alamo, this would be second on my list. read more

A good reminder of why I hate movie theaters. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the manager was personable and offered a quick hassle-free refund, and some of the staff were friendly, notably the one person working concessions and one of the ticket takers. $6 for a bottle of Dasani water was the amuse bouche of what was wrong here. The cinema was difficult to find. Only one person was working concessions, and there were no ushers whatsoever. The audio was so low I could hear people chewing popcorn and rustling plastic bags from every corner of the theater. The seats were poorly lit so it was very difficult to navigate, and worst of all, there is no seating enforcement. I selected a seat well in advance, only to find a family taking up that whole area. I told them it was my seat, and they said they don't care and that I should find another. I then went to three different seats, each time to be told that someone else had ordered it. When they asked me to move, I did, because unlike the people who took my seat, I'm not an asshole. Eventually I went to the front desk and asked for help, at which point I was directed to another lady off to the side, who in an extremely loud and rude tone said "just find another seat". I explained I had already done that and wanted to know which seats hadn't been reserved. She said "I'm sure you'll just find a seat. Just go." Then I asked for a refund, and she was extremely sarcastic about it before shouting across the room to call the attention of a manager. This was the one hassle-free part of the entire experience. Manager was amiable and quick to lend a hand. I've officially spent more time writing this review than I spent watching the film. I got my $16 back for the film, but I'm still out $6 for fucking water and $4 for parking. read more

There are things to love here. First of all, they play a lot of different movies. So you can probably go up here to see whatever it is you fancy. Second, the seats are way comfy. They recline ever so slightly, very plush and roomy. The aisles are wide enough to not have your knees knock against the seat in front of you, but not so wide that you can't reach the armrest of the chair in front of you to put your feet up. Assuming it's empty of course. If anyone even tries to put their feet near me in a movie theater, so help me god. So help them, rather. I will say, the concession lines are CRAY. The people working them are sooooo painfully slow. We almost missed the movie because of it. It was unbelievable. It's also a really expensive theater. Food and drinks are overpriced here, too. And you have to pay to park! They should really validate your tickets like Whole Foods in Ridge Hill does. It was so crowded when we went on a Sunday afternoon, but the place is so massive the only time you feel overwhelmed by people is waiting in line to get yourself some popcorn (which was tasty, by the way). So. Costly, slow staff, comfortable chairs, shiny and new. Not too shabby. read more

I like this theater. The only thing that could make it better is if you could reserve your seats lime some other theaters. It would make opening nights less of a headache when dealing with the crowds. Regardless, the parking is great on regular nights. I would suggest getting to Ridge Hill earlier, parking on the theater level of the garage and then kill time in one of the many different businesses until showtime; if you do, make sure to take your parking ticket with you for validation which gets you a disco on the parking fee as well as a disco at concessions. If you do plan on a trip during an opening night/weekend, make sure you arrive early. I would say, more than 30 minutes if you're like me and you like to have specific seating. The theaters and bathrooms are clean and you can buy your tickets online so you don't have to contend with the crowds at the ticket counters. They also have a few electronic ticket machines that help with the lines. Divide and conquer: If you're a team of three like my family, one person buys the tickets, one person hold the line at concessions and one person grab seats. We taking our movie outings seriously. Crowds can get rambunctious during opening nights which is why we seldom venture out for those. We'll usually wait a week or two before seeing a new movie bit the close proximity of this theater to our home makes it a first choice. read more

Went in today and normally the service is good. Ticket rep was great and then walked over to the concession stand. There was a women with glasses who just seemed as if she did not want to be there today. Mind you there was no one in the lobby ( it was the first showing). Asked for my items but I noticed on the register screen there was a special for free nachos with purchased items. She didn't mention it and when I did, she seemed bothered that she had to change the order. Never gave good customer service, never mentioned specials, or asked if I was a Starpass member. I was in the food court enjoying an overly processed salted meat substance filled sandwich from Arbys and I thought I would enjoy a visit to the movie theater. I purchased the tickets online..like all modern theaters allow and chose E-ticket . Upon checkout the employee informed me that the theater does not accept digital scanned tickets only printed tickets. A quick check with the fine print and sure enough this theater has not gone with the times. This would be all fine if the theater actually provided a kiosk for you to print your damn tickets!!! Nope...nothing...the mall does not have a location to print anything out so this lack of customer support falls squarely on this movie chain and their archaic ticketing system. Best part about this? I came here on a date to see the Black Panther and I had a good experience. The theater is spacious and decently clean. The line was short and the seats were comfortable but not reclining! On top of that, the lady said she would validate my parking ticket and when I went to the machine I still had to pay $2.50. My first time at this theatre recently on a Sunday evening and aesthetically it's pleasing to the eye. Seats were plentiful and pretty comfortable. I did think they could've had more staff taking orders and working the register. The main issue I had was the popcorn. It definitely had a staleness to it. Popcorn should have a crunch to it, not feel soft. The women's bathroom could have had better upkeep, but stalls were spacious so that's a plus. I'd definitely like to go back to take in another movie. I just hope the popcorn gets better. read more

Want to visit a theater with comfortable seats and free parking? Then this is NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU. The seats are very outdated and the rows are tight to the point that it's difficult to not kick the seat in front of you. Also, this theater is part of the mall and there's no place to park for free. If you can get past these two things, then this place is not that bad. They have great food options including ice cream shakes and Starbucks. The screens are large and the sound is great. I would prefer to go to an AMC theater with plush reclinable seats but Showcase Theater at Ridgehill is a semi-decent option. read more

This movie theater sucks!!! We came for a "special event" of the I Love Lucy colorized episodes birthday event only to sit and wait. After 30 minutes of waiting and looking at a blank screen, a team member came out to notify the crowd that the DVR is not working and the show will not go on. This special event won't be offered again or postponed. The theater compensated everyone with 1 free ticket to watch another movie at their theater. This is terrible organization and planning. The DVR should have been tested in advance and not 5 minutes before the show's start time. I would never come back!!!! read more

If you're in a mall in Yonkers and in the mood to watch a flick chances are you're either in Cross County or Ridge Hill. After heading over initially to the movie theater in Cross County (review coming shortly), the boyfriend and I decided to head over to Ridge Hill which seemed like it would be a better theater, overall. It actually turned out to be the better choice since there were multiple show times for the specific film we were interested in. Plus it was way cheaper in comparison ($13 vs $17). When you first walk in you have endless options from your ordinary concession stand to a cafe to Starbucks. The world is your oyster! Now when it comes to the theater itself I was less than impressed: - seats aren't really comfortable - arm rest does not lift up - the seats don't recline that far back - theater is uncomfortable to get to if you don't park by the N. Otis Drive garage - you pay for parking (it's not comped for watching a film here) It's not the worst theater I've been to by far, but enduring a 2 + hour film (including previews) and not being seated comfortably is a no no for me. read more

This is the only local movie theater I've been to in years. I obviously don't go to the movies often, as I would rather download a $20 movie on iTunes and own it digitally forever as opposed to paying I'm not even sure what the going rate is now for a regular priced ticket, and only see it once. I like going to Tuesday's when I do go, and pay no more than $9 for a ticket. I can sometimes have a whole theater to myself which saves me from other movie goers who like to spoil the ending for me. This theater isn't brand-spanking-new anymore and it shows, a few trash here and there on the floor in the theater, as well as the bathroom, but that's nothing compared to the movie theater in the Cross County mall. I love that I can meet friends downstairs for a few drinks before or after the movie at Yard House or any of the other restaurants close by. read more

I'm not sure why people are giving this place such a hard time. Yes the workers are slow - lots of minimum wage workers are. They have never been rude and I come here quite a lot. The seats aren't super comfy but it's only two hours. For me, the fact that I can guarantee it won't sell out is more important because I don't have the luxury of planning in advance. I have never not gotten in when I wanted, even on opening weekends. I haven't found the place unclean. I have been in pretty disgusting theaters and this one is clean, quiet and has lots of food. The popcorn and soda lines usually go at a decent pace, but get there early if you want ice cream, coffee or hot food. Waited on a very long line and when its finally my turn and I look the worker in his eyes and clearly say "Hi can I please have a small vanilla milkshake" and his response is "wha happen?" Umm what?? After repeating myself he then tells me they dont make milkshakes anymore. Workers there are very young, careless, playing on thier phones, standing around, moving very slowly!!! read more

Bought tickets online. Got the tickets at the counter and waited over 30mins in line to get some food. At 9pm ,all of the food stores are closed except for ice cream and popcorn. They dont even have hot dogs or pretzel. The staff attitude are very very unprofessional and the food counter itself is so dirty. Staffs were very busy chatting to each other rather than working to get the orders out asap. The seats are comfy and theatre itself not bad. The bathroom however is best to stay away from! Shit all over the seat, pee smell was so over whelming. I swear i thought i would get a disease just by going in there. We decide to play some games at the arcade while waiting for our driver. Without checking the places, they just decide to shut off the power of the whole arcade room, lost 10bucks for nothing. Simply said, its not a clean place and its obvious the staffs,from the janitorial,the servers,the cashiers are all un trained and unprofessional in the field. Definitely wont be back and thos is a theatre at ridgehill? Definitely nowhere near the regular standard. Very very disappointing.
