I've been wanting to try the burgers here for ages and finally the stars aligned! I jumped at the opportunity to experience Logan's Alley while also catching up with a dear out of town friend. First and foremost, the inside feels like a dive bar (complete with the stale beer smell), but the patio is quirky, fresh, and fun with dogs allowed- lending to a lighter and brighter feel. We snagged a table and chairs that were mostly clean; the server came rather quickly and (though towering in stature) was very quick, adept, and patient with us while ordering. We committed to splitting the crab Rangoon appetizer, the burger special: pimento cheese double smash burger with bacon jam upgraded to fries, and 3 (yes three!) Farmhaus Bloom's to wash it all down. Everything was spectacular. The Farmhaus bloom was my first taste of a delicious blueberry cider lemonade with a splash of lavender that reminded me of a liquid sour jolly rancher. It was deliciously addicting. lol. The burger was also incredible. I'm not that into burgers, but I dare say this was an art form. I would definitely come back and try some more. The crab Rangoon appetizer was fun and a great shareable with the table. Our waiter showed up at the perfect times... truly a master of his craft and would casually ask if we needed a refill. Very on vibe. Overall, I find Logan's Alley to be a local watering hole with surprisingly excellent food. They are actually living up to the term gastropub without even the slightest bit of pretentiousness detected. Very refreshing! It's certainly not a vibe I'd take my kids to, but I would def come back with friends or just the hubby... and with food this good it'll be hard to stay away. read more

The best part of Logan's Alley is the camaraderie from the locals. Everyone seemed to know everyone in this place! Not to mention, the food is pretty good! The crab dip with wonton chips and wonton sauce were incredible, easily the best part of the meal. With lots of animated conversation and lots of bustling servers, the energy here is really upbeat. Was craving a burger so stopped into Logan's to get one of the best I've found around GR. They have a nice patio that I believe is dog friendly to enjoy during the summer. Interior is a classic dive bar vibe, they even have games to play while hanging out if it does happen to be a bit busier. We got the fried pickles to split to begin, the spicy ranch and a nice kick and were a great way to start the meal. The burger is a favorite of ours, I always upgrade to the p&p fries which are excellent! The buffalo chicken wrap is another great choice. Food and service are always great. Reasonable prices and always solid and delicious. We will continue to come by every time we're craving a burger! Logan's is our favorite stop for some great bar food. read more

Full disclosure: I come here just for the chicken tenders! But I stay for the endless selection of beer and cider on draft--and darts...which I somehow become a pro at after three drinks. The service here is stellar, whether you're at the bar or tucked into one of the cozy booths. About those chicken tenders? Logan's Alley is one of my favorite Michigan Street bars, and IYKYK.... but honestly, it's a fan fav and a local spot for those who frequent the Michigan Street bars. It has a great outdoor patio (heated for those colder nights) and the bartenders and servers are lovely! But be warned, it's very busy most nights as there are a lot of local sport teams that come after their games throughout the weeks. There is a small parking lot that gets jammed packed and you can park across the street at the funeral home after hours if needed but be careful to cross at night! The food is great and I love the chicken caesar salad and have recently come to love the nachos! They recently redid the inside which was absolutely needed (though I do hear that the men's bathroom needs an upgrade) but you'll catch me here on the regular. It's probably one of those places that people could consider a "dive" but I would consider it a basic bar and it gets busy, it's loud and you shouldn't expect anything over the top when you order, but everyone is friendly and I love it! read more

This looks like an ordinary neighborhood bar like others along Michigan Street, but its much more. They have great food. They have some dishes that are typical bar food, but they have some remarkable dishes that one wouldn't expect. For instance they serve biscuits and gravy, which is the best I've had lately. Also they have a breakfast burger that comes with blueberry habenero jam. My wife likes to get this jam to go with her tater tots. She does this every time we go here. The establishment also has monthly specials that are both creative and tasty. As for service, we've always felt welcomed here. I feel that the staff are very responsive to their customers. read more

Logan's Alley is one of my favorite local spots. We have a bit of a tradition of going there for breakfast on Christmas Eve - unfortunately we got there too early this year and they weren't open yet, but we did get there on New Year's Eve for brunch. They serve brunch all day and open early. You'll often see hospital employees enjoying the patio early in the morning. The patio is covered and heated, which makes it a great spot for most of the year. The menu includes many bar favorites, and the chicken tenders are still my go-to. Nate got the breakfast quesadilla recently, which looked really good and was presented nicely, but was a bit bland. He added some salt, which helped, but really wanted some salsa. The scramble sandwich is another one of my favorites. Logan's Alley is known for their extensive tap and bottle list. I'm not much of a beer drinker these days, but always found something I wanted to try. They have their own parking lot, which is super convenient. read more

It's a good little bar. Food is nice and comes out fast. Portions of fries are pretty good that come with your food. It can get really loud inside as the bar is close to the rest of the seating. So if you want to sit and chat it may not be the best place unless you sit outside. read more

Poutine Crab Rangoon chip dip I was a big fan of the poutine. The gravy and chunks of turkey were delicious and paired really well with the sweet potato fries. I was skeptical about the candied pecans and cranberries but they worked with the dish really well. And oh my god the crab Rangoon chips might be one of the best things I've eaten all year. Wontons were perfectly crisp, delicious dip, sauce was subtle but sweet. Definitely coming back here again. Only thing I will say is that the service was a bit... weird and the inside was really loud (I don't think it's usually like this - Sunday football was on and it is a sports bar sooooo). read more

I cannot believe I haven't reviewed Logan's yet.... Here's the deal: This place is a GREAT neighborhood bar with a kick-ass tap list & GOOD bar food. Plenty of the best most recent craft beer releases for the hipster beer kids with a few local craft ciders always available, too. Their patio is covered and enclosed with wooden terrace-esque screens that doesn't make sitting on Michigan Street seem so bad. Loaded tots are incredible drunk food- along with their onion rings and buffalo cauliflower wraps. Wonderful, friendly staff as well! Unfortunately, they no longer have a pool table so the bartender redirected us to Duke's. Tried this local place for the first time today. Will definitely be back. They have tons of drinking options & had $4 bloody Mary's on Sunday's. The menu was fairly priced. Mostly comfort/bar food. I got the Mac and cheese and it is probably the best hot Mac and cheese I've ever had. They use beer cheese and the chicken was delicious. So much flavor and so filling. It was AMAZING. The Brutus was good too. Not amazing but it was very good. The fries were really good as well. We had really great service. The guy had quite a few tables too but he was super friendly and checked on us as often as needed. Overall we had no complaints and we highly recommend checking this place out! This is so hard to review. Here's why: Beer Selection 5* - easy, it's serious, world class and extensive. Service 4* - but I'd give Jennifer 5* Outdoor Seating 4* but 1* for indoor smoking Food was generally crappy and 2* feels generous Sadly, the food is the missing link. Sure the tater tots are great. I was told the wings were sub-par, and they were. Burger wasn't as good as we were led to believe. Salad wasn't good. Pizza was on 1/2 price special, and it's hard to complain about $5 bacon pizza. The chicken parm sandwich looked like the real winner - and was freaking huge. Really, I'd say go for the beer. Relax on the patio. Eat some tots. Wow, this place has really gone downhill. We were extremely disappointed in the service on the last two occasions. Not only are they rude, but they are very slow to greet & bring drinks. I have had the spicy mac & cheese multiple times, and last night it came out cold, bland, and literally two small chicken tenders on it. It usually comes with 4 to 5 tenders. The cocktails are very weak and they upcharged me for lemonade.. in a vodka lemonade. Additionally, the takeout service was cold, stale, and incorrect. It was like lighting a match to money. It's not glamorous but I've never gone to Logan's and left disappointed. The service has always been somewhere between good and excellent. Foodwise, it's probably close to what you would expect but a little better. My friend LOVES their bibimbap burger. Another friend is really into the breakfast burrito. The tator tots are exactly that.
