I'm still extremely satisfied after 3 years of taking my Mini Schnauzer to Bow Wow. She's very sensitive about her feet, and it's difficult to trim her nails even in a sling but she really needs a full groom or a tidy every 6 weeks. The groomers are so sweet to figure out the best way to get it done without stressing her out. When I pick her up she always looks great and even though it takes three of them to keep her calm and perform the nail trim, she always looks great. I love that I can leave my pup in a place that really cares about the health and comfort of the fur babies they care for. I highly recommend. read more

Had such a poor experience here :(. Took my puppy in for her first grooming appointment and upon bringing her in I was told her appointment was delayed and would take 3-4 hours since they had walk ins to take care of first. Then I received a call about 20 minutes later stating my puppy would need to be restrained by me in order for her to get groomed because she was "viscous". (We have never had an issue with her being vicious towards anyone). Once I arrived about 10 minutes later I was told it was too late and they could no longer groom her due to time, even though they had caused a delay in her appointment to begin with. Upon my arrival the groomer continuously painted my puppy as "viscous" stating that she was bit by her and that she needs to be sedated otherwise she is unable to be groomed. She dismissed all my questions and concerns and continued to state nothing could be done. After this I took her to Happy Hound grooming where she had an amazing experience with no supposed "biting" or "vicious" behavior. At Happy Hound they treated her with kindness and patience taking under 3 hours giving her the best treatment! Overall I believe the groomer was just lazy and did not want to take the time for a puppy grooming on a Friday, painting this picture that my puppy was untamable to get out of doing the job! read more

They are so wonderful here!!! You don't have to wait 2 weeks to a month to get an appointment and they are so sweet. My dog doesn't have the same anxiety he usually has with groomers from the moment he walks in to the moment he leaves! They always compliment him and give him special moments. The transaction is super smooth and comfortable and the environment is very open and inviting, especially the staff. I have the same experience with each person I encounter here. Consistency is something I have not had in a grooming experience in YEARS. This is my 4th time back here in two months. So upset and disappointed. Horrible at following instructions. I specifically said do not cut anything on the face -- I only wanted a sanitary cleanup. For the body, I asked for a light trim, just the tips, to even things out. I love the shaggy look and prefer to keep my Bernedoodle's coat long. The groomer explained that keeping the coat long would require more frequent visits, which I told her was not an issue for me. She agreed and took him in. At pickup, my puppy had a full buzz cut. His body was extremely short, and his face and head were completely trimmed despite my very clear instructions not to touch them. I had already mentioned I was letting his coat grow out due to a bad experience at another location, which makes this even more frustrating. She said my puppy did great and had no issues -- but that doesn't explain why my instructions were completely ignored. Very disappointed and will not be returning. read more

I would NOT recommend this place for a DOODLE of any kind. The ladies first instinct was to shave my dog bc she had matts on her neck from her collar. I absolutely refused her to be shaved, I just wanted her cleaned up. She had me sign a waiver about a "severely matted dog" them not being liable for cuts, nicks, ect. I crossed all that off bc I already stated I don't want my dog shaved bc she was not severely matted. She said it would take about 2 hours. After 3 hours I get a text saying she will be ready in 20, but the face would not be complete bc my dog was too hyper. THIS IS WHAT THEY DO. The entire appointment was to clean up her face, round out her body, nails, glands. Upon picking up, the lady expressed she was able to get most the matts out. So, after reading more reviews, I believe they rush to shaving bc of time, they over book. Doodles are hard to cut. This is not the place for a precision cut. Another thing that caught our attention was at pick up, she said how old is HE. First off it's a girl, you literally just cleaned up her lady bits. Amazing experience! I had been taking our 8 year old Maltese/shih tzu to the same groomer since she was a puppy. After finding out our long time groomer was moving out of state I was so nervous to take her somewhere new. But WOW! I can honestly say I wish I had found this gem so much sooner! The shop is immaculately clean, it's open and airy, and plenty of space for the dogs. They even offer doggie day care and have a separate play area inside! Took my skittish sweet chihuahua poodle mutt here today and he was treated very well. Bree was super sweet and kind to him and when I came back to pick him up I could tell he had made a new friend. His fur looks great - especially his tail which is super long and fluffy since he has some lapsa apso and shi tzu in him. Also, since he had never had a shave before and his overcoat is still gorgeous she advised me against a shave which shaved me $20 and I couldn't be happier with that. I took my matted long haired dog here to get groomed and was charged OVER $100 an unethical amount for the grooming my dog received. He looks so bad and is choppy and shaved. I understand that a matted dog is hard to cut but it is never okay to charge additional fees without the consent of the owner prior. I tried to address this issue with the owner and instead of trying to make it right she was so unprofessional I'm disgusted. Josie is her name. Fair warning these people are greedy, unprofessional and do not care about keeping satisfied customers. Instead they try to blame you as the customer for their unwillingness to fix the situation and blame you for the terrible groom my dog received. Very sad to have to warn others about this experience but THIS is is NOT OKAY. There are others who have had a similar experience do not just disregard the warnings like I did. The only reason this is getting 1 Star is because I can't post without giving something. Today I had an appointment to have my Miniture Schnauzer groomed as I've had done previously at this location. On both previous occasions I've ALWAYS requested a Schnauzer cut. Today when my dog was dropped off it was again reiterated that I wanted to maintain the skirt and Schnauzer cut. One hour later I recieved a cryptic text that I wasn't able to respond to immediately due to work commitments until one more hour had passed about shaving my dog completely. When I pick my dog up he had been completely(whole body and legs) shaved to a number 10. She even stated that she knew I wouldn't like it, and then proceeded to CHARGRE $70.00 for what should have been a Schnauzer cut + 10.00 for a difficult dog. It will take months for what she did to grow out to restore my dogs coat. I can't help but feel the best practice would have been to just admit up front that she didn't want to spend the time and energy to provide the services requested AND PAID FOR vs. taking it upon herself to do what she vs. what the customer wanted. Bottom line I could have done this butcher job at home with the Whal Clippers for free. I will not recommend, and in fact will share this experience with everyone possible to help some else avoid the experience. read more

I don't like giving poor reviews but I have to be honest about our experience. We were quite happy to see this place open up as we've been looking for a place to take our dogs. To be very clear, we did not end up getting our pets groomed at this company. My daughter and I initially walked in to find out information about pricing and the services offered. To be quite honest the service we received from the associate working was as if we were bothering her to have us asking any questions. She was rude and very unwelcoming. When we were walking out my daughter leaned in and said to me, "wow, that girl must really hate her job". Although we've read some of the positive comments we refuse to take our pets to a place so unwelcoming and cold. This place started out good, I was new to Ventura County and was looking for a place to groom my German shepherd. It had just opened up close by to our home. The last time I brought him in they charged me the full price, even though I was told, his grooming was not completed. I wasn't told why at the time and for some crazy reason I didn't ask. When I called to make another appointment and asked what I need to do in order to make sure he gets his full grooming, because 85.00 dollars is not Chump change and to not have everything done and still get charged full price is crazy. I was told at the time, when I scheduled his grooming that nothing was written on his card, indicating the reason, as to why it wasn't done. when I went to drop him off, the same groomer, who groomed him last time, asked me if I wanted the same as last time and I asked if she could please complete the grooming since she did not do so the last time. She said it was because his hips were bothering him, I didn't know he had hip issues, he is 4 years old and he is very active at home. I explained to her that I wasn't told what the issue was, for her not completing his grooming. When I went to pick him up, not only did they charge me the 85.00 dollars they also added 5.00 dollars more for someone else helping her. I have been taking him there all year, not once was this an issue before. When I complained, about the additional charge, I was given a different story as to why it wasn't completed the last time and how now I had to pay more because she needed the help. I have been taking my dog there for a year, there wasn't any issues before with his grooming being completed and I was only being charged 75.00 dollars then, I figured the 10.00 dollars more was because of the economy . Needless to say I will not be taking my dog there again, nor would I recommend place to anyone. read more
