The farmers market is in the parking lot of the civic center. It's a great location near the downtown Holland area. This farmers market is spread out across w/lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, fresh sausages & meats. Too bad I couldn't load up as I was going to be in Michigan for a few more days before going home.

It's bonkers that there are multiple adult employees unable or unwilling to multitask. My suggestion would be for the staff to chip in or hire additional staff to move things along.

Crafting their product from the agriculturally-abundant Southwestern Michigan, they source all of their products within a 50-mile radius... and the fruits of their labor are perfect proof of the quality produce we have in our tiny corner of the world! I've been greeted by a very friendly young gentleman behind the counter each time I've approached, and they have samples of most of their preserves out as well. Do stop by and try some. We decided to do the most touristy thing you could do in Holland: blueberry picking. I am so glad we did because we had a blast! We went in the morning when it wasn't super hot yet and didn't have to pay anything to enter. We were given small buckets and instructed to pick in a certain field. And we were off! After about 30-45 minutes, we had all filled our small buckets with bright blue blueberries. After we made our way back to the main facility, our buckets were weighed and we paid. The total came out to about $15ish per family. After they had boxed up our blueberries, we decided to check out the gift shop. It was filled with fun blueberry gifts and even a cafe serving everything blueberry! This was such a fun experience and I'm glad we got to try it!

But it was already closed for the season. So we were so happy to find this location! We went shortly after they opened. We approached the table on their patio and they offered us a bucket and instructed us where to pick. There were only a handful of other people there, so we hand plenty of space to ourselves. At first I was disappointed because the berries were super tiny, which made me worry they would be tart. But they weren't! They were the sweetest, most delicious blueberries!! We took our little boy and he had THE BEST TIME. Blueberries are his absolute favorite, so I'm pretty sure this was a dream come true! We only picked about a half pound, but that seemed like so much! While I was waiting in line to weigh and buy, there were other people arriving to buy pre-picked. They'd buy HUGE crates - enough to last them through the winter. Mmmmm! The people here were extra sweet and friendly. So stop and have a chat after picking. You can also pick up a blueberry donut and get a cone of blueberry soft serve.

De Lange's is pretty no frills overall--a "get your berries and go" kind of spot. I'm pretty sure there were strawberry pie-shaped candles for sale in addition to some dessert-y components that you can also pick up at your local grocery store. It's nice if you're in a pinch, but I say spend your hard-earned dollars on the berries. I can't speak to the u-pick experience outside of knowing that De Lange's offers a strawberry u-pick option down the road. Knowing the quality of the strawbs, I may have to consider u-picking next season.

This year like in years past we get 10lb of cranberries for the winter months to freeze. We like…read morebuying local so we called the Berry Bunch like we have in the past. We were told they would be ready on the day we drove down to pick up. We got there and they had an equipment failure. OK, I understand that. We asked if they were going to have someone at the Fulton St Farmer's market the coming Saturday like the sometimes do. Liz said yes so I went down there (another 1/2 hr drive for us) and no one showed up. We called and I guess the owners daughter didn't want to go since it was supposed to rain but did not tell Liz. My wife called Liz to express our frustration and the owner called and told us he would deliver our 10 lb when he gets up near Sparta. That was almost a month ago and we already purchased our cranberries online from WI online. We had our good cranberries within 5 days. I sense the owner diod a poor job communicating with Liz who was friendly and professional throughout our encounters despite our frustration. 40 minute drive initially then a 30 minute drive to meet someone who didn't show up. Sad, because we'd rather buy local but we won't be back.
