The receptionists were very nice when I called in to update on my arrival, as I was really at the mercy of the airline, baggage claim, and traffic on making the 11:30 estimated time or not. The first assistant took down our info as always and did temps and then we met Dr. Bradley for the first time. I had worked with Dr. Sy for years who recently moved away, and with a situation of this level I was nervous to try a new Dr. but I can say Dr. Bradley is amazing, was extremely kind to both my mom (aka Grandma to Gizmo) and myself who were both really scared and nervous about what was going on. She was knowledgeable, and seemed to know exactly the strategy and course of tests to diagnose Gizmo. She arrived at kennel cough which seems even more likely now as Gizmo is already responding well to meds. Due to the high level of care we received yesterday, and that we've received in the past, this place should be 6 stars, not five, but I can only give five.

I didn't have a long wait and my sick bird was promptly taken care of. The vet clinic is clean and there are several people at the front desk to assist with clients and their pets. The process goes fast, considering they take walk in appointments. This is a large clinic and they have a lot of exam rooms and that's a good thing, since it makes getting in and out much faster. The staff is friendly and helpful and the vet was informative about my bird. The cost is average to above, but considering you don't have to call in and wait days for an appointment, this is a plus. You never know when your animals will get sick and this clinic is much less expensive than an emergency vet clinic. Ask me how I know. I was surprised at some of the reviews, since this clinic seems like a good place to take your pet. They accept pets with fur, feathers and scales, so that just about covers everything. Colonial Animal Hospital was a good find, I have an equine and dog vet and will add them to the mix for my bird.

What concerned me even more was the care we received. The veterinarian never performed a physical examination of my dog--at any point during the visit. Instead, he immediately began discussing expensive diagnostic tests and raised alarming possibilities, such as my dog having swallowed a nail clipper. I felt pressured into approving x-rays after those worst-case scenarios were presented. After emphasizing those possibilities, he told me he "worked for me" and that the decision was mine. However, he immediately followed that by warning me that if my dog was anemic, she could die on the table. Then, when I expressed concern about not being able to afford these costs for the 2nd time he told me he understood my financial situation because he also had five children to feed. I found that comment inappropriate and unrelated to helping me make an informed medical decision for my dog. Ultimately, my dog was diagnosed with colitis--a condition that I believe should have been considered and evaluated before resorting to discussions of extreme possibilities. While I understand veterinarians need to rule out serious conditions, I expected a thorough physical examination, clear communication, and an explanation of why each test was necessary. Instead, there was no physical examination whatsoever before I was asked to approve more than $600 in testing. To make matters worse, I was also charged an additional 3% credit card surcharge. Between the unsanitary conditions, the lack of any physical examination, the pressure to authorize costly tests, the credit card fee, and the final bill, I left feeling that my concerns--and my dog's well-being--were not the priority. I will not be returning, and I hope the clinic takes these concerns seriously by improving both its cleanliness and its approach to patient care and communication. Our pets deserve better.

My husband and I decided to adopt our neighbors adult cat upon her passing. After about a month, we came to know three things about my new cat; one; she had some sort of allergy, two; she didn't want to be touched by anyone and three; she was a biter. After discussing the situation with a friend, she informed me about "Vet on Wheels"! I was surprised that this service even existed in our town! Thankfully it did, seeing as there would be no way I could get this cat into a portable carrier. I called the service and scheduled an appointment. A couple days later. Dr. P and her Vet Technician were in my driveway in their Mobile Veterinarian office. Dr. P came into my home and successfully sedated my cat and then moved her to her mobile office for examination . I was so pleased with this experience, and since my dogs were coming up for their annual appointments, I decided to have Dr. P exam them instead at the same time. She and her staff were very accommodating to the request, and even worked with our old vet to get their records immediately. Dr. P and her staff are great to work with and the convenience of having your Veterinarian come to you is a luxury well worth it! They were all very knowledge, professional, thorough and their follow up is impeccable. Whenever I hear someone is looking for a new Vet I always refer them to Dr. P with Vet on Wheels. Sincerely, Kristen Mauer & Brian Jewell
