This Brewery was a little bit smaller than we were anticipating, but we love that. It was part of a food market where there were multiple different stalls where you can get food while you enjoyed your beer. They do have indoor and outdoor seating. The beer selection is definitely buried, but they do carry a high selection of sours. My husband tried the priest and the Matador, which is their Vienna lager. He really enjoyed it! Said that it wasn't too hoppy and definitely was an easy drink especially if you want an Amber ale and they're out of there at 407. He also tried the Sol Y Amigos, they are Mexican lager with a hint of salt and lime. It is a super light beer, and he said he definitely got the salt within the first sip of it with a little hint of the lime on the back end. I started with the daydream tangerine, which is a wheat ale with tangerines. Pretty easy drinking and very similar to a blue moon. I also tried the don't peel the reaper which was their banana split sour. It was OK, but not my favorite. I definitely didn't get a lot of the flavors that I was expecting out of it. Service is always good and quick, Robyn is a amazing, attentive and fun to talk to . Good ambiance with some bar seating, and outside tables. Usually on Fridays there is live music as well. This was a super cute beer place! I am newer to the Avalon Park area and was down the street with some girlfriends for brunch when we decided to go check this place out. It was a beautiful day and so we sat down and we're able to order a couple flights and sample other beers. As you can see from their menu they have a ton of variety. There's not much to say about Bowigens. This location is a staple of the Avalon Marketplace. They have seating outside and bar side, as well as being able to bring a beer to your table inside. I'm not a huge "regular" beer person (IPAs, etc.) but they make delicious beers even I can drink. I tend to stick to their sours. read more

Instead of waiting for Octoberfest 1 weekend a year, I can now get beer in Avalon Park every day? Ok, I'm sure I could do that before with a few of the businesses around, but nothing with beer in the title. The establishment is located on the corner of the building and there's an outside bar that encompasses both sides. The inside bar is right inside the door. They have quite a few of their own beers, a couple of guest beers, and also some wines and seltzers. Having just opened, this place gets BUSY, especially on a weekend. People waiting in line to get beer, snagging seats as soon as they open, and doing what they can to get a refreshing beer. We started with a flight then moved on to a few other beers. If you do secure a seat, it's a great spot to have a beer and choose from the many food venues at the marketplace. The staff is attentive except when they're not. As I said, it can get busy and take a while to get a refill or order another. But the staff is super friendly and various team members checked on us throughout the night. I am so thrilled to have a brewery practically in my back yard! Situated in the newly opened Marketplace at Avalon Park, this Bowigens is a new location from the original Bowigens in Casselberry. We've been a few times now and they've added some new releases that will definitely keep me coming back. They offer not only a bunch of their own beers but also have some rotating guest taps. The variety is good with some easy drinking lighter beers as well as some great IPA's and sours for the more adventurous beer connoisseurs. The bar has both indoor and outdoor seating and the staff has been super awesome. It's a perfect place to relax and enjoy a beer or four. ;) read more

Being able to have amazingly fresh beer is your divine right, but to have options and a 10+ tap handle variety is pure capitalism. Yeah, I like to compare religion with business because... aren't they the same? I am joking, I apologize for hurting your feels. The thing is, it's been such a long time since Avalon and Waterford Lakes blossomed that it was just a matter of time since we got our first brewery. I mean, we have good pizza, good coffee, good BBQ, and now good beer. Yeah, things are heating in this part of town. And this won't be the end of it, more good stuff is coming. I hit Bowigens during Oktoberfest, I know that no one celebrates this holiday except people with a drinking problem, ahem, but if you do, they had a nice variety of German inspired beers. I wish all their tap handles were German beers, but I can take two. Next year, I expect more German beers, after all, the big breweries do it and it attracts a lot of people. Other beers are also good here, the space is nice and comfortable, very urban but never crowded. This is a good location and I think more breweries will open nearby soon. I visited this bar while at Avalon marketplace. The staff was very kind and friendly and wanted to help to make good choices. They have plenty of seating outside and plenty of seating inside. They have wonderful signage as to what they have to offer. I wanted to get some cider, but they were in a can, I wish that they were on tap. My husband got the Scottish ale, and Bo-berfest. They were able to give a sample so that you can try it before you purchase it. I think that it was Six dollars and seven dollars for both beers. I saw that they had wonderful flights and people were really enjoying them. We will definitely go back another time and try different things. I was so excited to come here! There's many vendors so you can pick any kind of food you like. We got the following 1. Nachos were decent but not amazing tbh. And the portion isn't as big as other places but it's ok 2. Crawfish etouffe. Wow it was so delicious! Super savory and spicy, the crawfish size was large, and the rice was perfectly cooked. The small size was only $7 and decent sized portion so I definitely recommend to share or just try it out 3. Korean fried chicken. Sweet and spicy and a deep savory flavor. Also crispy and juicy. Comes with tortilla chips but they were kinda stale. Still worth it for the chicken! 4. Jambalaya. It's different than the one I've had before which has a red sauce in it, but this one is more like a dirty rice than jambalaya so I wouldn't get it again, but it does taste pretty good! There's also a cute wine shop with wine slushees and beer and ice team and anything you can think of! It's gone downhill. It used to be great service & beer, & the male bartender gave samples based on what's new & my likes. I'd order a flight once we had them chosen. It was always fun. I've been there a few times. I even would post my dog on social media from there because they asked me to. Horrible service now. The pregnant bartender didn't like much of anything on the menu, really negative, judgmental, & stingy. Wouldn't allow samples to create a flight. Gave 2 tiny drops as "samples" and said no more samples without purchasing a pint first. What?!? Extremely rude glare. Couldn't create my flight. It was bizarre & insulting. Church lady bartender criticizing the different alcohol percentages, one had 12%, & terrible service. (Don't like it, well then, don't drink it...) There were Hispanic laborers that just got off work building in Avalon, and they said she was rude to them too, very snooty, cold. One said he was almost done with his beer and he would gladly order me all the samples I wanted to pick my flight flavors, he insisted, but I told him no thanks, I'm not interested anymore, & will find another place with better customer service. Had been going there for years, this female bartender was so out of place, the worst, a huge difference from previous years. They're also relying too much on cans. I typically only sit at the bar, so I'm not sure how easy this experience would be if you were at a table. This is my second time to Bowigens in the marketplace at Avalon Park. I have been lucky enough to have Greg as my bartender. He is very friendly and knows his beer and food pairings. Now that my favorite bartender, Brian McLaughlin up in Boston at the Erie Pub has retired. He has become my new favorite bartender. Bo Wiggins is a great little bar within doing outdoor seating and plenty of TVs to watch your favorite sports. I would recommend this spot for day or evening relaxation. I love Bowigens. I personally feel they have the best beer in Florida and beyond. I remember when Bobby and his partner opened the one in Casselberry and I thought--damn--these guys are gonna make it. And ---the have. Their new establishment in Avalon Park is fantastic. Food is great and the corner location is the best in Avalon. One suggestion though. Make your beer selection board a lot bigger--similar to the Casselberry chalk board. And make it more descriptive--similar to the Casselberry one. The current one is small and hard to read. As a matter of fact I'd add two on each side of bar. Been here before and who I believe was the owner was very nice and accommodating. Very cool concept and good beer. Came here on a Friday night and sat down at the bar. Owner was with friends and he had 3 bartenders who treated the guests as if they were invisible. Cleaned counters right in front of me while I was hoping to order a beer without even acknowledging me. Horrible service.
