Rolled over to the launch of Lucky Strike in Westchester. Loved the clubby lighting, slick lanes (There are 32!) and score system. Tried the slider, which was delicious. Devoured some fantastic tacos, and chomped on chimichurri chicken skewers. After bowling, I used my loaded Arcade card to play a few games and felt like a kid again. What a fun place to bring the family, some friends or a date!

Lucky strike LA was fun, but I am a little biased because I only came due to a company holiday party. During this party we had a buffet style dinner with chicken fajitas as well as steak, tacos, rice and beans, etc. The food was delicious and good. On top of that we had free rounds for bowling, which was fun; drinks were paid for, which made it even better; and to top it off, they made the arcade mini-games free for us. Service was amazing, and food and games were on point. But this is a totally different experience than one would have if they visited this place on any other day, which is why I debated writing this review. Regardless, based on what I saw, the place looked like it's always a good time. There's plenty of parking, and the entire place is big with multiple bars to help get your drinks going. Food is sold, and prices seem reasonable, so while I had a different experience, I think I most likely will return on a random day to have a good time with friends.

My beer while I waited for the rest of the party. The lady bartender was very nice. The price of the beer was not bad. The place is really big, but really cold. Bring a jacket.

Good vibe, the kind of spot where you lose track of time without trying too hard. California has no shortage of breweries competing for your attention and your wallet... Five Points earns it. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about all the beers there. We tried some of the pizza that they had. My only complaint is that they are frozen and one of them wasn't in long enough. Other than that, they were tasty and affordable. The ambience is your standard industrial warehouse beer venue. It's not going to knock your socks off, but it does the job. There was a guy selling espresso drinks out of a little fiat car outside which I thought was kind of cool for people that don't drink. I don't know why those people would be at a brewery, but hey, I'm sure they were glad he was there also. I would definitely go back if I was in the area again.

I know it primarily because it is the halfway point on my evening run. I always stop and take a look at the view, which in my opinion is magnificent. In fact the Bird Nest is ALL about the view from the patio. You can see from Marina del Rey, to the West (see photo I posted) and Century City, to the East. The spot is truly inspiration point. The next time you are visiting the LMU campus be sure to take the time to visit the Bird Nest and soak in the view.

O Bird Nest. You'll always be the Bird's Nest to me. For some reason, either right before I…read moregraduated from LMU or right afterward, it became a big deal for people who worked for Student Center Facilities or whatever department to refer to this swingin' remnant of the '70s as Bird Nest rather than Bird's Nest. Whatever. This weird clubhouse-like structure will be familiar to anyone who grew up in the '70s or '80s in California. It seems that every place near a beach or a pool had some wooden building with dark windows, a loft, and a conversation pit. LMU's Bird's Nest, or Bird Nest, is no different. I attended many a campus event here, and all of them were disappointing. OK, that's not exactly true. Many of them were wonderful, but Bird's Nest never really lived up to its '70s hype. The loft was always kind of sad, and the conversation pit, while definitely not sad, just never did the best job of maintaining conversations. I will say, however, that it was cool that during pre-orientation my freshman year they had Dazed and Confused on loop here during a mixer. I didn't really watch the movie, and I actually really didn't enjoy this mixer, but this movie and the feelings I had were very appropriate. The Bird's Nest was much cooler when it had a swimming pool next to it. They took that out either in the late '90s or right around 2000. When I was at LMU, it was a tradition that you were thrown into a body of water on your birthday. Most people got thrown into the Foley Pond, which is scary because it's really really really shallow so if you struggled at all you were likely to get hurt. If you had a nice friends, they would throw you into the Bird's Nest's pool. I was one of the throwers once, and the lead thrower counted 2 twice, so I let go of the girl's arms while he held onto her legs. She wasn't injured, but I felt really bad.

My drink was supposed to be ready twenty minutes earlier. I wasn't even trying to order anything new I was just waiting for what was already supposed to be done. Instead the bartender starts yelling at me to get in line like I'm some random walk-up. Unreal. That little power trip from kids who clearly think the uniform gives them authority completely killed the mood. Family event ruined in about thirty seconds. Disheartening doesn't even cover it. And it's not just the bar. Food came out cold and completely flavorless. Service overall has clearly gone downhill hard since they closed and reopened. Whatever they tried to reset clearly didn't stick. The attitude on top of the bad food just seals it. Save your money and your patience. This place isn't worth the headache.

What better place to have a book club meeting than at a brewery?! Haha…read more My girls and I absolutely loved common place; such a vibe with such good music and energy! There's plenty of seating and I can imagine during this time (World Cup season) this place gets so packed and fun in the best way. The service was great. We had a lot of questions about the drinks. We were recommended a flight if we were unsure which you can customize; I definitely recommend this if it's your first time so you can try a little bit of everything. They had a vendor selling tacos, burritos and other Mexican style items which were absolutely delicious and with the drinks it was a perfect combo! I'm not sure if they change that side vendor or if they are a semi permanent partner with them, but I love that they offer small businesses an opportunity to sell their foods. I was told that they used to be located in a different area or accessing brewery was through another area so pay attention to signs, especially for their nearby parking. Although we had no issues finding this space! To end our fabulous book club meeting, we of course, had to take our festivities to the Photo Booth.
