If your child has dreams of playing college softball, quality instruction is invaluable, and Coach Deja is outstanding. She immediately made my daughter feel comfortable while challenging her to improve. We've also had lessons with Coach Chet and Coach Max, and my daughter has loved working with all of them. This spring was our first season on an HQ4 travel team, and it was a fantastic experience. Coach Deja and Coach Max made an incredible coaching team. We watched our girls improve with every tournament, both individually and as a team. They struck the perfect balance of holding the players accountable while encouraging and building their confidence--exactly what teenage athletes need. Coach Chet has also helped build my daughter's confidence at the plate. He has the innate ability to notice the smallest tweaks and help her understand her swing. He always takes the time to explain things so that she knows what adjustments she needs to make or what to look for if she's struggling at the plate. My son has also taken various hitting and pitching lessons with Coach Caleb. Each time, Coach Caleb takes the time to explain the "why" so that my son can understand the correct way to approach his swing and pitching motion. It's so much more than professional instruction; it's passionate people who love the game pouring into these kids, developing their skills, and helping them understand the game and learn what it means to trust the process. The coaches there were great at actually taking the time to invest in teaching you how to throw, and they were very fun and enthusiastic with everyone in attendance. We were greeted at the front desk with the same friendliness and enthusiasm. The boards here were also so much better than any other I've attended. They weren't all beat up, allowing us to land more throws. I'd have to say they had my favorite axes too. They also have multiple different sizes of axes for you to try. My favorite part was that they had different types of scoring games for us to try, rather than the same scoring setup over and over. They also awarded the winner with Mardi gras beads as a trophy for each game. I would choose this place every time from this point toward, when going axe throwing. You won't regret it!

We arrived a little before our time and signed the waiver on their iPad. After a few minutes wait, they brought us to our lane. Our coach was Sophie and she was great! She gave us a tutorial and let us practice as she watched us gave us critique and help. The hour went by presto quick, but it was so much fun. I wouldn't say it was crowded, but most all lane were being used. They sell water, soda and beer. I'm not really sure what the food policy is as I didn't see anyone have any. My only advice is be prepared to wait a few minutes when you get there as they need to do their changeover and move the previous group out.

After about 2 years away, time for an update. I go here…read morefrequently for the driving range. It's open more often than Fort Mill Golf Club just 4 miles away. Today I played the front nine with a 130p tee time, it was 87 degrees and 60% humidity so it was not ideal weather but not unbearable for just 9 holes. Even though Hurricane Debby had blown through four days before dropping 4 inches of rain in Fort Mill, it had dried quickly and conditions were good. It was cart path only on the #5 hole. Built in 2001 and designed by Clyde Johnston, this is the most updated and modern of all the 4 Leroy Springs courses. It's a challenging course which will test your mid-iron game requiring strategic strategy off the tee and approach shots. They have GPS on all the electric carts, a nice large driving range where you can hit off grass and mats as well as a designated chipping area with a small bunker and a large putting green. Really nice ProShop for all the golf gear including mens & women's clothes, shoes, gloves, hat's, belts, towels and a wide selection of golf ball brands. Nice snack bar at the turn with good menu options and a large dining room. You can also use an App called 'birdie' to advance order from the snack bar. The only downsides are the lack of water coolers along the holes and there is only one bathroom on the front nine. Hole #5 is perpetual cart path only. There is no beverage cart, even at the height of the hottest summer days. Many green side bunkers creating side hill & uneven lies.

It's been about a year since my last review of this course…read more It ain't the Country Club, it's the Club in the Country. You can wear your Lynyrd Skynyrd tee if you have one. No one cares, just hit the ball straight and play read golf. They continue to repair tee boxes, just completed #3, 13 & 17, much better now that the grass is growing. They punch the greens every year in early June and it takes about 3 weeks for them to recover, this year no rain so there's that. They REALLY need to do something about the driving range. The MAT's are in terrible condition. You can hit off the grass from time to time. They just tore down the old building adjacent to the club house, the Council on Aging. Supposedly they're going to expand the parking lot. They got the GPS just after the first of the year and they now have a Bev Cart that rolls Friday to Sun. Great Staff here, excellent Customer Service and lots of regulars and members keep this place busy.

I…read morepaid $20 to play the 9 holes twice, but the experience was so bad that I feel like I threw my money away. The tee boxes/mats were in really bad condition. Additionally, the placement of hole 3's tee box was incredibly confusing AND dangerous. Hole 3's tee box is in the direct line of those teeing off hole 9. As for the putting greens, oh my goodness, they were horrific. They were covered with so many golf ball-sized green broccoli head growths.. so my putts bounced and zigzagged. It was really annoying. Oh, and the hole cups were giant. In other words, you can't practice anything: no speed, distance, or control. You won't be leaving a better golfer at all. It's extra sad because this establishment has so much potential. Actually, I don't know. There's A LOT that needs fixing. :(

Over all a great experience with a great staff to assist with the 'bag drop' check in at the Pro Shop & The Turn snack bar. Today, I had the Turkey, Bacon and Ranch panini at The Turn. The Brickwood Restaurant & Bar is closed Mon & Tues. A top tier facility from Bag Drop to Cart Return. It's almost an hour south of Charlotte so there's that but if you're willing to make the drive, you'll be rewarded.
