Besides the employees, it was just me and him in the store. I walked over to a display featuring some knives I had been considering for a while--kind of a grail knife for me. Clearly, I was just stalling, and everyone knew it, but they were kind and polite. Meanwhile, my three-year-old daughter ran all over the store, touching the glass display cases and leaving smudges everywhere. One of the employees casually followed behind her, quietly cleaning the glass but never saying anything rude to me or my daughter.
