Years ago, my mother and I were curious about what it felt like to safely handle and operate a firearm. The Target Range was nearby, so we decided to give it a shot. The employee who helped us gave a thorough and approachable introduction to firearms, walking us through several different options with patience and professionalism. I still remember firing a gun for the first time; the excitement, the nerves, and the rush of trying something completely new. That experience left such an impression that my mother and I eventually returned to purchase our first firearms. For those who are already somewhat familiar with firearms, The Target Range offers a solid selection of handgun calibers for their indoor range. That said, the range does have its limitations. I recently purchased a firearm chambered in 5.7x28, but I was not able to shoot it there because that caliber falls outside of what they currently allow on the range. One major change I noticed is that they no longer display all of their firearms on the wall the way they used to. The wall now appears to feature accessories, while the firearms available for purchase are listed on a paper inventory sheet. Their rental firearms, however, are still displayed in glass cases for range use. Overall, The Target Range is worth considering, especially if you are new to firearms or looking for a professional, approachable place to get started. Its convenient location, knowledgeable staff, and combination range-and-shop setup make it a standout option in the area.

Some of the lanes were out of order and the machines to pull the target wasn't working properly. Ventilation could be better, there wasn't much airflow. Add some lighting, it was super dark in there.

The Sebenza purchase is actually a very funny and memorable story for me. One day, I was out for a drive with my three-year-old daughter, who always falls asleep better when I play music in the car. After she dozes off, I usually take her home and put her to bed. That day, while driving past the knife shop's new location, I noticed a celebrity walking into the store. I won't say who he was, but he's been around for a long time, and I'm a huge fan. Of course, I pulled into the parking lot and went inside right away. Besides the employees, it was just me and him in the store. I walked over to a display featuring some knives I had been considering for a while--kind of a grail knife for me. Clearly, I was just stalling, and everyone knew it, but they were kind and polite. Meanwhile, my three-year-old daughter ran all over the store, touching the glass display cases and leaving smudges everywhere. One of the employees casually followed behind her, quietly cleaning the glass but never saying anything rude to me or my daughter. After standing around for what felt like an uncomfortably long time, I decided to bite the bullet and make a purchase. I still have that knife and use it regularly, just like any other pocket knife. But every once in a while, I look at it, smile, and think about that day--the day I stood awkwardly close to one of my childhood idols, unable to say anything intelligible, while my daughter ran around making noise and leaving fingerprints on everything. Recon 1 is a class act! They deserve the reputation and repeat business.
