Went to them for a trailer hitch. Paid for part up front. Waited a week for the part to arrive Dropped off the car when it did, took an uber home. Got a call that the part was incorrect. Ubered back to the store Was told they would get a new part. The next day they asked for my vin number, which I gave The following day I was told they would find a solution and get back to me. After 4 days I followed up. No reply. After 5 days I followed up again. I'm told they haven't heard back from their supplier. On the 6th day I tell them I'm feeling foolish for having paid up front. On the 7th day I was told there was no solution and was offered a refund and was instructed to call the store for that. So I did. And was put on hold for 20 minutes before I hung up and called back. Whoops, they forgot about me. At that time, I got my refund. What did I get out of this experience? A bill for 2 uber rides and a lot of wasted time. UPDATE: Greg M., while I appreciate your response, I do not feel like reaching out to Bryan Trudeau. This is just more time and effort on my part. I was informed that the work I requested cannot be completed by Rack Attack and I need to find a different shop. The widow to correct this situation has closed. Go and speak with your employees to learn about how to better improve your service - I was pretty clear with what my experience was: mismanaged expectations, lack of attention and bad customer service. read more

I ordered a Prinsu pro rack for my 2024 4runner trd pro. They received it 5 weeks after they said it would be delivered. I paid 400 for installation and dropped it off, reminded them to use the included lock tight. I returned to pick up my truck and the installer told me the extra pieces are in the back of my runner. He said the extra pieces for a Tacoma or to make my rack 3/4 long. Those pieces were discarded but an essential part of the rack. I complained. They reorder the rack, another 6 weeks until they received it. They reinstalled the pieces and never once put a drop of lock tight on the bolts. They are supposed to be professional. I should have went to cali raised. Even though its 3 hours away. I won't be going to rack attack again. read more

Walked in on a Saturday afternoon nearly ready to buy not one but two cargo boxes, one for my truck and another for my teardrop trailer. Was eager to get some detailed recommendations from the store. I was the only customer and there was NO ONE in the showroom, but I could hear someone rustling around in the back. I looked at all the cargo boxes, took some pics, compared options, researched more info online and fake coughed a lot to get some attention--20 minutes passed with no human in sight. Double checked to make sure I wasn't wearing my invisibility cloak. Finally some dude appeared at the front desk as the phone was ringing and he took the call. No eye contact, no excuse me, no wave, nothing. Really? Someone calling in gets more prompt service than a person in the store with a credit card in my back pocket? Beyond rude. These guys are still the best. During the heavy rains in SoCal, I noticed water in my truck bed. There was a serious gap between my retrax covering and tail gate. The cover was also off track to were it was hard to close and grinding when closed. I called the guys and made an appointment for an adjustment. Took it in and about 35-40 min later Jody fixed the problem. About two weeks ago I noticed a smaller space between the cover and tailgate. When opening, it came off track. I put it back in place, but there was some serious play with track and cover. Called the guys again and set another appointment. Drove down, met up with Miles and Jody. Explained that I keep heavy gear in the back and it may be banging against the canister and throwing it off track. The guys checked it out, Miles hooked Jody up with the tools and he made the adjustments. He adjusted the cover until there was no gap. It's like new, nice and secure. No charge. The customer service is awesome, the guys are friendly and the service is awesome. Talked about a particular bike rack, miles let me know it was discounted. Discounted by $100, had to grab a couple, lol. Check these guys out, you won't be disappointed. read more

Todays experience? Super-De-Duper! Very knowledgeable group of guys. Today I bought a Roof Rack (Thule XT ProRide). I drive a Mini Cooper, and have the OEM Cross Rails on it - that's the problem - these particular rails are "thick". So, most of the standard racks wont fit around the bar. These guys? They went out of their way to help - giving me some options. Ultimately, they helped me fit it to the car, and ended up "upselling" me a Key lock for it! (Good people!) I appreciate it! read more

The Thule website said that Rack Attack had it in stock. I figured I would get hammered on price, but oh well. I was totally wrong. they sold me the rack at the same price as Thule on line. W00T! But wait, there is more. I have been to too many store where the employees act like robots and you can tell they are not happy. Incredible service, installation, product knowledge, and employees!!!! August 26 of 2023 at opening, a friend and I walked into Rack Attack hoping for a miracle. My Kia Niro is not well equipped to transport two bicycles (one being an e-bike), and we were already running late for our Burning Man departure. The two men working became our immediate heroes, providing extensive knowledge and perfect solutions for our gargantuan problem. Within a couple hours, we were on the road. The racks are exceptional. The installation is impeccable. I cannot rant and rave about this place enough!! Even my father--who vehemently dissuaded me from attaching a trailer or rack install--was blown away and excited by this new addition that I now have for my car. Thank you, Rack Attack! I was lazy, didn't shop around and ordered a tow hitch at this place. They were very helpful, nice, and really knew what they were doing. However, once I started to look around, I found the exact same hitch at uhaul for roughly half the price. Installation here, which I will decline, is also light-years beyond uhaul and other specialty shops in price. They have good stuff and are very knowledgable but the overcharging is extreme. read more

Unintentional incompetence or purposefully corrupt? Don't let the smiles and welcomes fool you. Like a marriage gone bad, everything is lovely until a return has to be made. Moreover, this is the perfect establishment where so-called experts are naive and ignorant and don't even possess the know-how to use Google properly. I went in to purchase a cargo box. I had countless questions regarding the effect the cargo box would have on my MPG. I was told that it would decrease my MPG by two to three miles if I drove past a certain speed but for verification purposes, the gentleman (who was a gentleman at the time) decided to double check on line. He soon after said, "huh, there's no information on line." For the record, the following morning, within seconds, I found countless articles and statistics on the amount the MPG would decrease as a direct result of adding a cargo box to my specific vehicle. Mr. Gentleman apparently does not know how to properly use the WORLD WIDE WEB. I also had several questions regarding the return policy. I was told that as long as the product was in the same shape as I had purchased it, I would have 60 days to return the item. This was about an hour before closing - about 4:00 PM. That evening and the morning after, I noticed first hand the amount of gas decreasing as I was driving it, and due to the WORLD WIDE WEB the morning after, realized that the cargo box would affect my MPG by a minimum of 25-30%. This was too much loss of gas for me to keep the box. The morning after, 18 hours on the dot after making the purchase (not 59 days), as I patently waited in my classroom for the clock to turn 10:00 AM (opening time), I called Rack Attack and another individual told me that I can bring the car in, no problem, and they would give me a full refund. Two hours later, when I called again to let them know that I'll be coming during my break, I was told that they would charge me a restocking fee. FYI: the restocking fee on the receipt itself states that it would cost me 15% but the manager, someone new to the mix, decided to charge me 22% since they, the store, threw away the box. After enough complaining, the manager did ME a favor and reduced it down to 20% even though the receipt clearly states that the restocking fee is only 15%, and even even (purposeful sik) though I was never told the day before when I inquired that there would be a stocking fee and additionally told when I initially called that I would receive a full refund. The cargo box was returned in the same exact shape as when I purchased it. It was still brand new. Yet, I was charged $131 for a stocking fee. The corrupt, apathetic manager and Mr. Gentleman who now became Mr. Sarcastic Rude Jerk didn't seem to care one bit about customer service. In regard to the additional $29 they got, due to the 20% vs. the 15%, if I had the time and energy, I would fight for because of the legal standing I have. It is such a shame that customer service and empathy and honesty are no longer prevalent in society. Companies have to lie and cheat and steal from the pockets of hard working individuals, and for what? Pennies more in their pocket. Rack Attack may have gained an additional $131 and stolen $29 of it illegally, but they lost a returning customer for life and I will use every platform available to spread their corrupt tactics to all who are willing to listen/read. read more

Highly Recommend! I purchased a hitch for my SUV from an online retailer (ETrailer) & on their list of approved installers was Rack Attack. I made an appointment online (for a Sunday!) brought my car in & left it with them. When I returned, Jefry (The installer) informed me that he was having trouble fitting the hitch onto the undercarriage of the car, & that he thinks the arms may have gotten bent? He said he would keep trying, but I may have to return the hitch & get another? I called ETrailer customer support & told the person what Jefry just told me. She told me that sometimes the arms do get bent in shipping, but there is an easy method to get it back in place. I asked if she would speak to Jefry directly, which she did (she also emailed instructions) A few minutes later, Jefry came in to tell me that he got it to fit & that he just needed to bolt it in & put the finishing panels back on. Huge props to Jefry for not giving up on a difficult install! If you need a hitch, pickup cover, bike rack & so much more... Give Rack Attack a try! read more

Hubs went online and saw one we might be able to use so he called Rack Attack in Sherman Oaks to see if they had it in stock. They did so we headed over. They didn't have one on display but Jef knew all about it. He thoroughly explained everything in language we could understand. We also realized we needed some extra stuff and wondered out loud where we could get them but....they had those parts too!! And they were running a cyber monday special!! Great customer service. I took my Yakima roof box out of storage for a weekend trip and couldn't find the key for the cylinder locks. I called ahead to see if they had the key I needed and they didn't have it, but they offered to trade cylinders with me for a set that they had the correct key for.
