We went here on our first night in the city. Ordering at the kiosk was easy and fast. The restaurant was a bit bot but not as hot as outside! The pizzas and chicken Parmesan sub were both good. Only complaint is online the website says you get free pizza if you find an upside down pepperoni on the pork pepperoni pizza and our kid found one! Unfortunately, the worker did not know about this claim so it's a bit of false advertising. I didn't have high hopes, but even bad pizza is good pizza, right? This wasn't bad pizza. Clearly, it was made with care and attention to detail. I didn't plan on eating the whole small pie, but it was delicious and I didn't want to stop. Bright, fresh sauce, herbs, good cheese, and a chewy, yet crispy crust made my Margherita memorable. Growing up in New York City, living in Chicago and Urbana-Champaign for 17 years, I am a bit of a pizza snob. This is good. I had the 10 inch white pizza, which comes with spinach, and I added sautéed mushrooms. This was great. Not overly seasoned, but the quality and freshness of ingredients shown through. Crust (standard hand thrown) was nicely cooked, and both the crust and the cheese had the type of browning that one sees in a nice NY pizza. It is a little pricey, but that's pretty much expected in DC. I typically stop by during the middle of the day on weekdays since I work nearby. Found myself on K street and 13th, NW and had heard about the Buzz at Bozzelli's. Not big on haute decor, but the subs and salads are the real deal. You order at a kiosk (why only 2?) and wait for pick up. The Caprese sub with Fire roasted chicken was indeed fire! Not spicy, but filling with savory and sweet sauce to augment the tender chicken. My friend had the Pastrami Reuben and you'd be hard pressed to find a more tender and juicy cut of that sweet meat. The crust was rice and/or potato starch-based - it was okay but nothing special (I prefer corn or cauliflower). The sauce, cheese, and cherry tomatoes were good. We walked forever to get to Stan's at 9:30, and we're so bummed they were full. But Bozzellis was open and we were hungry. We came in hot, with 9 people. Armando took care of us so well. I was really in the mood for pizza and this was the spot that I found from google maps. It was super close by the White House and I had to give it a try! I was starving, so I decided to go with both wings and pizza. I settled on the 10 BBQ wings and the 10inch Pepperoni Pizza. It was super easy to order on their website and I opted for a pickup order. The pizza was steaming hot which is the best way to eat fresh pizza. I really liked the pepperoni but the pizza itself could've used a little more cheese and sauce. The wings were really tasty. It's ironic that the pizza didn't have enough sauce, as the wings had too much sauce. I think they were really good though so I definitely would recommend them if you are in the mood for wings. Trying to find pizza close to our hotel on a Friday night in DC was not fun! I found Bozzelli's on my yelp app and they were the closest walk with good reviews. The diners inside were happy and their pizza's were looking pretty good! The dining area had several tables and looked pretty clean. The cashier/pizza maker was friendly and very helpful for a first timer. She explained what Bozzelli's was all about and was very happy to be there. They are definitely a quick service model pizza place. Quick thaw ready-to- stretch dough, just add sauce, cheese, ingredients and then place it in a conveyor style oven. They made another half pass through the conveyor for my well done request. There was nothing awful about the pizza, but it's very much like a chain style. Cheese to sauce ratio leaned towards the thick cheese, dough was pretty crispy and the hot pepper flake packets they gave me helped give some kick and flavor. It's OK, quick convenient, good enough, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. I'd give another half star if I could because the girl working was extremely nice. When I told her I had to walk several blocks she gave me a convenient plastic carry bag with handles. It really came in handy! read more
