Loved the pizza! We got the white and the honey. The location is prime. The price is right! Nice staff too!

We were at the Wharf on a beautiful and busy Saturday evening. We originally planned to go to bartaco but when we heard the wait for dining in OR carry out were well over an hour, we decided to go somewhere else. Union pie is one of my favorites and hoped it was open (as other reviews stated their hours are a bit unpredictable). Luckily it was open and goodness it was the quickest I ever had pizza from them on a Saturday! It probably was 10 minutes from when we ordered and havint pizza sitting in front of us. We found a table right by there to enjoy our dinner. The pepperoni never disappoints - thin crust and thick sliced pepperoni. It was a bit greasy, but added to its deliciousness.

Union Pie has really good pizza! The kiosk doesn't keep normal hours so I usually stop in Union Stage to grab a quick pie. The crust is thin (almost like a tortilla) but the pizza is so cheesy and has really good flavor. The hot & sweet is my favorite and it has a good kick with the Serrano peppers. Union stage only has 3 pizza flavors, cheese, pepperoni, and hot & sweet. It's never too busy where I can't get a seat, even on show night and they have good drink specials, it's the best pizza option at the wharf.

The first thing to know about Union Pie is that you never know when Union Pie is actually open. They have stated hours on their website, but you can never really rely on those. It has to be the afternoon or evening, over 50 degrees, and no rain or gusts of wind. My wife and I have had our share of their different types of pizza. They're all pretty good. My favorites are the Hot and Sweet or the White. Recently, I got a Whole White Pizza with Pepperoni added. The primary benefit of this spot, at least for me, is the availability of gluten-free crust without breaking the bank. Also, the attendants are always courteous and work through their orders quickly, so you won't be waiting long. Food: 4/5 Ambiance: It's a kiosk on the water! Service: 4/5

A fun little pizza takeout counter on the Wharf, one of my favorite areas in dc! The pizza is fine, if not a bit overpriced. The mumbo chicken wasn't as tender as I had hoped, but the gluten free cheese pizza rocked!

The mid pizza too greasy, pepperonis are burnt just not great.

The service was terrible guy was an ass to me and my girl and pretty much everyone else there food was mid but okay for 1130 at night, but the ambiance surrounding the little shop was nice they had a nice eating area, waterfront and all

Decided to grab a quick slice of pizza before hitting a show at The Anthem. It's basically a half a pizza for $9, decent price I suppose for the pricy SW DC Wharf. Plenty of quality cheese and it's super thin crunchy crust, a la Jersey Tavern style Pizza. I'd have it again. It's worth a try

Super quick service and delicious pizza after a long day exploring the city! Located right on the Wharf, it's convenient as well.

If you're a bar pie fan, you'll like Union Pie. It's definitely reminiscent of some of the pies I ate growing up. I've been twice. I didn't have the best service the first time, but I spoke up, and the service was fantastic the second time. I also didn't care for the plain cheese version, as it was a bit lacking in flavor. The veggie version is my favorite--the vegetables come perfectly charred and it's super delicious. If you like pepperoni, definitely go with that option. I appreciate that the 'ronis are uncured. It's also nice to have a reasonably priced eating option on District Wharf.

If you want a quick grab and go meal to enjoy outdoors, union pie is the right spot. They have pretty good thin crust pies for decent pricing at the wharf. We got the white pizza, and the cheese and tomato pizza. Service was pretty quick and we didn't feel like going to a sit down restaurant so I liked grabbing our pies and eating them outdoors. The white pizza was good, but it didn't have as much flavor and too much ricotta. The cheese was my favorite and had a bit more flavor to it. I recommend half per person and a whole for two; it's pretty filling. You can mix and match two halves...to make a whole :). I give it three stars because it's fast and tasty, but not really unique in anything.

This Is Detroit-Style Pizza, So Don't Expect New York Style. It's Thick, With A Generous Amount Of Mozzarella Cheese & Tomato Sauce. Honestly, It Almost Felt Like A Cheesy Bread Situation But In A Good Way. The Crust Was Buttery With A Slight Crisp On The Outside & Soft Inside, Which Was The Perfect Balance. Through the side door, of course. Side Door Pizza is essentially a takeout counter just off the kitchen with its own separate entrance. We didn't quite realize that going in, and since it was cold and windy, we asked if we could take our pizza inside and sit at Scarlet Oak. They were happy to accommodate, asking only that we order something there as well, so we grabbed a drink. The pizza came out quickly, hot and fresh. We're vegetarians, so we ordered one square slice of cheese and one square slice of mushroom. The cheese slice was good but not great. It could have used a bit more sauce and seasoning. The mushroom slice, however, was excellent. We both immediately agreed we should have just ordered a full mushroom pie. Overall, it was a really enjoyable experience. The environment was welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive. If you're in the Navy Yard area, it's definitely worth a stop. They also have a fairly extensive menu beyond pizza, which we didn't explore this time--but if you go, it's worth checking out the full lineup.

That month I had started Uber driving, was in this area of DC, had heard good things about Wiseguy, and decided to eat here. Although I don't like paying to park just to simply eat a meal, I sometimes will make an exception for convenience and/or if it's a place I really want to go. But for the most part, I'll go to restaurant where they have free parking or at least I can find free parking near the restaurant. I remembered getting a parking spot very close and feel like I feed the meter like 50 cents in 2014 parking prices for a quick 30 minute meal. They have all kinds of varieties of slices from the standard toppings or just cheese to fancy ones. Although the pizza is fairly thin, but average for New York style pizza. I tried Andy's Pizza 11 years later in 2025, and while it was solid although not as good as Wiseguy, my real complaint with Andy's was that the pizza is very thin, where I was hungry very soon later; so a much worse value as pricing is comparable to Wiseguy. Wiseguy slices are big, and the pizza is top notch New York style. I went to this location a couple of more times after my initial August 2014 visit as I loved the pizza. Then, they opened up other locations. I went to Navy Yard one at least twice, once after a Nationals baseball game after a disappointing loss for my 4th favorite baseball team, Texas Rangers. Sorry Nats fans, but Nats are in my bottom 10 teams. I also went to Rosslyn & Pentagon City location, where parking isn't quite as bad. They even had a Wheaton Mall food court location, which I got to experience once, but they sadly closed. Every experience with Wiseguy has been positive.

Premium toppings. Fresh, plentiful, great quality. We ordered both well done and received a nice crispy edge on the crust but with all the toppings it's damn near impossible to get a strong enough base to avoid bend. It's worth the compromise- trust me! Both were delicious but I'll skip the detroit crust next time, and there will be a next time. For me the detroit crust was a bit spongy and had a slight yeast taste. Not enough to ruin the experience but enough for me to choose a different crust next time. We also got the ranch for dipping - new experience. That too wasn't for me. The ranch is homemade and great texture and flavor just not what I expected. It had a heavy dill flavor...yep...dill. My biggest pet peeve about NY style pizza places is that it's impossible to snag a hot slice out of the oven. When the pipping hot pizza is taken out of the oven, it's tucked under the display case. By the time the pizza pie is depleted from the display case, the hidden pizza gets cold as it's finally moved up. The cycle repeats itself...so you can never get a hot fresh slice of pizza. The Garlic Knots were hands-down the best part of my oil! I wish I could order a single knot as I didn't really want 3 knots. While the Chicken and Eggplant Parm are heavily promoted on flyers at the tables, I didn't see them on the menu, it would have been helpful to see before ordering. There's plenty of seating upstairs. I first had Wiseguy on 3rd & Massachusetts Ave NW way back in 2014, and I knew I loved their pizza. I had also been to a couple of other locations in Arlington & their only one in MD, which closed, at Wheaton Mall. I visited this Navy Yard Wiseguy about 3 times. The first was on Monday, January 6, 2020. I had work travel to DC. My girlfriend of that time was working in DC. It was a brief period of time. She started in December 2019, then on that Friday, 1/10, the contract was furloughed due to the contract company President dying, so she was off for 2 weeks. Then, it was back to normal commuting back to DC, which was brief, as Covid was around the corner, and became 100% remote. She was happy I surprised her coordinating lunch at Wiseguy at Navy Yard not far from her work. This location was pretty new at the time. She & I loved our pizza. It's a thin NY style, perhaps the best in the DMV! The other noteworthy time I visited was on Saturday, July 8, 2023. Early that afternoon, I was way up at Columbia Mall, where I happened to be writing this Yelp review now, as I ate lunch & had a movie on my AMC A-List. Afterward, I was texting/calling with a friend. He was itching to go to a baseball game. O's were away, but Nationals were in town playing against one of my favorite teams, the Texas Rangers, and I had their pitcher in our Fantasy baseball league. We coordinated that afternoon having about 1.5 hours to buy tickets on phone, for me to drive from Columbia to Greenbelt Metro with some modest traffic on parts of 95, & metro all the way on Green line for the 4:05 game. My friend was running a bit later, so we didn't enter right at 4:05, but my heart sank when I heard Nats fans loudly cheering for a homer. My Rangers pitcher got clobbered by the Nats. I was pissed at him quickly dropping him the next morning as soon as I could. Although rain chances were low like 15%, there was a heavy thunderstorm that blew from DCA to Nats Park; almost the entire region was clear, but just bad luck. The rain lasted like 15 minutes, but I was pissed at the Nats because they delayed the game by 1.5 hours! They should've gotten the game going within 45 minutes. I think it was a ploy by the Nats to get people to buy more drinks & food. I refused to give the Nats a dime besides the ticket to go to the game. But after the rain, I was hungry from like the 5th inning to the end. We should've been out of there about 6:30 (which would've been on par with my hunger level) but instead like 8 PM. I told my friend about Wiseguy seeing it was quick & relatively cheap. He loved their pizza too as did I once again. If I'm ever in Navy Yard, Wiseguy is definitely a viable option for me.
