When I questioned that total and pointed to the TireRack order email, the staff tried to gaslight me and claimed they don't make contracts with TireRack and are allowed to change the price anyway, pointing a finger at the "if order changes" clause from my Tire Rack email. The mechanic told me that I should have called beforehand (I had) and confirmed the install price (I hadn't, because it was stated in the Tire Rack order email), and that they weren't making money on the install (not my problem, and $91/hour seems in line with the work). The facts are that the order hadn't changed, and I was quoted $182 for installing four tires. Oakton Auto Service Center (associated with Chahel Automotive) is greedy and dishonest.
