I called this place to inquire about the cost for labor on an oil change and oil filter. I was quoted $35. When I got the bill, it was $37.5. The guy on the phone forgot to factor in an $2.5 EPA fee so no big deal. As I was reaching for the bill from the first guy, a second guy said she got a "special" filter. A regular filter cost $5 and the "special" filter cost $11. I checked with a male friend, that filter costs $7.5. So the bill was adjusted to $42 (yes, the math doesn't work out). Then a third guy adjusted the bill to $45 with NO EXPLANATION. This place will ripped you off. Stay away!!!! read more

Ajay and crew are honest, helpful, and do excellent work. I have taken several cars and gotten my inspections, tune-ups, and repairs done there. I have never had a problem with any of the work they have done. Those problems range from cracked axles to brakes to burned out power window motor. All the work was done professionally and quickly. They have even been honest enough to tell me that I didn't need work done. I have recommended them to several friends who have been satisfied and became ongoing customers. I recently moved to Maryland and had a horrible experience at a Honda dealership. My fiance told me she and her family has had amazing experiences here. So I drove from Bethesda to Fairfax Circle to get work done on my vehicle so it can pass Maryland state inspection. Amin was very kind, honest, helpful and trustworthy. His shop was able to get the repairs done that I needed for half the price the Bethesda Honda dealer quoted me for. They also discovered that my oil and oil filter were dirty, which was weird because that dealer was supposed to change it. They didnt charge me for the oil change. I have used Circle Sunoco thrice in the last few months for a brake job on my 2012 Ford Fusion, an inspection and today for an oil change. I have been very happy with all three occasions. The fellow who did the brake job has moved to Maryland, I was told, but Mo, who did the last procedure was very thorough and professional. This Sunoco used to be my go to place to keep my old family car on the road. I used to deal with the General Manager Yama. I also felt that he was fair and honest and only recommended the repairs that I needed. Unfortunately Yama moved on. The owner Amim now does the quotes and billing. I was shocked at the bill when I picked up my car from the last repair. There were unauthorized items not even remotely related to the repairs performed on my bill. Too bad that this service station has gone down hill. The price quoted for the work will not be the same once you receive the bill. I strongly recommend going else where. I was filling up my tank (motorcycle) and as i readjusted the nozzle, the gas hit the bar inside the tank causing it to spray up into my face and eyes. The two attendants helped me get to the bathroom to rinse my eyes and face. I was given saline solution to flush it out, and then some eye lubricant. .They were extremely calm and helpful! I wouldn't normally review a gas station, but this is one of the very few places I've found that does state inspections on the weekend: all day Saturday and even a good chunk of Sunday (8-5 on Saturday, 11-5 on Sunday if remember the sign correctly). Very dishonest. I went in for a diagnosis. I was told it was a major problem choosing $1000 to repair. I did a lot of research online which led me to doubt their diagnosis. I took the car to two different repair shops and both said the original diagnosis was incorrect. I ended up having the repair done somewhere else at a much lower price. Back when I drove more, and before I started getting gas at the grocery store (great discounts due to the shopping rewards), I was a frequent and satisfied gas customer here. The prices were towards the low end, there was rarely much of a line, and never a problem. Like another reviewer, I didn't think to review it here, until now, due to my happy experience with their state safety inspections. My car needed some maintenance, so I was going to drop it off with my usual mechanic last night, for that plus an inspection. (You might have noticed today is the first of the month. My inspection was actually due *last* month.) But then they (not Circle Sunoco, but my usual) told me they don't do Saturday inspections, as they haven't made the special arrangements needed with the state. (Blame the state for *needing* that one! But also blame my usual mechanics for not mentioning that fact, when I called and said I wanted to drop it off for the maintenance *and an inspection*.) So, I didn't drop it off after all, and was in a bit of a hurry to find a place to get inspected, before I got a ticket. This morning, I *planned* to use the station that was front-of-mind because of the coupons they often send out. (I wouldn't have *used* the coupon because it wasn't good until the 5th of the month.) I called them at about 7:45 AM to check how long the line was, and they estimated it at already three and a half hours! (Remember, we're *still* not talking about Circle Sunoco yet.) So I looked on Google for alternatives. Another didn't open for another couple hours, another had closed, another listed their inspection hours and didn't do weekends, another got bad reviews... Then up popped good ol' Circle Sunoco! I called, and the guy stepped out for a moment to check the line. Only two cars, so estimated half hour wait. By the time I got there, the cars were already being inspected -- NO LINE for inspections on the first of the month (well, except the ones already being inspected), a miracle! It seemed like maybe five to ten minutes until one of those was done, and someone came out to get my car in and inspected. It only seemed like about five to ten minutes later that it was all done! I was worried that it was because it had failed something early on and they had skipped the rest, but no, everything was fine. The guy who brought it out said it was because they had two people working on it -- I thought that was the usual, but either it's not or they've got very fast-working people. I was out my door no earlier than about 8:10, and back home by about 8:30, including a few minutes of travel each way. So, if you're looking for a fast honest inspection, decent gas prices, and no hassles, go to Circle Sunoco! I'm tempted to look into them for the scheduled maintenance I need too. read more

I have gone there for inspections, fill-ups and mechanical work. AJ and Barry are great guys. I have an older ML500 and AJ did great work on the steering, break rotors/pads, and oil change. Most recently the ABS control unit malfunctioned. Barry read-out the code and helped me find a used part -- not easy for this model. Once the part came in, Barry installed it -- and the car's break system seems to be better than ever. Great job! Thank you. DO NOT COME HERE!!! Took my car here to get it inspected today. After putting the car in a lift, the inspector told me that my exhaust was bad. Since it was not making noise, I asked him where the leak was and he was unable to show me . He just told me he's an inspector and he knows better. After he said he could fix it of course. Dropped off my car for the state inspection. Guy who picks up the car says-- inspections and emissions? So I say just inspections, no emissions for the Tesla. He gives me a look and says okay we'll take care of it. Early Teslas have a weak spot on the front lip of the hood. So Tesla updated to instruct closing the front hood a certain way. I walk around and just let them know about the front lip crease warning and ask if I can show them how we were instructed to avoid damaging the hood. The response I get from the manager/ inspector is, "you need to let us do our jobs, I get Lamborghinis and Ferraris in here. I don't know you. Actually, you need to just leave. We get paid $4 for a $14 dollar inspection and it's not worth it to deal with this." Really. Wow. So yeah, I told them I don't understand why this was even a problem and left. I don't want to end up with $1800 bill because someone's fragile ego couldn't handle the fact that mayyyyybe... Maybe little things come up with different cars and you can pick things up from places here and there. Not telling you how to do your job or else I wouldn't be asking you to clear my car, just letting you know there's something quirky about it. And no. I'm not bringing my Ferrari here, so you won't be able to say that to the next person coming through. I'll still look enviously at the rows of Lamborghinis you speak of pulling in and out of your garage though. Go to Circle Auto two streets down. The one star was going to be 5 because they did the oil change with the inspection on a holiday, very nice. You can judge the rest- $16 state inspection without emissions, $9.50 tail light plus $12 to put the light in, $42.50 for the oil change (including changing the oil filter) for a total of $80+. The mechanic went over and above to be helpful, explaining to me that our brakes needed to be replaced and found the time to replace them that day because he knew I was in a hurry. Was very clear and honest about what other work the car might need in the future without trying to push me to getting any of the work done at that time. I didn't think I'd review a gas station but this review is for state and emissions inspections. I had to look around quite a bit on Yelp for reliable inspection stations. Hopefully, this review will help others out. This place can get crowded during the weekends for inspection services but if you're able to get in early on the weekends or able to go in on a weekday morning, it's very quick. Just park at the section marked for inspections and a person will come out and greet you and take the car in for inspection. Assuming that you don't have any issues, you'll likely be out of there in about 15 minutes. They're efficient and friendly. I will definitely return here for future inspection visits. read more

Did my emission check w/ these guys. Five (FIVE!) days later they still did not update the info in the DMV system and I cannot renew my plates on-line by the deadline as a result! Every single day I re-entered the info and every single day it turned out the DMV had not received it yet, so the system is not letting me complete the payment. I called the DMV and they confirmed that the info is missing. Was advised to get to the Inspection Station and ask them to have my car test results submitted...Sure, if you have a tone of time on your hands you can do that. But if you don't want to lose time and energy, just don't do the emission check here! read more

I will never, ever, go back to a dealership to get in work done on my vehicle. Yama has been consistently honest with me, frank, and up-front. I've been meaning to write this review for a while now. The first time I brought my car to Yama, it was after the dealership quoted me $2000 plus to address tire noise and wanted to replace all 4 of the ball joints and the tires. Yama looked at it, said only one needed to be replaced and I needed to replace the tires. About $800 later I was back on the road with no noise. Recently, I had my AC compressor cut out (after the dealership said nothing was wrong with it) and I called I took it, again, to the dealership for a quote. They wanted OVER $2000 to replace the compressor and flush the AC system. Not trusting that, I went back to Yama and he also noticed that my clutch was shot and needed to be replaced as well and he could do the work for a little over $1300 and could turn it around in a day. They're always friendly, they have given me rides to and from my house and their location as well as the metro, and they are more than willing to sit down with you and create a comprehensive maintenance plan for my vehicle. Today, I used my credit card and the pump wouldn't accept it and said to see the attendant. I went inside to see the attendance,Hassan, who ignored me standing there. I thought maybe he didn't understand English so I asked him again what the problem might be and he continued to ignore my question and went back to doing whatever he was doing. In my frustration, I left. I don't understand why common courtesy is a lost art. I will not be buying gas from this station nor will my family be buying gas from this station as there are too many apps that will direct me to cheaper stations who are quite possibly more courteous and willing to answer simply questions. read more
