Ken inspected our home before our purchase, and explained what he found and the recommendations. He did an excellent job of translating knowledge for people who have never owned a house and have no background in home repairs. We did not get a chimney inspection before the sale. After we bought the house, our chimney started leaning. We reached out to Ken about our chimney inspection, which we got after noticing a hole, and a quote we got for repair. he spent hours discussing this with a chimney expert he knew, and the chimney expert gave a second opinion, which worked out great for our needs. During the inspection, Ken also gave ballpark estimations for the repairs he identified as necessary for moving in. They were spot on. The only difference was the chimney, but that was with the caveat of what he could see, and that we should get a chimney inspection. read more

We recently used inspector Chris Chang from BPG inspections and he missed a significant hole in a wall. We tried to make a claim against their advertised warranty and the company promised to call us within 24-48 hours but never did. We have called múltiple times and no one has called back. DO NOT use this company. read more

Dean Heim completed an inspection on a 1940s house in Fairfax City. The house was not very well maintained so Dean pointed out a few minor things like lights missing panels. When we specifically pointed at what we thought was termite damage, he just said that it was old and possibly caused by water damage but it was not caused by termites. There were several spots that were obvious termites that he didn't think anything of it. After buying the house we found termites and had a termite company come out and couldn't believe how obvious the damage was that Dean didn't think were termites. We have since spent over $100k renovating all the walls that were damaged that we would not have had to do had we not bought the house that we relied on Dean's "expertise". read more

We just completed our home inspection with Ken Humphreys for a newly purchased home in Arlington. He was extremely thorough and took the time to answer all of our questions. Our house was built in 1948 and is a quirky house with different additions. Ken uncovered a lot of things and was able to explain them easily to us by categorizing them in when we should address, with some being in the immediate next week. Ken also corrected a few things during his inspection, like coloring wires black and removing stickers so the HVAC would turn off immediately when the panel was removed. KEN HUMPHREYS stated serious issues verbally, yet did not present those serious issues in his report. He has the nerve to discuses with my then client, into letting me go to use a realtor "he, Ken" feels comfortable with. Why is Ken not comfortable with me and feels he can not work with me in the future and can so easily use his position to take business away from a realtor like that? Simply gross! This is in writing from my now ex-client, along with all his praises in the work I did for him yet, let's me go after Ken shares his concerns of being "comfortable". Six weeks of work gone and handed over to a realtor friend of his. Want to hold onto your clients, I would recommend NOT using him. Most unethical and unprofessional inspector I ever came across in my Real Estate career. read more
