Review in Spanish under English review:…read more I've said this before and I'll say it again. I appreciate how Dr. Hector has always been incredibly helpful with my dogs. Last week, my bully had an ACL tear, and surgery was the only option to avoid long-term limitations and medication. Even though I live in the Bay Area, I don't mind traveling for non-urgent surgeries because I trust Dr. Hector completely. My dog always heals quickly and well under his care. Dr. Hector provides all necessary medications and is always reachable with the most helpful information. The doctor provides taxi/pick up drop off from and to San Diego.

HospiVet did an outstanding job and I happily paid their fee, less than $400.00 I thought I might have to put my dog to sleep if I could not get him the relief he needed. He stopped eating and I stopped eating because this was such a big problem for us both. After Buddy's successful operation, I recommended HospiVet on Nextdoor many times.

My girlfriend translated for me, and I was told that when I brought him back to have the pins removed, I would only need to pay for anesthesia and medication. Since I had already prepaid in full, they even noted this on the discharge paperwork. Unfortunately, I threw the paperwork away before the appointment. When I returned, I was charged about $200 and told there were no notes indicating the pin removal was covered. A different doctor performed the procedure, which may have contributed to the charge. I expected to pay for anesthesia and medication, but not the additional fee. I paid it, and lesson learned: keep your paperwork. Aside from this issue, the staff were caring, professional, and provided excellent care for my cat. It seemed like a communication issue, but overall I had a positive experience. This will not prevent me from returning in the future.- but I will keep your paperwork!

Yelled at and kicked out without care or referral--If you have a choice, go somewhere else... This…read morevet is a secret monster if you trigger it and it is SCARY! I brought my dog in for foxtails yesterday and had a nightmare experience where the vet angrily raised his voice at me while we were alone in a room (I am a young girl and his is a quite large older man) and kicked us out. I was scared for my safety. After shaming my dog's weight (exclaiming "40 pounds!!?" in a judgmental tone, even after losing 4 since the last visit), Dr. Flores brought my dog and me into the examination room. He had me place him on the table, where he muzzled him and, with a tool in my dog's ear and my dog whimpering, kept speaking to me in a raised tone about how it "wasn't my fault" that the foxtails were present in both ears and continually explaining how it was "nature's fault." He even had me come very close to him to look in my dog's ear through a small tool he was holding, placing me in an uncomfortable situation where I was practically being hugged by the vet's body. When I told my mom about how the vet had me stay in the room during the examination and interacted with me in this way, she said it sounded unusual and unprofessional. I pleaded with him to stop talking to me in such a loud tone while he was so close to my dog's ear and to please go back to caring for him so we didn't prolong my dog's discomfort. "Please stop speaking so loudly while you are so close to my dog's ear! You are hurting him." In this moment, Dr. Flores got extremely upset with me for asking him to "shut up," words I never used. He sent the vet assistant out of the room and proceeded to yell at me about how I should never speak to a veterinarian that way. I could not get a word in as he continually asked, "Why do you think you could tell a veterinarian to shut up??" interrupting me with the same question any time I tried to explain. My dog was in so much distress and pain, and I was scared for my safety. He yelled that he would not care for my dog and sent us out, telling me he would need to be put under and that he had foxtails "near his ear drums" in both ears, but refusing any further care. I left in a panic, the other three people who work there (two women and a man) saying there was nothing more that could be done and that Dr. Flores' word was final. No care, no referral... I felt disregarded and disrespected by everyone there. The vet claims I was not yelled at, but I was alone in that exam room and only Dr. Flores and I know what happened... although Dr. Flores appeared to be blinded by rage in that moment. Unprofessional, to say the least. I ended up driving down to Poway's urgent pet care and paying a bunch of money to be told he didn't even have foxtails in either ear... Just infections. I was sent home with anti inflammatory meds & and ointment. Not only was he awful to me, his diagnosis was inaccurate. If you have a choice, just go somewhere else
