I used them years ago. Dropped off my dented trucked to see if passenger door fixed to open from outside and change outside mirror. Required $150.00 down payment. Got a call said to fixed dooe another $650.00. I declined and just had the mirror I bought changed. So $150 just to change mirror? Very expensive labor. read more

Bracken did a great job. I am not one to hold anyone's service any higher than the service I can give. Even though a relatively easy repair, I went into this with realistic expectations that it would take a few weeks by the time insurance got involved. I stopped by about a week earlier to discuss repairs and to get on a schedule. Once insurance set a date to inspect, I coordinated with Bracken to do my best to minimize the downtown and they took it from there. Bracken was very accomodating, good customer service, the app helps keep you up to date. Had a minor rear ender on a new 2024 Silverado 2500 HD which required a new bumper, brackets, hitch, and some patch and paint underneath the rear taillight. Looks new again and cannot tell anything happened. read more

Terrible experience. I took my car in on 11/07/22, and they still have my car. I was told by Molly on 11/15/22, my car would be ready on 11/18/22; however, Molly called a few minutes ago and said the car would be ready on Monday, 11/21/22. When you tell somebody your vehicle will be ready on a particular day, then the vehicle should be ready, or your word is meaningless. This is an on going nightmare. read more

Their staff stole the coins and some changes I left in my car!! I complained it but the owner refused to pick up the phone or do anything. I had to call the police but it took an hour for them to come. Also it took them a week and costs nearly $1000 to do the simple paint job. I didn't have to pay for that because the other party's insurance covered it. But it just showed how dishonest they are. [UPDATE] The owner responded to one of my reviews but he was full of lies. He claimed that he called me "5 times the next morning". No I have never received any calls from him. And he tried to play some little game with me by saying "I had planned on giving you the few buck but it seems that has changed". No I don't want your "few buck" dude. I will also have GEICO to investigate their business practice since they charged the insurer a lot of random items that didn't need a repair. read more

Terrible experience. 1) Bracken took a full month to repair a damaged drivers door. 2) My insurance company stopped covering the car rental after 2 weeks, since Bracken took so long and didn't file for extensions, so I am out $300. If Bracken had communicated the need for an extension to my insurance company, they would have covered the rental. 3) The very next day after I picked it up from Bracken, a part fell off of my car on the highway. They refuse to fix it and say it must have been like that. It just happens to be a coincidence that it fell off right after I picked my car up. They claim they did not touch that part. This is untrue. 4) During the entire month, I never received a single phone call updating me on my cars status. I always had to be the one to call, always being told the car was nearly done. Even on the day it was ready, I again had to be the one to call. 5) Every bad review this company gets, they respond by accusing the customer of trying to "extort" money from them, rather than trying to address the issues. I never asked them for money. It is clear this is a very poorly run repair shop. Save yourself the expense, hassle, and frustration, and go with one of the bigger, better-managed repair shops. read more

Referred by GEICO, this business has deceptive practices and workmanship. Bracken estimated my vehicle without me present. Bracken did not give me a receipt for my deductible cash payment (they consider scribbling on the estimate a receipt). I noticed that Bracken charged GEICO for some NEW parts and reused my vehicle's USED parts! RECHECK YOUR ESTIMATE, MAKE SURE WHAT THEY CHARGE YOU IS WHAT YOU GET. Bracken does not pay attention to detail when repairing your vehicle, they overlook obvious damages and try to remedy their mistake with a quick, "We'll buff it out....". Bracken does not perform a walk around after your vehicle's work is completed. And whatever you do, DO NOT BOTHER THEIR LUNCH HOUR, OR CALL BEFORE OR AFTER THEIR BUSINESS HOURS. You will NOT get service before 8am or after 5pm. read more

I know the sign says collision, or body shop, or whatever, but I gave them a call about an unrelated automotive project I simply couldn't do myself at home to see if they'd be willing to help. This is after I called two other places in San Antonio, a locally owned shop which bluntly refused the work, and a national chain that spent more time looking up my car on a computer system than talking to me about the work I was asking for. Bracken quoted me a VERY fair price (about 85% less than that national chain, for labor alone). I figured I'd be waiting in store for an hour or two. Great place! Dropped by to get our bumper repaired. Staff was great at assessing the damage and giving us a range of estimates (from pull the bumper off, reshape and sand, repaint- more expensive, to re-attach, bit of a paint job- cheap), which we appreciated. We went with the cheap option and they did a fantastic job, even touched up a few scrapes on other parts of the car. Extremely affordable, professional, and very nice group of people. We'll be back as needed. Also, their office cat is pretty much the sweetest thing ever. They do have a partnership with Enterprise so can have a rental car dropped off for you if needed as well. read more

Disappointed with the repair and service. Several visits required to get things finalized -- finish coat discolored, missing parts, and electrical not connected. Eventually had them ship me the missing part after multiple reminder calls to complete. They don't call back and had to involve the insurance agency to get things finally resolved. Used Geico express and it was not a fast or easy repair. read more

Don't go there. The worst place to get your car "fixed". You will be absolutely sorry. Your car will return late, and completely "patched up" not to mention dirty. Paint job didn't match, they hire students to work. Nobody there was professional. The inside will be dirty as they touch everything with super dirty/greasy hands. They do not care for your property whatsoever. When I asked the owner why it was so dirty inside, he told me with an attitude that I can clean it. Ugh!!! read more

So far so Good! We are 1000 miles from home and we hit a huge deer in our RV. Bracken came up in a search so we called them and got an immediate answer to all questions from a knowledgeable and decisive individual. This is very important when your vehicle is inoperable and you have to decide where to have it towed. Bracken also helped us arrange for a rental car and got our RV secured in their lot same day. After finding Bracken several hours later we are on our way again. Bracken went over the details of the repair and addressed all my concerns right on the spot. Repair time estimate is 1/2 that of other shops that we contacted. I'll repost when we pick it up but as of now I would recommend calling Bracken and getting your problem handled. read more

This shop is super slow and not focused on the details. The insurance estimate was 7 days (first estimate) for the repairs to be completed. It took them over 4 weeks to complete the repairs. It was like pulling teeth to get a completion time from them. Then when I got a date it was pushed back to the following Wednesday, then a possible Friday. When confronted about the time frame, their reply was " 7 DAYS IS NOT REALLY 7 DAYS, ITS BASED OFF HOURS." so my reply to Molly was so if yo only work on it for 1 hour a day it could take months? She gave me a silent nod that I'm correct. Then finally after a month in their shop with excuses like "well we are missing a bushing." so that's a couple more days. Its a 2015 F-150 (the most common truck in Texas. SO.....They finally gave me my truck on a Friday (of course end of the day). They killed the battery (probably by not disconnecting the battery during the month). They had an excuse for everything. They said my alarm was draining the battery. Yea, but if you would have disconnected the battery there is no draining taking place. Electrical 101 school teaches that! come on... The aftermarket fender they put on was misaligned and missing the hood bumper. Missing wire cable ties under fender. The aftermarket headlight they put on was pointing to the ground about 8' in front of the truck (misaligned) I took it somewhere else to get that fixed in minutes, Bracken would have taking another week to do that.. I took it back the following Monday to complain about all the items that needed attention and they took a whole week to fix those minor items and of course they billed it all to insurance. I could have done those minor items in less than a day. Don't be deceived by all the Gieco express plaques everywhere they are not Gieco express. They have to wait day(s) to get the adjuster out there to look it over before they start. Very Disappointed in the Service, Service time, attention to details and that there was no rush to get my truck back to me once they gave it to me with all these problems. My car was recently rear ended at a stop sign and the repairs were covered through GEICO. they recommended bracken and everything went beyond my expectations. I will admit I was hesitant to keep my appointment after reading some of the negative reviews but they seemed balanced by the positive and GEICO backed it up with a lifetime warranty so I figured I'd give it a shot. It was mostly cosmetic repair, hard to screw that up. Your experience may differ if using a different insurance. Geico has an adjuster on the property as part of their express repair program. I got an appointment the same week of my claim. When I arrived the enterprise car of the same passenger capacity was waiting for me, also covered by the claim. Todd from bracken met me and went over all the details and said it would probably be completed by closing the next day. Well it wasn't. It was ready the next morning, 8 hours earlier than I expected! Not only was the bumper like new, but they had washed and waxed my car. It was pretty dirty when I brought it in and the chrome was spotless. I did not expect that. Paint looks perfect, matches original and bumper fit is correct. I dropped the rental off and was back on the road like nothing ever happened. I will very likely bring future paint work to them. Hopefully this will help if you are on the fence like I was. read more

Stay Away! A once well-rated company (Angie's List) has fallen hard. Lied to me more times than I can count as to when my car would be ready. 5 1/2 weeks in their shop! Their repair left several new problems with the car (returned 12 hrs after picking it up). And they obviously were no qualified to work on BMW, as they has to call in more than 1 outside "specialist" to repair it. read more

You know when a places customer service just blows everyone out of the water? Well that's what I thought I had when I went to Bracken referred to by Geico. The guy said something like "we guarantee our work and would go out of our way for a customer". My brand new 2016 Maxima was involved in a hit and run and I took it in with a popped off bumper and minor scratches. When I got it i noticed the bumper wasn't as flush as it should be and within an hour they had it back to good! Awesomeness! So 3 months later I notice the bumper was loose again so I call them and speak to Molly. She looks at my report and said they did 1 hour of paint and the bracket is $7. I'm like "so idc how much it is it was loose bc of the accident, I mean my bumper was literally falling off when I took it to you". Well Molly tells me "we didn't replace the brackets therefore they aren't covered besides the guy who fixed it doesn't even work here anymore. It could be wear and tear, they are plastic clips." ...on a car with less than 15k miles that had previous damage on that side that you "fixed"???? And what do I care where the guy works now, I didn't deal with him I dealt with Bracken. Are you following along ? "It's SEVEN whole dollars make it right." She said "exactly it's $7 just pay for it" I'm calling a Geico in the morning to see how they can help but I should have gone with my instinct and taken the car to Gunn collision center in the first place! read more

It started with a estimate of 2 weeks and better pricing than the other big shops in San Antonio. I dropped my car off on 30 June. At the end of week 3, I was beginning to question my decision, but I know things happen in business, so I waited. At week 4, I was finally told they were experiencing equipment failure that had not been repaired for at least two weeks. I had to press for this information. Finally at the end of week 5, they said my car should be ready. I was all set to pick it up but they had forgotten to paint the mirrors and door handles. I ended up waiting until the following Monday. I had requested twice about possible compensation for them having my car so long. Once I was told a flat "no", I requested one last time and the second time they dodged the question. As I was doing my walk around checking out the paint, I noticed the grill of my car had not been painted. It still had the peeling clear coat. So, I let them take the grill since that didn't keep me from driving the car and I was able to pick it up the next day. The new paint job will do but no compensation for having my car for three weeks longer than promised has left a bad impression on this customer. I now have a life time warranty on a paint job with a company I'm not sure I want to deal with again. If this was a fluke, then why not take care of the one customer. I had read a few good things about Bracken Collision but not sure why they get an A+ rating through the BBB. Update: 10 August, Just realized this past Saturday they forgot put the model letters back on my trunk lid. I had specifically asked them not to rush when putting my car back together, so they didn't forget things. read more

I would not recommend going to Bracken Collision. I took my 2014 Lincoln MKX to have some minor damage repair. I was lied to by the shop manager after having my vehicle 2 weeks, that they hadn't started on the vehicle because they were waiting for my insurance to get approval for an increase in the estimate. My insurance hadn't even been contacted. Then when it was finished the vinyl trim on the bottom was in the estimate to be replaced but was blackened instead. I was told by Molly in the shop that the repairs weren't done correctly because they were very busy due to all the hail damage repairs. So if you happen to choose them, make sure they are not busy so your vehicle will get done right. read more

It's long, but if you just want the summary of my experience - look at the end. My Altima suffered hail damage during the hail storm on April 12, 2016. I was lucky and was able to get an appointment at a body shop. Even though it was across town from me I decided to use their shop. I took my car to their shop on April 22, 2016 and left it for repair. It took a week or so for the insurance company to issue the estimate with the supplemental repairs that were submitted by Bracken. I expected that. No problem. After weeks of very POOR communication - only communication I got was when I was able to call them and check up on the status, and even then I always got the same basic answer: It's "in line" or that there are "a lot of cars" waiting, etc. - I was finally able to pick up my car on June 20, 2016. The rear window tint was not done (the insurance covered it, it should have been done by the shop) when I came to pick it up. I was told they weren't able to get their "glass guy" there to do the work. I agreed to get the tinting done on my own after the service advisor assured me that I could get it done for the $45 the insurance had allotted me for it. I questioned being able to get it done that cheap, but he assured me it wouldn't be a problem. On July 8, 2016 we called the shop to ask about some wires we noticed hanging out of the back window that had not been connected. They said that they were not hooked up because the glass guy would have done that when the tint was done. That there was no point in connecting them - he would just have to unhook them to put on the tint. Not knowing any better, I said okay. We also asked them about the (approximately) 12 inch strip of paint on the trunk lid that was not repaired. We were told that they had noticed that but not until after the estimate was done on the car. They said that the insurance wouldn't cover it. In fact, I was told they had talked to the insurance and that is why they knew it wouldn't be covered. When I had picked up the car on June 20, I was told they would give me their glass guy's number and I could set up the tint appointment with him. They never gave me the number. I had to call them and get it. He did not want to do the job for $45. He said that price was really low, but that since I was referred to him by the shop he would do it. He was not happy about it, but I was able to talk him into it. When he came to do the tint on July 11, 2016, we asked him about the wires hanging out of the window thinking he would be connecting them since that is what the shop told us. He had no idea what they were and told us we would have to get with the body shop. He wasn't sure why they told us that he should hook them up. So, the next day, July 12, 2016, my husband took the car back to the body shop to ask about getting the wires installed like they should have been. He also asked about the trunk lid repair and why it wasn't done. Again, he was told that the insurance wouldn't cover it. I called the insurance company and asked them why the repair was not covered. They said that my call was the first time they had heard about the trunk lid damage and that the shop would have to call them to schedule a follow up appraisal for the official answer. So, a couple days later on July 14, 2016, we took the car back to the shop and left it so the insurance could come do the appraisal. Long story short, they approved the repair. Had the shop called the insurance company while they had the car there the first time, this could have already been taken care of. But, whatever. Moving on. Today, Aug 16, 2016, I called the shop to check on the status of this repair and see when my car would be ready. I was told that someone had called me early last week and "left a voicemail" for me. I never had a voicemail from them. Neither did my husband. And, I don't get many voicemails so I would have noticed. I'm not sure who they called, but it wasn't us. And, the man that I spoke to today didn't seem to care that I didn't know my car had been ready for a week. Kind of made me feel like he thought it was my problem that I didn't know. I NEVER heard from the shop at ALL while my car was there. The only information I received was when I called them. With the exception of when it was ready in June...they did call me then when it was done. In summary: Overall it was a horrible experience. I will never use this shop again nor will I recommend it to anyone. They took their sweet time doing the work and when I got the car back, it wasn't even complete. I had to get the tint done. I had to ask them to call the insurance to complete the repair on the trunk lid. And, VERY poor communication. I never knew the status of my car. If it hadn't been for my insurance company posting my approved estimates on my online account then I wouldn't have even known the repairs were approved for the trunk. read more
