Oh man, I don't know if I caught them on an "off" day as all these other reviews seem pretty good! I ordered the Hana Highway & my other half got a caramel macchiato. I was excited for the Hana Highway as it had all the things I live for--macnut, coconut & mocha. It was not love at first sip. Something was not right-- it tasted very bitter and too milky, like burnt chocolate milk (if you can imagine that lol). I knew I should have drove up the road to my usual coffee spot when I'm in town. I tried this place out of convenience because we were eating here. We were both dissatisfied with our gross coffees and didn't even want to finish them. It was pretty much a waste of money. At $10 a cup, I definitely expected better. The girl working was very sweet though, so kudos on customer service!

Amazing coffee, chai tea, and chocolate chip macadamia banana bread! 100 percent would recommend!

The woman working here was so nice and had an infectious positive attitude. We bought a delicious coconut macnut latte that I 100% recommend. We also got the DELICIOUS lemon & lavender scones. Da Mean Bean is a must-stop spot in Hana.

The absolute BEST coffee in Maui! My wife and I LOVE Da Mean Bean. The owner Keala is truly the embodiment of aloha, and serves every drink with a smile. Amazing coffee (or kōpe)! Super smooth, 100% Maui coffee. I got the Kūla Lavender latte with oat milk and it was perfectly, slightly sweet with a lovely lavender flavor (made with Kula lavender and honey). I ended up getting 2 in one day! Husband got straight coffee with milk and it was delicious. Coffee was not bitter at all and left no nasty "after coffee" taste on the palate. Kaela was absolutely delightful also!!! When in Hana, you need to stop by here for coffee! The location is right where all the other food trucks were. We came on a rainy day at 6:30am and was greeted by the friendliest smile and an umbrella to borrow while we waiting for our coffee. We even got some banana bread with our coffee and it was the best breakfast! I got the macnut coconut coffee with an extra shot and it was DELICIOUS! read more

I have been on my Honeymoon in Hawaii for 2 weeks now (Oahu for a week and Maui) and this was quite honestly my favorite coffee and breakfast spot. The coffee is Maui grown so full of flavors of Hawaii and then she offers amazing flavors to add in! Way mo'bettah than Starbucks. Breakfast! She offers 2 different breakfast sandwiches. The McMuffin had bacon, ham egg and cheese and truly I could eat it every day. I don't know how to explain it but the muffin part was so soft but toasted perfectly. I enjoyed it so much I forgot to take a pic, but don't worry I will be there tomorrow and will get it when to take a pic! Okay now let's talk about Keala! Her energy is so contagious and positive and reflects "good vibes only" just like her sign. Instantly I wanted to be her best friend and hang out here all day. She apologized to us about charging us lol like no! You provided the best coffee, best food and best experience. I highly recommend getting your coffee here while in Hana Town. Opens at 6:30 am. The lady is very nice. I wish i got her name. But she said she lived in Hana all her life so i like supporting local businesses. Coffee and bread was so good. Very accommodating and will give you tips while staying in Hana!!! Highly recommend this coffee stand. The lady working here (maybe the owner?) was lovely and made us some great drinks--she didn't even turn the credit card processing tablet over to me at the end--I had to ask her to give it to me so I could tip her--she didn't want me to! I loved the Hana Highway drink, best coffee I had in Hana. They weren't open on Sunday or else I would've gotten another one! Like with everything in Hana, you'll want to check hours on Yelp (and with tourism being so low right now, there's still not a guarantee that things will be open). read more

Highly recommend this nice little coffee stand in the heart of Hāna town that is open early! The Owner, Keala, is one the sweetest persons I've ever met! She didn't know this but caramel macchiato is my favorite coffee drink if I ever do get any kind of milk, cream or sugar in my coffee and that's what she recommended. The caramel macchiato was so ono! She also has a variety of goodies and food to choose from. Go support local and check out her coffee stand. We stopped over intending to get some caffeine in for a long day ahead, but were pleasantly surprised that a simple iced latte was so good. The owner was quite patient and helpful with the order. There are other foodstands in the same area so a decent stop for folks to get food/snack/drinks. read more

Keala and her adorable food truck was the highlight of our morning. Her spirit, energy and yummy coffee was the best! We shared her croissant sandwich and yum! You could feel the love she put into it and all she does! We also tried her coconut pineapple bread and it was so good!!! Definitely add this to your Hana trip! Rarely do I feel I get coffee made with so much love and I started my day with a smile of my face due to her friendliness!! And it's all coffee grown in Maui so yay for local! read more

History

Established in 2023.

A family-built lil orange coffee trailer located in the heart of Hana, Maui. Probably the smallest coffee trailer on the island but most definitely the most charming and brightest coffee trailer you’ll ever see. One of the only places you’ll find fresh Maui espresso and, sixty miles away from the nearest Starbucks on Maui, Da Mean Bean. Built in 2022 and opened in June of 2023. Currently brewing and serving 100% Maui Coffee and Espresso through our window for nine months. We source our coffee locally from Maui Coffee Roaster’s. Delish and aromatic blends of Maui, Hawai’i.

Respected the land.* Our first stop for some fuel after a nice hike on the Pipiwai Trail. ⁣ I don't think this local family owned biz gets enough love and attention it deserves! Everything comes straight from their farm! The owner, such a charismatic man. It was nice chatting with him a little about the trees, the kind of fruits he has growing, and how he knew we were Filipinxs cos of "the way we take pictures" lol Filipinxs looove their pics⁣. You probably won't have any service while on the Road To Hana, so just be on a lookout. You'll see their sign! ⁣ This coconut is straight from his tree!!!! If you haven't seen my Maui story, you'll see him cutting it down from his tree! Super cool tbh⁣ ⁣The coconut was sooo fresh!!! He then cut it in the middle for the boo and I to eat the coconut meat. Yum!⁣ ⁣ Not pictured is the GUAVA BANANA BREAD; which I didn't really taste the guava but the bread was moist and flavorful! Tasted the banana part of it though. Parking is very, very limited. They have a small lot that can probably fit 3 to 4 cars easily. They have tables and benches for you to just sit, relax and enjoy. They offer other goodies, too! I also like how they allow visitors to sign their farm stand. With the amount of names written around, it's hard to believe there's very little reviews here on Yelp! So I hope this review reaches someone to spread the word about Hana Cultural Farmstand! ⁣ Pricing is reasonable. The coconut was $10, better pricing here compared to other farm stands we checked out during our trip. The bread was, I believe, so,where between $6-$8 which is affordable because if you started early like we did, you're going to need some fuel during your trip. A lot of eats along The Road To Hana weren't open around 7-9 AM, so I'm glad this place was. ⁣Until next time! Mahalo for the Aloha! ⁣

It's a good store to visit. It has a bunch of things to buy as a groceries and also has great…read moreoptions for some plate food typically in that side of the town if you reach there and you're gonna be driving back, this is a great store to stop by and buy some local Food. Fill up gas. There are cold cut sandwiches too however, just right next to that store. There are a bunch of food trucks that you can try, which is amazing.. I love the service of this place in general because it's in the little town and everybody over. There are friendly know everybody has drove a couple of hours to get there and they're gonna drive back again. It's a chill and cool vibe atmosphere and ambience there.

After checking the other food trucks, about 4 or 5, that share the lot with Da Fish Shack, I walked back to this one because I love fish and wanted to try the seared fish (ahi) plate on the menu, and also because of the friendly and warm aloha welcome I received when I approached this food truck the first time and asked questions about their menu which was answered unhurriedly and politely. The grilled ahi was very good - well seasoned, tender and a good portion, without the $$$$ price tag of restaurants in the town of Hana. I also enjoyed the homemade chili and pineapple sauce, and vegetable that came with my ahi. The owner also gave me a nice size sample of poke which was really fresh and delicious too! We ate at a covered picnic table which is clean and provided shade from the sun. I should mention it is an outdoor seating so keep your food covered to keep flies off your plate. A minor nuisance. Also, if you need a bathroom break, there are public restrooms in the beach located 15 minutes from this food trucks stop. Make this your stop after the Hana heavy drive and help support small local businesses! It is a good thing!

Another member of my party ordered the Thin Noodles and another ordered the Coconut Combo Plate. We received our order rather quickly and ate at the picnic tables provided. Honestly, I really didn't know what to expect with the Papaya Salad. It is definitely a meal in itself. I probably won't order that again. There were so many compliments over the noodles, and from someone who hasn't ventured beyond traditional American food, that is impressive! Also, the Coconut Combo Plate was a hit for both those sharing it. They said both the Mahi and Shrimp were VERY good! And who doesn't like to eat out in nature and enjoy the 'wildlife'. We had kittens for entertainment!

Located conveniently in a bustling food truck lot, Da Mean Bean opens early, perfect for those planning a leisurely breakfast before venturing out to explore Hana town.
