Walked in on Thursday night and couldn't sit outside due to lack of reservations! Anyway, inside was comfortable and service quick and friendly. Drinks and food were also good. Salads fresh, chicken and fish were flavorful and not overcooked, pasta sauce rich and creamy. Prices, though, are very steep. I get that the place is remote, but $19 for a Ceasar salad with no protein? $25 for a hamburger? This is a nice place, but we're not talking about hand ground Wagyu or Michelin stars. World class, beautiful view, wonderful service and phenomenal food. If you're looking for a top notch restaurant that comes with the breathtaking ocean view, here it is. I was surprised when we came in to a mostly restaurant and we were asked if we had reservations. I can understand more now why they might need to go by reservations. Firstly their service is ultra professional, awesome friendliness and hospitality. They had such a great demeanor, I loved that so much. The view is one of the best I'd ever seen and to dine here during sunset was wonderful and so worthwhile. Just wow. And the whole ambience is so free flowing and calm. Now the food. OH MY GOODNESS IT IS GOOD. I had a pasta that felt like a delicate and expertly crafted pasta primavera. We thoroughly enjoyed our entrees. They're also kid friendly and have a kids menu, including crayons to color with and high chairs available. As a parent this is so crucial. Food was nasty and the services was worse. Got a fish burger disgusting and overpriced. Then the services was worst was barely getting check on. Asked for beer which took 10 mins to get. Then asked for to-go box which never came. Overall it's a tourist trap. I suggest stopping at the local food trucks nearby. read more

Wings were too spicy, plus we couldn't get extra napkins or a water refill. Bathroom was about as clean as a porta-john or public restroom on the side of the road. Great spot in Hana!! I'd come again for the food and view! Very friendly staff. Parking right outside. Get the burger and beer! I enjoyed it. Sat outside and the view to the ocean is just serene. The only reason I'm not giving it one star is because the food wasn't horrible. Service was bad and there was only 1 other table when we arrived. We had an instance when the waitress checked on 1 of the 3 tables outside and we needed refills. When we did get a water refill, the water wasn't picked up and she tried to pour it and it splashed all over the place, which is whatever, it's just water, but still...? Fish sandwich was dry as hell. I have no clue how my husband ate that. They also brought out the wrong dishes first (again there was only 2 tables including us when we arrived). They had to take the food back and then brought our correct food out. At that time now all 3 tables (outside) had received food at same time. I'm usually one to be optimistic about negative reviews and go anyway. We tried a 3.0 star restaurant in Honolulu that was exceptionally amazing and we were happy to provide that review before even leaving the restaurant. Unfortunately, this restaurant is not it. The Teriyaki Chicken, Finadene Alfredo (yes you heard right, if you want to add protein to your pasta, the only chicken option is Teriyaki, I was hesitant at first, but the server said it was good, so I went with her recommendation, and I'm glad I did!) was scrumptious! This is the type of restaurant that benefits from being one of the few options in the area. If there were more, there would be no reason to come here. Upon arrival, we were asked if we had a reservation (we didn't). Then we were asked if we were staying on the property (we were not). The host processed to skip over us and went to the next person in line. Only after finding the group behind us was in the same boat did they bother to seat us despite having ample availability. After being seated, it took a long time for our order to be taken. It took even longer for the appetizer to come out. In the meantime, might as well use the restroom... except there are no public restrooms available. On top of this, they ended up bringing out the wrong item once the entree came out and later brought out the wrong check as well. Unbelievable--amateur hour. As a plus, the food was ok. That earns one star back--any port in a storm I guess. But that's about it. Slow service, rude service, and mediocre food. Don't waste your time--literally any of the few other places in Hana is a better use of your time. read more

We have been to Hana several times before and this used to have a great food until Hyatt took it over. This restaurant is bordering on disaster. We ordered calamari for $25 and it was like eating a rubber inner tube. A hamburger was $28 and was overcooked as well. The mahi fish dish was actually tasty for only $49. It was accompanied by mashed potatoes that were lukewarm to cold. A glass of beer is $10 on tap. A glass of a riesling is $12. Prices are too high, service is mediocre, food is borderline terrible. Go to one of the food trucks in the area. This used to be a gourmet experience but now it's become a subpar sports bar. read more

Hana Ranch Restaurant is really the only sit down spot in Hana and the lack of competition is likely the only reason it still exists. While it's certain that people here work very hard to prepare food and serve it, mainly for guests of Hana Maui Resort, there are simply not enough employees here. The result is a constant backlog, waiting incredibly long times to get food and staff running around in a state of frenzy. Thus, while sympathetic to the people who are working here, the current model of the restaurant is not sustainable and Hana Maui resort needs to establish their own dinner restaurant, in which scenario both establishments would benefit. When it comes to the food, it's edible, but that's about it. The local grass fed steak was not cooked properly for being a a grass fed cut, thus resulting in a very tough almost inedible piece of expensive meat. The burger was decent, but not great, meat tasted almost synthetic in it. Some decently priced wines, with a great find of Giant Steps from Australia. Out of respect the hardworking people here and knowing it's a small local business, giving the restaurant less than three stars does not feel right, but things do need to change drastically here. It's not enjoyable for anyone in the current state, neither the guests nor the overworked staff. read more

We were in Hana for two days. Got to our resort in time for dinner and came here. Katz was our server and she was fantastic and pretty. I had the fish of the day, which was pasta with fish, shrimp and calamari in a tomato based sauce. Two pieces of garlic toast. 10/10. Plenty of sauce, penne, perfectly cooked fish. Loved it. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous! But as for their only dinner Resturant option, it really leaves a negative impact, the food is under seasoned and too pricy for its worth. Our waiter seems so annoyed every time we ask for anything ( drink menu, hot sauce, share plates, salt) for a 50 dollar plate of over cooked unseasoned fish... and the music was so unsettling.. we're in a high end resort .. I didn't felt like the ambiance, food and service is up to part. I would bring my own food and drinks and enjoy it in our room if we ever make it back again. read more

This was the freshest meal I have had in a long time! All ingredients were fresh and amazing. They put a special sauce on the burger that made it that much better! When in Hana, it's a staple to stop by Hana Ranch Restaurant. They pride themselves in using locally grown products from Hana town and the farming community. Hana is a special place and it's an adventure to get there. If you want to reward yourself after the drive, Hana Ranch Restaurant is the place to stop at. The ambiance at Hana Ranch is very welcoming. The staff is amazing and always has a smile on their face, ready to help and talk story. As for the food, it was delightful. My friend and I shared the ono special and shrimp penne pasta. It was such a treat after a long day of adventuring in Hana. The ono special was soft and tender, it was complemented with brussel sprouts and sweet potato mash. As for the shrimp penne pasta, it was flavorful and very aromatic. The shrimp was cooked to perfection and tied the dish together. Overall it was a lovely experience at Hana Ranch Restaurant and I will definitely come again when I'm in town. read more

Service was lackadaisical, cocktails awful, and food on par with a small town baseball field...all with the bonus of everything being 3 times more than you'd pay for it literally anywhere else and twice even for the local area. This was apparently "connected" to our resort while we were here and the food trucks were about to close. First bad food we'd had in Maui after over a week! I appreciate it's a ways out here, but being somewhere that has a guaranteed flow of guests from the hotel, they could do more to be a decent place after a long drive. read more

Upfront, this restaurant deserves 2 stars because it's one of the only few sit down restaurants in the small town of Hana. I ordered the Hana Burger and it was alright. I didn't enjoy it too much because I asked for it to be medium cooked and it was served on the more charred side. The fries and coke were the best things of my experience here lol. Also, our server was very blasé and had a standoffish vibe. She even forgot our orders before she left our table, asking us to repeat what we told her smh. On a future visit if I ever venture on the Road to Hana a second time, I will for sure try something else from their menu, just not any of their burgers. read more
