Meh. Used to be great but has really taken a turn for the worse. I went with a friend and our food came out wrong and the waitress disappeared, we wanted to order another beverage but were unable to because she disappeared. We paid out bill then went to the rest room, on our way out the waitress was frantically telling the hostess tgat we left without paying. I had to go back to the table and grab the signed credit card receipt to prove to her I did pay. Went back with my husband, food was wrong and cold. read more

Stopped in early on a Saturday afternoon for a quick lunch with my daughter. It says "bar and grill" but it seemed fine for kids, definitely more of a restaurant vibe than a bar vibe. I didn't catch the bartenders name (he was the only one on duty I think) but he was nice. The food was surprisingly good. I got wings and Greens & Beans ( I know odd combo but it's what sounded good to me). Daughter got Calamari and fries. The wings were good, crispy and the sauce was buttery and hot. I think the blue cheese was house made, tasty. Greens & beans were fantastic. Creamy cannellini beans, sausage and the greens were charred just a little I think, gave them a great flavor. Lots of broth in the bowl to sop up with some bread. Daughter's fries were the big steak fry variety, and she said the calamari were delicious. Would definitely come back. read more

Reservation at 7:15pm. Empty tables but wouldn't seat us. At 7:30pm we were told that they were setting the table. Now it's 7:45pm and they sat another group ahead of us who had reservations at 7:30pm. Almost 8:00pm and continued to ignore us. While waiting up front, watched the hostess repeatedly cut and plate desserts using bare hands with no gloves. This is all right next to cash register where she also handles cash, credit cards. Disgusting! Left and went elsewhere! Never going back. read more

Baked potatoes are ready at 4 pm. I waited nursing 2 beers for over an hour while watching golf. Nice to see palm trees in this lousy snow. So, right at 4 pm all tvs went to thw bills game. I saked if they could put one tv back to golf, they said NO, bills fans were coming in. So i left. The bills lost by 3,lol. The day before I had their Fairfield plate. The dish was so cold it all the food was cold in a few minutes. Their wings are good. read more

We had to wait OVER an hour to get our foods when it wasn't even that full . The Alfredo pasta wasn't even good. the broccoli had no flavor and was soggy, the chicken was flavorless, the sauce was so bad don't even get me started. Our waitress only seemed to really care once we had paid. usually, it's okay, but i would've really preferred to eat at McDonalds compared to this. The bread with butter was better. Let me start by saying the service was good/mediocre. My rating is just based on the food. As soon as I walked in the door and was taken back to the back dining area, I could smell old mop water, or just something that wasn't quite right. I ordered a Buffalo chicken wrap with fries and my husband got the breaded fish fry. We both agreed the food was okay. We wouldn't not eat it, but we won't be coming back. My chicken wrap was mostly lettuce, with maybe two strips of chicken shared between the two half's. Maybe. It definitely was not a lot. I also found foil that fell out of it. It was a small piece, but definitely not what I wanted to see on my plate. This place always seems busy. I'm not sure exactly why. Maybe the Italian dinner is better? read more

3 stars may be a bit low but it's probably pretty spot on. I have tried this place a few times and we went tonight for the fish fry. They call it Jaws and it's not tiny but it's not that big. Fish was not seasoned well and did not seem fresh though batter was crispy. We also go soup which was ok, ridiculous to pay $14 for 2 cups of soup but taste wise it was ok. Nothing to make a trip for. Lady up with the Fairfield steak sandwich. It was ok but small and it wasn't bad but it shouldn't be hard to make a Philly Cheese steak pretty delicious right? $16 for a burger or sandwich and another $2 if you want fries...it just isn't good enough for those prices. Service was not bad but slow, our order definitely got lost or something then when we were almost done our waitress tried to deliver another tables food to us ... Oh!!!! The soda barely has any flavor and was so bad too. So yeah . Mixed bag, solid 3 stars. read more

We've been here a few times in the past few months. It had been years since we'd been there before, but we really liked it back then. We have been here at some off times, like 4pm, and we were pretty much the only people there. Even when it's more crowded though, it's very quiet now. They should turn the music up, or add TV's or something. There is very quiet music playing, but it's just not enough. Tables are all spaced out though, and we've feel safe each time. The people working here are very nice, and we've had great waiters each time. The food is just not great though, and it's rather expensive. The last time we were driving home, my husband said everything was OK, but it's just not great, and I thought the exact same thing. My favorite thing is the fried green tomatoes. The sauce that comes with them is also good. They also have fries covered in hot sauce that were really good, even though I don't like hot stuff. They were just the right amount of kick. Between the two of us, we've also had the prime rib, fish fry, artichoke French and the BLT. They were all ok, but just ok. The portions are a good size. We will probably go again, and the location is convenient. read more

Have visited three times over the past year and the food, service, drinks....all of it, have been outstanding! The bread that comes with butter - delicious. Dinner salad with Italian dressing- excellent. Eggplant Parm, broiled fish, chicken/broccoli/Alfredo, clam chowder, all very good and generous portions. Miranda knows how to make a great cocktail...the chef is awesome, and knows many of his customers, often coming out to say hello. Our waitress was so attentive and personable. Don't get me started on the desserts (get the pumpkin cheesecake!) This review is for dinner and will happily return. read more

I have heard good things about Fairfield's fish 'n' chips so I tried them today. I called ahead to order take away because I have heard that there can be a long wait on Fridays and was able to pick it up in 20 minutes. I ordered the "Jaws" which is their 12-14 ounce beer battered fried fish. The fish was 1 and 1/2 fillets and was moist on the inside and crisp on the outside; it came with steak fries (which I personally prefer to traditional french fries), cole slaw that was unremarkable and rather bland in taste, and a small roll with butter that was yummy! The cost was just over $18 and it was a filling meal. Not bad for a Friday fish fry. read more

Ive know of this bar/restaurant for over 20yrs and never stopped. Well today was the day for this place. Walking in it looks really small but a huge dining room. We ventured out during COVID and we're glad to partake of the fine food and diner type hospitality. Our waiter was very nice and just chatty enough to make for a good experience. The dining area was empty, but he knew how just how much to engage. The food was fine. My buffalo chicken wrap had a great sauce - spicy flavor rather than heat. The other meals in our party also received positive reviews, though not raving. The draft list for dining area isn't all that great, but my partner ordered a long island and that was made very well. We are looking forward to returning for a fish fry and having another nearby pub location. read more

Went on a Saturday night with a party of 5 and didn't t have to wait for a table even though the place was packed, think we just had luck of timing honestly. I think if we got there any later we would have had to wait which we would, bc my nephews never agree on a place to eat and they agree on Fairfield's so this is a win! We do like this place but I have to only give 3 to 4 stars. Very clean. All desserts in there display are Made in house. I tried there bread pudding with whisky sauce. It was yummy and they give you a large piece!. I ate what I could but it was lacking something, I like mine with a little more punch and not so dense. I still would recommend getting it! I had a apple Martini but I am spolied with The Bay Streets Martini Bar. The dir k was good and it had a kick so I give them points for that! I would maybe order it again just have to lower my expectaions on taste. I order there pretzel. Looked yummy but it seemed they drenched them in butter the tossed the salt on. Kinda over did the butter. The cheese sauce was ok. Not much flavor. I scrapped off the soggy salt after the first bit sense I felt like I almost broke a tooth lol. The pretzel was not hot at all. This sadened me, I was looking forward to having it nice and hot. Again I am spoiled by another place we have ordered pretzels from, the water front Wine Bar. They have the best pretzels! Mike had a salad and it was ok but I like the salad that comes with a meal to contain lots of different greens and fresh veg. My husband did not complain. I ordered the spinach pizza. I was not impressed from the first bit. It lacked flaver, even with the garlic. In my opinion it needed salt or parm with salt or more garlic. I added pepper flakes and grated cheese with a pinch of my pile of pretzel salt. It was etable. They do get points for the large portion of cheese. But again I am in favor of the Bristo wood fired pizza at another place we frequent. My husband said he did enjoy his cheese ravioli! I dipped my crust in the sauce and it seemed to have a sight sweet after taste that was nice. I seemed to be a little rushed at the end after we were finished with our meal and were finishing up with our drinks. But it is a nice place. Friendly staff. For a Sunday late dinner I can only say thanks for filling our bellys. Closed at 9 pm sharp. I did not like that I had to drink my martini so fast. read more

This is based on their fish fry which is what we went there for. My friend and I were craving for a fish fry. Seemed that many places just had these on Friday, but when there's a craving, you just gotta go on the hunt. Cut to the chase--Wow! Haddock in a perfectly crisp and light beer batter!!! There were two sizes. We got the smaller "minnow" serving. Huge!!! But, it was so delicious that I was kind of glad. Dinner fries were perfectly salted and crisp on the outside. I don't usually like this cut, but I found myself chomping through those, as well. I'm also a coleslaw fanatic--this was not too sweet, not too wet--another winner. I probably should have asked for more tartar sauce, but because I ordered their awesome fried green tomatoes (!!!) that came with a dipping sauce (drooling as I type) there was no need. The waitress was friendly, the place was clean, and the cakes and pies in their case were so tempting, but I was just too stuffed. I need to go back. Haven't eaten any other fish fry in town, but I already know that this has got to be one of the best! Will take photos the next time I visit. Btw, we went there around 1:00 to avoid the lunch crowd. read more

Terrible. Saw the D&C article about one of the best fish fries in Roc. So I ordered take out through Grub Hub. About 25 minutes it, i was informed that my order was being prepared. Then another 30 minutes I got a message telling my that my order was delayed. Then I received a message that it was being prepared again. After another 25 minutes I was messaged that my order was on its way! Hooray!! Nope. Got excited too soon. After about another 25-30 minutes I was told my order was canceled. WHAT!!!!?? I tried calling the restaurant and no answer. The phone kept ringing. This was about 7:30 on a Friday night. I called several times after that and still no answer. I called Saturday when business hours said they were open. Finally after 3 attempts I got ahold of a human being. They apologized and said they would have the owner contact me. It's been going on a week. I'm glad I didn't hold my breath. What makes this worse....... I posted my experience on FB. I had 3 people also share that the same thing has happened to them. It's Monday, the first workday of the week and we don't feel like cooking. What I did feel like was a big juicy mouth watering burger. I asked my family if they felt like going to Fairfield for dinner. We have been there before and our meals have always been good, so we went. Upon arrival we were seated and then waited to be served. It took a while but that's normal there, no big deal. We ordered. My daughter ordered a cheese Pizza, my wife a medium mushroom burger and I ordered just a normal burger. It took a while, maybe they have cows out back that they slaughter to order, maybe their slowness was due to COVID-19, I do love it when restaurants still use that excuse or maybe with only half the restaurant filled it was just to busy for the cooker person. I refuse to call them a chef or any name accredited with cooking meals professionally. My daughter's pizza came out and it looked and she said it tasted real good. My burger was ordered medium but came out rare. My wife's was ordered medium and can't out RAW. I mean her roll was soaked in blood and you could reshape the burger which was cold throughout. The waitress saw them and made us send them back. Yes, that bad that the waitress told us we had to. Seemed like hours and finally they brought them back out to us. Mine was correct but my wife's was Raw again. Purple blood stained the roll and seeped all over her fries. Dracula would have been in his glory, my wife was not. This time we asked for the manager. Waited for the manager and then asked for her again. She finally came over. She had no idea what she was doing. Me told her about my wife's burger and at first she said it was just too red. Ummm yeah, that means rare. Then her excuse was, get ready for this your not going to believe what she said.....she said and I quote "The meat comes in raw and the chefs have to cook it" what???? My eyes crossed and I got an instant headache. She said the meat comes in raw. No kidding. I thought it came in already cooked and they uncooked it to your liking. WOW. Then when asked if she would eat it if she ordered medium she said she orders well done so she wouldn't know. Never apologized for having to send something back twice or eating his of our life. Then we said we just wanted the bill and to leave. She insisted my wife gets something and suggested a pizza which she said was the quickest to cook. My wife asked if they had a chicken and pesto, she said yes. She said the pizza had chicken, pesto and cheese. It took another 20 minutes. We said to the waitress that it took a while and the waitress said pizzas are an item that takes longer to cook. Even though the manager said it was the quickest. We got it to go. Then she ignored us and again never apologized for their blunders. Then when we got home we found out the pizza also had ricotta cheese and artichokes in it. Just because my wife was pissed at this point she called and asked the manager why she didn't tell her there were articles on it and their manager said she should have read the menu. There was no menu, the manager didn't tell anyone about the articles. We will never be going back again. The manager is purely incompetent, they can't cook a simple burger and they don't really care about their customers. read more

Fairfields has good parking. Very good service. Stopped for lunch when we were in Pittsford visiting family and shopping. My wife and her cousin choose pizza. The Margherita with tomatoes and spinach was very good. The sausage pepper & onions pizza was also very good. I had a Calzone with mozzarella, ricotta and chicken. It was also very good. read more

Our first time in this local charmer. I had Beef on a Weck with hand-cut fries. It was so delicious!! Best I've had. The dipping au jus was a perfectly savory compliment to the Kimmelweck roll. The fries were so good -- we each finished allll our real potato fries! My husband had BBQ pulled chicken on twist roll, served with hand-cut fries. Excellent, sweet, tasty sauce. It's not easy for a family of five to decide where to eat sometimes so we thought we would try something close by we hadn't before. We didn't have a reservation but were seated fairly quickly as the restaurant seemed busy on a Saturday night. Our server came over and took our drink order and brought us water. There wasn't enough water to fill all 5 glasses but we thought when she brought our drinks she would notice that and bring us some more. That never happened until we had to ask. The drinks arrived after some time with the most disgusting looking lime in my club soda I have ever seen. We ordered and waited. Our salads came, which left a lot to be desired- the smallest dinner side salad ever. Also, my son ordered a Caesar salad and that didn't come until after we were done with our salads right before the dinners were supposedly on their way. Also who serves a Caesar salad with the dressing on the side?!? My stepdaughter enjoyed her quesadilla, as did my my stepson who enjoyed his bbq chicken sandwich. The pizza my son ordered was about as good as Chuck E Cheese and my fiancé struggled to cut his prime rib. My side of veg was flavorless and tasted like frozen veg that was half heated in a microwave but wasn't hot. It was completely inedible. I ordered the bacon wrapped scallops special with sautéed spinach. It was a decent portion of scallops but they left a very weird mouth feel afterward. The spinach sat in a brothy, oily puddle that made it rather slimy. While the food was mediocre, the service was by far the absolute worst. I watched our server pay attention to the other tables in her section and once they paid, she disappeared and was completely unavailable. I spent over 22 years in this business and am shocked this place is still open! Unfortunately we'll just add Fairfield's to our list of never again... read more

If you like your burgers medium rare, this is the only place in Rochester I've tried that you actually get one! They really ARE medium rare, not some pink, or barely pink, or thoroughly brown! And with the sweet potato fries, it's a tasty meal. I can't say much about other items on the menu, other than the pizza which is also very good, as I almost always get the burger there. The coconut cream pie is also great. If you order any of those at Fairfield's you won't be disappointed! read more

Fairfields is a popular local bar and grill. The draft beer selection is limited but they did have a Southern Tier IPA that we really liked. And $12 for a pitcher was sweeeet! The menu is standard bar fare. My sister recommended the pizza, so I ordered a veggie pizza with meatballs. You had to look hard to find the meatball as it was cut up in tiny cubes. It was okay. Our friends all had burgers which they enjoyed. The after-dinner coffee was served room temperature, but when asked our waitress who was very pleasant brought us fresh brew that was hot. Desserts are a highlight here ... so be prepared! read more
