I do not like writing these as I generally believe Yelp gives a lot of power to people that use it to badmouth places. However, this experience warrants the review. About 3 weeks ago, we visited on a particularly awful Saturday night (only our 2nd trip to Braddock's) - by the manager's own words, it was the worst they've ever had. No glassware, frazzled servers, very very late food. $60+ later, our meal was terrible. The food is decent but hardly worth what we ended up experiencing. To spare you all of the details, after speaking with the GM, I was told he would send me a $100 gift card for my trouble - it is now over 2 weeks later, and I have received nothing. Had a birthday celebration yesterday (on the hottest day of the year ) and got take out. The take out held up it was amazing quality I can't wait to eat at Braddock's!!! I've never done a Yelp review, but I have to now. Both the food and the management here are INCREDIBLE! I ordered my birthday dinner from Braddock's. (Curbside pick up because of the covid pandemic). When we got home, we realized we'd been given the wrong bag of food. Braddock's made it more than right. They told us to keep the incorrect food, personally delivered the correct food (and we don't live close) and threw in complimentary birthday cake. And all of the food was fresh and delicious! For a restaurant to deliver that level of quality food and customer satisfaction on any day is impressive. To do it during a pandemic is next level. Definitely go here! read more

Poor service they never answer the phone for a reservation for two, better off spending your money at other restaurants in Medford

Came here for a family dinner on a Saturday night, our first together since COVID hit. They normally don't reserve their outdoor tables however an exception was made for my family as a member is immunocompromised. There's a covered tent in the back of the restaurant where they put us. The view wasn't great (parking lot), but we were alone out there and felt safe which is what mattered. Service was slow and our bread basket was forgotten for the majority of the evening and after several reminders. It may have been a combination that we were removed from the restaurant (out of sight out of mind), busy night, short staffed? Not sure. Despite that, the food 100% made up for it. We got the XL pretzel for the table and we each got different entrees ranging from the burger to the flank steak. Not a complaint in the crowd. I got the SALT wrap with fries. So tasty and satisfying. The fries are beer battered which are my favorite. It was a sizable portion so I ended up taking half of my sandwich and fries home. I decided to enjoy Easter dinner at Braddock's with the family this year since we hadn't been there for several years. It didn't start off well when we ordered a mojito and a root beer and the server came back to apologize that they were out of root beer and mint for the mojito! Then my granddaughter decided on an item from the menu they gave her, however, when it was time to order, we were told there were only 3 items on the menu that were available. (are you seeing a problem here?) We ordered salads which were good and the pork tenderloin was good as well as the surf and turf and crab cakes. However, they neglected to add the lemon sauce for the crab cakes, the ketchup for the chicken, and the bearnaise sauce and butter sauce for the surf and turf. It wasn't overly busy and I could understand forgetting something, but it was pretty annoying. We were also disappointed they didn't serve any bread with the meal. read more

Bradocks has totally changed in the best way possible. The food is innovative and delicious. They have a great drink list. Typically we eat at the bar. The service is fantastic and the bartender is very knowledgeable about wine pairings with dinner. He does a wonderful job. We have had excellent meals there. The french onion soup is one of the best in the areas. Very rich complex flavors. Great burgers and I highly recommend the meatloaf, their version of a BLT, the brussel sprouts appetizer, and their entrees. I have had the venison when it's available absolutely perfect. My husband had the duck another great dish. It is easy to drop a lot of money or you can do the appetizer route to save some money. Either way you can't go wrong. read more

Recently had the impossible burger here during the arts and wine festival, so happy they had a hearty vegan option. It was so delicious I went back this week to have it again. My fiancé and I saw this restaurant while attending Medford Food Truck night a few weeks ago and decided to try it out. I'm glad we did!! We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door and promptly seated next to the fireplace which was nice since it was a cold night. Our server was very friendly and prompt, she quickly got our beverages and told us all about the nightly features. My fiancé ordered the house made meatballs with pasta and I decided on the New York strip special. Her entree was served with a Caesar salad that was delicious, I wished I had ordered one. She really enjoyed her pasta dish and had enough leftover for dinner the next day. My steak was delicious! Cooked perfectly and the brandy mushroom sauce that I almost opted to omit was DELICIOUS!! Seriously, it was SO good! A gentleman that I assume was the chef or owner was leaving for the night and stopped by the table on his way out to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. This was such a nice touch that you usually only experience at local, family owned spots. Prices were also very reasonable for the quality. In addition to serving great food, the location also has a ton of character and history that adds to the ambiance and makes this a perfect spot for date night or just a nice dinner spot for any night of the week. Attended the Easter breakfast this morning with high expectations due to an expensive $50 price tag. After pulling into the parking lot around the back and walking into a small unmarked door to enter, we were greeted with an almost empty room that appeared lifeless. We were brought to our reserved table and ordered drinks. This is when we noticed the food selection. We were offered nothing more than you would see at your free hotel breakfast served until 8am. After filling my plate with scrambled eggs, bacon strips potatoes and sausage links, with a little bit of salad, we noticed none of it was warm. We asked to speak to a manager and when asking why the price was so high for such a low quality buffet, he responded explaining how the balloon man and the Easter bunny rental was the cause. Braddock's holds a special place in my heart because my brother finally tied the knot here. The wedding was held in the back reception room and they did a really nice job. The food was great and everything seemed to run seamlessly, which is a pretty major feat for a party of that size. I finally had the opportunity to try Braddock's for lunch yesterday afternoon and had a lovely meal. The seafood souffle was deeelish, and was served with garlic mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked zucchini. For dessert I had the vanilla bean creme brulee. Now I must say that I'm not a huge fan of creme brulee. I like, but it's not my first choice for dessert. Well, Braddock's is to die for. Seriously. It's heaven in a ramekin. The building is an old historical home that's quaint and cozy, on the Main Street through Medford, a great little town. I've been here at least a hundred times. I think it's been around at least 100 years. It's in the heart of Medford on Main Street where all of the quaint, nostalgic and times past stores are located. They recently changed their menu which was at first disapppointing but it was probably time to freshen it up - don't get me wrong - everything on their menu was way above average and they still carry some of the same things but have added and changed other things. Their menu is extensive. They have (one of my fav apps) the seafood puff pastry (talk about calories) - it's a very small puff pastry baked to perfection with seafood inside and a light cheese type sauce and it just melts in your mouth. I have probably had at least 20 different items on their menu since I've been going there and have yet to have a bad meal. They hold weddings, receptions, showers, holiday functions and more in their reception rooms (they have 2 available depending on the size of the party). They have the diningroom (formal and traditional setting) and they have their bar and lounge (which is where I usually go) with the TV and high round tables and stools and a great bar which probably seats about 20 people. Great casual setting to meet for a drink and bite after work or even late at night. Low lighting = nice ambiance. The drinks are always made just the way I like them (maybe it's because the bartender knows by now how I like my drinks). They are always friendly and on top of things. Very accomodating as well...they removed their wedge salad from their menu...I used to love it and asked our waiter if they could still make one for me and they did. This used to be my favorite area restaurant. That is, until they systematically removed every single item I liked from the menu. Seriously -- this place used to feature several of my favorite dishes anywhere -- then they got rid of them. The Salmon with Capellini and Veal Normandy were to die for. But they're gone. Never to return. It's a shame -- a real shame. I haven't been back since. I'm sure the meals are still excellent -- they always were. The side dishes of escalloped potatoes and vanilla-infused carrots were delicious -- and probably still are. Braddock's also features some rather interesting "Special Events" like Wild Game Night, or Wine Lover's Night and are all available upon reservation and require pre-payment. The decor is gorgeous -- you see, Braddock's has been around for a long time -- since 1823, to be precise -- and the building is beautiful. This is a very nice building and space of a business, however I was disappointed with the quality of food for the price. I guess they think they can get away with it in Medford, NJ where they are lacking fine-dining establishments. My boyfriend and I ordered the seared ahi tuna and jumbo shrimp from the bar as appetizers. These were good, but extremely overpriced for the amount of food we were given (4 pieces per order). After ordering the tuna and only having two pieces since my boyfriend I split it the appetizer -I was craving more fresh tuna and ordered the tuna burger which came with a honey glaze andbutter lettuce - rare as it should be. Maybe they don't sell enough of these, but that's not an excuse - the tuna was definitely not fresh. I took one bite and couldn't stomach the rest. I took it home to my cats and even they hesitated. If they ever want to redo their menu - call me up. My suggestion: fresh tuna topped with seaweed salad in a citrus vinagrette - nix the roll all together. I was happy to find that they carried some beers from Yard's Brewing Co. however, there wasn't much of a selection beyond that. We are in a brewery-rich area of the country and so more should be recognized. I would love to see more of a variety of breweries and seasonal styles. The clientele wasn't anything to write home about. Just middle-aged men who never figured out what would really make them happy and decided to drown their sorrows in a "coors light served in a pint glass". read more

My high school graduation itself was largely a snooze, but leaving behind thirteen yrs of angst and peers calls for extreme celebration. And if you want a belly full of happy, Braddock's is thee place to go. While it has been several yrs, I still occasionally dream of Braddock's, that sweet private upstairs room where my family gathered to feast and moreso the Feast itself. Silence settled into that room with the arrival of each course. Everyone was pleased. Was this possible? I think I had the calamari appetizer, a treat of subtle flavors when made right. Even the salad, which to many in my family serves as light relief before the entree, was well received. Oh, and I will never ever forget the spoonful of creamy potato soup my aunt allowed me. Heavenly warmth, thy name might be Braddock's cream of potato soup. When it came to entrees, everyone ate a little of every else's dish. They were all amazing. The scene was reminiscent of a cheerful banquet; the food took over senses and stomachs and no one could think to be contrary. Mm, and the chocolate dessert. It was delicious, not too heavy or overwhelming. That was also the first time I tasted creme brulee. It really is satisfying to crack the sugary surface. First I was over charged by $21.30 , second after arriving home and looking at what they gave me they didn't give nearly enough to feed a family of four. This DOG-FRIENDLY place has outdoor seating, great food, and most importantly, great SERVICE. We brought our 85 pound dog (on a leash) there and right away, the servers were greeting her, petting her, and talking to us about her. We had to sit outside, obviously, but we were expecting that, anyway. It's a great place to sit outdoors and enjoy your meal. Before we barely got settled at our table, the manager comes outside and brings our dog a dish of ice water. So thoughtful! The food was delicious, too. Their burgers were seasoned well and a nice size. Their home made potato chips were fresh and hot. A little spicy, they had old bay seasoning on them. A little more bacon on the burger would've been great, but it was still a yummy burger. Their pork tostadas appetizer was great. One more chip would have been preferred, but it was still a nice enough size for an app. The Flirtini cocktail was perfect on a hot day. Chilled and a little sweet! I've been wanting to go here for a while, but after my dinner last night, I can't say I was impressed or that I'll be back even though I live very locally. First, the good things about Braddock's - the inside of the building is historic and very attractive, they have great outdoor seating in a charming part of town, and our server was very nice and attentive. However, for me, the downsides outweigh the positives. First, the menu is very limited. Most of the meals don't come with a vegetable (just potato chips), and adding a vegetable side is expensive ($7 for a side of asparagus?!) My friend and I both got burgers, and they were extremely bland and tasteless. I don't think this restaurant has ever heard of salt or pepper, much less any other kind of seasoning. I had heard so much about the mac & cheese here, so we ordered that as well, but I found it to be "meh" (not bad but not great), and like the burgers, lacking in flavor or seasoning. The portion sizes were small, the flavor was seriously lacking, and our bill came to $45 for two burgers and mac and cheese. We didn't get any beverages or dessert. I think Braddock's is trying to be a fancy establishment, and while the appearance is in line with that goal, the quality of the food just isn't there to justify the prices. read more
