This is probably the worst experience I've had at a restaurant in a while. My friend and I decided to go here for a nice dinner, and the staff seemed to think we were invisible. It's ridiculous that every other group sitting in the same room (heterosexual couples and families) were served way after we sat down, yet two girls (who were actually not in a relationship but seem to have been perceived that way) were not served. Based on the complete lack of service as we sat there waiting for a full hour, I plan to never return to this homophobic establishment. read more

Be warned for Mother's Day!! We have been enjoying Easter Brunch at Braddocks for years but the Pandemic caused us to miss a couple of years. No enjoying the food this year! The menu was a surprise having replaced a great buffet....our daughter made the reservation and they never mentioned the change. Don't assume anything will be the same theses days but it was her fault for not asking. The menu selection was okay but the actual food was terrible. Really terrible! The servers were nice young kids who didn't understand what I was talking about when I requested more hollandaise for the eggs Benedict ( there was almost none). Just had dinner upstairs there. Service was absolutely awful. The waitress (Devon) was terrible. She told us the special, one at our table ordered it, was supposed to come with two sides and didn't. They ran out 1 of the sides but never the other. Also the waitress never came back to see how our meals were or to see if we needed anything. Told the host when leaving what happened and he said oh I'll let her know. Unbelievable poor service. Never again will get our business. read more

Braddocks is a great local restaurant. It's definitely a cozy, nice, restaurant. I would recommend getting reservations because you might not get a table. Even with reservations we were sat in a somewhat awkward location by the front. The first time I went, I was highly confused of how to enter the actual restaurant. The tables in front of the door seem to hinder customers from coming in. I felt as though I was I intruding on someone eating. Our meal itself was good. The appetizer we ordered (the vegetable board) as well as the dessert were comparatively better. My only complaint was I hoping for a bit more food. I do recommend Braddocks and it's my favorite restaurant in Medford but there are a couple of small quirks. read more

I started with the oysters which were good and fresh. After the bread and oysters went away so did the rest of my good experience. For starters and I feel terrible saying this but it is what it is the waiter was for lack of better words ANNOYING; he was way to talkative and not in a good way. I ordered the French onion soup and it was literally water... not only was it flavorless it was $10.00 and not hot. I also ordered their "Braddock's BLT" which was good and sounded worth the money ($15.00) on the menu and figured that's not bad for a bacon filled sandwich ... I got a small seeded roll (literally a piece of roll) with 2 pieces of bacon, and I'm not exaggerating all tomato and cheese... I bit into it and it fell of if the bread. That being said I looked at my order and said maybe I should try and order dinner specials my next visit... MISTAKE I ordered the chicken denoix and when the waiter (same Chatty Cathy as last visit) he delivered a BURNT bird. I ate the mashed potatoes and vegetables and didn't touch the bird. He comes over to take my plate looks at the bird untouched and actually said "awe man I'm sorry about that" and just walked away. I haven't been back since, if you want an overpriced place to go eat with the locals who are drinking in the room next door check it out. If not go to route 70/73 your better off. read more

This place served a cold, flavorless Thanksgiving dinner a few years back. I should have learned my lesson then. Just went there again today for Easter. Another ruined holiday meal. Flavorless mac n' cheese (which is supposed to be a "signature" item there) and service from a young staff that seems completely inept. I finally just gave up on this place. We all know not all restaurants are perfect every time... but I can say that Braddock's on the bar side is a great hangout with great service.. we've been going quite often on Saturday nights and the bartenders and servers are very nice and attentive.!! Braddock's Tavern is a local landmark with deep history. It reminds me of some of the old school taverns that you find in West Chester/Kennet Square area. The food is always good and high quality. The bar staff is friendly and talented. This is a great date spot, we love eating at the bar(if you can get a spot). Love the upscale BLT with long-hots, amazing burger, and they have the best cheese steak egg rolls. read more

Stopped here after a doctor's appointment and so glad we did. Small menu but amazing food and service!! The pretzel app is like nothing we ever had before and loves the sauces that came with it. Raw oysters were fresh and delicious. I had the BLT, which was massive and filled with bacon, my only complaint would be the jalapeños (too many and really hot but easy to remove from the sandwich). My husband had the burger and I had a taste and WOW, amazing!!! We shared a creme brûlée and again just awesome. You will not be disappointed a MUST stop!!! read more

I have been coming here for years. Love the ambiance, excellent menu selection and innovative cocktails made by the bartenders. Most recently while the service and cocktails were on par the simple INTERNATIONAL/DOMESTIC CHEESE & CHARCUTERIE BOARD was sad. Disappointing...can't think of any other word to describe our recent dinner at Braddock's. There was nothing particularly wrong with the food or the service, but nothing particularly right about it either. Certainly nothing to justify the upscale prices. The four of us opted for burgers and crab cake sandwiches. They were good--but it's hard to justify $18 for a burger and fries. This is Medford, not New York. By the time we added a bottle of wine, two beers and tip, we walked out with a $160 tab. We had been to Braddock's years ago and enjoyed the colonial elegance. It seems the place isn't sure of its identity now...is it an upscale restaurant with upscale prices or a neighborhood pub? For instance, the waitstaff is casually dressed in polo shirts while the specials run $54 and an over-the-top $69 for the lobster. They had Madrigal singers for the holidays, which was nice, but there's a kind of sports bar atmosphere. Our service was friendly but uneven. There were delays in bringing our drinks--the bar was backed up--and the waitress brought out bread a few minutes before bringing our burgers. Overall, the place was mediocre. I checked this place out for the first time and was blown away by both the drinks and food! Steph was our bartender and she made one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had - and I've had many! They're my go-to drink at any bar that serves them. We then ordered a pretzel (which was seemingly as big as my arm) and you could tell that it was fresh out of the oven. I never write reviews. Ever. But for this one, I downloaded the Yelp app. My husband and I went out for our anniversary dinner. We sat outside, despite being offered a table inside. We ordered a bottle of wine and an appetizer. The app came quickly, same with the wine. After finishing the app, it took over 45 minutes for our dinners to be served. So long actually that a table of six received their dinner before us. Even though some of their party arrived while we were enjoying our app. Our wine bottle was empty. Our dinners were fantastic, my husband said it was one of the best meals he ever had. We were anxious to order dessert - already had it picked out. Another THIRTY MINUTES later, the waiter came to clear our plates. In this time he had come back, but not acknowledged us, acknowledging "regulars". He offered dessert but we declined and asked for the check. Another 10+ minutes and we paid and finally left. Zero apologies the whole time. After all that waiting. My husband has worked in the service industry for years and said, even thought it killed him, tonight was the first time he left less than 20% tip. We are new to Medford, just moved here. I have been coming to Braddock's for years. While it's not the fine dining destination it once was, it's still a solid choice for a quiet evening meal, or a nice drink and appetizer in the cozy pub area. The place is rustic and candle lit, a little scruffy from years of use, but the folks who work there are friendly and the drink prices are pretty good. The food varies from solid (burger) to homey (mac and cheese) to excellent (turkey meatloaf). The portions are not exactly generous, but not small either, but everything is a touch pricy. I have not had an entree in a while, but the new owners (who also own the Ott's chain) have cut the menu down a bit from the previous. Other diners say the veal Burlington is still the star of the menu. The wine selection by the glass is good for the part of the world, though the craft beer revolution is still happening here, with just one Yards and one Victory tap to balance out a Sam Adams seasonal and some other crap. The crowd is a cross section of Burlington County, from farmers out for a special night on the town, to soccer moms having a few martini drinks to a few rugged regulars at the rail in the afternoon. Ultimately the thing that makes the place 3 stars instead of 2 is the staff. Jessica and Colleen are fun and chatty but can hustle drinks and work the room with the best of them. I love this main street that Braddock's is located on. Walk inside to what feels like someone's house with the fireplace going, it's a very comfortable setting.Bar looked like it was to the left, but my mom and I got a table towards the kitchen on the right. The menu is comfort foods mixed in with some fun specialties here and there. Any place that basically has a 'create your own mac & cheese' can't go wrong. My mom does not eat a lot, so she was happy to get a small Caesar salad with grilled chicken. She loved every bit of it, especially the dressing (which by the way, is a great way to judge a restaurant..) I started with the potato and poblano soup. Tasty! I myself would have made it smoother, but a few bites of the potato was nice with the poblano. The Meatloaf was my main dish. I rarely get meatloaf, but I was happy with this dish. First off- HUGE. The whipped potatoes were delicious, but the brussel sprouts could have been braised a few minutes longer. Everything was seasoned nicely though. Mom really wanted dessert, so I ended up taking half my meal home. We both were eyeing the apple cobbler. It was small, but packed with great flavor. I think a scoop of ice cream or something like that would have been a nice compliment to it. I'll certainly be back to try more. read more

Came across this place today. Was looking for something new. Went to Medford village and saw this historic looking home Was intrigued and so we went in and was quickly in love with this building, the look, the feel, the atmosphere. Different rooms all with fireplaces. Antique furniture. A cozy bar and an enclosed patio room. They were serving brunch today. We just had some soup and some appys but everything was prepared beautifully and it was delicious. We loved this place so much that we made a reservation while sitting there for next Saturday. If you live within 10mi radius I highly suggest this place. It's known to be one of the "nicer" restaurants in Medford. Even with covid happening they do a nice job of keeping everything accommodated nicely without sacrificing customer experience. We had a friend visiting from out of town and we talked so highly of this place very embarrassed. The food was very good but the waitress never asked for refills on our drinks or if our food came out ok? We had our annual holiday work party here yesterday. And I have to say this colonial room was absolutely beautiful, it was decorated nicely and even had a Christmas tree up. We had about 70ish attendees and still felt like we could accommodate many more ppl there. The food was outstanding! We had a buffet style set up and the food just kept flowing out. The salmon and mac&cheese was delicious. Peter and his staff were courteous and a pleasure to work with. They made sure everything we needed was set up and ready for our event. Braddocks tavern is back, baby! Outstanding meal, service, ambience and overall dining experience --5 STARS! We sat on the upper porch looking down over Medford's Main Street which, during Christmas season, is extremely picturesque. The porch was not chilly at all, considering it was wickedly cold outside. Our server, Adam, was attentive, friendly and polite. He was completely focused throughout our meal on making our dining experience great, which it was (nice beard). Everything we ordered was delicious. The Gray Goose cosmos were strong and smooth. The apple fondue and wedge salad appetizers were really tasty. Our main courses -- lobster pot pie and Australian venison -- were delicious and perfectly prepared. The venison was rare, exactly as I requested, and served in a delicious dark pepper sauce. Not only was it not gamey at all, but it was also the most tender cut of meat I've ever eaten. What a welcome change from steak. I literally cut it with a fork. I am not generally a rice eater, but even the wild rice side was excellent. All the portions were large enough that we had to take multiple doggy bags home. The bread pudding and ice cream dessert was also excellent. The coffee was strong, not bitter -- exactly as I like it. As if the night couldn't get any better, 3 beautiful ladies circulated through the restaurant singing a capella Christmas carols, stopping 2 separate times at our table to sing anything we requested. They even gave us bells and cymbals so we could accompany them (sorry, ladies, my wife is not musically inclined). They were absolutely fabulous. I wanted to take them home with me :) We've been long-time customers of Braddocks Tavern. Over the years both the menu choices and food quality have been consistently inconsistent, and I learned to avoid eating anything other than bar food there. Paying high prices for a disappointing meal is not my idea of a good time, so I opted to take my dining room dollars elsewhere. The lack of dining room customers at prime dinnertime on this night probably reflects the woefully poor reputation Braddocks has earned over the years. But those days are gone! The new chef, Chef Anthony, has done an outstanding job revamping the menu, investing attention to details and flavors, and raising the quality of his food to 5 Star status. Braddocks tavern is finally at the very top of my favorite restaurants. I cannot wait to go back for dinner again. If you have not tried Braddocks recently, I strongly encourage you to return and have dinner there again. Thankfully, it is nothing like the tired old Braddocks. Braddocks worked within our budget, very flexible with my ideas for decor, had plenty of staff for our event, plenty of food choices and everything was delicious. My family just ordered take out for my daughter's birthday and the food was delicious! My husband loved the brisket sandwich and the Mac and cheese is awesome!
