Braddock's is not the restaurant your parents went to. The menu and the bar offerings have more of a pub feel. I've been to Braddock's a few times since the end of the summer and the meals have been solid. The Sangria is excellent. My friends tend to get martinis. They are happy with the pour. The few meals I had were good. The last meal was the chicken buffalo sandwich and the flavors were on point. I think Braddock's needs to add more sides. Chips or fries isn't much of a choice. The menu, in general, is small; however, it does have variety. Mac and cheese with numerous add-on options is a big selling point for one of my friends. It's a two-portion serving. The decor is stark and I really can't figure it out; however, the building is charming and that is relaxing in itself. I definitely recommend a turn at Braddock's. We stopped by this place bc we thought it was cute. It's a very home-y place to eat. I ordered the Braddock's Burger and the cheese board which were both extremely delicious. It was my first burger with Arugula and it did not disappoint. They didn't have fries which was a little sad but their alternative chips sufficed. As for the charcuterie board, the cheese/meat to cracker ratio was a little off but still enjoyable nonetheless! It certainly picks up and gets busier during lunch time. Overpriced and underwhelming. Came in for Sunday brunch with my family. The menu is limited, but decent enough offerings. The food is so-so. A cut above pub style fare, but pretty overpriced for what it is. Staff is also not concerned with helping guests, just doing the bare minimum and going through the motions. There didn't seem to be a manager on duty, or at least none that seemed interested in actually managing anyone. Ambiance is lacking. It's an old building which I suppose is supposed to be part of the charm, but it just feels run down. There were also flies swarming all over the dining room. I get that it's summer, and sometimes that can be hard to avoid, but it was just too much. There were no less than a dozen flies constantly swarming around our table, as well as others. Hard to mistake the constant hand swatting from most of the other guests. All in all, a very lackluster experience. Was our first time trying the place, but I doubt we'll be back. read more

The menu states that you can add "JUMBO" crab meat to the mac and cheese for an additional $15. DO NOT order this option, it's a scam. The "JUMBO" crab is actually itsy bitsy tiny (unrecognizable) shredded pieces of crab. The waitress seemed unconcerned when I questioned where the "JUMBO" crab was and she said it was shredded into the mac and cheese. We dug through the mac and cheese trying to be reasonable trying to identify pieces of crab. read more

Went here for brunch with my dad and boyfriend. None of us were impressed by the food or environment. When we got to our table the reusable napkins were stained, there were a lot of flies inside and it overall just felt dirty. My boyfriend got the filet mignon sandwich which he said he didn't like, my dad wanted to get the pita but they were out of falafel so he got a burger. I got the chicken and waffles and I actually enjoyed my dish which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. Overall this isn't a place I'm going to be visiting again. read more

Early in the week, my husband and I made a reservation for 7pm, Saturday 4/22 for downstairs dining seating, to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. I received an email reservation confirmation. On Saturday I received two reservation reminders, one via email and one via text at 30 minutes before our reservation time. We arrived at the restaurant a few minutes before 7pm. We approached the hostess stand and were told by 2 young hostesses that our table was outside. ??? They told us "our system shows you reserving an "outside table" for 7pm". I said that was not correct, and proceeded to show her my email confirmation which clearly states "downstairs dining". They said, "Sorry, we have no indoor tables, we are completely booked. We can only seat you outside." I asked how did my email confirmation show my correct request, but their system was showing something different. Shoulders were shrugged. No explanation or meaningful apology. Again, "We can only seat your outside." At this point, wind is blowing, and there is thunder rumbling in the distance!! I asked to speak with the manager and was told that he was "busy & unavailable" with a large party upstairs. I asked again that he make himself available for a few minutes so that I could speak with him. He finally appeared and said "Sorry, there's nothing we can do." I explained that it was THEIR error because I had an email confirmation, that this was a 45th anniversary dinner and that we were counting on dinner there, etc. etc. His attitude and that of the 2 hostesses was a short "Sorry, but there's nothing we can do." I asked again, are going to let us just walk out of here, when it is clearly your fault, without some sort of solution or reparation, to leave a negative review??" I was met with a smug shrug of the shoulders and was told, "Mention my name, Jack". So here's your mention, Jack, showing your rudeness and your total lack of customer service. We are now two more people who vow never to come back to this establishment. I wonder how the owners of this restaurant feel about the people who represent their business. P.S. Upon leaving the restaurant, there was a total deluge of a rainstorm. What would they have done if we had initially agreed to be sat outside, as they insisted?? Ridiculous. read more

We celebrated our wedding at Braddock's Tavern this past fall. The staff is beyond gracious and helpful. The wedding coordinator, Pete, was great! There wasn't a single issue that wasn't easily handled by him. The reception was beautiful and as the bride I was grateful as there was very little for me to do. Decorating was a minimum as Pete made it beautiful with his decorative style and experience. Our guests had a wonderful time and the food was delicious!! Had the so called crispy calamari, the calamari was no where near crispy actually it was very chewy and didn't taste well at all. My wife had the vodka chicken, it pretty bad when you can get better tasting vodka sauce at a pizza place. The only reason I gave two stars is because I had the meatloaf and it was ok. Came here on a Saturday afternoon between a wedding and reception. A little chaotic in the bar with influx of people, but the beer selection was good and the apps we ordered were delicious. I just had my daughter's baptism celebration at Braddock's in Tamberson Hall and I can't say enough good things!!! The room is beautiful, the food was UNREAL (we did a luncheon menu with steak, salmon, potatoes, veggies, etc), and the staff were exceptionally kind, attentive, and accommodating. I've eaten at Braddock before and usually even when it's busy its fine but tonight was very different. I booked a reservation for 6:45pm and although we were sat promptly that was the last bit of service we received, no one even greeted us. For half an hour we watched every other table receive water, food, and refills while the staff seemed to avoid us. What I thought would have been a higher end experience turned into a long wait and a ruined date. The service was horrible we waited 15 minutes before anyone came to the table we had no water no one even said Hello . we had a friend visiting from out of town and we talked so highly of this place very embarrassed. The food was very good but the waitress never asked for refills on our drinks or if our food came out ok ? It might not be fair to judge a restaurant by the way they serve a banquet or buffet meal on a busy, crazy day, but Braddock's Tavern made it easy. Spoiler alert, In a word, they "nailed" it! The basics - The main facility is rustic with low ceilings in places, crossed by wood beams. Cool! But for the buffet patrons, you cross through the clubby tavern and enter into their high-ceiling, cheerfully decorated and brightly lit dining hall. What? White table cloths and napkins at a buffet - tres chic! This was Thanksgiving so the buffet line (well stocked, never crowded) was filled with grandma's comfort foods. Mashed and sweet potatoes (both excellent with the mashed scoring high marks with this diner) shared the line with green beans, vegetables lasagna, sausage stuffing, chicken with mushroom gravy and salmon Florentine. Whew! Of course, there was a soup and salad table - tomato bisque and maple butternut squash - both hot and delish! There were two types of salads. Regular green salad and Caesar with a good selection of restaurant quality dressing. Of course, there was a bread basket - alas, the only ordinary offering - the rolls were just Ok. The jewel in the crown was the carving station where a knife wielding chef - Blayze - deftly served up superbly roasted, turkey and wonderfully rare prime rib... Decisions decisions! Ha! I had a serving of both. Our waitress, Danielle, kept our soft drink glasses full and the used plates were whisked away as we finished each course. She was busy with lots of patrons to take care of but we never felt at a loss for her attention. She's a keeper! The dessert table was well stocked with cookies, brownies, pumpkin pie, Apple cranberry Cobbler and my favorite, creamy cheese cake - one of the best I have ever eaten. The real surprise was the bowl of freshly made whipped cream. It made each dessert something special. The verdict? Braddock's made our Thanksgiving meal a family feast. Highly recommended! read more

I watched patrons come and go and people that came in after me received service while I was ignored. I went inside and complained to the man inside and he said they didn't see me..... I'd respect this place more if he would have told me or they had a sign that they don't serve people of color.... This place has gone through alot of changes over the years. The website and food pictures look amazing. I had not been to Braddock's in a long time so I decided to stop in. Honest opinion, the food did not look as good as in the pictures and was just okay. The management gets a low score from me as the front of the house does not have much guidance or direction. If you sit at the bar the bar tenders seem to be pretty on point. However my experience sitting outside has not been a good one. They have all the ingredients for success but the wait staff needs some leadership. I wonder if they even read these reviews and try to improve. I wish them all the best but I will not be going back anytime soon. read more

They made me put a star if I could it would be nothing. Went to the Medford,NJ Wine and Music Festival today. Beautiful day, good turnout. Braddock's had tables on the street across from our friend's band. First thing, I put my name down for a table of 4. Now at the time there were several (3-4) empty tables. Hostess tells us hour wait, ok no problem, name, number given. Time passes and I head to the outdoor hostess podium to ask how long ... no name no number, nothing. Back and forth, they refused to let me see the papers with the names and party size. There was no "Sorry, the other hostess just left, we'll seat you as soon as we can" (still empty tables) NOTHING but a snotty face and attitude. The location was idea but as we know the Braddock's Tavern food is spotty at best. This is not a food review this is an attitude infomercial. I don't know about you but my money is precious, so I am careful where I spend it. I want to be treated respectfully and fairly... ok with kindness! This did not happen... Rudeness seems to be running rampant! Oh by the way the Lobster Roll truck was AMAZING!! Door closed, window open!!! So happy I did not reward the Rudeness!!! This place has a lot of strengths. First off the owner is just simply an incredibly nice guy. His staff are equally as nice and super friendly. Our server was great and knew the menu inside and out. The service and ambiance gave it 4 stars. The food was more like 3 stars, only because some items were home runs and others were average. The pretzel appetizer was perfect, as was the complimentary bread served before dinner. The chicken entree was delicious but the poutine off the bar menu was bland and not worth repeating in two separate varieties. The creme brulee was great in flavor, terrible in texture and went unfinished with 3 people sharing. I would go back, but I would definitely order differently. Went for the $1 Oysters...my wife had a shrimp dish off the happy hour menu. My oysters we're good but very small, my wife's shrimp we're over fried, mostly breading with tiny, tiny shrimp and tasteless...we sent them back and they took the charge off the bill. My wife also had French onion soup that she said was average at best. My wife had a glass of the house champagne that was flat (no bubbles)... we sent it back and got another glass that was a fine. I got a local draft beer that was very good. When we got the bill we were overcharged by $2.00 for the onion soup. After sending the champagne and the shrimp back I didn't bother the waitress with the overcharge. The wait staff was nice and helpful. read more

Meh...expensive for food that isn't prepared to the standards you would expect for the price. We ordered half a dozen oysters which were tiny and deep cupped. They were full of grit from broken shell and didn't come with a fork so they were hard to get out. I gave up after the first one. I know the deeper oysters are difficult to shuck but then consider offering a different variety. For the entree I ordered the mafaldine and it was not seasoned at all...didn't even taste like the pasta water was salted. I also didn't see any hazelnuts in it. I hate asking for salt and pepper at a restaurant but doing so made it taste much better. My boyfriend ordered the halibut and it was over cooked. At 42 dollars, it's kind of a disappointment. The dessert was an overly sweet chocolate tart. I don't mind spending money for food and experience but the porch was cold and leaking and the server charged us for the wrong bill. Drinks were good, though! The potential for the concept of casual yet elegant is there is just needs major tweaking. read more
