Not sure why it took so long so cook up 2 eggs for him. He was also disappointed in his brunch. It was obvious they used frozen bagged shrimp. Probably the 26-30/lb because the shrimp were really small and had the nerve to be overcooked. Workers just seemed disheveled. Not sure what happened to Vondas but it fell off for sure. We're not from Newark and would travel here for years. Not anymore. This is the end of an era, definitely won't be back. Absolutely don't recommend.

And they do not offer credit for the missing item. Instead, they always say, "next time you come in just tell us you are owed a side or main and we'll give it to you." This does not work if you see ordering online, and it's just an honor system that never works out for the customer. And it wouldn't bother me if this didn't happen Every. Single. Time.

I'm traveling through NJ alone today, so I pull off I-78 in Maplewood and find the Park Wood Diner. This is an old school corner diner with a rear wraparound parking lot that's locally popular. I grab a seat at the counter and start checking out the menu. The breakfast menu card is tabloid sized and filled with choices on both sides and is available all day. I'm afraid to see what the lunch and dinner menu looks like. One of my breakfast favorites is corned beef hash and I get it with 2 eggs sunny side up with home fries and white toast. I love laying the oozy yolk onto a slice of toast and if there's any bread left, use it to sop up any runny yolk left on the plate. Of course, the yolk runs onto the hash and home fries, too. After this leisurely filling breakfast, can I even think about lunch or maybe dinner? I'll have to make a point to come back to see what's in store on the lunch menu. Maybe a pastrami or corned beef on rye or a comforting meatloaf? See you next time!

I love to support a black business when, I have the chance. So my Son and I decided to go to Bradfords Barr Restaurant & Catering. After seeing positive reviews along with the food pictures they post on their Facebook, IG, and Yelp pages. We arrived at the establishment around 8PM. We were greeted with a warm friendly welcome and seated immediately. The wait staff was very accommodating and attentive. We ordered the braised beef ribs that comes with rice and 2 sides. So in actuality you get 3 sides (score !). For my 2 sides I had mac and cheese along with broccoli. My son ordered the same except he had Jersey Fries instead of mac and cheese. The fries were good, so good they didn't need ketchup or seasoning. 2 nice size ribs came with the order. They were super tender and moist. With a sauce that is finger licking good! The broccoli was the best I have tasted thus far. It was served tender in a butter, garlic, onion coating. The atmosphere is quaint. The customer service was great. Friendly, humorous, and they even allowed me to watch lifetime on one of the 2 flat screen TVs. I ordered the Blueberry Delight Dessert to go. It was a light cream mixture not quite cheesecake but similar. Served on a nut graham cracker crust, topped with a blueberry cheesecake style topping. Omg, Ive been seeing so many different post and pictures about this place & one of my cousin's frequent this place , so I decided back in December to try it out one weekend & I not only enjoyed everything I have tried thus far, I myself have become a frequent here, u can catch me here atleast 2Times a week!!! I have recently fell in love with there A1 gourmet sports burger!! Since my 1st bite I 've been hooked Omg the taste is indescribable, its like a parade of Flavors bursts into ur mouth.... Love at 1st taste!! Before that I was hooked on the pan seared chicken breast dinner with mac & broc... seriously the broccoli is heaven sent! & did I mention the Nana pudding dessert? I LOVE IT HERE! Myself & my soon to be husband at the time stumbled upon this place after looking for a place to cater our wedding. I have to say after we ate her food we agreed that going anywhere else would be worthless lol her jasmine rice comes with every meal which is ALWAYS fluffy, her ribs are amazing, her broccoli is TO DIE FOR. I have no idea what she seasons it with but it is AMAZING. Her lobster mac & cheese is lovely. My husband is a fiend for her banana pudding. Sharonda who is the owner is a such a sweet person who gives off the most positive energy. My son discovered Bradfords Barr on Yelp. Since it's in the neighborhood where we live, we decided to try it today. From the greeting to paying, it was a warm, professional environment. Though limited, seating is quaint, if you're dining in. I was picking up 2 entrees, fried wings w/ Mac and Cheese & green beans, and fried fish w/Mac and Cheese and candied yams. It looked fresh, smelled great and it taste out of this world, good! I'm such a finicky eater, so I'm not easily impressed and Bradfords Barr manage to blow me away! Special place today we're having chicken and waffles the waffle melt n ur mouth and not n ur hands homemade and delightful served with hot butter and syrup ... The atmosphere is intimate and the staff is attentive and welcoming...those things are great and the greatest is the food! I've had the shrimp & grits and the fried chicken & fries-LISTEN, it's just amazing and made fresh! The seasoning, the texture, the taste & presentation are beautiful to the eye and pleasant to the taste buds! Delectable is a decent way to describe it! Best waffles and fried chicken I've ever had, but charges can pile up since prices may be a bit different from those listed on the menu. Also, not informed there are no refills on coffee, which is unusual for in-house breakfast or brunch dining, and a request for water triggers an extra charge because opened bottled water is brought ro the table without offering the choice of tap water which I find to be quite presumptuous. read more

I'm glad SIP (neighboring rest.) provided poor service because I would have not been able to indulge in these tasty oxtails, tender collard greens, right amount of cinnamon candied yams. Potato salad dang near better than mine. well upon entering the cornerstone restaurant, no one was up front, but a young lady quickly comes up and greets with a smile. chipper and pleasant. The inside is small, not really a sit down and eat type establishment. Two small tables are available. I wish I had asked the young lady her name. she was patient and laughed when I asked what's good and best selling item. She said "everything!" Leaned towards me ordering the oxtail. She helped me deciding on sides and even convinced me the potato salad was good. she was right! everything was yummy and worth my $32.87. Portions are in keeping with the cost. I definitely can get 2 meals off this plate. Couldn't wait on the potato salad--Mustard base and sweet pickles. I normally wont eat mustard potato salad. apologies on the pic. I have a spot when I come back.

Not only did they fail to offer any suitable alternatives, but they also insisted that I cancel the order myself. Unaware that this would result in a cancellation fee, I followed their instructions--only to find out I was still charged. When I contacted Uber Eats, they reached out to the restaurant, which then denied ever asking me to cancel. This establishment scammed me out of my money, and I will never order from them again. I will also be sharing my experience on every review platform to warn others. Avoid this place at all costs.

Recently, a friend told me they'd eaten there and liked it, so I figured why not?! For lunch, hubs and I shared a Spicy Beef Patty, a Curry Chicken Patty, and a Curry Goat Roti. Everything came out tasty, hot, and fresh, especially the roti, which came in a clamshell container. The roti was flaky and comforting, kind of like a Jamaican take on a chicken pot pie but with way more personality. Inside, the curry goat was ridiculously good. It had slow-cooked depth, tender meat, potatoes, and carrots and a layered sauce that tasted like turmeric, other warm spices, and a touch of smoke. It was fucking delicious! While there were a lot of bones (it's goat, after all), there was still a ton of meat and it fed me twice. This place is fast casual. You might have to wait up to twenty minutes for some dishes, but that time buys you flavor. I'm officially back on board. That curry goat roti? They also have dumpling, boiled banana and fried dumpling as well if that's what you want. I've also seen them carry okra and saltfish I believe but I'm not a fan of okra. The ackee and saltfish is amongst my favorite. Right alongside the callaloo and saltfish. They give nice size portions for the price and it's delicious. Not too salty. And it I is a little oily but not a lot. There are also small small bones in some of the pcs of saltfish as well. Overall, every chance I get to eat this from here I do! Give it a try.
