I used to recommend this place but in the past couple years they have been pretty unreliable about doing everything they said they were going to do. On top of that they did many things on my vehicle without asking first including Changing a brand new battery that died because they waited so long to work on the vehicle, they did not properly secure the new battery. MY BATTERY CAME OUT WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON A BRIDGE. Some other things they did on top of that were not properly fixed. They used the fact that they are super busy as an excuse. I was in town for the weekend with my daughter who is a student at UO, needing to get her front bumper on her Hyundai Accent reattached since it was hanging off a little. I had a whole list of places to go to get a quote but (unknown to me) most places are closed on Saturdays. I somehow happened upon Brad's information on this site and called to see if they could fit us in. Ron had us come in right away and understood that we didn't need a fancy fix, just something to get her through for a couple more years. Most other places would have made us replace the entire front bumper and the wheel well protector which also came off, and he was willing to work with what we had due to our being on a budget. He got it fixed in an afternoon for her and it looks great. I am feeling very lucky that everyone else was closed because Brad's and Ron saved us! If she needs any other work done while she's there, I will send her directly to Ron. He was great to work with and understood what we needed. read more

Honesty, Integrity, quality and great customer service. I've been taking my cars to other automotive shops and always had some type of issue come up. I.E. Didn't do all the work that they said they would do so it would have to go back to the shop and be redone. There pricing is fair and not eye gouging. I own a Mercedes and have always brought it to a local Certified Mercedes shop but the cost of repair was through the roof. I've had such a great experience now with all 4 cars which are Dodge, Honda, Ford and Mercedes. Now my fear is remedied when something goes wrong I trust that I will be in good care. I Just dropped off the Mercedes today and again a affordable price and great service. If you have experienced that feeling that you are being taken for a ride try out Brad's Specialized Service. Ron talked down to me telling me I don't understand paint needs to dry, he didn't know I was coming in, he didn't have the code.... This is no way to run a business. I can not recommend Brad's high enough! We rolled into town from Seattle at about 4:00PM with warped front brake rotors. Brads was able to get us in that evening and stayed late to get us back on the road. They also fixed our AC. The price was reasonable and they were very helpful and knowledgeable. I will not recommend this automotive shop to anyone. I took our truck in for a alignment which they said it would take about a 1/2 hour my appointment was at 2pm and at 2:50pm I ask how much longer as I had to start work at 4pm. They told me about 45 more mins so I asked if I could pay now to save time after work was completed and I paid. I explained to them how I was going to be late for work. At 4pm a different guy told me they needed another 1 1/2 hours to complete the job and asked if I could leave it over night because they closed at 5pm and the truck still pulls to the right and they need to replace a bolt/adjusters. I asked if it was going to cost us more money and he said not its part of the alignment. I left the truck and had to call for a ride for me and my 8 month year old son. Long story short i was told 3 time I wasn't being charged anymore by 2 different people and I didn't get my truck until 5pm the next day and they charged me an extra 70.00 dollars or refuse to give me my truck back. I tried to reason with Ron and he would not let me speak and yelled at me rudely and yelled "pull that truck back in here we're putting the old bolts back on." I will never go here again not to mention their wait area was '70 themed and dirty, I was afraid to get my son out of his car seat! read more

Brad's Specialized Service - Worst automotive shop I've ever went to!!! - Auto Repair Near Me - Eugene, Oregon

What an exceptional shop!!! Prior to the incident listed below Brad's serviced my Ram 3500 transmission with new filters and fluid and replaced the fluid in both my rear differential and transfer case. Excellent work at very reasonable rates. The following day the big task of replacing the upper and lower ball joints, which was my initial reason for contacting Brad's in the first place, was to begin. TWO other shops (neither in or near Eugene) were ready and willing to carry out the repair with one shop quoting me over $2000.00, using OEM parts. Ron, the GM, on the other hand quoted me a price of $1670.00 using far superior Moog parts instead of the mediocre, OE ball joints. This quote was based on my informing him of the other shop's diagnosis and my assumption that their diagnosis was correct. Correct it was not. Upon inspection of the ball joints prior to starting the work (which any reputable shop would do) Eric, the technician tasked with replacing them, informed Ron that they were in fact good and didn't need replacing. I was shocked, very ready to pay for what I thought was needed work for less than the original shop's quote, while using better parts. If needed, it was a far better deal. After being told there was no need to replace the ball joints Ron informed me that Brad's wasn't in the habit of charging for repairs that didn't need to be done. They didn't do business that way. A repair shop with integrity, what a breath do fresh air!! May I say with respect to other mechanics in Eugene that do good, honest work, Brad's is in a class by themselves!! Eugene is very fortunate to have access to this caliber of work, all at very reasonable rates. Now if I could only clone them and bring the entire shop to the Gulf Coast where I live, I would definitely be a happy camper!!! Thank you, Brad's!! You folks are the Best of the Best!!! read more

Just got my cal tuned up at Brad's and also, well, it was cutting out on me as I was driving around, so I asked them to take a look at that. Got the car back spick and span (looked so good, I did not recognize it!!) and the tune up, new belts, new fuel filter (that was the problem with the engine) and plugs, etc --- all cost less than $300!. My high opinion of these guys remains unchanged - so glad to have found them! read more

I was referred to Brad's on Friday afternoon to have my alignment checked. They graciously fit me in at 4 p.m. that same afternoon. Eric thoroughly checked my car and found that the alignment was actually fine There was no charge even though he had spent nearly 45 minute checking it out. DO NOT take your vehicle here if you can avoid it, terrible business which actively practices the money making scheme of fixing an unnecessary part of the car while disabling something which previously worked. I came into the shop with an engine problem, the staff must have seen me as a perfect victim, as I pretended I did not know much about the problem at all. I knew the intake manifold was leaking, but of course the staff here just outright decided to undergo an expensive fuel pump replacement. Absolutely nothing changed with the condition of my car, it only got worse and developed new problems, the temperature gauge was far into the red zone when I picked it up even after sitting in the lot for several hours. So my car was run at an extremely high heat for a significant amount of time, thus my head gasket began leaking immediately after taking it the Brad's Specialized Service, the car barely made it the five blocks home. On top of that, I noticed my heater had stopped working after, this is the ultimate insult to me, an indicator that the staff here were not interested in fixing my car, but only making money. What they had done is SWITCHED the termostat intake and outtake valve, so coolant couldn't cycle properly and my problems only got worse. NEVER go to this auto shop, it cost me several hundred dollars and a vehicle. I will never return read more

I was traveling with my sisters to visit Eugene for the weekend this July when it became clear my brakes had issues--shuddering and shaking when the brakes were applied at high speeds. I'd successfully ignored it for the last month since it only happened at high speeds, not around town. My sister, whose turn it was to drive, did not agree with my stategy. Brad's was my shop when I lived in Eugene, so I called when we were north of Portland to see if they could fit us in. Sure, they said, stop in and we'll take a look. Then somewhere south of Salem my air conditioning stopped working. So when we got to Brad's at 3:30, they fixed the brakes (rotars were out of round on the front) and then stayed 45 minutes past 5 (!!!) on a Friday to fix the air conditioning and change my oil! They totally saved our vacation and are amazingly honest, friendly, great communicators and exceedingly fair in their pricing. The best I've ever encountered. If you live around Eugene, take your car to Brad's, they do great work and will treat you right. read more

I'm not sure what Brads Specialized that the other reviewer went to. But i went to the one off Chambers. I was quoted a price of 300.00 to replace a power steering pump.. The pump ended up not being bad and it was only 2 pressure hoses. But guess how much i got charged? 300.00 anyway. They charge 88.00 labor a hour. One pressure hose cost 26.00 the other was 46.00. They said it was 2 hours labor. My car has now had 2 pressure hoses replaced and has been at that shop for 3 days. Unbelievable to me.... I really thought that they were good people and cared about their customers. Maybe they just dont like me. But I promise you this. I will never go to this establishment again. This place was broken into and our vehicle was one that received a smashed window and several items stolen from the interior. We were told by Ron that nothing was taken from our car. How would he know what was in our car and stolen? Actually over 500.00 dollars of personal items were stolen including an IPOD. The thieves actually hung out drinking soda from the machines and spending time enjoying themselves. Brad's doesn't even have a burglar alarm. They are too cheap to care. After asking us to provide documentation of our belongings and estimates of their worth (which we did) we were promised compensation because we were "their best customers." We have spent thousands with Brad's over the past 3 years. 3 months later we haven't even received a single call, message, or penny from Brad's. We are now questioning if they really provided all the services they have charged us for. Not only that, but Ron lied openly and was quite rude and defensive towards us when our car was vandalized. He even said that it was on us to file a police report because it was not really their problem, then he suddenly was promising to pay us for the theft. What kind of business gets robbed and blames it's a customers? Answer: Only a crummy, shoddy, cheap, and unethical business!!! DO NOT GO TO BRAD'S unless you want to get RIPPED OFF!! read more

this shop is horrible. i called them up for an estimate they quoted me $200. i brought my car to the shop because it was a good price. then they told be it would be $419 because its and old car and the parts were expensive. then finally when i went back to pay for the bill and pick up my car they gave me a bill for $539....... they have no idea what they are doing.... do not go to this shop. its a rip off. read more
