My husband and I frequent this place often. We've eaten several things off of the menu and can definitely recommend the beef burger, the turkey burger, and the veggie burger. Brady's seems to be a regular stop for many. We go there occasionally if we stop at Premier Pet Supply or Michigan Beer Growler Company. The bar is kind of cool since it's made with pennies. Staff is always friendly. They have a pretty good veggie burger and fries are good. They also have a decent craft beer list. If you want better beer, go down to MBGC and order carry out from Brady's. I have been to Brady's several times, and it has been the meeting place for my friend and I for months with no complaints. I have also met with friends for larger meetings. However, on 15 May, 2019, 11:15 am, I met with my friend at Brady's and ordered the same meal which I always do - tuna fish sandwich, whole wheat, toasted, no tomato. The sandwich came with an ice-cream scoop of tuna fish, half of which was on the plate - UNDER the bread - the sandwich was a mess. I asked the waitress if she would take it back to the kitchen and re-make the sandwich. She came back shortly, and the sandwich was exactly the same with the same tuna fish on the plate under the bread. Considering that maybe they were just having a bad day, I went ahead and ate some of the mess on my plate - resorting to using a fork because most of the tuna wasn't in the sandwich. I had to pull a hair out of my mouth that was in the tuna fish, and didn't finish the sandwich and asked for the bill. Then I saw that this mess of a tuna fish sandwich was over $10.00. I have made the choice to find another place to eat for my meetings. Very disappointed and very disappointing. I've been here quite a few times now and overall it's okay. There are some highlights for me food-wise, including the short rib and brisket burger and the deep fried rueben egg roll. The decor is pretty dated, and the tables have that decade long glaze that comes from a lack of a good deep clean. You know the kind, where some cleaning spray has become an unholy union with the dust and dirt and has firmly implanted itself into the tables and chairs. Dark, kind of dingy, and there are green lights up all the time. But, I'm not terribly hard to please decor-wise and not basing my 3 stars on it if the food is good (and it generally is good here). What I'm basing the 3 stars on is my sense of regret whenever I see my bill. It seems like each time I've gone there with my wife and had dinner, I end up leaving after paying a $70-80 tab. This is with 2 glasses of wine and (maybe) a beer for me, and two entrees and two appetizers. So that's one star down. The next is an experience I had back in February of this year. We went out on a Monday night (2/23) because that's the only day we could get my mother-in-law to watch our kids. This was the day before my wife's birthday (2/24), and even though we'd been there a number of times before, they absolutely refused any kind of free dessert for her birthday because it wasn't exactly the day of. Now we're not regulars, but I've spent a guesstimate of $500 there between 5 sit down dinners and carry out orders. A little ice cream and a piece of cake would have gone a long way to make me feel better about their high prices, but in this case their refusal to even do that made me feel the opposite about them. Actually, the more I think about it more it pisses me off. So that's a 2 star. Next time I'll drive another tenth of a mile and get Taco Bell instead, and if the wife suggests it I'll send her this link. read more

Beer lunch? Why I'd love to! We stopped in here for lunch earlier this week and had a decent meal. The interior is exactly what you would expect from the name, but the cushiony-ness of my chair was an unexpected surprise :) There is parking out front for Irish only... We're not Irish so we didn't park there, I was afraid there'd be some DNA testing or something if you used one of those spots. Food was pretty good - I ordered a Famous One Charlie Brown style (Burger with swiss and bacon) It was a good burger and adequately filling. The menu had it's fair share of other sandwiches, salads and entree like items. The only negative I might add is that the beer prices were steep... Way steep. I went to Brady's with a friend when we noticed that because of the holiday, Tavern on 13 was closed. I was pleasantly surprised. Don't let the true tavern decor fool you, Brady's serves up some great classics that won't break the bank. I enjoyed a garden burger with sweet potato fries (served with honey mustard) and a diet coke for like $12. Overall the service was great, waitstaff really nice, food was good, and it was inexpensive (and open on New Year's Day!), I would definitely recommend Brady's to a friend. read more

Had dinner here a few nights ago. We were in the mood for burgers and had not yet tried this place so off we went. We were seated at a high-top, which typically I don't like, but the chairs were very comfortable - so much so that my companion mentioned it twice. Our waitress was very friendly and provided some honest advice. They have two types of onion rings - I believe the menu divides them up into thin and gourmet thick. We were considering a half order of each to figure out which one we liked better. She advised that the thin are the house-made ones and that a half order would be enough for two. We ordered these - I would classify them as onion strings, rather than rings. However, they were well-seasoned and thus tasty. We did polish off the entire half order i.e. it might be enough for two, but not enough for three. We each ordered the Famous One. FYI - it is just what they call their burger i.e. there isn't any special sauce or anything... which we were happy about. It is a 1/2 pound burger with lettuce, tomato, pickles and raw onion. Bun is good. Burger nice and juicy. Could have been a little better seasoned, but the onion strings made up for the lack of salt. Lettuce was crisp and fresh i.e. not like some places where you are scared by the green stuff. One of us ordered sauteed mushrooms on our burger for 99 cents more - they were okay, nothing special, but nothing bad. I believe the burger was $7.19 if my memory serves me right. Restaurant is smoke free as of this past summer according to a sign. I had two flat screen tvs in view. Our biggest complaint was the tiny straw for the water - when you are complaining about the straw, you know you had a good meal. A good place for a burger. read more

Brady's is a good, reliable local restaurant and bar. I can't count the number of times over the past 20-ish years my parents and I have come here for a casual last-minute dinner. My usual order involves chili, either their regular variety or chicken, and a sandwich or salad. Food isn't gourmet, but it is tasty for the most part. My family's favorites are the turkey Reuben, the famous one, and the Maurice salad. The fried pickles are spears, not chips, which is a bit different than the normal fried pickle order at restaurants. The cookies and ice cream dessert is okay, not awesome, but will satisfy a dessert craving. Given I'm not a drinker, I can't give any personal recommendations for alcoholic beverages, but I do know that they come to the table quite strong. I greatly enjoy Quizzo on Saturday evenings. Getting a table requires coming a bit early, maybe around 8:30 or so, but I think it's worth the effort. I do have a couple of issues with Brady's, though. The food is quite expensive. Full-size salads and burgers cost more than $10, more than you would expect for both this kind of place and the quality of food, which as I mentioned earlier is tasty but certainly not gourmet. I went here with Bubba for lunch yesterday. I was told by someone to try the "Famous One" burger. Charlie-Brown style with swiss and bacon. It was rated the 3rd best burger in Detroit. It was a pretty good burger. It didn't blow my mind though. Then again it's hard to make a remarkable and unique burger. It's a rare occasion for me to have a truly awful burger. Their wings are pretty solid. I've been here the past two Thursdays to try them. They advertise them as "fall off the bone" and they literally fall off the bone. They're quite good. I tried the plain (smoked) and the buffalo. Both are very good and they have solid ranch dressing to accompany the wings. We also tried the grilled chicken strips appetizer both times. The first time they were really good, the second time not as good. I think we got an "old" chicken as it had a chewy and spongy texture. It was a little off-putting, but I still think I'd give them another try. Good happy hour specials. Parking lot is a cluster. Decent atmosphere with a nice bar area and a solid amount of restaurant-style seating. Prices are moderate, but the wings are worth every penny. I've been visiting Brady's more frequently of rate, and my previous assessment stands. If anything, I am more inclined to bump them up to four stars. They've recently added a few new items to their menu, and so far all of the fresh offerings have been a hit for me. Items of note include a "Dagwood" deli sandwich inspired by the newspaper funny strip "Blondie," a ground chicken burger that is surprisingly juicy and flavorful, and an amped-up version of their grilled cheese appropriately dubbed "Grilled Cheese Deluxe." That last one may sound underwhelming, but I encourage you to think again. You can load it up with all kinds of add-ons like avocado, grilled onion, tomato, bacon, and even ham/turkey/pastrami/bleu cheese if you like. read more

One of my Gma's favorites spots-- and not because Matt (my friend who she thinks is ADORABLE and refers to her boyfriend) used to work there! They are known for their burgers. They proudly boast that they have the "Famous One," which was voted 3rd best in Detroit. Nothing wrong with a Bronze medal I suppose. Ordering your burger Charlie Brown style ( Bacon and Swiss) is quite popular here... except due to my aversion to swiss cheese I tend to shy away from it. Their french fries are phenomenal-- real crispy, yet not burned. The last few times I have been here it seems like they are struggling to find the "perfect temperature" on the thermostat because it ranges from ICE cold to uncomfortably warm. read more

Went here for lunch today with a dear friend. Although I've been here before, I've yet to review this nice neighborhood tavern. On our visit today we were promptly seated and greeted by our wonderful waitress Sheila. She informed us that all burgers were a dollar less because beef prices had dropped, ironic, as many reviews state how pricy this place is. I had the patty melt with fries and my friend had the soup in a bread bowl. My patty melt was outstanding!!! Perfectly cooked with nice crispy bread. Yummy!!! As for my friend's soup, he loved his as well. Got the bill and hit the road in no time at all. If I was a person on a limited time lunch, this would be the place to go. Loved the neighborhood atmosphere of this place. Dark without being too biker. I noticed a couple of families. Overall we liked the food. I thought the portions were small for the price. I left wanting a dessert or something which is not what I usually think when I'm leaving a bar. Very disappointed with the drinks. We paid $6.70 for each drink and I could not really taste the alcohol. Maybe I'm spoiled but for almost $7, if I have a drink on an empty stomach I expect to feel it a little. Being a pub, Brady's isn't necessarily the first place I think of to go get dinner, but whenever I wind up there, I always walk away satisfied. I usually get a burger of some variety (the famous one, the famous one "even leaner" with angus beef, the turkey burger and the veggie burger have all been great). Fries and onion rings are also delicious. I haven't strayed too far from these staples on the menu, but my dining partners have all been very satisfied with their choices as well. The atmosphere is kind of dark and quiet most of the time. Brady's caters to a pretty good mix of the local populous, and is a good destination for someone wanting to sit at the bar, to an extended family with kids. The wait staff is also friendly and, in my experience, have always been quick and accurate. I seem to be "winding up" there more and more often these days... read more

I feel that this review needs to be updated. Now that smoking is banned in Michigan, Brady's is far less sticky and smells much nicer The staff is generally pretty friendly and the food is ok. However, the menu could use some updating. They have one item that is unusual and absolutely delicious. The Reuben Egg Roll is one of the best things I have tasted in Michigan. It's a bar, so there's bar food, lot's of fried stuff, burgers, sandwiches, fries, etc. They do have salads, so I had a salad and a Corona...LOL Dark inside, lots of TV's playing sports, rock music in the background...clean bathrooms and plenty of parking. I came to Brady's for Lunch with two coworkers on a Wednesday during the work week. Neither of us had been to Brady's before but the reviews were mostly favorable, so we decided to try it out for lunch! I am very pleased we went. Although the inside was kind of dimly lit, the service and the food were wonderful. Our server was Jeanie (I hope I spelled that right) and although it seemed she was maintaining the majority of customers on her own (on the floor and behind the bar) it didn't affect the service, she was absolutely wonderful. Her recommendations were spot on (We had the burger lunch special and a Caesar salad) and she was quick to bring us extra lemons, water, and our tab at the end. This will definitely not be our last visit to Brady's. I would recommend this place to anyone working in the area and looking for a solid lunch spot. :) read more

I've been coming to Brady's for a few years now. It's a cute little Irish Pub - every neighborhood has one. Except this one has food that's homemade and not delivered on a truck from GFS, and service that's far better than your average casual dining place. I've been a restaurant manager at some of the best restaurants in Ann Arbor and Chicago and I can tell this place takes real pride in their food. The turkey reuben is the best I've ever had and you probably have to go to Texas to find better chili. As for service, it doesn't have to be formal to rival fine dining - Jeannie at the bar truly goes the extra mile for her guests and so does Erica in the dining room. Used to eat here all the time many years ago with my family and loved it. I was shocked at how bad the place has become. The table and silverware was not clean when we were seated. The hostess was apathetic and not paying attention and the waitress was worse. Incredibly, the food was worse than the waitress! After all rated #2 in Beverly Hills. These reviews are wrong!! The menu is very small, over priced and the food is not good at all!! Ordered the $5.50 Truffle fries, not impressed at all. Very small amount and strange taste, not what I expected. I ordered the Michigan salad, it was all iceberg lettuce, should be spring mix. Salad had the tiniest apple pieces. The food is good but not spectacular and I feel like the prices demand spectacular. The burgers are super solid and the Garbage Salad is something that is hard to argue with but, again, it just comes down to value for me. I've tried it here a few times and they can't seem to get it right! Let's be honest here. Very over priced, dark gloomy place, greasy spoon place. The desperation for reviews on social media seems to be there thing, as I learned. Jackie "the server" or I think she was anyways, was rude and we barely seen her. Everyone else seemed to be doing her work. Even the poor girl that brought our food and was out of breath seemed over the idea of helping Jackie as she stated "this is an all the time thing". And all we did was ask where she was. She would appear to tables to drop off check and offer each table a free carrot cake for them to write a good review. Which I'm assuming works, because I see people have written good things on here about her ( a huge joke )! So if bribing your customers for good reviews is what a terrible establishment does than so be it. I won't return and I won't say nice things about this place. Over served people at bar, workers laughing about it, and seeing workers in and out back streaming through smelling like an ashtray. A male server walking through dining room eating. I could go on and on. Eat here at your own risk. Update The owner finds it ok to leave Snarky comments instead of listening to the customer! We had a great experience dining in at Brady's recently. The food was excellent and our server Jackie was FANTASTIC (I seriously cannot say enough good things about her, she was amazing). Three of us had Reubens and agreed that it was an excellent reuben, and the homemade potato chips are delicious. They have so many great options on their menu and one of the best parts was that they served their beer in frosted pint glasses. We will definitely return soon! read more

Down and up and down again...this is one of the closest bars to home. We REALLY want to love it, and we did for a short timespan. We discovered their happy hour, LOVED their wings and the value. Well, forget about that. Wings used to be half off ($5) and you got 10 wings in an order. That brought us in every Thursday. Suddenly the order size changed to 8 wings, but that was still a deal.
