I have gone to Von for years, she is fast, and professional. I am the worst client I don't talk much, I'll read and or catch up on Hulu, or I am always falling asleep, she has gentle hands, l love it and I can pretty much lay down at night. I love the way my hair smells when I leave. She is worth every dollar I spend. I don't have breakage and when I say I am the best and worst client she gets on me I wear a silk cap every night but I have left my individuals in for 8 months 1 year ( not recommended) and still got compliments. I really take care of my braids they are very neatly done. Both of the ladies are very skilled. But Von is on pointe with those individuals.

Been coming here for a while to get diff types of braids done... dealt with the unprofessionalism because the work was so good. But it got too bad and I had to take me business elsewhere. I was left one time at the shop by myself for an hour and a half in the middle of doing my hair while the owner (Theresa) went to her house to go deal with some cops situation! I've NEVER been seated right away at my appointment time and I'm always waiting long. And the last straw was when I recently made an appointment 2 WEEKS in advance for her to cancel on me 2 days prior bc what I wanted was gonna "take too long" and she likes to do "small individuals in the morning". It's a ghetto shop as well! Always cussing and smells of weed, just not how business should be handled.. Will definitely NOT be returning. They've lost my business and I've even referred people to her... it's a shame! read more

Got my hair braided here by Rene. I appreciate the fact that she took me in last minute, i explained over the phone what i wanted and how long my hair was she gave me a quote of $35. But I was charged $50 at shop once she was done for an effortness and sloopy job. All i wanted were two simple braids on each side. It took her less then 30 mins and she brushed up any loose hair with extra gel which made it look sloopy and bumpy. Not to mention couldn't even fix my baby hairs up front. I over paid on the effort and tipped her as well $10. The tip was just for taking me in last min. I dont like drama so i didn't make a deal about it. But I would never go there again. I walked around with family and friends asking who did my hair cause it was bad... so I ended up just take braids out. read more

I've had 7 different people braid my hair, at several other places. All of them either did not do a good job, started doing sloppy work, or wouldn't want to do simple braids anymore. I even had one person attempt to cut fly aways and ended up cutting my actual bangs. When I took out my braids and noticed my bangs about 2 inches long, I cried. I found The Braid Factory on Yelp and I'm so glad I did! I've seen Theresa twice and have left happy every time. I'm a little OCD about things but she did a perfect job. My braids were super tight and done evenly. They looked fresh up until I decided to take them out. I was in and out quickly, without long waits. I definitely recommend Theresa and The Braid Factory. This is the only person I will let braid my hair from now on. read more

I stalked this place waiting for my hair to grow long enough. Walked in to make an appt and the stylist offered to braid that evening...score! The salon is neat and the ladies are friendly. Seems they are all related and all had clients in the chair . Of course I looked around when I could and all the styles being completed were nice individuals, full weave- I got French braids and the are so neat! Renee did mine and she checked with me throughout to ensure I liked her work. Price is cool and I much rather go to a salon than someone's house filled with chaos...we've all been there! Anyway go check them out! read more

I'm not usually the one to leave a comment on Yelp but comming to this place was a total disaster. They didn't want to help me and looked at me in disgust. I tried to show her a picture of the type of braid I wanted and she just had a nasty look on her face. I just felt the vibe that they didn't want me there. Totally disappointed. read more

This place is amazing! They do Braids and Weaves. What I like about this shop is my hair grows. This is a Family shop. They do not gossip, they just make you look beautiful ! All nationalities are welcomed here. Theresa, the owner does my hair. However, anyone of her sister's or cousin can do your hair. read more

Von is amazing. she is a fast braided I got pencil sized individuals and it only took her four hours. My braids lasted for 3 months even after washing them ever two weeks! Thank you Von! read more

I was told about The Braid Factory through a friend. I was looking for a place to get my daughters hair braided. This was about 3 years ago. I met with Renee (stylist) and liked her personality. She along with the other ladies in the shop is very friendly and don't talk about people and spread gossip about other people. I paid $150 to get my daughters hair braided but it definitely was worth the money. My daughters new-growth grew out with in 3 months but the braids looked new and tight. I was pleased with the work. I started getting my hair braided by Renee and have no issues with getting an appointment. She is fast and does an excellent job. I also met with Theresa to get a weave done. It was my first weave and I must say I was nervous. I was given a place to get the weave hair and it was good hair and Theresa did a GREAT job. I got a lot of complements on the weave. I will continue to go to the BRAID FACTORY...I have been going for the last 3 years. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME GOING ELSEWHERE. YOU WILL DEFINITELY BE HAPPY... GO TO THE BRAID FACTORY. I am an actual customer...Got to go make an appointment now. read more

In the past, other hairstylists have told me they understood what I wanted, only for the results to be disappointing. The hair washing was relaxing and comforting. The haircut and blow-drying probably took only about 15-20 minutes. I was surprised and so happy when I saw the result! My hair was at an awkward length--just above my shoulders. It had very little shape and tended to curl outward. But with just a little trimming and styling, the transformation was amazing. Although it didn't feel like much hair was actually cut, I looked so much more refreshed and vibrant. I waited until the next day morning, after washing my hair the night before, to see if I could actually manage the style on my own. And yes--I could, with very little time. I was very pleased with how easy it was to style, and I even received compliments from my friends. No regrets at all about this haircut! Thank you so much! I'll definitely be back.

I left briefly and came back at 3:15 pm, but he was still with the same client. A professional would have communicated a delay and respected the client's time. By 3:21 pm, when I decided to leave, he was still styling her hair with no end in sight. Meanwhile, another employee attempted to divert me by offering a shampoo. She handed me a robe that was far too small and insisted I wear it, even though I explained I didn't mind hair falling on my clothes since I was going to the gym afterward. I also mentioned my long drive, and she responded with an insincere comment about how "beautiful" the 91 freeway is--something that felt dismissive and patronizing. As she led me to the shampoo area, she rolled her eyes and made faces to a coworker. At that point, I stood up, told her not to make faces, and informed the stylist I was canceling my appointment. The entire atmosphere felt unprofessional and immature--more like a schoolyard than a salon. There was no customer service, no apology, and no manager present to address the situation. I genuinely feel bad for the salon owner, who may not even be aware of how poorly NEW clients are being treated.

I walk in and the owner said she waited all day for you! Which was not true. I asked if she could contact the woman and she said she's gone. There was no offer to call another braided or anything to help me. After a couple of minutes I walked out to my call and the chick who was supposed to do my hair had been sitting in the car next to me the whole effing time! I then recalled how this shop was so familiar to me and that's when it hit me! I had been here in the past (10+ years) and received similar crappy customer service. The owner is borderline rude, blasé, unprofessional and has no semblance of what customer service is. My guess is that she has only been able to stay open this long because of her location, her friends and family and what regulars she has on top of collecting booth rent from other braiders.

I arrived on time, but there was no one at the front desk, and a few stylists assumed I was a walk-in. The stylist who was supposed to do my pixie cut was still with another client, blow-drying her sopping wet bob-length hair, and didn't acknowledge me for quite a while. When he finally did, he said he would be finished in 15 minutes. I told him if it would take longer, I would rather not wait, especially since I had driven 35 minutes from Orange County (one way). I left briefly and came back at 3:15 pm, but he was still with the same client. A professional would have communicated a delay and respected the client's time. By 3:21 pm, when I decided to leave, he was still styling her hair with no end in sight. Meanwhile, another employee attempted to divert me by offering a shampoo. She handed me a robe that was far too small and insisted I wear it, even though I explained I didn't mind hair falling on my clothes since I was going to the gym afterward. I also mentioned my long drive, and she responded with an insincere comment about how "beautiful" the 91 freeway is--something that felt dismissive and patronizing. As she led me to the shampoo area, she rolled her eyes and made faces to a coworker. At that point, I stood up, told her not to make faces, and informed the stylist I was canceling my appointment. The entire atmosphere felt unprofessional and immature--more like a schoolyard than a salon. There was no customer service, no apology, and no manager present to address the situation. I genuinely feel bad for the salon owner, who may not even be aware of how poorly NEW clients are being treated.
