The ice cream tastes decent. It's about $7.50 for a small cup of ice cream. This is including tax and tip. Inside of the establishment is not that inviting. It doesn't look like anybody really takes care of the place. It's not that clean. The chairs are flimsy. There is very little decoration. Also there is possible cross-contamination. If you notice the ice cream scooper, it gets rinsed in a container, not in a running water. For those who have severe allergies, this is a absolute No-No. Also, there is no idea how old the ice cream is. Respectable ice cream establishments make new batch everyday. I come here often with family and can't stand when the owner himself takes our order since he very clearly doesn't understand the basic fundamentals of customer service. He's extremely condescending every single time, especially to my mother, so no thanks. We were ignored and had backs to us the majority of our process in ordering... when the place was empty. Alright, anyone that knows me knows that I love ice cream--I don't care if it's zero degrees or 100, I'm eating it. My boyfriend and I wanted to try a new spot and decided to give BrainFreeze a shot since it's fairly close to home. We had some difficulty getting into the parking lot due to weird sign placement, but we ended up finding a spot easily. We walked up to the storefront, only to discover that they were doing drive-thru only. Back to the car we went and around the small strip to find the path to the drive-thru. Finally, we pull up to the menu which is awkwardly placed high on a wall so that no sedan can comfortably browse it. I was trying to crane my neck to view the menu but to no avail, so we went with their Reese's vanilla cups. It was quite delicious, the ice cream was smooth and had a perfect ratio to the candy. Do you want to know the best part about this store? THEY HAVE A DRIVE THRU. Now, keep in mind in the middle of a health crisis, there are times when the line is wrapped around the building. However, I am more than happy to wait because of the ice cream and the service. The owner and his employees are hard working. They are also very polite, even with a long line of cars. Forget going the nearby Dairy Queen. I was not disappointed. Plenty of flavors, nice big area. You have your choices of wafer cones, waffle cones, you can even make ice cream sandwiches. My go to flavor when it comes to deciding if I like an ice cream spot is pistachio. Their small cone is a lot, two scoops on top, and I couldn't complain. Figured this was just a regular ice cream place, but the variety in flavors is fairly expansive. Came here on a Saturday night with two friends and this place was BUSY! I ordered the sea salt caramel pretzel ice cream with peanut butter sauce in a chocolate dipped waffle bowl, my friend ordered a plain vanilla soft serve on a cone, and my other friend ordered cookies and cream ice cream in a medium cup. They are VERY generous with their scoops here, but the price makes up for it. The medium bowl probably came with 4-4.5 scoops of ice cream, and mine came with about 3 scoops. They also have Cookie Monster ice cream, and the only other place I know that has that is Benny's in Fair Lawn! There was a table in the corner we could use with two chairs so we simply asked them to borrow 2 more chairs from the reserved tables until their party arrived. The young lady's tone couldn't have been more rude, told us "that's how it's always been you aren't allowed to use them because we need to have it set up in the event people come early" then walked away. Now, may I remind you the party was at 5pm, and we came in at 3pm and were happy to turn the chairs over when the party arrived. I ordered a sundae for my kid and a brownie sundae for me. The ice cream was not bad but OMFG amazing either, average to me. When I order a brownie sundae I'm thinking I'm getting a brownie with ice cream, I was disappointed when I realized I got a cup of ice cream with Oreos and these candy type pieces of brownies that weren't that great. If I was in a pinch for an ice cream cone I'd probably try something else but IMO there's just better places to spend your money for an ice cream fix. read more
