Haven't been to Tulare in a few months and the front desk at my hotel recommended I try the 'new place' barely a block away. I'm glad I did. The restaurant is very elegant and well laid out. Placeware and cutlery are high end and the tables are well presented. I got a small two seater table for myself. It was busy and there was a good vibe without being too noisy. The crowd was mixed with a wide range from young to older customers. Saw a three generation family out to dinner along with couples looking for a romantic meal. The hostess, Angela, was wonderful, as was her colleague, Rebekah. I was sat quickly and taken care of. My server, Gwen, was on the ball and knew the menu and options. I went straight for the ribeye. The steak was cooked perfectly for me and the mash and broccoli were cooked just right. Only (constructive) critique I had was the mushroom sauce pretty much buried the steak. I'd prefer a gravy boat or small tureen on the side so I can add sauce myself. You can add to your taste but once it's poured on you can't take it off. Plus, it's nice to see the whole steak so you know how to attack it. The sauce was delicious. Bread pudding was a great way to finish it off. Not too dense with quality vanilla ice cream on top. Along with a cup of their California roasted IW Coffee in a French press I was all set for the night. I had a lovely conversation on the way out with Angela and Rebekah (it was quiet by then so we had a few minutes) with a smattering of Spanish and Portuguese thrown in so I could practice. All in all a good outing and, not to disparage Tulare, an elegant surprise for the area which hosts many chains and more moderate type places. It is on the pricey side but that didn't deter the crowds and I don't mind paying for great ambience and a quality experience. Braised would not be out of place in downtown San Francisco or Los Angeles. It's that good. Next time I'm in town it will definitely be on my list. read more

Horrible. Came in with a party. Food took 2 hours to get to us. Chicken came out pink. They took it back to try to cook it more and my food NEVER CAME BACK. The space was beautiful but the service was lacking. Walked through the restaurant and no on hd their food. Awful experience. Don't recommend. read more

The food was delicious, we had the bone marrow and empanadas staters and they were so good. My kids had the cheese pizza which was so fluffy and savory, it was so good that I wish they were a pizzeria! I had the ribeye and it was cooked perfectly to my liking. My wife and mother in law both had the pasta & they rated their dishes a 10/10. We had many different deserts and they did not fail to impress. Finally visited for the first time for my friends birthday. It was an amazing! My friend has a gluten intolerance which this is the perfect place for her. I had the pasta which was amazing and also gluten-free, which I couldn't even tell. All the desserts were also gluten-free and amazing again I had no idea they were gluten-free. The restaurant is in kind of a funny location, but the moment you walk in the doors, you feel like you're in a very upscale homey downtown spot. read more

After enjoying their food truck my wife and I could not wait to try the restaurant and reserved our spot for our anniversary the moment it opened on the open table app. We showed up and we're immediately seated. We had the surf and turf and empanada appetizer and they were both killer. For the main course we had the Chilean sea bass and Denver steak with the Madeira mushroom and cannot recommend it enough. This restaurant is exactly what Tulare has been needing. Incredibly happy we no longer have to drive 30-40 minutes for a good meal. We had the braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and the ribeye with red wine sauce and brussel sprouts. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! The hand crafted coctails were very refreshing and i was told they use fresh squeezed juice for all their mixers. They have only been open a week and already seem to be the talk of the town. Went there for a birthday dinner, got there and they sat us at the bar area with the whole restaurant available. It was really loud. Asian guy who was our server I think, I'm not sure he never said nothing ... never refilled our drinks after waiting a long time to take our order. Finally just paid for the drinks and left and they never asked if anything was wrong. What poor service.... Everything was very disappointing. Not ever coming here again sorry .. read more

Had it at barrel house wasn't worth the money. The bowl had a little bit of pulled pork ( some of which wasn't pulled apart) and it was on top of cold beans and cold corn. Definitely not worth the 12.50 read more

I think they're in a little over their head. I just left the restaurant with a good sized party. We made prior reservations & had a pre designated menu, so they knew we were coming. Took 2 hrs in 15 mins to get our food. Waitress hardly came in the check on us as many of us wanted to order appetizers & additional food & drinks. We were told by waitress to go to bar to order drinks. We did that & got a snappy response at the bar from the owner (learned he was owner later). So we went back to the table with no drinks to wait another 20 mins for waitress to come back so we can let her know we couldn't get our drinks at the bar. Food came out finally and the chicken was under cooked. Multiple plates sent back & only half ever got returned to table. We were compensated for the missing chicken which was cool. But we wanted to eat!! My husband & I got 2 vegan plates, very simple quinoa & light veggies & 1 whiskey. Bill was $99. We don't mind paying for good food but all things considered, this was not a $100 experience. I'm glad you guys now have a spot after being at the farmers market but you gotta make sure you're ready for the business if you want to stay in business. read more
