What can I say about this place? The decor looks like you're walking into a friend's well decorated home, so it feels nice and cozy. Some of the tables are a little too close together for my comfort, but the place looks great overall. The staff are super polite and attentive. The first time I went here they were a little slow, but it was their first week so I came back the following week for another go. And they continue to improve. Well done! Now let's get to the food. The food is delicious. I've tried the short ribs and the special which was chilean seabass. We also had a picanha steak. All of it was cooked well, super flavorful and beautifully plated. For appetizers we had the empanadas and the surf and turf. Again, amazing! The crust of the empanadas was super thin and flaky and each filling was well portioned and well seasoned. Lastly, drinks. We didn't drink alcohol, but they were able to make a delicious mocktails from their regular menu: Berry Little Thyme, which was amazing. And for beer drinkers they do carry the non-alcoholic Heineken 0.0. This place is definitely a must try! read more

We popped in to give Braised a try. Such a lovely spot, decorated so nice and comfy. The staff very attentive. The dishes were all delectable. The little rolls they start you off with.. yum yum. My new fav night out restaurant/bar and so excited they are in our sweet town of Tulare! Love the menu options, decor/layout, quality of food, service and everyone we encountered were soooo nice. It was such a pleasant evening with delishous food and drinks. Yes, it's a bit pricey but I don't mind paying for a classy alternative in our city. We had the Salmon Cerviche to start. (Appetizer special). Really great flavor and nice summertime addition. Then we split the Beet Salad w/goat cheese and the Lamb Lollypops. The salad had a generous portion of beets and the dressing was spot on. I could have used a bit more goat cheese but it could be that I'm obsessed with goat cheese. I'll ask for more next time. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the had a really yummy crunchy coating. We decided on the Strawberry Fizz for our cocktail and it did not disappoint. Was shocked and amazed that this quality establishment is in Tulare. Started with a strawberries and cream margarita that was just the right blend of sweet and fresh. My wife had the gluten free onion rings and fish and was in heaven. It's very hard to find good gluten free fried food and this set new standard. Tonight we came in after talking with more than 10 others about their experiences in which we were aware the experience will be hit-or-miss. Our experience was good until the waiter spilled a cup of ketchup all over my buddy as we received our dinner plate. As per "standard operating procedure" they comped his meal and gave the rest of the table a round of beers. Traveling back home from Las Vegas and we came across this restaurant online although at the time we couldn't tell that it was a higher end establishment so we felt guilty for coming in basically in sweatpants and hoodies. Came here for our anniversary. The service was great, everyone was friendly and wished us a happy anniversary. The food came out hot and delicious. We started with the bone marrow, I had the braised burger with sweet potato fries and it was so good. Wife got the butternut squash ravioli and we finished with the apple cobbler. The restaurant itself is beautiful, seats are a bit close together but we went early so we had plenty of space. Definitely recommend trying this place out! read more

I really wanted to like this place since we don't really have a nice place to eat in tulare. Well I was very disappointed. We ordered onion rings and bone marrow, the onion rings kept falling apart before we even took a bit and flavor was lacking. The bone marrow (which I was really excited about) was just ok. I had the pork chop and it was very dry, very hard to cut. For dessert we shared the bread pudding which was also very dry...don't think I'll be going back, unfortunately. We came here for our valentines dinner 2/18 and by far this is the worst service we have ever received. Took us over 20 min to get drinks, where the waitress was rude. The food took over 45, which I got the bison burger. Bland & the sweet potato fries had as much Salt as a salt shaker. She got the mushroom pasta and it was also bland w/ no salt. Needless to say, the service was terrible and the food was to match. We were so close to the couples next to us I could hear them smack their food. Do not recommend. read more

Was looking forward to the French onion soup, but it was inedible. I have never tasted that amount of salt in any soup or food before. I kept hearing good things and made a reservation. We were told there would be a wait when we checked in. The atmosphere and decor were really nice. The waitress was lovely and attentive, as were the runners and bussers. I ordered the ribeye medium rare without sauce (a $56 steak shouldn't need a sauce in my book). I could hardly taste the steak as it was so overpowered by the bacon fat it was seared in. The same was true of my husband's burger. The sear was nice on my steak, but the steak wasn't thick enough and ended up incredibly tough. The mashed potatoes were well seasoned but hard and dry. The asparagus was so thin, the woody ends were not all trimmed, and it had an overwhelming, bitter garlic flavor. For a $56 entrée, I expect more attention to detail. We shared a cobbler which came out on a cast iron skillet on a stone and wood tray. Beautiful presentation, but is was all for show. The cobbler was lukewarm, did not taste fresh and was over cooked, making it gummy and hard to cut through with our utensils. We finally gave up. I touched the cast iron after my first bite and it wasn't even warm. We were also seated in a room with three large parties, two of which were shouting back and forth at each other throughout our dinner, as they clearly knew each other. This made it feel more like the bar at Vejar's than it did a finer dining establishment. None of the staff asked them to keep it down for the other guests. If it wasn't for our wonderful server/support staff, good wine and the focaccia, I would have given one star for the experience. Not sure we will be back anytime soon. I hope the management tackles these issues as I would love to have another good option in Tulare. read more
