I'm new to the area and was in need of an oil change. I get nervous about trying out new auto places because of a previous bad experience. But I called Brake Masters and asked if they had an opening for an oil change. After receiving the go-ahead, I drove on down and was greeted warmly in the office by the staff. I opted to wait inside while the work was done (it was in the 110s that day). Super spacious waiting area with a nice amount of chairs and a big screen TV that was playing Big Bang Theory, and most importantly, a working A/C! An episode or so later, and my car was done! :) They also secured my car's heat shield (per my request) that had come loose and was rattling, and they didn't charge me an arm and a leg! My brother has done to brake masters and recommended I go. I had to get three services done, rotors, oil change and a wheel alignment. I had originally gone in to make an appointment but they were able to take me right there and then which was great. Customer service was really great! I had gone to Costco a few months prior for a balance and heard a flapping noise that went away, the man doing my alignment caught the noise again and they were able to tell me what it was. Due to them not balancing tires they were able to do it. But so thankful they were able to tell me what it was. And with the explanation Costco was able to fix that problem I had. The teams amazing. I went shortly before closing, and they were still very accommodating of me. Staff was very nice and friendly. They honored my oil change coupon without any issues. The wait was a bit longer than I would have expected for an oil change, but I just walked a few blocks to the Galleria Mall to kill the time. They didn't try offering me unnecessary upgrades and replacements as many other place tend to, so I was very happy with that. When I left my car was running like new. After the people at Brake masters told me my lower a arm bushings were bad. Wanted to charge me 1240.00 to replace before van could be aligned.Took it to my family mechanic he aligned the van with no problem. And told me the bushings were fine actually in good shape. Took my car in to get an alignment done because apparently discount tires don't do alignments so went to brake masters to get it done they told me they couldn't do it my car was messed up underneath and it would be a 4 grand fix so i took it to the dealership to get it looked at and they said it's fine there's just two different size rims on my car from when I got them switched out at discount tires so that only cost me a $120 vs the 4 grand brake masters said it was going to cost me so overall either they are just terrible or the two people working on my car just didn't know what they were talking about read more

I went to break masters to see about a tune-up and oil change. They were able to get me in and Tony Guerrero ( the manager ) told me what i needed and checked on prices, got me quote on what i needed and let me choose the services. He also shown me how he cares about the customers.. He walked me throughout my car and ended up needing new brakes after a year getting them done. Ive had lots of oil changes and not one put a new air filter in for the cabin.. Ive had the car for 5 years and over 57,000 miles... Have been coming here since it opened and it was great at first, however now this place is absolute trash. Had front brakes done and roters resurfaced . 5k miles later, I take my car in to have rear brakes checked. They tell me that I need new front brakes and rotors as well as rear brakes. The quoted me $650 for rear brakes. They did not care that they just did the front breaks 5k miles ago. Had to get a hold of corporate and the area manager who had me go to another location, they replaced the front brakes and rotors for free. They also gave me a quote of $450 for my rear brakes. I used to love this place however, my engine light went on and had it fixed here 3 times already. They said it was not so serious and it just needed a gas pump change which they did and i paid a couple hundred bucks. Few weeks after engine light went on. Turns out there was a major leak and paid another 300 plus to have it fixed. Now engine is still on and my car failed the smog test coz there was still a leak!!! Never going back! read more

I had a recommendation to Brake Masters on Marks Street from my tire dealer, and i made an appointment for a front end brake job. During the job, they apparently checked my fluid levels and filters, and found that i needed a new air and cabin filter. i had them do the install, and after a delay in getting parts for my brakes (not sure how That happened, as I had an appointment, and they Knew my year make and model), my car was done and i was on my way. Driving home, however, my cabin air flow seemed more restricted than it was before I went in. Since I had an appointment with my car dealer to replace a latch on my center console, i decided to ask them to inspect the cabin filter. The dealer found that the Brake Masters cabin filter had been installed incorrectly; it was jammed in and didn't seem to fit. I paid for a new filter from the dealer and took the defective part to Brake Masters. The manager politely refused a refund, as the part number they had for my car matched the filter installed. He made no mention of the shotty install, but he offered to apply a credit to my next appointment down the road. I refused, as i do not want to take another chance of one of their "specialists" messing up a simple install on my car again. I will not be back. read more

I had my front shocks.replaced. After which vehicle had bad vibration with slightest small bump. Returned vehicle and was told loose bushing at top of shock and was repaired, not so same proble met with manager and was told that lower control arms were the problem. After installation and $3000 payment, same issue, and air bag light illuminated. Was told they didnt break anything and would cost $400 to repair. So after $4400 payout, same problem. Was then told that problem was rear shocks should be replaced as well to balance ride. That was the end. Met with manager and was credited $150, thats why one star was given..Buyer Beware at this shop!! read more

INSANELY GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Alex up at the front desk was so nice and the whole team is so honest. I took my car to Silver State and they were gonna charge me $700 for a brake job that was bogus. Brake Masters and another shop confirmed nothing was wrong with brakes. No charge and they kept my car til I could pick it up. Always will be a repeat customer. If you look at my Yelp reviews you'll see that I give mostly good reviews however, this is not. I took my daughter's car here because the brake lights would not come on. I explained that if one light was out I knew to change the bulb but all three were out. They told me they could get to it in 30 to 45 min. I saw a few red flags like dirty unswept floors and counters that were dirty but I stayed and told them I was walking over to Lowe's and asked them to call me. When I got back they had my car on a lift and was taking the tires off the car. I asked why and was told that they thought I had a brake problem. I once again explained that my problem was lights and not brakes and was then told that there was only one mechanic doing 4 cars and that it would take a while to get to it because he was hopping from one to another. When I smelled alcohol on the Mechanic's breath I understood what I was dealing with. I told them I would just like to leave and then waited another ten minutes for them to take it off the lift. This whole experience took over an hour. I would NOT suggest this place to anyone. read more

I made an appointment at 7:30 Am for front brake pads replacement, Vehicle was finished at around 12:30 pm, 5 Hours for a simple front brake service is excessive. I talk to the person at the front desk He told me first, they would inspect the front brakes first , to see if new brake pads were required, I did not get a call back until around 9:30am . What a surprise the complete job would be around $380.00. The 2015 Toyota truck with 55000 miles needed recommended services of a brake fluid flush, a new cabin filter, rear brake cleaning and adjustment, when they told me they would just inspect the front brakes, seems excessive. I went with just the front brake repair, I called around 11:00 am truck would be ready at 12:00, Truck was ready at 12:30 pm, Brake Masters does not resurface rotors inhouse, Toyota Tacoma rotors were elongated ?? Maybe that's why it took so long, Even though I was there at 12:00 and that's when they started working on the truck , only 1/2 hour to finished the job, Front brakes work great, But they over filled the brake master cylinder brake fluid was inside the engine compartment. In conclusion , If your ok with recommended repairs the were not requested and if you don't mind waiting a long time , Take your vehicle to Brake Masters read more

My brakes were in bad shape and nowadays I avoid the Kia Dealership like the plague, because, for some reason, dealerships always want to rip me off or overcharge me. I thought of trying Rebel Automotive (based on high yelp reviews) but they only take appointments and wanted to schedule me for the next day. Well, I happened to drive by this Brake Masters and gave it a try. They accept walk-ins and were able to fix my brakes 100% within 2 hours, despite several customers being ahead of me. They had to replace my front pads and rotors but did not need to replace the front calipers (or whatever he said to me). I appreciate honesty and paid $441 which was very reasonable considering I thought other auto shops would charge me in the $700 - $1000 range and would take all day long or multiple days to finish the brake repairs. Honest, efficient service. They really are the "Brake Masters!" They seem to offer many other good auto services as well. I can definitely say if you need your brakes fixed, I highly recommend these automotive masters at this location. My brakes no longer "grind" and work very well. They must use high-quality pads and rotors because my brakes feel brand new. read more

I'm appalled at the customer service I have received. I brought my Cadillac here for a simple oil pan gasket. They used the wrong gasket and admitted it. I was on the freeway and the gasket failed. All my oil spit out and the motor spun a barring. After getting it towed back to them. They tried to tell me the engine was fine. They test drive it and it stalled on their mechanic V. He said he didn't know what was wrong and they would need me to tow it to a specialist. I towed it to the only shop I could find on short notice and after they got it off the tow truck from Brake Masters. They informed me of the motor being toast. When I called Travis the Manager at this location he said. Yeah, I will be able to help you with it, send the quote over to Terry Miller my boss. I contacted them today and Travis said terry won't do anything for you. I am a 2 time combat vet. I served my country for over 5 years and this is my daily driver. They have left me with no vehicle and a $5,000 bill to get my Cadillac back. On top of that I have had to use my disabled mothers car for over a month now just for them to tell me they aren't going to fix what THEY BROKE. Don't bring your vehicles to any one of these locations. They don't care about the people who have defended our country and they will leave you helpless. read more

If you've got all afternoon to sit around, come on in. I made an appointment for wheel alignment on my Jeep for 2PM today. I called the shop at 1:30 PM to find out how backed up they were, and the desk manager said there was one vehicle in the alignment in the bay, I would be next unless someone else got there first. SO MUCH FOR TAKING APPOINTMENTS! I arrived at 1:53PM and there was a vehicle still in alignment. I did the paperwork and sat down. About a half hour later that car left and another truck was brought into the alignment bay. At 3PM I pulled my keys and said I was leaving, my 2PM appointment meaning nothing. Of course, the desk manager said "they were just about ready" to work on my rig. He told me that a typical alignment takes about 45 minutes. FLAT OUT LIED TO ME, it takes much longer to do this work, or they had another vehicle there for several hours waiting on parts. I will never even try to use this business again! read more
