I went in for a quick free brake check. I setup an appointment at 8:30 am and my vehicle wasn't taken to the back until around 9:30 am. The experience was VERY slow. What sped up my process was that I kept asking them for updates on my vehicle. With each time I asked, it seemed like THEN there was progress. There was miscommunication between the guy in front and the guy from the back as one would assure me my vehicle was getting ready for pickup and the other telling me he wasn't aware that I was waiting. I'm sure the service is normally good but my experience wasn't on this occasion. I ended up leaving at 11:56 AM. If you don't mind waiting for a while, check them out. Some were okay with the wait. Others were complaining while I was there. --------- Edit: I found out that I was being charged about $700 more with this place than the dealership. But after some suspension work to my 88.5 Suzuki Samurai I dropped it off there for an alignment. They got everything lined up nice. When I dropped off my car the engine was running a little rough. I got there an hour before they closed and I was worried they wouldn't have enough time to fix problem before they closed. As soon as I pulled in they said it sounds like you have a rock stuck in there. They immediately took my tire off and sure enough it was a rock stuck in the metal part of the tire and they showed it to me. Went to this place today to get some work redone that was done back in late June by another shop. Other shop told me my brakes are fine & I'm safe to drive it now since they bleed my breaks because that's all it needed. Brakemasters told me today your pads, rotors & master cylinder is bad that's why your pedal hits the floor. They showed me the rotors & pads and I was not really surprised that other shop told me I'm ok. My rotors & breaks are in terrible shape and I almost hit a car I told Breakmasters. They replaced everything and now my truck stops like it should and I feel safe enough to have the 3 kids in now. I can't believe the other shop would tell me I'm safe to drive truck the way it is and let me leave. The other shop took my $ and didn't care if I killed anyone. I would recommend this place, they worked with me on cost and very polite. Raymond, Gabriel & Jesus are very polite but Raymond is a Awsome person to explain issues and cost. I wanted and oil change so I was expecting to wait a little but not that long. they were packed so I had to sit outside in the heat. 2 hours later guy comes out to me and said my filters need replacing, that's expected. I said fine how long will it take. 10 minutes. No it took 30 more mintues in the heat. The man at the front was nice enough. But the service was just so slow, I should have gone to the dealer where there's plenty of seats, free drinks and a multipoint inspection that's actually informative . :( read more

My truck had 3 problems: 1. wobbling on the front (tires are brand new all four) 2. Cloacking noise upon taken off or stopping 3.Break light flashing on dash board So I took it to Break Masters and left it there for a diagnostic and they give it to me on writing. Control arms upper and lower Both sides Over $2,000.00 When they were done the truck was still the same and nothing had been fixed, they took my truck to "another sister shop" according to them and the drive shaft or something was the reason for the cloacking noise. So it got fixed there. Why did I pay these people for all those front end parts? I took my truck to a different Auto shop for the wobbling and they didn't want to do anything to it because the front end parts were installed wrong. I made the mistake of reading the reviews after dropping my car off for him will alignment. Reviews are mixed some people have a great time, and some have a bad time. As for myself, I went in for a alignment with a coupon that was sent to me through the mail. I showed my coupon at the front desk while dropping my car off, & of course! They don't honor the coupon for my vehicle make & model. I was not mad about that since there is to be expected from a auto shop. I drop my car off and walked home, not too far about a mile and a half, and received a call about an hour later. The servicemen told me he cannot work on my vehicle because my tires were in that enough shape to perform an alignment. I love this location!!! I brought my car in 30 minutes before they closed and they were happy to help! Normally I wouldn't do that lol but I was really worried about my car. They were the nicest people, from the second I walked in. The manager, Gabriel, helped me and reassured me that he would fix my car and even stay late if he had to. I went here for a free break check.It took 3 hours.When I was told I needed new brake shoes and drums for $360.00 I said I didn't have the money. The man said i'll see what I can do and told me he would do them for $280.00 and it was unsafe to drive my car if I didn't get them done right away.I said no and took my car home to see how bad my brakes were for myself. My go-to location for oil changes is the Brake Masters at Speedway and Pantano, because it is a much better experience all around. However, the Brake Masters on Valencia is closer to my work, and sometimes I don't have time to go anywhere else. The wait times are sometimes ok. I've come here at 5 PM and had my car in and out in less than 30 minutes, which is why I'm giving a second star. They also have free wifi, which helps. Unfortunately I've also been stuck waiting an hour or more. The really frustrating thing is that they don't honor appointments. If you show up with an appointment you get put at the end of the line, the same as if you were a walk-in. The worst part is that they use scare tactics to try to get me to buy services I don't need. Many shops do this to a woman who comes in alone, thinking she won't know the difference. Once they wanted to charge $35 to change my wiper blades and emphasized that the ones I had were "unsafe". On my most recent visit for an oil change, I noticed my check engine light came on that morning before I came in. I asked if they could look at the codes and they said no problem. When I got my car back almost two hours later I asked about the codes. The guy told me "It's big long list of stuff that's all related. It could be pretty serious." If I wanted to know what it was I would have to pay $85 for their diagnostic service. No thanks. They wouldn't even clear the codes without charging for diagnostics. I made plans to stop by an O'Reilley store where they can read the codes for free, but the light went away by itself later that day. "Pretty serious" indeed. Bottom line: only come here if you can't avoid it. read more

Had my transmission done there. Had to bring it back three more times for more rebuilds 2/3 of the time I had to cover the cost of rental cars for the week. Transmission light went on again I was told it was because of bad plugs or boots after replacing all for about 1000 dollars still had the transmission light on. Was sent Directly to a Transmission shop in East Tucson, 40 minutes from my house. Had to bring it there multiple times and still not working. This shop does not stand behind there work, and will slow roll you if your close to warranty. No one in my family will be using Brake Masters again. I will also worn my 800 friends on social media. "NEVER COMING BACK". I'm about to report to my next duty station and have to prepare my car for a long drive to my next base. So I went here on May 21, 2019, due to my lack of knowledge about cars, I came for the vehicle inspection (cost: $29.99). After the vehicle inspection, they gave me a list of what needs to be done and the total was almost $1000 for the parts and labor. Now that is not cheap price to pay, at least in my case. Now, Carlos ( one of front desk personnel) gave me some discount, so now my bill is now down to almost $900. For me that is still a big price to pay, but for the sake of safety, I'll do it. To be honest, prior to this one I went to other car care centers and ask for a complete vehicle inspection as well and these 2 car care centers gave me a quote for what needs to be done of around $300-500. And these two car centers prior to Brake Masters told me that my brakes are still fine. In the back of my head it's been almost 2 years since I got my used car and to be honest investing on safety is not a bad idea. So out of the $900, the front/rear brakes service cost around half of the total value. Now after the service, I drove my car back home, and I just want to make sure that everything looks normal under the hood, I may not be an expert but I know some basic car skills. I found out that the hose that connects to the air filter was not secured when they replaced my old air filter, the levels of my car's brake fluid and engine coolant was waaaaayy over the line where it says "max"‍. So I went to a nearby Autozone, asked for some guidance and they helped me out for free. Now if the mechanic/s HALF-ASSED the simple stuff, now I'm worried about the more important & more expensive stuff like the front and rear brakes. I came back (May 22, 2019) and all they did was level my fluids to where it should be, and didn't get a feedback if another mechanic check the brakes service for QUALITY ASSURANCE.
