I took 2 vehicles in to get the oil changed! Some places give a handicap discount they didn't have one but they gave me a senior citizen discount! The truck cost $80 with a senior discount, I was told that the truck was in good shape! Then I overheard a conversation with an old man he got the senior discount but it was no discount, he said why am I being charged twice and he pointed out the bill! I am being charged twice here and here! The employee had no explanation so he was told to call the manager tomorrow! I had the car and I got no discount for the car I had to pay the full amount! So this is what I got for $90! I did not get the light reset that warns me of an oil change! The oil leaked all over my driveway! So I called the manager and he was horrified!Well after a little persuading I got them to look at my car. The problem was fixed the light was reset, it is easy to forget the light! As for the oil leak all the had to do is tighten down the filter! Well it looks like no harm done. So let's look at the bill! So they changed me $2 for to get rid of the oil? Really! Are you kidding! I thought you were in this kind of business to get rid of oil! Did I really get a discount I think not! It goes to show you that if you find a good mechanic you better stick with them! Cuz you currently don't get that at Brakes Plus! I don't recommend this business!

Waste of time. Also I think they lost the keys to the peoples car at the counter. What a mess. No communication.

Beware of this shop. $495 for 2 shocks. I paid a grand total of $916.94 for 2 cheap ac delco shocks…read moreand installation. Invoice and photos are attached. The shock part number is a AC Delco 540-5063 which range from $80-120. Autozone has them for under $100. I understand shops need to make money on parts, but this is just a complete rip off. When I approved it over the phone I thought the $247.11 was a set, not each. Then they tried to tell me this ac delco shock is some sort of professional grade this and that all, bs and lies. Im guessing they paid $60-70 bucks for them. Invoice and pictures are below. I went back after I picked it up and they just told me this is a special professional grade shock cause I wanted gm. I asked for the part number which he gave me. This place has such good reviews also so I was surprised. They guys at autozone and o rilley were also very surprised when I showed them the invoice and the shocks they put on. So maybe the owner will make this right with me and I can delete this review. If not beware of these shaddy practices cause the proof is in the pictures. Yes I do take fault for approving this and not asking more questions at the time they called me. I should of looked into it and asked for a part number before i approved. Lesson learned and I still think they ripped me off with the price of the shocks. Im going to continue to post on Facebook, next-door, yelp wherever I can to warn people about how much they are up charging on parts

I do not recommend CB at all. Especially if you're a solo female…read more I only write this in hopes it helps someone else to make an informed decision. I have to suck up my losses and accept responsibility of trusting when I knew better. I let my guard down and trusted CB. Huge mistake on my part. For a few years I trusted they were doing me right. Around end of November 2025, I was told that the noise my vehicle was making was shocks, I asked numerous times that if they were sure shocks would fix the noise and that was all it needed-was told over and over- yes. Because something was really starting to feel off, is why I asked numerous times. After shocks were put on it still made some noise and some days worse. I was sent a 'how was your experience' by the owner, Dan West. I replied with my concerns. I never heard anything back from anyone. Crickets. I called CB and was met with some resistance from Scott but, he told me to bring it in. Supposedly a tag or something was left in and it was a 'humorous' moment and that was causing the noise. Which It was not. I was starting to feel iffy with CB and went elsewhere for an oil change to be shown a demolished plug and it was in way too tight. That mechanic finally managed to get it out (I watched through the window) Only CB had been doing my oil changes. So it left me asking a few questions about oil changes. And why wasn't I informed about the plug? I dreaded calling CB about the noise due to they meet you with resistance and an attitude- I had to finally call because it was so bad. And yes, I was met with resistance and authoritative attitude from Scott. They wouldn't do a refund because shocks were under warranty but I could get the shocks replaced again. Made no sense if that didn't resolve it before but, apparently my only option. I took my vehicle in and dealt with that condescending attitude and Shaun(?) and another guy lifted my vehicle and went right to the actual problem rather quickly, including the bearing(?) Which made me think, they knew all along. I asked about the shocks and I was told that because of the (hydraulic fluid?) was holding the control arms up just enough to eliminate some of the noise. And now it's low due to the pressure of the control arms(?) it's low again. I was authoritatively informed that I did need shocks and they would not be changing them out because they were still good. But, yet they just said the new ones were low on fluid now or pushed down(?)... And the noise was horrid again, so what is that saying about the shocks this time if before they supposedly didn't have this fluid in them? And I was told due to the control arms, it would have drained(?) the fluid and why the noise was so bad again. They contradicted themselves. And how could they not have known it wasn't shocks making that noise when they were replacing them if it were so obvious it was the control arms and a bearing? I've been looking back on some questionable moments I've had and now asking- if they feel they can get away with it and do bare minimal work on your vehicle (or none at all) and still charge you for it. And/or tell you that something needs done when it does not. I undoubtedly do believe they would, hands down. I was taken to the office by Shaun(?) and given a quote to fix the control arms and I believe a ball bearing. He made it sound that they were doing a customer service by discounting the shocks from the total. Which was less than what I paid. He reprinted a new quote with a slight disgust. I also noticed an "other fees" charge. I wondered if that charge was always there. I didn't bother asking for obvious reasons and I already knew I would not be coming back from all I experienced and observed. It was enough. I highly recommend staying away from them. They may appear to be super friendly and only there to help- it's super fake and they are deceptive. They are more than happy to take your money and good luck if anything goes wrong after. It's more of a lure for the love of the piggy bank for them.

From the moment I walked in, I felt completely at ease speaking with your service writer, Bruce P. It felt like chatting with a good friend--he genuinely listened to my concerns about the truck and welcomed my input without dismissing any of it. When I received the bill, it was a bit higher than I expected, but I understood that the work was necessary. As I've said before, you get what you pay for. Sure, I could've gone to "Bob's Auto Shop" for a lower price, but I wouldn't have received the same level of expertise or the warranty that Christian Brothers offers. What really impressed me was the turnaround time. I dropped off my truck on a Wednesday, hoping to take my family camping that weekend--a big ask, I know. But Bruce and the mechanic, Ken M., made it happen. They got the truck ready in time, and I couldn't be more grateful. Christian Brothers Rocks ! ! ! !

BG Automotive? More like "BS" Automotive. The one star is for an oil change (since 0 stars is not…read morean option). BG Auto IS SHADY, smooth talking for sure, but A RIP OFF. STAY AWAY. This is a lengthy description, but it's not half the story. To all the glowing 5 star reviewers - check your invoices. The problem started with their "courtesy inspection" accompanying the oil change, where half of their recommendations (deemed red flag "Requires Immediate Attention") ultimately turned out to be mostly unnecessary and absurdly expensive. That became apparent only after paying. My bad, of course, I obviously should have asked to see a detailed estimate prior to the work. The initial estimate did not provide parts or labor detail & appeared to indicate the work was part of a "complete tune up." Upon dropping off the truck, "Service Advisor"Jesse stated that Champion copper spark plugs had been factory installed on 2013 RAM 2500s, so that was best & what BG would install. Classic BAIT & SWITCH: BG charged $508.48 for a set of 16 plugs! When I challenged the bill, asking if "kryptonite plugs" were installed instead, Jesse indicated, no, the copper plugs were used... then he checked his computer & stated, actually no, in fact the [far] more expensive NKG iridium plugs were installed. "They're much better because they last up to 100,000 miles," he emphasized. I replied, "Great. BG just changed out NGK iridium plugs that had been in the engine already, with only 60,000 miles on them." The WORK WAS COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY. Also on the bill was a "TOTAL FEES" charge of $175.77 (yes, that specific), but with ZERO DETAIL of what those fees were for or how they were calculated. Jesse couldn't provide that detail either, "It could be shop supplies, or hazardous disposal - you know, those state regulations - it could be almost anything." Note there were no hazardous materials involved with this work, such as a tire or battery disposal fee. (Google search indicates: In Colorado, shop fees are usually calculated as a percentage of the labor cost (e.g., 5-10%) and are often capped at a maximum amount (e.g., $25 to $50). Also, Colorado statute requires the repair invoice to have some kind of description of these fees, and further, "a description of each part by name and identifying number." Nowhere on the invoice was the type of plugs installed specified, either. You get NADA DETAIL from BS Automotive. Finally, while repair shops typically mark up parts 70-100% of wholesale price, BG is marking up parts in the ballpark of 100% of retail price. (If you can pry out of them the parts brand they say they'll use, you can easily verify this with a Google search at their counter.) They should be ashamed and embarrassed for what they're charging the hardworking folks of Longmont. When pressed to justify the charges, Jesse insisted they were competitive, "within 5% of other local repair shops." More BS. Comparing apples to apples (parts & labor only), the local dealership quoted over $200 less, the Loveland repair shop I've frequented in the past was over $400 less (obviously, checked after the fact...). If the handful of other shops Jesse quoted are actually within 5%, they are ripping us off too. Jesse would not budge on the final bill, but he did offer to comp me an oil change. As if! I had already told him I would never set foot in BG Automotive again. However, I would take a call from the BG Automotive (Owner) to provide the rest of the story about this pathetic BG encounter.
