After the last visit that cost me $4,000 for struts, shocks and CV Joint replacement with the labor cost being over $3200 I will look for a more resonable priced establishment. I took my car here for a coolant leak. After visiting other places and repair shops, I thought Brake plus had an honest and straightforward approach to my situation with my car. Tony was honest and told me exactly what I needed. I didn't feel overpriced or cheated. I felt that I could trust to leave my car here. As a woman, sometimes certain repair shops tend to take advantage of you, and I had that experience. Anyways, my car problem is fixed. I would recommend making an appointment and then picking up the car once they call you is ready. This type of work tends to take hours and hours. I recommend this business for your car repairs. I took 2 vehicles in to get the oil changed! Some places give a handicap discount they didn't have one but they gave me a senior citizen discount! The truck cost $80 with a senior discount, I was told that the truck was in good shape! Then I overheard a conversation with an old man he got the senior discount but it was no discount, he said why am I being charged twice and he pointed out the bill! I am being charged twice here and here! The employee had no explanation so he was told to call the manager tomorrow! I had the car and I got no discount for the car I had to pay the full amount! So this is what I got for $90! I did not get the light reset that warns me of an oil change! The oil leaked all over my driveway! So I called the manager and he was horrified!Well after a little persuading I got them to look at my car. The problem was fixed the light was reset, it is easy to forget the light! As for the oil leak all the had to do is tighten down the filter! Well it looks like no harm done. So let's look at the bill! So they changed me $2 for to get rid of the oil? Really! Are you kidding! I thought you were in this kind of business to get rid of oil! Did I really get a discount I think not! It goes to show you that if you find a good mechanic you better stick with them! This is a very, very positive review. This is a glowing review. You should come to this place. Allow me to briefly (or not-so-briefly) explain. I am currently traveling across the country in an off-road oriented F150, and don't have a permanent address - that means I have limited timeframes, and am a customer with occasionally unusual needs. I recently purchased large replacement off-road tires at the neighboring Discount Tire, a location which did not have an alignment rack. They recommended that I drive over to Brakes Plus First, upon initial contact, I spoke with Jennifer, who was pleasant, competent, scheduled me on short notice and, upon arrival, was about the most affable person you could ask for. She went out of her way to grab the tech assigned to do my alignment for me, and was equally accommodating to every person I saw walk through the door during my stay. I couldn't possibly have asked for better service from her. My truck was taken back by a tech named Deric and, as mentioned, I grabbed his attention for a few minutes to explain my needs and concerns for the truck. I am inherently skeptical and suspicious when it comes to mechanics, from many years of bad experiences in many different places. Deric and Jennifer were literally the exact opposite of all of those experiences. Deric spent an extended amount of time combing over my truck for anything wrong (remember, I only brought the truck in for alignment), and notified me of 3 issues with the vehicle I wasn't even aware that I had. These issues could later have caused me massive delays and cost me large sums of money. His bringing them to my attention was literally invaluable to me. Despite all of this, he recommended that I not do an alignment based on one of the issues present, but still offered to test my state of alignment so that I could understand the present condition of the truck. He did so, and offered me a printed report, explained that it was in quite good condition considering, and after all of this (he spent a lot of time and effort), he told me I would be charged nothing and that they were simply happy to help. I've run a business, I know what time and energy costs. I insisted that I would pay for their time. They refused. I offered him a tip directly, in cash. He refused. Deric explained that he is simply glad to help, understood my position, and was just doing his job. I absolutely INSISTED that he take the money. He kindly refused and asked nothing at all in return. I am writing this review as the only repayment that I can offer for what was not only exceptional service, but for service that cost me nothing and saved me an immense amount of money. There are no words to express my level of appreciation for this Brakes Plus location, and though I won't be in the area again soon, if I'm even MAYBE able to make it back here, the folks at this Brakes Plus location will have my business...even if I don't even need it, ha! I read a grumpy review and thought I might not want to try this place. I'm really glad that I ignored that review and tried them. They've been wonderful. I went in for an alignment after getting new tires next door and soon find out that they offered a 3 month alignment "warranty". Guess what? About 2 weeks after my alignment, I hit a massive pothole and blew a tire. I called them and came in after getting my replacement tire and here I am, finishing up after the realignment. Chris, the manager, is polite and courteous and honest. I've heard him straight out tell people if they really don't need something replaced but if that's what they prefer, then so be it. My daughter took her car in for an oil change. She was told she needed a new tie rod. She asked me and I said there was nothing wrong with her tie rod, we took it in to a mechanic to check it and they laughed and confirmed there was nothing wrong with it. So when I was checking I noticed she needed brake pads, one was metal on metal which brakes plus mentioned nothing of, so they were trying to sell her something she didn't need and totally missed the thing she needed. my boyfriend went in for an oil change and dylan was very helpful in relaying information. he needed an alignment as well and he managed to get that done very quickly. however, when the service was completed richard had called to tell him it was done and was very rude. when we showed up to checkout richard was also the one to help us, and was very rude and full of attitude. very displeased with the customer service. read more

I have heard of mechanics trying to take advantage of women and travelers, but what these people tried to pull on me is RIDICULOUS. Went there to check out a noise in the car. Not only they couldn't find anything. They tried to get me to replace the strutters or some pieces for over $1000! Not guaranteeing that it would fix it or that it was related to the problem. Don't bother scheduling an appointment. I had an appointment scheduled for 10 AM they didn't get the car back till 1020 and I showed up at 9:45 AM. Some guy shows up at 10 o'clock with the 1030 an appointment for oil change as did I. They take his car back right away while my car still sitting out in the parking lot. I had a phenomenal experience with Brakes Plus in Brighton! My car was leaking oodles if transmission fluid. I'm a girl with limited car knowledge and had no idea what to do. I called and John explained what I should do to get it to their shop. After getting my car there, they found the leak and called me with the diagnosis. I felt very informed before they even started working on my car. They gave me a quote before they started so I had an idea of what it was going to cost. They called me halfway through with an update which I was very grateful for. They are very honest and reasonably priced. Their customer service is exceptional and I'm very happy with my service. Called on a Saturday to see if they could work in my daughters car if I dropped it off which they said they could. Everyone was nice and friendly and they explained everything really well . I even had them put all new struts on her car and they misquoted my price but said it was on them not to worry about it. Pissed off after spending $213 here. Scheduled an appointment at 1 PM, showed up early, truck didn't get pulled into the bay until 2 PM. Why even schedule? Just make your place first come first serve? Asked for a trans flush, alignment, and to rotate tires. Recently I changed the front ball joints on this vehicle by myself, but I don't have the tools to do alignment, hence the visit. After 30 minutes or so, they come to me with their compulsive line of BS to try and sell ball joint repair, "oh yeah mister, we would like to get them perfectly aligned but there is a little play in the ball joints". I told them I just replaced these, hence the visit to the shop. The kid doing the sales pitch got wide eyed and went "oh okay well we are just supposed to ask". WTF?? I was told the truck was done, and could tell they hadn't rotated the tires. Sure enough, they had not. They had to run it back in to rotate tires. Drove it home on the freeway, and the steering pulls to the left. I have to hold the wheel at a 15* angle clockwise to keep it from pulling left. I'll run it to another shop, something obviously isn't correct. read more

I had an excellent experience today at this location! John checked me in and out, and was extremely friendly and helpful. I dropped off my car for brake service, and Tony called to explain what other recommendations he had with a timeline of when to think about doing them. I decided to move forward with everything, and Tony created another quote and called me back to reconfirm that I wanted to move forward. Because I decided to have work done on my struts, it required a realignment. I was bummed because I had just paid to have one done 3 months ago elsewhere. Tony graciously removed the $67 alignment charge because of this, and I grately appreciated it! I have been taking my cars, my parent's cars, and my sons' cars to this Brakes Plus since they opened June 2015. The staff is consistently friendly, courteous and professional. They are ethical and only do the work I requested. If they find something else they always call with an explanation and a quote to repair it. If I go to the shop, they will show me the problem area on the vehicle so I know what they found. I took my truck in to have it looked at for a wobble in the front end. I got the call that they were finished looking at my truck. They thru an estimate on the table of over 1900 dollars. I couldn't justify this so I looked up the part numbers myself. I found the parts for less than half of there cost on the estimate. I called to ask why this was and I keep getting cut off and told I don't know what I was talking about. They couldn't tell me what the markup was. I then was told to go fix it myself.. Way over priced and front counter has horrible customer service skills. I would never recommend this store to someone. read more

I was in Brighton CO from New Mexico and thought there might be a problem with my brakes. I called the Brighton location and spoke with Shawn. I explained I was on a trip and asked how soon he could get my truck in. He said he was fairly booked for the next morning (Fri) but to bring it in and he would have his crew look at it. I was there Fri morning at 8AM. Another gentleman checked me in and said it would be about about an hr. At 9:30 I was informed they had done a complete brake inspection and there was still 50-60% of brake pad left on my pads. I was told the rear rotors looked rough but did not seem to need any attention at this time. They did not try to push any products or services on me and ...THERE WAS NO CHARGE. Are you kidding me?
