July 2: I went into Brakes Plus to have my front brakes done. I was told by Jazmine that it was safe to "resurface" the rotors and that the front was thick enough to do this and then come in a year or two later and get the rotors replaced and only pay for the rotors themselves and labor, as the pads - top of the line (replaced) are guaranteed for life. Needless to say.. left the next morning for a two-week vacation - camping - and right away putting on the brakes.. There was shimmying when there was never before. Called and they said, "bring it in right away". We were on the road and said we would look for one when we stopped for the day. It was july 3 and ... after Iowa..We are in Wisconsin... there is no brakes plus on the East coast.. Had to wait till after the 4th of July and Sunday, as most places were closed.. so now.. sitting at a Midas during vacation and getting the brakes redone. I would like to upload an image on the unsafe grooves of the rotors.. (think they ground them down way too far) and had to be replaced. another $500 out of pocket and I found out most places will not machine rotors anymore as rotor quality is not what they used to be. Learn from my mistake. NEVER machine the rotors. replace when they are 4 or lower! Called Brakes plus.. they did refund 50 dollars.. wish I could get the $150.00 labor refunded! It would have been cheaper to go to Mazda dealership to replace.. lesson learned! read more

I had my brakes replaced by them last year and 6 months after, I noticed issues. Took it in and they inspected it at no cost. Adam went as far as to bring me out to my car while it was on the lift to show me what the issue was and how it would fix itself on its own with additional driving. He advised that if the issue doesn't fix itself, to come back and they'll provide me options on what to do. If I had taken it to any other shop, I believe they would've been dishonest with me about the issue and had me pay for something I shouldn't have had to at this time. Brakes Plus clearly operates on integrity and transparency and I am grateful for that. I will be bringing my car here more often! read more

I took my car in because it was making a mysterious sound and I told them that I knew it wasn't normal. I asked them to let me know what it was. I gave them some details about when it would make the sound and when it would stop. They were very busy and kept my car for a few days but didn't work on it. Then, they called me and said it needed a few things to be fixed. They quoted me nearly $2000. I naively assumed that those things were to address the strange sound, so I said to go ahead. When I picked my car up and paid them, I hadn't even left the parking lot when I realized they'd broken something on my car and left the pieces on my back seat. Left the pieces on my light colored interior. I immediately went in and talked to them and they said "oops." When I asked if they could fix that, they said they didn't have anything in the shop to repair that. As I drove away, I realized the weird sound was still happening. I took the car back right away. They kept the car for another day. They did not charge me for any more work but when they called me, they said they had an idea what the sound might be and would give me an estimate to fix that. It wasn't extremely expensive but they weren't sure what the sound was. I did not have that work done; I just took my car home. This time, when I picked it up, there was grease on my driver's seat and on the carpet near my driver's side door. The car is still making the strange sound. I am out nearly $2000. AND, then I noticed there was maroon/red paint on the right side of my front bumper. My car is nowhere near this color. It was some kind of paint transfer. Either someone in their shop hit my car or they drove my car past something. It didn't seem to dent the bumper and I was able to get it off after rubbing it with a Magic Eraser. I spent several hours cleaning the interior of my car and trying to get the grease out of the seat and carpet. Now, I don't have any money left to have my car fixed elsewhere. I'll have to live with the mysterious sound for a few months and I'll also have to find another mechanic. read more

4 trips and over $1000 later including discounts for mistakes and my squeaky brakes are finally fixed. They may advertise and look like they are a less expensive alternative but in the long run you're going to pay more than you would going to a more reputable and experienced shop. My recommendation is to drive down the street and choose another repair shop. read more

I went to have oil changed here many times in the past. Being a woman, I can't help but feeling they think I know nothing about car repairs. I "loath" the way they up-sell me, saying I need something replaced. Many of those I did them myself afterward as it costs much less. I only let them do a few more complicate things. Then one day, I had scary problems on my way to work. Devin was very awesome and kind to test drive the car. He identified that I had to go to toyota dealership asap. I'm really grateful for his time and assistance that day. 5 stars for him but 4 for the business practices. So, use your own judgement, get a second opinion if you need to. This place will try to squeeze extra money out of you whenever they can. read more

Great service! An oil change at Jiffy Lube revealed the need for rear brakes. I'm driving back to Md in a couple more days, so this has to happen before I leave. Got an early morning appointment, added a tire rotate, price was very reasonable. During the rotate, they found a nail in one of my tires and let me know so I could get it handled before I go. Location: right next to the Shell gas station, Google map is wrong. Advisor Bryan, mechanic Ed, and Manager Danny were all professional and Bryan went through each item and brought me into the bay to show me what was going on to my calibers and rotors on a free brakes check. I paid for my $58 alignment and now tracks straight so I accomplished what I came in to do. I may use them next for Brakes since they seemed honest and straight forward. read more

Awful since the old GM retired. They've tried to improve service by adding a mobile service van, but their mechanics are sloppy and rushed. Ex - got an oil change, drove home...hours later noticed a large pool of oil in my garage. I called them, they sent someone over who confirmed the plug wasn't all the way in, which he fixed, then cleaned up my garage. That was good, but c'mon man, it's a simple oil change. read more

Took my SUV in for brake inspection/second opinion. Had recall/warranty work done day before at local Ford dealership to repair issue with brake line. While doing the inspection, Jeremiah discovered the brake line was leaking fluid. We showed him the notes from the dealership and he confirmed the leaking was from work that was done. He was honest, took time to show us where the leak was and sent us on our way to the dealership to get it fixed. Thank goodness we went looking for a second opinion. Car was definitely not safe. Appreciate Jeremiah's attention to detail. Wasn't charged for the inspection. We will be back when the car needs brakes. read more

I bring my car to this store for it's oil changes and general maintenance including brake work. I have made appointments but I have also dropped the car off on the spur of the moment and they always accommodate me in a pretty short amount of time. Danny, the owner/manager of this store has been with the Brakes Plus for a very long time and he models the scrupulousness and hard work that are hallmarks of this great Colorado based company. What lifesavers!!! While driving through from NE to the mountains, my truck started making a terrible noise! Worried, I stopped in Parker before attempting the mountains. I came to get some brake pads replaced and rotors resurfaced. They did that and I noticed the brakes were pulsating so I brought it back in and they ended up replacing the resurfaced rotors and didn't charge labor since this was my second time in. During this visit, they also replaced my brake light without charging labor. After about three weeks, the brakes started pulsating again. Third times a charm, and I brought it back in. They recommended and on car rotor servicing so that the rotors match the way the wheel hubs rotate. They charged me next to nothing since everything was under warranty, and the pulsating was still there by the third visit. Each time I came in Jazmine helped me out. She was so professional each time and was so knowledgeable! I felt like she represented the company with good integrity and wanted to make sure they got it right. Okay, I just have to start off with wow! Brakes Plus has incredible service! I went in due to my AC stop working. Prior to going in I tried to 30$ can of A/C Plus from walmart and it didn't do anything. Told them I thought my compressor was dead, but they took a look anyway. I dropped it off at 9:30 got a free ride with them to my office then GOT PICKED UP FOR FREE! Which is awesome. Also, I had my nice camera and 40$ in my glovebox. Completely forgot about it when I dropped it off, but everything was still there when I picked my car up. I trust Dan the man and his team 100% and will be doing all my future car business there. I took my 2017 Volvo XC90 T6 Inscription AWD vehicle to get a quote on rear brakes and rotor replacement. I was shocked when the quote came back just shy of $1000, yes, that is correct $1000. When I told them that was too high I was going to take it somewhere else, then the price came down to just about $800. Again, I stated that this was too much and that I was going somewhere else. They then came back and said that they could do it for $600. At this point I was angry that they were negotiating pricing based on my reaction to their estimates. They wanted to come back with a 4th quote, but I told them not to bother, I definitely will be taking it somewhere else. At this point, I clearly made them angry, so they took their sweet time getting my vehicle back to me. Buyer beware of the shady practices of this particular Brakes Plus. This isn't the first time that they tried to scam me. read more

I was a bit taken back by this last visit. Many times before I would drop my truck off and they would give me a ride home and back. My home is .9 miles away from this location. Once my truck was done. I was told that they do not provide rides back. I had never heard of this before and I had been taking my truck to this location since 2015. I told them that I had never heard of such a thing before especially since I live so close. I have came to the conclusion that if this is a problem I will be taking my business elsewhere. Did my truck get fixed? "Yes." But if the customer service goes down I might as well go to another brakes plus, or another mechanic entirely. Every time I have been into the store the employees have been polite and have explained what needed to be done. But your me, if the customer service gets bad, I might as well go somewhere else. read more

We still go here for oil changes and brake work. They're very friendly and their customer service is great. However, any other work we've had done has continued to cause more problems than they've solved. Now on numerous occasions, we've had to take our cars to other mechanics after Brakes Plus has tried to do maintenance work, replaced old parts with inferior quality ones, and caused more problems than they've fixed. We'll return for oil changes and brakes. But when they (so far correctly and honestly) diagnose other problems or maintenance work that needs to be done, we'll not have them do it. We'll take the cars elsewhere for more complicated things. read more

Well, I would say great, go ahead and get the brakes. I would not recommend paying attention to their typical upselling. Had my brakes done and calipers. Then at 14 months later they were done again even though the truck had been driven only 5000 mikes. 16 months later I paid to have them do it again! Outside of warranty yet again. So believe it or not 15 months later they needed to be done again. I took it to Kellers in Parker this time, and two years later I've had -0- issues. This cannot be a coincidence. So I got my oil changed over a decade ago by Grease Monkey and they forgot to put oil in when they were done! I took it to the dealer, they put oil in it, and the Grease Monkey refused to take responsibility. Ugh! So I've been going to the dealer ever since... but not any more. Boom! This Brakes Plus is AMAZING! Quick, reliable, and honest service and the front desk guy (wish I remembered his name because he was so great) took excellent care of us. Ok, I'd give it 5 stars but I don't know much about cars so I'll have to wait to see if the fixes hold ;) So far so good. I had a pretty bad pull to the right. They gave me a diagnosis quickly (even after I realized that I had made my appointment at the wrong location) and the diagnosis checked out with my fast online reading. I liked the lead mechanic, he illustrated the issues clearly. In the end I got out the door for $120 or so (two things done alignment, and some other dohickey). They told me that I still had a few points of a degree, off of the alignment from being centered. Guess I took that curb pretty hard, it's hard to say, I wasn't looking. Tee hee. Anyway. They said I could go to a frame shop to get the final tweak as they don't body work there. I liked that they didn't try and sell me anything else and it turns out they can do basically everything on my 30k mile service that the dealer would do but with... drum roll... ... .... A lovely coupon book. They honor all location coupons and aren't stingy, with expiration dates. read more

These guys are ok. Not the greatest and not the worst. Did my front brakes and rotors and actually price matched with a shop up the street so that was good but they were careless about me specifically telling them that if they closed the door on my truck that the window needed to be cracked because I had just replaced my windshield that same day. When they were done this was not communicated and one of the techs almost closed the door without it being cracked, potentially almost shattering my new windshield. Luckily, I was able to run out the shop and tell him this before he closed it but that is A VERY big oversight and fairly careless and boneheaded in my opinion. Whew smh! Also there was brake fluid spilling out of the reservoir onto the frame which was sloppy work and I had to drive from Golden out to Parker to have them remedy the shoddy work.
