We ate here last summer and were blown away. And not to sound like a snobby foodie from Seattle but I do eat at the highest end spots around Seattle and not just comparing Bramble House to other spots on Vashon. All courses were top notch it was honestly hard to say what our favorites were. Wine and service were amazing and our table outside was perfect for the weather and a family that tries to keep on the conservative side of eating indoors. I'll let the pictures do the talking, everything was as tasty or more than how the pictures look.

By far the best meal I have had in a long time! The Black Truffle Garlic focaccia was so good (note: I am not afraid of oil or butter). The Mixed Greens were simply wonderful. How can simple mixed greens taste so good? The Crisp Polenta with Mushroom Ragu was perfect and went so well with the Onion Crusted Short Rib with beans and kale. We also enjoyed a side of Grilled Broccolini and Roasted Mushrooms. And if that wasn't enough food we finished with the Spiced Panna Cotta and Coconut Tart. Both were very good, but the Panna Cotta was the star. I enjoyed the dessert with a decaf french press that was as good as any regular coffee I have had when out to eat. On top of the incredible food, the owner is a cool woman who noticed we were enjoying art by local Vashon artist Art Hansen, so she brought us upstairs to see more of his work. YEP... best meal - and given that they don't allow tips, the price was reasonable. We will be back!

The Bramble Scramble - best part is the Waffle!!

Bramble House has a very refined vibe and is definitely for people who appreciate etiquette and class. This is someplace I could imagine taking my in-laws for a meal if I was trying to impress them, but I would probably not visit on my own. At Bramble House, you are paying for the service and the ambience, not necessarily the food. The service is like that of a fine dining restaurant -- they pour your tea for you, fold and replace your napkin if you visit the restroom, and are extremely polite. I payed 25$ for the Bramble Scramble; which is 2 eggs, 3 pieces of bacon, some roasted potatoes, and half of a waffle. Even with gratuity included, I still consider it a high price for the portion size and type of food I ordered. If you find yourself at Bramble House, I would recommend ordering something you couldn't get anywhere else -- it will feel more worth it!

We were planning our first visit to Vashon Island and had done some research on where to go for dinner. Most websites ranked "Bramble House" very high on the list. So this was the only location we knew we must visit while we were on the island. We made reservations a few days in advance. Upon arrival, the cute older house used for the restaurant is easy to find. It is at the end of town and has a sign in the front lawn with bulb lights around it. Parking is found on the side of the building. You walk through a pink front door and are greeted by the staff and a modern contemporary interior. The tables are spaced a good distance apart. There are two options (indoor or outdoor dining). Outdoor dining takes place in a tent located behind the house. For our dinner we chose indoor dining. The menu is limited but don't let that fool you. The items that are offered are high quality with great taste. We ordered: 1. Local Greens Salad, cucumber, snap peas & radish, red wine vinaigrette 2. Crispy Half Chicken, spruce tip marinade, fennel mash, parsley-spring onion salad 3. Dark Chocolate Mousse, salted caramel, candied peanuts The local greens salad was full of vegetables that tasted very fresh. The amount of cucumber, snap peas, and radish was great. The only feedback for this item was that the dressing became a little too strong after a while. This may be fine for some, while others may find the sourness a little overpowering toward the end of the dish. Now, on to easily the best part of the dinner. The crispy chicken dish alone is worth the full 5 stars. The chicken was cooked perfectly, allowing the meat to maintain enough juice and tenderness while also not making mess. The fennel mash was the highlight of this item. Mix some of the chicken stock with the mash and the flavors mix so well together. For dessert, the chocolate mousse was very good. The caramel and candied peanuts compliment the dark chocolate, but be aware, this is a rich dessert. It is awesome, just very rich. Overall the atmosphere is relaxing and the staff was friendly but the combination of flavors and skill used to prepare the main course shows why this restaurant has earned its top status.

Immaculate presentation, terrific service and delicious flavors combine to make Bramble House the highlight of any visit to Vashon. We tried a variety of appetizers, entrees and desserts and every dish was a delight. Egg Yolk Raviolo was a highlight, sweet corn soup was delicious, duck and scallops were not to be missed. Dessert of sticky toffee pudding was good enough that I ordered a second helping and proceeded to clean the plate. Again. Strongly recommend that you pace your visit to Vashon (or trip downtown if you're a local) to ensure you come to Bramble hungry so you'll leave delighted. We travelled from Woodinville to come here and it was worth every minute and every mile.

This spot feels like home. It's very very clean and they take great care of you. Great hospitality! Food was delicious but I found it a bit expensive as main entree is minimum $25 and quantity is less.

The prettiest spot!! Came here for my mom's birthday during our weekend trip. We had the best time. Love the pink door! And beautiful tea sets! It's a house with a pink door and very modern furniture. Inside is way fancier than you'd think. We spent a good few minutes taking pictures of that bright pink door before going in, I think we scared them a little! Came here for lunch/brunch on Saturday. it was empty! No complaints there but should be full! Menu is short and sweet. And it's pretty pricey for brunch! Most entrees average around $18-$22. But gratuity is already included in the prices. We had tea and coffee in their most beautiful tea cups/sets. In love for sure! Our server even let us chose our own cups. For food: we shared a few things. My favorite ~ beet salad! This fits right in with my Italian family diet. It has all things fun and pretty! Beautiful beets, melons and even tazitiki sauce. I want to go back just for this dish! French toast: massive! That grilled/burnt peach on top was totally delish! Scrambled gg whites~ probably the most underwhelming dish. It was pretty, light and all but didn't think it was worth the $22 price tag. Overall, we enjoyed our visit here. She loved the ambiance and décor. I love our tea and food. Cute spot for sure!!!

Now, I'd just had some bad things happen in my life and was looking for something that might bring me some joy, so I ordered the strip even though it was a little pricey, and I didn't know much about the place. My brother in Christ, let me tell you, that was the most gloriously delicious steak I've ever eaten. Cooked perfectly. Buttery. An almost crackling crust. Seasoned well but not overwhelming. My wife's noodles were also fantastic, but that steak was out of this world. She made me trade once she tasted it. We finished with a really nice, not too sweet chocolate mousse. They nailed all of it. I'm as shocked as anyone to tell you that this was the best restaurant meal I've ever had, and I don't like anything.

This place commits to sourcing almost everything they have locally and they make a lot of their own base ingredients including every sauce they serve. The Ruby Brink is particularly well suited as a good bar that still has restaurant class food, especially if you just go out with your adult friends and not necessarily your family of five. Different restaurants are tiered to different clientele and I especially appreciate that they serve their target audience: adults looking for a damn good meal, super well! Their menu is prepared every single day depending on what's available at the time. Don't be surprised if you see different dishes on it from just going there a week previous. In my opinion this keeps it fun although they still make sure to keep their classic favorites around. Definitely five out of five stars for me

Everyone we interacted with was genuinely kind and welcoming, especially Jennifer. * Casual and quaint retro diner vibe. Nothing fancy, but it's clean and comfortable. * Fries were really good, crispy and lightly battered. * Hand dipped corn dogs were tasty. * "Fun size" meals are a great option and come with a tiny ice cream cone, which is a nice touch. * Self serve drinks and condiments (I personally like being able to get things myself, and everything was clean and stocked.) * Two private restrooms (no stalls/single occupancy) + indoor and outdoor seating options What fell short: * The biggest downside is the price. I understand there's an "island premium," but the value just didn't match the steep cost. * Burger was okay, but the patty felt small for the price. * Onion rings were not good. They had thick, undercooked onion and chewy breading. * The chicken bites were extremely dry. They were edible, but I'd honestly take just about any other fast food nugget over these. That's especially disappointing because they looked like they started with decent quality white meat. My kid took one bite and pushed the rest away, which is a first for anything breaded and fried. Overall, the service was great and we enjoyed the family friendly setup, but the prices and inconsistent food quality make it hard to justify coming back regularly.

Located in what appears to be a…read moreformer Dairy Queen building, it has the look of a classic burger stand and seemed like the go-to spot for burgers on the island. The dining area was bright, clean, and well maintained, and the staff did a good job keeping the restaurant tidy throughout our visit.Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to our expectations. I ordered the IQ Burger and added fries and a soda for a $7.50 upcharge, bringing the total to around $20 for a burger combo. At that price point, I expected a much better burger. Mine was significantly overcooked and dry. Thankfully, there was a large condiment bar, and I ended up using plenty of the sriracha aioli just to add some moisture and flavor. The fries were standard frozen fries and nothing special. For the price, I would have loved to see fresh-cut fries instead. Oddly enough, one of the highlights of the meal was the chewable nugget ice in the fountain drinks, which should never be a highlight of a meal. The kids' meals were also pricey. The cheeseburger combo was around $15, and the chicken strip combo was about $14.50 (note, if you only order the burger or chicken without fries it is $5....they charge $10 for the soda, fries and token for a small soft serve). The chicken strips were dry as well, making them a tough value proposition for a children's meal. I did appreciate that the portions were reasonable, but the overall quality didn't justify the cost. We were also not given the complimentary soft-serve tokens that are supposed to come with the kids' meals, which was disappointing and something the kids were looking forward to. Overall, Island Queen gets points for having a clean restaurant and friendly staff, but the food simply didn't meet the expectations set by the prices. The overcooked burger, dry chicken strips, and high cost make it hard for me to recommend as a burger destination. I would probably only stop by again for a soft-serve cone. I suspect there are better burger options elsewhere on the island.

The chef actually called me personally to confirm how low "low sodium" meant. That level of care alone had me ready to give five stars before we even walked through the door. Speaking of the door--the place immediately sets the tone. The interior is modern and sleek, and the entrance door itself is so cool it deserves its own Yelp review. We were greeted by the chef and his wife, which instantly made the evening feel warm and personal. With only four tables total, the setting is incredibly intimate, and we lucked out by having the entire place to ourselves at the chef's table--front-row seats to the magic happening in the kitchen. Dinner and a show, minus the awkward applause. The chef's wife was incredibly attentive, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. We had great conversations with both of them throughout the night, and it truly felt less like dining out and more like being invited into someone's very stylish home--where the hosts just happen to be exceptionally talented. Now let's talk about the food. The first course was scallops with caviar. The scallops were cooked perfectly--moist, tender, and seasoned just right to balance the caviar without overpowering it. Delicate, flavorful, and honestly a strong opening act. Then came the tomahawk--and wow. Cooked to absolute perfection, with a flawless medium-rare center and beautifully rendered, crispy fat. The mashed potatoes were smooth, rich, and paired perfectly with the peppercorn sauce, which tied everything together like it knew exactly why it was there. Add in the roasted garlic, and you get the perfect bite: tomahawk, mashed potatoes, and roasted garlic in one forkful. I'm still thinking about it. Fair warning: while everything was incredibly delicious, this experience does come with a higher price tag. That said, when you factor in the intimate setting, the thoughtful personalization, and the outstanding quality of the food, it absolutely felt worth it. This is the kind of meal you plan for, savor, and quietly judge other dinners against afterward. An unforgettable experience from start to finish. Come hungry--and maybe emotionally prepared to miss it the next day.
