Kudos to our server, Kat, as she was so smiley and friendly! We ordered the house rolls that came with honey butter and salmon dip that came with house made crackers. These were both amazing!!! My drink was a key lime martini. It was perfectly balanced with sweet and tart! My husband order the beef bolognese with handmade pasta. Tasted just like Italy! I ordered the catch of the day: pan roasted Coho salmon. So flavorful and cooked perfectly. Desert was the coconut cake with homemade vanilla ice cream. I'll be honest, this is more like a 4.5 star. The food is great for Seattle standards (really great for the price!) but it's not exactly Michelin quality like some of the other reviews say. The service here is truly amazing though! Which is why I'm keeping my review at 5 stars because I think the staff did everything right. I love that there are a limited number of tables because it keeps the restaurant cozy and quiet. Cute date night restaurant tucked into a strip mall. Lola is cozy and definitely has the vibe of "hosting friends for dinner at your home" vs being at a restaurant. The service is warm and friendly and the restaurant was doing a pop up theme of "Girl Dinner" featuring a handful of pasta entrees, a charcuterie board, oysters, and salads. The gem salad is delicious and I loved the small crunchy bites of bacon and buttery croutons. My husband and I came here for our fifth wedding anniversary recently. We drove from about an hour away and had never been to Bremerton before. Restaurant Lola is located in an unassuming strip mall and from the outside doesn't look like much. Inside is absolutely beautiful albeit a more intimate experience- definitely recommend a reservation which are easy to book online. Service was phenomenal. I like the separate waiting area as well- good use of an odd space divide. The food- particularly the main pasta dishes were fantastic, though the sage butter sauce with my gnocchi was just a tad too salty. The pasta was fresh and the perfect consistency and the bolognese was incredible. I also enjoyed the chocolate coconut cake (great for coconut lovers). My husband enjoyed the onion dip. I agonized over the three star rating. I want to like this woman-owned restaurant so much, but twice I've been there and twice one of the meals ordered (the braised lamb shank) was wonderful, but the other meal (one, shrimp and grits, and the other, fresh halibut) was about a 2-3 star preparation. The most recent was on Saturday, February 7, 2026. I again ordered the lamb and loved it. My friend ordered the halibut. It was so overcooked she couldn't finish it. I had a taste and agreed it was unpleasantly dry. Their cocktails are unique and enjoyable. The first time I went with my husband, and we shared a very ample sized dessert that was good. This time we skipped dessert, but eyed a huge, appealing dessert on the neighboring table. Parking is easy, and service is friendly and attentive. The restaurant is tiny, so reservations are a must. The interior decor is pleasant and welcoming, but tables are packed in as close as they can be and still allow for people to be seated. Unfortunately, with no soft surfaces to absorb the noise, acoustics are poor. With every table filled it's very difficult to have a conversation even with the person sitting across a small table from you. read more

Thanks to Chef Jan Parker (IG:@janparkercookery) from Tacoma for putting Restaurant Lola on my radar screen back on 1/6/24. I decided to take my mom out to lunch to celebrate her upcoming's 88th birthday at Chef John Hall's spot, Restaurant Lola (2/3/24) in Bremerton. Seems fitting since it's in proximity of the former Harrison Memorial Hospital where she retired from many decades of service as an RN. Also Lola is the equivalent of grandmother in Tagalog. I grew up in Bremerton until I moved across the sound to attend UW Seattle in the early 1980s. Over the decades, I am happy to see the growth and improvements in Bremerton. This is a Kitsap County city with rich history and glad it did not decay or fall fully into gentrification. I clearly missed the boat to learn about Chef John Hall's arrival to the Kitsap/Olympic Peninsulas back in 2021 with his various pop ups and kitchen takeovers, and his last stint at Finistere in Port Townsend. Plus with his culinary background that included working at Per Se, Gramercy Tavern, and Momofuku Ssam Bar, I knew this was noteworthy. The last time I noted another chef making the move to Bremerton was Matt Tinder from San Francisco to open Saboteur Bakery back in 2016. More on these connections later. Restaurant Lola opened on 10/31/23 (see attached Kitsap Sun article under Tips) in a strip mall area that thankfully has not been abandoned, but has full occupancy. Once you step inside, it's a beautiful intimate restaurant spot with a 4 seat bar counter, trio of 2 tops, a 4 top, and a larger table by the front window. Love the interior and natural light. There's both lunch (11am - 2pm) and dinner (4 - 10pm) on Thursdays through Sunday, closed Mondays - Wednesdays. The menu is very inviting - seasonal and with room to check out the chef's repertoire. Welcoming, upbeat, and informative wait staff too. If my college aged son was able to join us for lunch, we probably could have covered more of their menu. But what we selected was high caliber and definitely exceeded my baseline of dazzling flavors. We shared the Carrot Ginger Scallion soup ($15) and added an ample serving of baguette, served warm with a butter pat ($1.50). The soup was nicely presented, velvety and full of bright flavors from the key ingredients. The baguette was from Saboteur Bakery, also located in Bremerton on E 11th. Mom selected the Pan Roasted Harvest Chicken ($27). This was perfected roasted and juicy, again nicely presented atop beans, brussel sprouts, pickled garlic, and chicken jus. It was nice to see her thoroughly enjoy her meal. I tasted a bit of the chicken jus, wow! Had we known, should have ordered another baguette serving to fully sop up the flavor packed jus. I had the Short Rib Ragù Pappardelle ($27). I enjoyed the tender, flavorful ragù evenly served with toothsome papardelle. Perfect, satisfying pasta entree. I enjoy the tie ins with this restaurant gem. Chef Parker in Tacoma gave a big IG shout out to Chef Hall's Restaurant Lola. Chef Hall uses Chef Tinder's baguette from Saboteur Bakery. The complex, full on flavors and presentation from the soup and two entrees experienced definitely grabbed my attention and spoke of Chef Hall's vast culinary experience. Having his own place enables him to have a blank canvas to create these wonderful meals. Bremerton and Kitsap County has a worthy culinary destination worth the drive around or a ferry ride across the sound! I've had quite the culinary month and a half of firsts with Shibuya HiFi, Alder & Ash, Ginger & Scallion, Lioness, Sophon, and now Restaurant Lola. Love local indie spots that bring it full on with family and community at the forefront. Having amazing flavors and spot-on service absolutely seals the deal! My husband took me to Restaurant Lola for our anniversary and wow! I was so surprised to be at a fine dining restaurant just two minutes from our home in Bremerton! The space is small but cute and the food was delicious. We got the stone fruit appetizer- which blew our minds. So flavorful! I had the trumpet mushroom dish and my husband ordered the salmon. Both were things we don't usually order but we have no regrets. For dessert we shared the carrot cake and this was definitely my favorite part. Absolutely the best carrot cake and ice cream of my life. The wait staff were all incredible, our water cups remained full. I had the drink that had banana in it which was so tasty plus they gifted us with bubbles for our anniversary which was so sweet! An unexpected gem in East Bremerton! It's a very small restaurant in an unassuming plaza, but wow is the food delicious! The highlights were the dirty martini, the oyster Rockefeller, and the steak, but honestly everything was delicious. The service was great and it was very intimate. My wife and I agreed this morning that last night's dinner at Restaurant Lola was the best we've ever experienced . We've traveled widely, in the U.S and abroad, and this restaurant tops any we've experienced. The is a Michelin star experience. On all fronts...all the boxes for excellence are checked. Each course, from appetizers through desert, was special in its presentation and delicious taste. The grits and shrimp and beef tenderloin entrees each had a unique and delightful taste. Who would have imagined that a carrot cake dessert would be a highlight. The service was timely, thoughtful and engaging. The space is small but very comfortable. I've been hearing a lot about this place and how amazing it is so some friends and I went for the 4/20 late night menu. The aesthetic was so cute and cozy inside. They had mocktails which is always great for the non drinkers, and it tasted delicious. Some of us ordered the "Smash Burgers", Mac and cheese, ribs, carrot cake, banana pudding, chips and onion dip, and oysters. I'm going to be honest, I wanted to love this place but it was a let down. The Smash Burgers party was about 3/4 inch thick, which really negates the whole "Smash" burger name. And the outside was SO heavily charred that it was definitely more burnt. There was a huge inconsistency with the cook on all of them as well. One was completely grey and hard, the other was perfectly mid in the middle and another was somewhere in-between. However all of them were way too burnt on the outside. They were also way too salty. And the mustard sauce was delicious, the bun was good too, but the cheese tasted like American Cheese and it definitely didn't feel like the burger we were expecting from this type of place or for the price either. Also wish that it came with fries. The Banana pudding was okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing. It didn't stand out in any way. And the presentation felt like a backyard BBQ. The carrot cake was pretty dry and flavorless, but the cream cheese ice cream cake was good. The onion dip was everyone's favorite part, which while that is good, is a bit disappointing that the favorite dish of them all is a dip. Overall, I guess we had too high of hopes for this place. I wouldn't be opposed to giving it another shot but for the price it definitely didn't feel like the high end fresh ingredients we were promised. Okay, how is this restaurant in Bremerton, WA? I took the wife here for her B-day. Could only get a reservation at the bar when I called the day of. Thank goodness we got in. A small very quaint place with great staff. Our bartender/server was amazing. Told us about the owner, the namesake of the restaurant and how Bremerton got sooo lucky to have this here. We had the last 2.0 lbs ribeye for the day between the two of us. Cooked to perfection! It comes with a wedge salad and we got a side of scalloped potatoes. OMG, best potatoes ever. I haven't left a review in a minute but I feel like I need to give a shout out to this place. I was a little slow on trying to get a table but I talked to someone who worked there (assuming the owner) and he/she made it happen. They accommodated us with no problem and it made my gf's day. She's been talking about this place for a while now so I was happy to make it happen. Very limited seating in this place which explains why they get filled with reservations. But they fit as much as they can without it seeming too crowded. I am a fairly bigger dude so I appreciate having elbow space. Pretty cool atmosphere with a little jazzy vibe. The servers were super attentive without hovering. The front of the house is very well done and the space is minimal but stylish. They gave us a complimentary glass of Prosecco for my gf and I. they also had NA Prosecco for our 7-year old which I thought was a sweet gesture and he was stoked to do a cheers with us. We also ordered an adult beverage or two and they were well made and whimsical. The food took a little bit of time to get to us but well worth the wait. The plates are clean composed. The portions are good but not too much that I felt over-full afterwards. To start we had a round of oysters. They came with an utterly delightful and bright mignonette. We also ordered bbq shrimp which came next. Shrimp was cooked perfectly and the sauce it came with was sensational. The Saboteur baguette was perfect for dipping and we had that gone hella quickly. This is the perfect date night restaurant or girls night out. It's a fine dining restaurant with a warm welcoming atmosphere. The owners work there and you wouldn't know the difference between them and the staff. You can tell the love that's put into the food and the care for the staff shows. They also share the vendors and florists who work with them. You can tell they not only love what they do but they love Bremerton and Washington. This is easily hands down my favorite restaurant in all of Washington. You would expect to pay a few hundred for a meal but surprisingly you won't. The food is so fresh and clean. My friend and I have been planning on going to Restaurant Lola since it opened last October and finally got the chance. I've been stalking their weekly menu on FB and was excited by this week's offerings. The only thing I wanted that changed this week was the chocolate bread pudding, but the chocolate coconut cake with ice cream was amazing . Decadent, not too sweet, perfect amount of coconut and complemented perfectly by the creamy ice cream. My friend and I shared the celery salad. I'm a sucker for pickled beets and the ones in the salad were nicely tangy/sour and offset by the refreshing celery and herbs. I wasn't a fan of the al dente beans, but my friend liked them. The chef came out of the kitchen and gave us a complimentary bowl of the parsnip soup after we had the salad (probably heard us talking about food adventures, it's a small restaurant and we were sitting at the bar). It was very smooth. A little sweet for my taste, I think if it had had more of the herb oil and crispy bits it would have balanced better. Next came our entrees. I ordered the beef Ragu with spinach pappardelle and my friend ordered the ricotta Gnocchi. My beef Ragu managed to be both smooth and textured at the same time and the pappardelle is obviously handmade and perfect thickness, holding up to the sauce. It was also perfectly seasoned. My friend's ricotta Gnocchi was perfection (I tried it too). The gnocchi were pillowy and the mushrooms firm. Again, perfectly seasoned. THE BEST gnocchi I've ever had (and I've been to some exceptional Italian restaurants). I had high expectations for Restaurant Lola since the chef has an impressive pedigree (Per Se, Gramercy Tavern, Momofuku, etc) and he definitely delivered! And it's even more impressive knowing he's making the food, doing dishes, doing prep, etc on his own. My friend is already planning another trip to Restaurant Lola soon to share with her husband (we practically licked our plates clean, no leftovers) and I can't wait to introduce all my other friends. What an incredible meal and entire dining experience at Lola. First, you walk into a beautiful intimate restaurant and are greeted by the most friendly staff, and you may even see the head Chef busily preparing your incredible meal from scratch. After hearing all the hype about this tiny, higher-end, strip mall, fine dining restaurant, my wife and I finally managed to visit on a Wednesday for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The strip mall, near where the old Harrison Hospital used to be, has seen many changes over the years. Most or all of the spaces there are now occupied and it appears to be attracting more interesting businesses. FYI...Lola is closed on Monday and Tuesday and is generally only open 4-9 p.m. Reservations must be made on the website or via Facebook through a company called Resy. The restaurant is indeed even tinier than I imagined; I counted seven tables and four seats at the bar. The service by the two young ladies there (Siena and Phoebe) was excellent...attentive, but not overbearing! I was told in advance of our arrival that customers are welcome to bring their own wine for a $25 corkage fee. I've taken my own wine from my cellar to restaurants for years and I've established that a $15 corkage fee is my limit. So we ordered a bottle of Columbia Valley Sauvignon Blanc from their very abbreviated list. The going price for the bottle is $40 (double its normal retail), but we lucked out because certain wines are discounted 30% on Wednesdays. So we paid only $28...a more than fair restaurant price. I feel the need to say here that I spent 31 years in the liquor and wine industry and in wine education and have consumed and cellared wine for 50 years, so wine is a very important part of my life. We began our dinner with the Seafood Platter ($38), an amazing array of various seafoods that was plenty for two!! It included marinated mussels, chilled shrimp, fresh icy oysters, and a sort of delicious salmon dip (with large chunks of salmon) that I wish would have come with some kind of crackers or toast points. We'd return just to have this again for dinner. For our main course, we both had the Seared Scallops ($38)...four large, perfectly cooked sea scallops on a bed of lightly gingery crispy rice with salty bacon bits and a buttery Beurre Blanc. It was really an exquisite dish, though I found the crispy rice to be a bit too crispy and tiring to chew. All in all, it was a great experience and though a little too pricey for regular visits, we would gladly return for special celebration dinners...and to try new choices from the menu which changes weekly.
