This was an accidental find on a Saturday morning drive in the couontryside and it was absolutely delightful! Brambles Bistro is located in a building on the property of Tanglebank Gardens. As you approach the enterance, there is a large outdoor, covered patio area with an assortment of plants for purchase. Upon entering the bistro, you will find a wonderful gift shop with a selection of items for the season. The décor of the gift shop includes an assortment of beautiful gift ideas that sets the bistro atmosphere to casually browse after you have ordered your food or after your meal. Although this is a counter order style service bistro, the food is excellent, and the staff are super helpful and friendly! We ordered the eggs benny and the Huevos rancheros, with latte's and a date square for a taste of desert. We didn't wait very long and our food was delivered hot to our table. Everything was delicious. We plan to return the next time we are in Abbotsford. read more

Set in the rolling hills of Abbotsford, with greenery and flowers everywhere, it's Dutch efficiency in a lovely atmosphere. I had the Short Rib Skillet: excellent in presentation and flavour! My wife had the Breaky Pie, which would not be enough food for a hungry person, but was perfect for her. Server was swamped - they needed more servers. Had to visit the counter three times for requests. With two coffees and a side of rye toast, my meal was $31 - a bit much for a normal breakfast, but not unreasonable for a special date. All in all an excellent meal. read more

Stopped in today for brunch shortly before noon and was pleasantly greeted at the counter by one of the new owners. A few changes were noted since my last visit over a year ago including the patio furnishings (very nice), menu additions and a culling of some of the merchandise offerings in the retail store. However, the food and service was sadly lacking. We opted for a table on the covered patio. After some time our food arrived. I ordered the Turkish eggs. What was plated were 2 medium sized, anemic yolked, hard poached, sad little eggs on a swirl of spiced yogurt with a dry side of supermarket style 'sourdough' pale toast that had a whisper of butter randomly spread in the middle. I would have liked to inform our server that it wasn't acceptable, but no one bothered following up to see how things were. I overheard the adjacent table commenting on the same dish that one had ordered, and comparing it to being served up barely toasted no-name white bread and eggs from Safeway. I glumly finished and wanted to speak to the owner afterwards, but no one was at the counter, so we left. Note to self- stick to the tried and true, and spend $18 on something a bit more palatable at a place where there's more attention to higher quality food product and a modicum of service. As for branding the former Brambles as an 'Agora' dining experience? Perhaps Market of You Missed the Mark would be more appropriate. Disappointing, as this was a go to place for years during summer foraging season in the Fraser Valley. read more

I brought my 97 year old Mom here for her birthday lunch and she loved it. My Mom has a walker and there is lots of space to walk between tables and a bathroom equipped for people with disabilities. The food was yummy and substantial. My Mom had the breakfast hand pie, my friend had a BLT and I had the best haevos rancheros I have ever had. We all enjoyed our meals. The coffee was delicious. We did not have room for dessert but the couple next to us had a lovely looking lemon tart. The space is bright and in a garden setting. A real nice surprise to find this gem in Abbotsford. read more

We read about Tanglebank Gardens & Brambles Bistro in "The Fresh View" little advertising booklet and just had to drive out the Abbotsford from South Surrey to check it out. It sounded so appealing to eat in a garden setting down a country road. While the concept itself is a good one...with great potential in this setting, the food we ordered, disappointingly did not follow through with our expectations.. Most of the lunch menu is salad, soup, coffee and bakery items and does look like an interesting mix, especially if you are vegan. Perhaps the French onion soup we ordered was a bad choice, but today it was overly seasoned with an herb... I think it was thyme with not much broth, and mainly bread filling the bowl. When I tried to save it by watering down the broth, it actually tasted better to me. My husband, however, kept remarking the soup left a bad taste in his mouth. The service was cheerful so no complaints there. All in all, we were looking, as we always do, for a little new bistro with great appeal, and sadly Brambles didn't quite make it. read more

Brunch and light lunches are served with a clever inclusion of edibles. The lavender cream a top the waffles is pretty great ! Local suppliers of cheese, meats, breads and poultry are used. A unique place to go sip and savour amongst the greenery and flowers. Worth the trip for brownie points or a GirlFriend destination. ---To get to the nursery, take highway #1 to the Mt. Lehman Rd exit ( no.83 ) Travel north on Mt. Lehman Rd ( past Fraser Valley Auto Mall ) to Downes Rd. Make a left turn onto Downes Rd and travel 1 km. brambles has always been a lovely place to visit and on our recent visit, i came in with no expectations and just wanted to have a nice cappuccino and quality time with my partner. i am so pleased to have experienced the best service and our visit was so different that the others in the past. we came on a busy Saturday, when Santa was visiting, and families visited for a brunch buffet. it was a quaint fall morning and we were immediately greeted by a hostess who informed us who would be serving us and shared the daily activities scheduled that day. our breakfast order was taken promptly and food came out fresh and in a timely manner. in addition to the general breakfast platter that we usually ordered, we asked for the pear "bread pudding" and it was out of this world delicious. WOOH HOO! please keep up the great work management and love all the holiday décor. read more

I have mixed reviews about this place. I've been here twice, once a couple years back and once just a few days ago. I had their croque madame years back and really enjoyed it so I brought a few friends back to visit on our way to a nearby pumpkin patch, we had the huevos rancheros and were assured it's one of the best dishes but it didn't satisfy any of us. It tasted healthy and fresh but lacked flavor and wasn't anything special. The place is really pretty and the staff are friendly. Scenic, beautiful location. The menu is so creative ! Many dishes I had never seen or heard of before. I ordered the butter chicken wrap and it was unique and delicious. For some reason they don't serve regular coffee which I found odd, considering they are known for their breakfast and brunch. But the food more than makes up for the lack of coffee and I can't wait to come back. read more

We went for lunch at Tanglebank/Brambles and had a really lovely time. There is good variety on the menu and all 3 of us really enjoyed our meals... BLAT sandwich, reuben burger and coconut curry lamb wrap. The service was very good, friendly and genuine without being gushy. The atmosphere is also nice, set in the nursery environment. We definitely will return and it's good to know there is a nice place like this around. read more

Went and totally enjoyed the Mothers Day Buffet. It was all freshly made and I didn't notice any pre-made items. All the offerings were nicely spiced with fresh herbs. My only complaint was that the price of the buffet did not enclude the coffee and for the cost I believe it could have been covered. read more

The food here was decent, but not quite what we were expecting for a farm-to-table type of establishment. That said, the service was quite friendly, and the salads we saw on other tables (we got sandwiches) looked quite sizable and tasty. Following my first visit to Brambles a couple of days ago, I just had to return for lunch and try another chef's creation. Another home run. I was not disappointed in any way. Once again the food and the service was absolutely perfect and I can sometimes be a little fussy when it comes to my food. My Brambles Rubin was artfully presented and delicious! it's really nice to have found a bistro that is focused on quality food rather than massed produced get-it-anywhere sandwiches being crowded off of your plate by fries. I don't recall seeing one dish with fries on it. What a treat! If you're looking for quality, tasty and different lunch offerings, I highly recommend you try Brambles. read more

Lovely gardens and delicious French toast! Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors (was a little over air-conditioned inside however). The house made lemonades and iced teas are flavourful. read more

Food here is amazing, the maple bacon is next level and the coffee is always outstanding. There only downfall is the service, several times I've been there when it's busy and I had to wait a very long time to be seen. On my first visit to Brambles Bistro I enjoyed the roasted beet salad. It was amazing and led to my second visit. This time the waiter was not aware of the daily specials so I ordered the Seafood Chowder off the menu. It came with a small salad with an amazing blueberry vinaigrette. The soup had a pastry crust which was delicious. The soup, though, was so salty that I could eat only a small portion. Even so I was drinking water all afternoon and can still feel the effects of the salt on my lips and tongue. Apparently the chef is from another restaurant in Abbotsford that was open for only a short time - not a good omen for Brambles. read more

While I have visited Tanglebank Nursery several times for my garden plants and outside decor I was pleased to hear the Bistro was in the works. My husband and I were absolutely delighted with our luncheon. The service was wonderful and friendly and the food was amazing! The portions were perfect. I usually don't get my hubby to go to bistro's but he is asking to go again. We have since taken family and friends there and they all agree that not only is the menu a wonderful selection for all appetites, but the scenery is gorgeous and tranquil and the store gives you a chance to look around and perhaps find that unique gift. Its a very warm and inviting atmosphere and I would highly recommend it. read more

Nasty, over priced...and not worth visiting. Went with co-workers and waited 70min to get our preordered lunch (did this to save time...haha).Told them that my sandwich was not good and was told they would tell the kitchen but nothing further was done... Won't be back! read more
