Both Brandon and Katrina have so much talent. I first met Brandon and Katrina back in 2009, in the middle of planning our February 2010 wedding. And from the get go, I loved their enthusiasm. I HAD to put Brandon Wong Photography on yelp because our experience with them was AMAZING! Brandon and Katrina are professional, warm, genuine, down to earth and they make you feel so comfortable in front of the camera. They have an eye for creative shots that capture and document the perfect moments you would never want to forget. I just got married in May of this past year (2011) and I had my engagement shots as well as wedding day photography with them. For my engagement shots, they were willing to hike an hour to a woodsey spot because we really wanted a outdoor shoot. Seriously, not all photographers are willing to do that! The results were phenomenal and they were such good sports even though it ended up raining on us while we hiked back. Short version: I am obsessed. There are no words for this husband/wife duo. All you need is one visit to their home/studio to meet them and you'll be hooked onto their warm personalities, professionalism, and kindness. They make you feel so comfortable - like you've known them forever and are catching up with old friends - and answer ALL of your questions (and by ALL I mean... e-mail after e-mail after e-mail OCD bride style) with as much grace and patience as the very first. After posting our wedding photos on Facebook, we received tons of messages of future-brides asking us who our photographers were - that just speaks to how high quality and how different their style is from your typical wedding photography. I e-mailed and met with dozens of photographers - there are so many styles out there and so many in SoCal to choose from... it's really overwhelming. And every other photographer is perfectly nice, have a nice style, blahblahblah -- but nothing that ever stood out. We got married in September 2015 and one of the first things we did for our wedding planning was find our photographers. We looked through all the amazing photographers in the Los Angeles area, and Brandon Wong Photography jumped out like Air Jaws from a sea of excellent photographers. We quickly contacted them, and they even more quickly responded to us. At the time, my fiance and I were long-distance and we wanted our engagement shoot to be done at Griffiths Observatory on a Sunday before I had to catch a flight at noon, so they went out of their way to wake up way early to do our engagement shoot! So I am a guy writing a wedding review. I normally would not do this unless I had a real good reason to do so. They gave me at least 1000 of them. Being a creative professional myself (I have film and production background) , I definitely value good composition. Brandon and Katrina, shot after shot after shot, documented my wedding day with such artistry and story taking precision that their images of my day are more real than my own recollection of the day. It's not good, it's great....shot after shot after shot. There are truly no words that can describe how amazing Brandon & Katrina are. From the first time we met them, my husband and I knew they would be the perfect fit. Photography was one of the one things I wanted to splurge on since pictures last forever. We absolutely love Brandon and Katrina and their work! In fact, we feel it's impossible not to. Truly, we mean that! I am actually a wedding vendor myself (singer/pianist) and I met them at a wedding we did together in 2011. When my then-fiancee and I began planning our wedding, we both agreed that the two most important things to us were food and photography. We already had our favorite restaurant nailed down as our reception venue, so we just had to find a photographer who had a great eye for capturing moments. Choosing a photographer is not always an easy task. All photographers can post wonderful portfolio pictures on their blogs, websites, because once in a while even an amateur can get the right lighting, the right composition, the right mix of everything to produce a shot that gets your spine tingling. The key difference is that it takes a true enthusiast and professional to get that type of shot consistently. My wife and I spent weeks trying to find the right Photographer for our Engagement session as well as for our Wedding Day. We met Brandon and Katrina early on in our search, but we still looked at dozens more photographers afterwards to get a better feel of the different styles out there. The one thing that struck us after all the browsing was that none of the other photographers had consistently produced what I would call a "good enough to be in a magazine spread" photo except, you guessed it, Brandon and Katrina. You will fall in love with their enthusiasm to get the perfect shot. It won't be uncommon to see either of them (or sometimes both) get on the floor on their belly just to compose the right shot and you'll understand why once you get your photos. I must admit, I suck at posing in photos but Brandon and Katrina helped me in that department by showing my wife and I how to pose by posing themselves together as a couple! I can't tell you how much it helps to see it visually and by example from them. They always know how to get you to produce a genuine smile for the camera and they don't tell you to fake it, they actually make you laugh by catching you off guard with jokes. They are such nice people, always positive, and that energy they bring is always uplifting and was especially welcome on my Wedding Day when I was both physically and mentally drained. We found out about BWP photography through a woman at one of the bridal boutiques. After checking out examples of their work and having a Skype meeting, we knew it would work out great. If there were an infinite amount of stars to give, I would give them all, plus 10 more for good measure to Brandon and Katrina. They are the nicest, most genuine people you could ever meet. As a henna artist, I've seen ALOT of wedding photographers work in the past 12 years. However, Brandon Wong Photography is seriously in a league of its own. Since the first day we met It was obvious they are not your ordinary photography enthusiast. They take passion to a different level and there personal characters stand above all. When deciding on a photographer for our engagement and wedding we never looked at anyone else! March 2014: we were nervous during our engagement shoot about how to pose, however Brandon and Katrina made us feel at ease. After that we felt they were more like friends. Before the wedding they were extremely detailed about the timeline and meticulous about asking us what pictures/people we wanted them to capture. They are always on top of their emails as well. The day of the wedding 11/1/14 they captured so many wonderful moments and we knew they would. Sometimes photographers feel like they are in your face, but Brandon/Katrina are so good sometimes we forgot they were there. We got our pictures back really fast from them too, about a week ago and got to relive the day all over again. read more

Brandon and Katrina are incredible at what they do, it's no wonder they have so many great reviews. When we met the two of them we instantly knew we would be in good hands. The day of the wedding almost every guest talked about how great our photographer was. He made our wedding party, family, and friends laugh, making everyone comfortable with the camera. It was important to us to have a photographer we got along with, especially because we were going to spend the majority of the day with them. Brandon ended up being extremely kind and such great company throughout the entire day. When we first met with Brandon the day of, we asked about a couple shots of details that we wanted and he told us that he got those shots already. Later on, when I asked about other pictures I wanted to make sure we got, he said they got them already again. I knew then to just stop asking. It was such a great feeling to be able to trust them to get the best pictures, have one less thing to worry about, and just enjoy the day. The pictures we ended up getting are definitely one of our favorite parts of the wedding. The review also wouldn't be complete without a shout out to their photo booth. There was always a line for it, it was so easy to use, and the instantly printed pictures were great quality. The best part was how they quickly posted the photobooth pictures to facebook. So, in sum, Brandon and Katrina are phenomenal photographers and awesome people. Our wedding planner recommended Brandon Wong Photography to us, & we worked mainly with Tana Gandhi. Brandon, Katrina, & Tana were such a pleasure to work with. Brandon & Katrina always responded promptly whenever we had a question or issue come up. We loved Tana's bright, vivid colors & lively style; it's what drew us to her work. Our engagement photos turned out so beautifully. We were so amazed at how they all turned out. She really surpassed our expectations. Our wedding photos were ALMOST perfect. There was an issue with some photos of the Groom, Groomsmen, & our two pugs not being included in the final album. Brandon & Tana did everything they could to try to find them, but unfortunately they could not. We actually have video footage of the second shooter taking these photos during the Groom's getting ready session, so the only thing we can conclude is that the photos were somehow lost. As much as it pains me to do this, I can only give them 4 stars, instead of the 5 stars they truly deserve. Overall, our wedding photos were beautiful, & it was a pleasure to work with Tana.
