Outside of store. Oh look, a stack of sweatpants
    Ciara L.

Cute clothes, not the greatest experience. The space was packed when I first came in, and it was very hard to find an employee. I came in looking for a popular pair of sweats that I've seen many people wear. I made a drive from Lynnwood, which is about 30-40 minutes away. There's a tiny Brandy in Alderwood Mall in Nordstrom, but I wanted more selection so I put my time into driving south. I couldn't find the sweats, so I asked an employee. She said "we only have these two." This was fine; it's summer so I understand there wouldn't be a wide selection of full length sweats. A little sad, I said "thank you" and turned around. SECONDS later, my mom comes up to me and says "Wow! They have like 20 pairs of the cute sweats you were raving about!" I said "whaaaa" and she said "yaaaa! Here it is!" They had a plethora of sweats and the employee didn't have the energy to walk two steps to find it. That is fine, I get it. I work in retail and it can be hard finding items and we all get a little lazy. Fitting room was an average experience. Next I go to the cash register. The cashier seemed very fake and didn't want to help or interact with me. She said "you can put the item on the table" and then after I swiped my card she didn't put forth extra energy into reaching over the counter. She just left it for me to grab and said "bye." Overall, I wasn't satisfied with my $40 purchase for one pair of sweatpants. The clothes are very cute, but I will probably look towards online shopping in the future.

I had a truly terrible experience at this store that still bothers me to this day…read more I liked this store because it was basically on my doorstep, and it had a good selection of cards. After patronizing this place for a while, I was asked not to come back to this store. Naturally I was curious as to why they would do this to a repeat customer. I was told that I had made an employee uncomfortable- by flirting with them!! I was gobsmacked as to why anyone would think that. I'm a talker- I talk to everyone I meet the same way, but this person thought I was flirting with them. Perhaps they have too much main character energy to think that. Perhaps they found my chattiness annoying- not everyone is going to be delighted by me- but why, WHY would they not just tell me they were busy and couldn't talk? Did they feel they were being held hostage? I saw Standard Goods as a neighborhood spot. Keep in mind I wasn't camping out at the store; I'd say my average visit was -20 minutes, and I wasn't there frequently. This just doesn't make any sense to me. I'm forced to consider the possibility they felt ill at ease around me due to my disablity- I'm legally blind and my eyes look different, some people aren't comfortable with that that's their problem. Even if that's not the case, it still really hurt when they asked me not to come back. What is this, high school? Yes, I cried. They made me feel like my presence was a nuisanc. It left an impact. question whether people want me around. There were so many other ways they could have dealt with it and at the same time keep in mind that I was a customer with feelings. I get the distinct sense that they don't care about customers or the community. It's good for managers to take their employees' concerns seriously- Just not like this. Maybe they are extremely nonconfrontational, yet there must have been another way to addrss this without banning me from the store.

The jewelry is sold at a very reasonable price. They also sell products from other brands, like Baggu and Chunks, to name a couple. After a number of emails back and forth, they were not able to send me the original mailing receipt which is required to file a claim with USPS, so it seems unlikely I'll get anything from the claim anyways. They even gave me a "tip" that I should look into getting a secure mailbox, as if that would prevent an empty box from being delivered in the first place. In the end, I spent $140 for a box with nothing more than tissue paper and promotional material. Oh, did I mention they generously offered to send me the products again if I pay 60% more than I already paid? Thanks, but definitely not going to throw more money in your direction only to lose it again. Update: Just to clarify, this is not a case of mailbox theft...I was physically delivered an empty box by the carrier. There is always risk involved with shipping, and as the shipper, it's your responsibility to ship in a way that reasonably reduces risk and puts shipping liability on the carrier. Since you put more than $100 of your product in a box that's only covered for up to $100, you put the risk on the customer. I can't possibly be refunded now. You also could have reduced risk within reason by not advertising on the outside of the box that there is jewelry inside.
