I had chin lipo and it was a breeze!! It was awake, I was given Valium to take 1 hr before the appt and once I got there as well. Dr. Dunn is very knowledgeable and explained everything I need to know as well as what to expect. Once procedure started, I could feel a little tugging but for the most part, I was napping lol it was painless for me. Post procedure I had no pain either until the next day. I'd give the pain about a 6/10 but once I took Tylenol the pain disappeared. Post op day 2 and forward I had no pain, just some swelling and a little tenderness. If you're thinking of doing something to your lips, you should totally check out Dr. Dunn! I was a total newbie to lip procedures and was super nervous, but Dr. Dunn made me feel at ease. My lips are already pretty big, but I just wanted to fine-tune their shape a bit while keeping it natural. Dr. Dunn did a "lip flip" with Botox in my upper lip, which made it look more in line with my already bigger bottom lip. I loved the result! I went back to get filler to fix the shape of the bottom part of my upper lip, which had gaps when I smiled without showing my teeth (check out the pics). I initially saw Dr. Dunn for sculptra and Botox. Just by visiting his website you can see what a talented surgeon he is, which is ultimately the ending that every prospective patient is looking for. But what may often be overlooked in the beginning by those of us considering plastic surgery is the course of treatment we'll experience in the meantime. Through the advice of Jane Ha from Naked MD, my visit with Dr. Dunn was my second Blepharoplasty consultation, and on my first consultation with him, I was already extremely impressed. However, the previous consultation with a different local doctor who'd been recommended to me, insisted that I needed an entirely different surgery to achieve the outcome I wanted, which made no sense to me! The difference in how each consultation went was remarkable. Dr. Dunn blew the other surgeon out of the water with his punctuality, easy-going demeanor, advice, and the time he spent in the room with me. I think it was close to 45 minutes, which may be a bit longer than many of his consultations, but I came with questions that he willingly and honestly answered, to include the flexibility he made for me being from out of state! He asked me what I wanted to achieve before he made any suggestions - something that would seem like a given. Yet at my consultation with the first surgeon, I was told what he thought I should get and why, he took no before pictures and wrote nothing down (unlike Dr. Dunn), and failed to ask me what I wanted to get out of this procedure (this is a doctor that many people had recommended to me!). Plenty of doctors can achieve great results, but not as many look at it from a patient-centered viewpoint and really take the time to get to know their patients like Dr. Dunn does.
