Was referred To him. Spoke to them regarding my daughter's breathing. And that we were seeking out a rhinoplasty solely to fix her breathing. I guess they don't take notes. My young almost 20 year old daughter went in and he began to pick apart her face in the most horrific way describing all her "flaws" he could see. My sweet daughter hasn't quite found her voice yet and I blame myself for not being in that room that day (work) I would have kindly told him to be quiet and stay on the course of why she was there. To fix the deviated septum. She even came with her CT scan results. :( poor girl called me hysterically crying asking me what nasal folds are and how he said she needs to fix them and needs a chin implant. She asked me why she's so ugly. Anyway I don't care if you were "trying" to help Dr Zelken. Zero excuse for this. Dr Z has been amazing! I discovered him on YouTube and he seemed really knowledgeable and I loved how informative his videos were and how subtle his results are. I decided to have a consultation with him, because I wanted to feminize my face more. He suggested I do buccal, fat pad, removal, lower face, and neck Lipo with facetite radiofrequency. Results were absolutely amazing and everybody told me it was a huge improvement . However, because of my age, my skin on neck and jowels were still sagging. Face tight helps but it can only do so much. I really just needed a neck or facelift. Because these are so pricey in the US, I decided to do it in turkey. I don't regret doing it in Turkey, but of course, having surgery out of the country there is no real accountability if something were to go wrong. Everything went smooth for the most part, but they did a cat eye lift on me where they put the suture under the muscle. This technique works for some people but for me, it only lasted three months and then went away leaving my eyebrows back in the position that they were. I decided to go back to Dr. Zelken to see how I can fix it this time, and he decided on a different approach with actual incisions in the hairline, and told me that I should also do a hairline lowering, which is some thing that I have considered. Give me a very reasonable price. Good work isn't cheap and cheap work isn't good. We also decided to do fat transfer to the face because my cheekbones weren't very full anymore and because I have such a strong jaw it was looking very gaunt. I just had my surgery today and yes it is painful. Even with the Percocet I would say that the pain is about seven or eight. It feels like a very bad migraine. But I would highly recommend Dr. Zelken and his staff. I love Micki also his nurse assistant. She's so cool and down to earth. Also, I forgot to mention that I did this all under local anesthesia which I know is super crazy but I saved a lot of money by doing this and yes, it is very creepy at times to feel the tugging, pulling, cutting, cauterizing and pressure of knowing what's going on but it's definitely something you can get through. This doctor has had such an impact on my life for many years. I found out I had breast cancer In 2016. It was a long day, I had many tests and results thrown at me I was in a whirlwind of sadness and I was terrified. I had two small children and one older son that needed their mom for many more years. I had a metal stem in my back from severe back pain over the years so I couldn't have an MRI. There was no way to know what stage I was at this time. My husband was very supportive and just wanted me around for many more years. I had breastfed my children, I had lived a good life, I was married, all in all I was okay with losing my breasts. I moved forward with a double mastectomy at which time I was losing what made me feel like a woman so to speak. Needless to say I walked in and met Dr. Zelken after a long day of depressing information and plans and he was the bright smiling face I needed that day. He was positive, honest about what he may and may not be able to do for me, and just a great human. I knew I was in good hands. I had no idea how many times he would be there for me to help me with anything I needed to feel whole again. I had just given up on trying to feel attractive I would simply ignore my breasts, I didn't need them I just won't look at them I told myself. Dr. Zelken assured me if there is any way to save my nipples he would try, but that wasn't in the cards and he seemed to be more upset than I was about this. Needless to say the surgery came and went and I woke up with implants - I asked to be smaller busted because I didn't want the breasts anymore. I had always been big busted and I think I just wanted to downplay them in general, remember I wasn't even going to look at them haha. Needless to say many surgeries later due to issues with implants staying in place, fat graphs not really taking like I needed and on and on. Finally, I just allowed Dr. Zelken to put the size implants I needed in order to fill the hole that was there from the size breasts I was born with. I went through 22 surgeries in 5 years with Dr. Zelken. I got to know him quite well! I didn't want all of these surgeries but life has other plans sometimes. I had revisions done as well as a few things thrown in there for me, after all I had been through a lot! Needless to say almost ten years later I'm still here. To be honest my breasts look beautiful. The very breasts I had planned to never look at again were beautiful to my surprise. I have very little to no scars, I've had 3-D nipple tattoos (after many conversations with Dr. Zelken telling me to do so) he was correct as usual I needed those nipples for my brain to see. I even find myself getting into the shower, looking in the mirror quickly and 9 times out of 10 I forget I'm missing anything! That's pretty amazing. Fast forward to my youngest child who nearly died from a blockage (the very stress that contributed to my breast cancer) she had terrible scarring from the ostomy reconnection and needles to say I would only trust my daughter to one surgeon, Dr. Johnathan Zelken. He has made her feel like a beautiful, as well as whole again person just like he did for me. She had also lost about 70 pounds with pure dedication and hard work so she also had a lot of loose skin. Needless to say he made her look amazing and wow what it has done for her confidence! What a beautiful job he did on both of us. He has the skillful touch but his kindness and care for the patient was the most wonderful part of going through these things that are stressful, difficult times however he uses his magic touch to make an impact on you in so many ways. I am forever grateful that I got to meet him on one of the hardest days of my life and I can never thank him enough for all he has done for me and my daughter. I'm over 4 months of healing from Buccal Removal and FaceTite and I'm thankful that I took the time to go to Newport Beach after speaking with several other Beverly hills surgeons first. Absolutely botched. What was supposed to be a straightforward radio frequency treatment and buccal fat removal turned into a living nightmare that cost me a year of my life and over $15k to repair. After being unable to locate the buccal fat, he opted to liposuction my cheeks further (without consent, while under sedation) to "mimic" the look. I was left with large notches, facial indents and incredible skin laxity. After consulting with 9 different board certified facial plastic surgeons (Zelken is not ABFPRS or ENT board certified, which are facial-specific specialties) the collective suggestion for repair was a fat transfer and a mini facelift, both of which I completed late last year. Please do your research thoroughly. I beg anyone reading this that is considering any facial surgery/treatments to look elsewhere, specifically to surgeons who have the facial board certification specialties (again, Dr. Zelken does not). There is a reason he has to market himself so heavily on YouTube - you'll notice that the endorsements and testimonials are always his alone, never actual patients. read more

Before my surgery, my face was heading south to the realm of butt ugly. During the consultation, Dr. Zelken asked me what were my top priorities, my hoped for results. I replied, feminization, beauty, and rejuvenation, in that order. It's not even two months after surgery and I must say that I'm cute, even pretty and I look twenty years younger! And it's probably only going to get better, because they say that it can take up to a year to see the full results. Dr. Zelken's staff is also wonderful. They helped with the logistics for doing the surgery in Tucson, AZ, where I live. Although the phone receptionist was delightful.. their consult fee policy isn't. Apparently, there is no free consultations - it's $150 for a consultation. That $150 can only be applied to surgical procedures - not a non surgical procedure. So if you end up hating the doctor - you paid $150 to realize you don't want any services from them. If you want a consult with the nurse it's $50, and that can only be applied to Botox or Fillers - and she obviously can't recommend any other treatment besides those - as it's out of her scope practice. So, what if you go in, and there is no recommended treatment and you had a bad experience with both... apparently you are out $150 or $50 - for a 5 min consult. Cool. BTW never did I say above that a free consult was advertised - I simply noted what the consult fee policy is as of today. Wasn't even aware that it was free at one point and recently was updated. Six months ago Dr Zelken performed an abdominoplasty on me for a large-size hernia-like bump on my right abdomen. It grew so big that it showed even through compression workout gear. Bathing suits were totally out of question. It was the right side of my lower intestine pushing through a weak abdominal wall. The surgery involved inserting a large composite mesh. Once I had sufficiently healed from surgery, Miki (Dr Z's nurse) followed with some Evolve ab-stimulating treatments. The results could not have been better! I love Dr Zelken and his entire team!!
