Our family has been talking about coming here ever since it opened. We love the classic look of a stainless diner and this place looks spectacular from the outside. Once you get inside however the place seems quite boring like a firehouse banquet hall. None the less we looked over the extensive menu for something desirable. I'm a big fan of flounder stuffed with crab meat, which was probably the most expensive thing on the menu. Three of us actually order it at $24 each. What a waste of my $72. Dry, luke warm, tasteless and far less than fresh. The vegetables were terrible and the deserts that came with the meal were cheap and the cake was dry. Tapioca was good and so were the fries. We also got a burger and that wasn't good either. With so many decent restaurants in the area, this place will be off the radar for us. Came here a couple different times since opening and love it!! They still have some kinks to work out being as they've only been open for 3 weeks but it's still one of the best diners I've been to in awhile. NJ Native here and this diner is the real deal. I got a wild special my first time here, which was Hungarian gouloush and it was the best new thing I've tried in a long time. This reminds of the top Greek diners in NJ with great service and reasonable prices. I just moved to glen mills and I hope to frequent this diner for a long time. This place is not that great. Breakfast taste awful. Fries is extremely awful. How could they give people these poor mans fries. It ruins the meal. Are they freaking serious. PLEASE USE REAL FRIES MADE FROM POTATOES , THESE FRIES ARE AWFUL. It's bad enough the order be wrong then to feed us these fake grease fries. I want to give a lower star. And the cup cakes are awful, they put cool whip for icing instead of butter cream. LOL , that's the worse choice ever. First time going to this diner. Short wait before being seated in a comfortable booth. Server came over quickly and took drink order. We both had yankee pot roast which was excellent. Sunday morning breakfast is always a nice outing except when visiting the Brandywine Diner! How can you screw up breakfast? I ordered 2 eggs over easy, scrapple, potatoes along with dry white toast and keep the coffee coming. The waitress was wonderful. What came out of the kitchen and was presented as food was alarming to say the least. Brick hard cold scrapple, microwave reheated potatoes, soggy dry white toast and all topped off by overcooked fried eggs whose yoke was not warm,fresh and runny but old, cold, and like the center core of a golf ball! We went here for breakfast for the first time this past weekend. The food was excellent, much better than the other diners in the area. The service was also excellent, very attentive, friendly. We will definitely return. The only downside was the rudeness and nastiness of the cashier. You don't pay your server, you take it to the cashier on your way out. We are really easy going people and rarely would we use the word "surly" about anyone, but this cashier was downright nasty and surly. I sure hope she was just having a bad day and doesn't treat customers like that all the time. read more

We visited this place for the first time and were fairly disappointed overall. The place looks okay, but the food was subpar. The burger was chewy, overcooked and tasted odd. My gf's moussaka was covered in jar sauce and didn't taste great to her. My burger was served with the tiniest side of coleslaw that I have ever seen. No exaggeration- it was like half a spoonful in a tiny plastic cup. I actually laughed out loud. Our waitress behaved strangely and never came by during the meal. She almost fell over once, made weird comments and handed me a cup of coffee on a dish dripping with spilled coffee. Very good French toast and hash browns, delicious chocolate milk and coffee aside from the Italian Sausage and Grits, everything was great.

First time here, the menu is huge! So many options to choose from and they are willing to accommodate vegetarian diet. I order NY strip and eggs and it was good quality and cooked the way I asked. I typically have a hard time getting medium that is actually cooked to temp. Others in my group ordered flounder, mozzarella stick which were thick, and another breakfast option. Place was ridiculously packed we opted to wait outside until it was a little clearer, the check out desk is next to the front door and bakery so even when we did get inside there was no way to social distance the manager wasn't wearing a mask and when asked about it he said he didn't need to because the glass was there. Got brought 2 different sticky menus guess they're not wiping them after every use?? Got paper. Customers aren't wearing their masks at the table Or to walk around when asked about them not following Covid laws to the owner I was dismissed and told that Covid isn't a worry to them. Awesome diner! Came by for breakfast on a Friday. We where seated promptly placed our order and I swear the food arrived within 12 minutes! I had the veggie 3 egg omelette with home fries and wheat toast the hubby had the sausage and cheese omelette with home fries and wheat toast. Usually I'd give up on a place because there are plenty of choices. 3rd time tried to get in at dinner. Gruff rude host, both workers and customers poorly masked which is same as not masked. We left. Not sure why but a week later we try dinner again. Not busy so just was more pleasant server was great. Food 7/8 out of 10. Burger, BLT and chicken Pot Pie were all decent. Salad was fresh. Maybe that's why we went back tonight. Rude host seems to be a constant. Server was friendly at first. I asked for a replacement for my dirty (not spots but food still stuck on the fork) silverware. Now you know someone hand rolled this right? My rare to med rare steak came out well done. While the other 3 at my table ate to almost completion I waited another 12-15 mins for my new steak. It was closer to med rare but 100% not a strip. Not sure where they buy their meat but it was the strangest cut I've ever seen. Could've been sirloin or even chuck. Not wanting to piss my server off further who seemed put off by the issues of my table, I made do. When there's been a problem the server should make a point to come back to check. She did not. She seem to have a big section. I've been leaving 25% and above fir servers who I know have been hit hard but I just couldn't. I was so excited about this new diner my husband and I enjoy diner food rt 3 diner is the best around and I WILL NOT go back to the brandywine diner ever again I read all the reviews before I even went most of the reviews were positive with a few negative so I had to make my own decision about them and they are lucky I gave them one star because they dont even deserve one star the only positive part was the waitress DANIELLE SHE WAS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL and the only good part of this review the place is really clean and nice very spacious inside and the menu is like a book they have so much of a selection and it all sounds so good so we both went for a panini not to many restaurant offer them so my husband had the roast beef and I had the London broil on pita bread 1st of all the pita bread was hard as a rock we couldnt even cut it with a steak knife it just crumbled the roast beef was dry I ordered my steak medium and it was rare but we didnt complain we took most of it home and feed it to the dogs the deserts were good but the worst of this whole experience was the owners they were not friendly in any way no did you enjoy your food or thank you come again nothing so I will never return if you want great diner food and a home feeling go to rt. 3 on marsh road the owner is such a nice man read more

Random weekday morning outing with my mom; she's never been to the Brandywine Diner, and it's been a while since I'd been so that's where we went for breakfast. Couldn't be happier we spent our morning there! From walking in to walking out, our experience was great. Everyone was welcoming, the food was delicious and portions sizeable (we both came home with food). The price was just right. Definitely a '5 star' event. Now, for the "extra stars" . . . today, is the anniversary of my father's passing and my mom was "feeling it." Obviously, no one at the Diner knew but you may have thought our server, Dawn Marie, did because the service she provided was the best I've ever had, anywhere. Not only was the service great, Dawn Marie's attitude was great; she wasn't just "playing" nice or efficient or interested, she genuinely was all of those things. By herself, Dawn Marie, gets 5 Stars!! On our next visit, we will ask to be seated wherever she is. Thank you, Dawn Marie for putting some light into a potentially darker day for my mom!! read more

One might only notice the corporate dross to the right and left of the Brandywine Diner, but it's a mistake. I've been there twice now, for lunch, and left happy, full, and very satisfied both times. A really good cheesesteak first time, and my favorite: meatball parm sandwich second time. The meatball parm hoagie roll was toasted *perfectly*, with damn good meatballs and the requested light on the sauce. Excellent onion rings to accompany. The servers both times were attentive and appeared happy, and I enjoyed the light chat as they worked. Oh, and the baked goods! They claim "baked/made on premises," to which I replied, "Never let this person go for any reason!" I tried the raspberry cheesecake for dessert, and it was to die for. I will keep coming this place, especially for lunch, and I am really eager to try breakfast. So do not be put off by the (slightly) unprepossessing appearance. We've been here several times, sometimes good, sometimes not so good. Today was one of the horrible times. Arrived at 1:00 pm with friends for lunch. Although we were seated on the main floor near the cashier and managers, it was over 20 minutes and complaining not once, but twice, to management that no one had even approached our table. When the waitress Nicole finally did make it over, she was clearly not happy to wait on us. When the food arrived, my wife's creamed chipped beef looked as though it was scraped off someone's plate. The toast was rubbery and the home fries were burnt. Our friend was given her food on the wrong bread. I was hesitant about complaining to the waitress because on another visit to this diner she told the very believable story of how she spit in a customer's sandwich because he criticized the food and service. We did speak to a manager who replaced the sandwich and traded the chipped beef for a burnt burger on a roll that was so poorly sliced, it was falling apart. We have seen other patrons during past visits send food back. We've had the same experience but decided to give the place the benefit of the doubt. Never again. read more

My husband and I ate here for the first time last night and we are definitely coming back. I had the stuffed shrimp and they were excellent. Huge juicy shrimp and big pieces of crab meat. My husband had some combination thing with stuffed chicken and stuff seafood...anyway, he loved it. We were served a bread basket that had cheese bread in it and it was excellent. Usually, I only eat the cheese part of diner cheese bread because the bread part is bland but their cheese had a sweet fluffy inside so I ate both pieces. read more

I have worked in the restaurant business for 24 years. I have done everything FOH and BOH. I have never seen a host call a server a bitch on the floor in front of customers. Tonight I heard a server come up to the host and ask to be checked out and the host told the server to not call him baby. The server didn't. Then the host said to the server are you going to go cry like a bitch. Then yell at her to just get out. I don't know if the host was talked to by a manager in the back but nothing was said out front. The host is the face of the business since they are the first and the last person the customer sees.
