This has nothing to do with the treat and everything to do with the service…read more This past weekend my wife and I went to Lets Yo. I had received a $5 birthday promo and was excited to use it since it had been a while since our last visit. We originally planned to go earlier in the week but got busy, so we ended up going on Saturday despite the terrible weather. We picked our flavors and toppings and headed to checkout. I entered my phone number but the promo didn't show up. After checking my phone, I realized it had just expired. I asked the attendant if, since it was for my birthday, they could honor it. She went to ask the manager. The manager came over and I explained the situation. She said no, her reasoning? "If I do it for you, I have to do it for everyone." That didn't sit right with me. How many people are really coming in every day asking to honor an expired birthday promo? For a small oversight, I'd have to wait another year to use it? It made me feel like my business didn't matter. We're talking about $5, not a free treat. I work in the financial/service industry, so I pay close attention to customer experience. This interaction said a lot: the attendant likely didn't have the authority, but the manager had the opportunity to create a positive moment and chose not to. Moments like that are where you either create a loyal customer or lose one over something small. Safe to say, this wasn't handled well. I left more disappointed than anything. I don't see myself coming back in the near future.

For a great Thai meal in Verona, NJ, be sure to check out Arroyo D the Thai Elephant…read more The food is excellent and the service could not be better. We are always so well taken care of by Jed, the Lead; Pat, the Manager; and Pupay, Owner and outstanding Chef! I am vegan and my partner is not, and we both love the tasty dishes we are served. We begin with a yummy papaya salad made vegan, with fish sauce on the side for Tom. Then we enjoy vegetable dumplings (last night deliciously fried!). Following that we both enjoy one of their their wonderful curries: Tom's red curry spicy, with vegetables and shrimp, and my red curry (vegan and less spicy) with vegetables and tofu (pictured below). In summer months, we always look forward to finishing our meal with their special mango and sticky rice! The restaurant also has a bakery open 6 mornings a week, serving a variety of specialty coffees and homemade pastries. I am so grateful to this restaurant for accommodating my vegan diet easily and happily. For the best in Thai cuisine when in Verona, NJ, be sure to enjoy a great meal at Arroyo D theThai Elephant!.

The olive oil didn't seem to pair super well with it though. Got the Adana kebab and mixed grill to go (sampled all the items at the restaurant while still hot). Chicken shish- fairly tender. Slightly charred. Good flavor Lamb shish- cooked ~ medium with a little pink. Good flavor but could be a bit more tender. I do prefer my meats medium rare so it could just be that. Adana kebab- Tender, good flavor. I think it could've been a bit juicier? Burger- super tender and full of flavor. Best meat by far. Veggies and rice- both very good. I appreciate the attention to the sides. Service - 10/10 Food- 8/10

Beautiful, Fresh, and Worth a Visit…read more I stopped by this cute, beautiful, and very clean restaurant a few nights ago, and I'm really glad I did. My wife tried the branzino, while I decided to go with the dorado. Both fish were fresh, perfectly cooked, and very well flavored. The ambiance is also fantastic--warm, inviting, and a place where you can actually relax and enjoy your meal. To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised by the prices. The portions were generous, and the prices felt very reasonable for the quality. I definitely want to come back and try some of their other dishes, especially the shish kebabs and lamb kebabs. I highly recommend giving this place a try. You won't be disappointed!
