Great experience and delicious food at one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in New Jersey! Service was friendly and responsive, although it was late afternoon so pretty empty inside. I'm sure it can get pretty busy during regular dinner hours. I usually have an aversion to lamb since it can be pretty gamey but the server convinced me that the Monti had only such a small amount that it would not really be noticeable. He was right, although the dumplings had probably too much dough for my taste. I would have preferred bigger dumplings with more ingredients inside rather than these tiny portions, but it was nonetheless tasty because of the sauce. The sautéed seafood platter was very good in a tomato base which wasn't too strong and just right. Very nice generous mixture of different seafood, including calamari, shrimp, and scallops. I'm not much of a bread eater, but the pita offering at the beginning was a nice touch although not very tasty even with the olive oil. The highlight for me was certainly the grilled octopus appetizer. Grilled just perfectly where it was not too chewy and with ample amounts. This was probably the best grilled octopus appetizer that I've ever had! My only issue with the restaurant was it's on a busy corner with very limited street parking. There is a parking lot in the rear, but it's reserved for other retail establishments and not this restaurant. I'm not sure if they would actually tow the vehicle but it's still a risk to find parking. Definitely will be coming back to try other menu options, but certainly will have the grilled octopus again!

Looking for a full meal, great service, and excellent pricing for lunch? Go to 460 Bistro in Orange,NJ. We went for lunch with 7 other church friends while in town at our district conference. We enjoyed a 3 course meal that was tasty and prepared with excellence. Soup, various dipping dishes, hot pita bread, and grilled salmon as the entree. The ambiance was nicely decorated in Mediterranean flair and clean. Service was great as the waiters attended to our every need. And did I mention the sangria! Great place to visit in NJ.

After dining at this restaurant three times for lunch, I have been consistently impressed. The culinary offerings are delightful and the portions are generous. The service is superb and the decor is lovely. I am eager to experience dinner here! 460 Bistro in West Orange is a top recommendation!

We stopped in on a whim last night. I called to see what the wait would be for 2 people, we were given seats at the bar which was fine with us but the hostess could not have been more accommodating to make sure we we seated at a table. The drinks were good. We ordered tzatziki (delicious), pita, falafel (amazing) and the grill sampler to share. The chicken was some of the tastiest and juiciest chicken I have ever had. The rice was perfect and seasoned phenomenally. I don't usually eat/ like lamb but these were perfect. The meatballs in the sampler were also quite good. We did not have dessert. The wait staff were all attentive (without hovering) and the hostess checks in on all tables. Overall a great dining experience in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

460 Bistro is a fabulous little restaurant. I recently threw a surprise birthday luncheon for 20 there on a Sunday afternoon. The setting was beautiful, the food scrumptious, and the service top notch. My guests were very impressed! I highly recommend this place!

Finally stopped in for brunch. Very friendly staff and nicely renovated, very clean. We started with the trio of Baba Ghanoush, Tzatziki and Hummus. All delicious and served with excellent hot puffy pitas. We both had the Lamb Shish, cooked perfectly served with veg, potatoes and rice pilaf. Very filling and tasty. Staff checked in on us as did the chef. We will definitely be back!

I enjoyed a nice dinner at 460 Bistro with my husband last weekend. This was our first time here after countless times saying to each other that we needed to try this place out. The inside of this corner restaurant is way more spacious than it appears from outside. We both commented on how we liked the decor of the place and liked the light fixtures. We were seated at a cozy booth by the host. All the staff at 460 Bistro were friendly. Food was very good. Pita bread was bought to our table, warm and soft. I ordered adana kebab and my husband ordered falafel. He loved his entree, saying that the hummus with his falafel was delicious. The vegetables with my kebab were fresh and tasty, and the rice was perfectly cooked. We rounded off our meal with an espresso and Turkish tea. Overall a wonderful dining experience. Recommended!

The food is exactly what you want from Mediterranean cuisine! Fresh, and burying with flavors. Came in on Saturday to find that they have prizes fixed menu for lunch! I will definitely be back and bringing friends. The Greek salad is a must! I had the grilled branzino which came with a small salad and rice. It was superb!

I enjoyed it so much that I decided to return yesterday. This time, I went alone. I was excited to go back, until the moment I walked in and was immediately asked whether I had a reservation. I said no. I was one person, and there were plenty of empty tables. Despite that, I was placed in a freezing corner by the door. It was uncomfortable and honestly unwelcoming. Nowhere on your website does it say "reservations only," yet that's exactly how I was treated. I felt so uncomfortable that I chose to leave without even placing an order. I walked in ready to spend money and enjoy a meal, and instead I walked out feeling dismissed. You lost a paying customer. What makes this worse is that I later told the same friend I originally went with, and she shared that when she calls ahead for a party of two, they simply tell her to come in because there are plenty of seats and that reservations aren't even required. So clearly, reservations are not the issue. That makes the way I was treated feel intentional and different. As a Palestinian who spends a lot of time in Paterson, I'm very familiar with Middle Eastern restaurants and pricing. Lentil soup is a staple on our menus. I know what a reasonable price looks like. For example, Kral Pide in Paterson charges $7. Charging $15 for lentil soup is excessive. It's not just high, it's outrageous. I'm extremely disappointed. I came back because I genuinely liked this place. Instead, I left feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone, nor will I be bringing friends or family to this establishment again.

The new owners have completely reimagined the space into a moderately upscale, but still family-friendly, Mediterranean oasis with a contemporary aesthetic that's also a huge culinary step up from its predecessor. The staff was friendly and super attentive without ever being overbearing and went the extra mile to ensure we had a great meal and a great experience. My dining companion and I started with the special Trio Dip ($20), a fantastic, delicious starter with shareable portions of traditional hummus, a unique avocado hummus, and perfectly smoky baba ghanoush with crunchy walnuts alongside with a basket of warmly toasted pita bread. For our entree, we decided to share the Mandaloun Mix Grill ($40) and split the three kebabs -- filet mignon shish, ground beef kofta, and grilled chicken. This platter is a masterclass in grilling with three juicy and flavorful kebabs. Mandaloun also pays attention to small details that make the dining experience so memorable. We were both huge fans of the dipping dish with a concoction of olive oil, za'atar seasoning, and sesame seeds served with the pita and the toum -- an emulsion of garlic, oil, lemon juice, and salt which creates a thick, mayonnaise-like condiment that is 100% vegan and dairy-free -- served alongside our entree that's a perfect zesty pairing for the grilled chicken. One of the staff noticed how much I enjoyed both and brought over a small 'to go' container of each for us to take home. There was also a brief "if you know, you know" moment during dinner that I am sure was entirely unintentional. Our Mandaloun Mix Grill entree came with a tasty green salad topped with crispy pita strips, which felt like a very sophisticated homage to the Friendly's Crispy Chicken Salad entree that was topped with tortilla strips. PRO TIP #1: Bring a bottle of wine or beer from home to enjoy with your meal. Mandaloun is a BYOB establishment and does not serve alcohol. PRO TIP #2: Bring cash. Mandaloun has added a small surcharge for using credit cards to pay for your meal.

Once I got to eat the leftover piece sitting in the dish, stewing in its juices... it comes together nicely. My mom got the chicken kebab dish, which is just plain kebab but both parents enjoyed the rice and its subtle flavors. The star for all of us was, of course, the Yelper's dish... Turkish dumplings. I don't know what subtle flavors are in the honey - my mom said rosewater and I can see that - but again, that elevated the dish. Plus it's not overly flaky or chewy, just the right texture. I bet all the dessert is this good. But although I found the restaurant to be cozy and my server to be friendly, the food though freshly prepared was just average at best. Let me explain. So, after perusing the menu, I saw a few Mediterranean staples, such as, baba-ghanoush, lentil soup, and a beef Shawarma entrée. So I decided to order all three of those items. Now, let me tell you not only was I excited to taste the food here, but I truly wanted to experience what a majority of people on yelp said about this place and its food. But I soon discovered that you truly cannot trust other peoples opinions when it comes to food. You just literally have to try it yourself to see if it even resembles that cuisines standard benchmarks. Well anyway, let me get to what I thought about the food. The lentil soup it's pretty tasty, but it would serve lukewarm. The baba-ghanoush was also tasty, but the pita bread was stale and void of any flavor. And as for the so-called Beef Shawarma entrée, it was literally chopped up cubes of beef! Nothing near to what a standard Shawarma entrée should resemble, or let alone taste like! To be quite honest, I was so disenchanted with the Shawarma entrée that I asked my server to take it away and just give me the bill. I was ready to go! But my server genuinely saw my disappointment with this so-called Beef Shawarma that she pleaded with me to try another entrée. So I asked her to recommend another entrée to me. And she recommended the Skewered Chicken entrée. So, I caved in and went ahead and ordered this Skewered Chicken entrée. But I should've just went with my gut feeling and just should have paid the bill and left. I say this because it took forever for them to prepare this Skewered Chicken entrée and I mean forever! And this is on a Tuesday night with only two other people inside the restaurant, so literally this place was empty! (Not sure if the Cook made me wait for this dish out of spite for me sending back the first entree but that is my suspicion). Anyway, I got my server's attention and she told me if I could wait a few more minutes because they were plating my dish and that it will be out shortly. And that literally took another 10 minutes. To say that I was eager to get out of this place would be an understatement. I was standing up literally putting on my jacket when the dish finally reached my table. My server asked me kindly to return to my seat and to try her recommended entrée. So I gave her the benefit of the doubt and I did so. The Skewered Chicken entrée was a little better than the so-called Beef Shawarma entrée, but really nothing to write home about. What a letdown! I really wanted to give this restaurant one star, but my server really showed genuine concern about my dining experience. And I truly appreciated that. And so as for my take on Le Souk of Montclair NJ. I would caution spending your hard earned money at this restaurant. The food is mediocre at best and there are a lot of better options in the Montclair area for Mediterranean food.

You can feel the love and intention behind every dish. It's BYOB, and they also have a small market inside with Middle Eastern spices and goods to take home. Can't wait to go back!
